I've been coming to Issas for about two years now after cheating on my original nail lady. But it worked in my favor because there's no other place I would want to go for my mani pedis. I started off just getting gel manis but was tired of the polish always staining since I get light colors. So it was recommended by the staff that I move on to dip powder and I have 0 regrets ! For dip powder I believe it's $45 and $55 for French dip powder. Which I find pretty reasonable given that your manicure will last for about a month before doing another set. A standard pedicure at Issas is $25 I believe. Best part of Issas is they go by reward system, once you're at your 10th visit on the reward card you get $10 off your service. So be sure if you visit grab a card and have your technician sign east visit. Issas does get busy if you don't have an appointment. They do walk ins but to avoid a long wait time I say book an appointment. Remember this salon is in midtown and a lot of women stop in after work and tourist come too. Issas is very clean, probably the most sanitary I've seen as far as nail salons and they use brand new tools on each client and are sure to open them in front of you. Issas also has a wide range of high quality polishes like essi, opi and sns colors. So something for everyone I think. When you do come I say pay in cash to avoid the processing charge on your card :). My favorite nail techs are kiki and Christina.

This was an okay place. I have not seen a basic manicure for less than $14 in this city! When I got there (6:30 pm) it was packed. I would make sure to schedule 45-1 hour while here. The nail job was good. Nothing spectacular but gets the job done.

Most techs at this location do a great job. I recently went and was not happy with the results. I couldn't request for them to be corrected as I had work but once I left the next morning, I went in and Lisa fixed them without any hesitation! It was great customer service. I usually compare their services to other locations I visit.

Amy did a fantastic job! She was so precise and careful and I have already gotten so many compliments on my nails. I moved to NYC in the fall and have been looking for a nail tech... I definitely just found one.

First time coming to this location. I used to go to the one on 2nd Ave. religiously. However, the work was becoming sloppy, and my gel manicures appeal within the same week. I have spent a lot of money at Issa (2nd Ave) and the quality service is "OK", but not great. I decided to go to this location on Lexington Avenue, taking a chance, and I'm glad I did!!! Maria was AMAZING!!!! she took her time, and understood my frustrations. I have a defect in my nail, which splits some times due to acrylic from previous years, and one bad incident took the whole nail off, and it's never been the same. Maria was able to make the nail whole by adding a powder and gel and glue substance that kept the nail together making my nails look completely intact. I have now vowed to come here and the prices are reasonable and she has now become my dedicated nail technician here on out, I recommend this location to anyone that is looking for reasonable prices for a great service. Thank you and see you Thursday. !!

Patty is the best nail tech. Through, neat and a sweet person! I always love my mani and pedi. They are a bit expensive so i took one star away but they do have a reward card.

After less than 1 day all of the polish began to crack and completely break off

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went to get a gel manicure, they forgot about me for an hour and a half I ended up having to leave to go to work after being there for 2 hours total I had to leave before they even got started painting my nails. I went back the next day to have the manicure finished. Then after 1 hour of leaving the nails polish began to crack off so badly that by the next day all of my nail polish was gone. They also did a horrible job at removing the cuticles and instead of being apologetic were extremely rude.

Gotta love Manhattan's Upper East Side manicure experiences, complete with KERATIN GLOVES! $12 gets you a full service manicure, the gloves, and a mini back massage when you're drying...a pretty snazzy deal for this city. The salon is clean and the nail technicians take their time and are very thorough, not to mention the crazy selection of nail polish! They have walls of Essie, OPI, and brands even a dedicated manicure-goer hasn't seen before!

Solar eclipse nails :) I showed them a picture and they blew me away. Thanks guys! The whole design was only $15 more

I've been going to this place for a while now because they are consistently very good. I looked for a while and was so happy to find a solid place near work for a good gel manicure. I definitely recommend going on a weekday, since the weekends tend to be a bit more hectic there, and earlier in the week is better. It's a popular spot since they do such a good job. They're consistently solid, but will blow you away with their attention to detail if it's a slow night. I finally had to write a review, because tonight was the first night I asked for something unique and special. I had a particular design in mind for the solar eclipse festival I'm going to. Lisa asked if I had a picture or two to show her and sketched it out briefly to make sure we were on the same page. It would have been silly if she had tried to replicate it exactly, but she totally managed to nail the effect (no pun intended)! I'm so excited to show these off. Not to mention, the service here is always courteous and everyone is so sweet. Thank you guys!

I have been with ISSA Nails since it was open- almost 10 years or so Lisa, the owner, has been amazing as well as her staff, but today their services made me write this.

It truly creates a relaxing atmosphere. However, I've noticed that the quality of the mani & pedi has declined over the years, which has made me hesitant to return, even though it's in the most convenient location for me. These days when I returned, it's just for last minute color change to avoid more damage. I referred a friend to join me for a mani/pedi once, and she also mentioned that while the ambiance is great, but the owners should get their own mani & pedi done by their technicians, which I completely agree with. While I usually don't like getting my cuticles pushed or cut, I really appreciate that they respected that preference. However, when it comes to removing polish, it's done very recklessly with a lack of attention to detail. On several occasions, they've scraped the skin around the nails--sometimes cutting it to the point where it bled and required a bandage. When I mentioned this to the hostess after she asked for feedback, she dismissed it by saying I have sensitive skin. Since when is it normal for skin to be scraped during a mani/pedi? Additionally, I've had gel mani here twice in a row, and the technician over-shaved to the point where my nails ended up paper-thin that I have to ask the technician to apply extra coats to make up for it. One time, the technician even touched my skin with the machine that is used to shave the gel polish off. I've also had my skin scraped during pedicures, which is concerning. Every time I get a gel mani, within two weeks, the polish would start to lift on the cuticle side, which shows a lack of precision during the application. My friend got a regular mani & pedi here, and one of her nails chipped within a day. While I still love the atmosphere and the owners, the decline in the quality of the services, especially regarding polish removal, nail care, and attention to detail, has made me hesitant on coming back.

The interior design of the space is what pulled my attention when walking up 9th Ave. It is chic yet accessible and never approaches being or feeling gaudy. Very clean look (and space). Great color palate used. Very comfortable chairs. Good use of white space accentuated with green angular paint and golden decals and other ornamentations, all done minimally and with purposeful placement. Carmen (my nail tech) made good efforts and took obvious care to give me a nice buff manicure, all for only $27 (+ a small amount of tax). No nips or cuts. No pain. Textbook technique. Picked up well on when I wanted to zen out to the aura of the space and the well-curated spa playlist vs when I was open to a little nail tech kiki. Loved the sugar scrub they use for the hand massage. I take ownership for not getting the pre-cuticle work nail soak as part of the provided service. IMO, if a nail salon doesn't automatically incorporate the soak into your mani, you as the customer should speak up when the softening gel is pulled out and before it is applied. If they don't offer it? That's another thing. But I didn't test those waters and cannot speak to Nail Me Right (goodness gravy I love the business name!). So, keep in mind if the soak is your thing. They were very accommodating from the moment I arrived until I left. So I have a hunch this request wouldn't be a problem. Same with the end result. You as the customer are responsible for checking your nails / hands / feet / whatever before ending the appointment. I was late for my next appointment and did not, later seeing I would've like a little extra work done where the far end of nail edges meets the finger and a shinier buff applied. Again, I am quite sure Carmen would have accommodated had I done my part and spoken up before leaving. Still, I woke up the next morning to those slight extra bits naturally working themselves out (which points to the moisturizing measures NMR applies being of good quality), and my hand looking nice. I plan to pop in next time I'm in the area and in the market for some nail / hand / foot love, and hope you'll consider doing the same to support this family and what they're working to bring to the neighborhood.
