I arrived early near Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital & asked AI for nail salon nearby with reasonable prices- Idea Nail was recommended. I arrived around 1030 for mani/pedi & they asked if I could come back at 12- no problem. I am so happy I did! AMAZING pedicure, great manicure, very reasonably priced. I highly recommend! read more

Exceptional service from start to finish! (Now named FLAIRE) I recently walked past FLAIRE NAILS on East 62nd Street on my way to drop off shoes at the cobbler and decided to give the salon a try. I am so glad I did -- it turned out to be one of the best nail experiences I've had in a very long time. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the kindest, most thoughtful women. They asked about my needs and genuinely cared about making me comfortable. I started with a spa pedicure that was absolutely AMAZING -- relaxing, thorough, and without any push to upsell me on extra services (such a relief!). The technician took her time trimming my cuticles, smoothing away calluses, and then treated me to one of the most soothing foot and leg massages I've ever had. Between the warm water and the massage, I honestly didn't want to leave the chair. After my pedicure, I moved on to a French manicure with Cindy. My nails were in rough shape because I hadn't had them done in quite a while, but Cindy approached them with such care, skill, and patience. She was meticulous with my cuticles and clearly experienced -- I didn't have to micromanage anything. She instinctively knew the right length, shape, and tone for my nails, and the results were absolutely beautiful. We finished with hot towels and another relaxing massage -- the perfect final touch. New York City has thousands of nail salons to choose from, but FLAIRE NAILS truly stands out. In this fast-paced city, it's rare to find a place where you can slow down, be treated with genuine warmth and kindness, and walk out feeling pampered with gorgeous nails -- all at very reasonable prices. I've already decided that this will be my go-to spot for all my nail maintenance and care. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful women at FLAIRE NAILS. I can't wait to return! read more

Terrible. The girl rushed through the take off of my gel mani so roughly. I kept pulling my hand away and expressing pain and then she'd go right back to rushing and being rough. I ended up just telling her to not even worry about the manicure, just finish the take off. And yet she still rushed as if there was a client coming in directly after me. Even though I made an appointment! If they were so short on time they shouldn't have let me make an appointment. Then she wanted to tell me, "Your nails are just very sensitive".... I have never had such a rushed, painful, and careless experience. Then they still charged me $10 . read more

Loved my mani/pedi! It's now called Flaire Nail. They took a lot of care. I have this weird nail on my toe, and it usually hurts or is very uncomfortable at best, but Stephanie took great care and it didn't hurt at all. They know what they're doing. Pushing back the cuticles wasn't even noticeable, which I normally hate. Fung also did a great gel French manicure with such steady hands and hand painted the daisies. They obviously have a lot of steady customers, as evidenced by people who stopped by while I was there. I will definitely be going back. read more

So they aren't called idea nail anymore, but they are terrible whatever their name is. First, when I went in there, they immediately started helping me and left the girl who was in there before me completely by herself. They did my entire nails while they made her sit and wait with the foil on her nails, which I'm sure burned her for 30 minutes. I got the SNS powder dip manicure. The color on the nail was definitely not the color I picked, and while they did three layers on my right hand, they did only two on my left. What made me the most angry was that the lady was completely flabbergasted when I asked her if she could clean her tools first. It's like it never even occurred to her to use clean ones. The place itself was a mess and very disorganized. Also, my nails look horrible. The shape is inconsistent, the color isn't opaque on some nails, and all the nails have a bumpy texture. On top of that it was very expensive -$55! read more

Got a Mediocre manicure that wasn't clean despite saying the polish was bleeding into cuticle. Also they completely ruined my nails taking the gel off to the point where the file machine hurt the top of my nail; they shaved a ton on my actual nail bed off and now my nails have never been this weak. Huge lack in transparency with pricing, felt extremely nickel and dimed here. No salon in nyc has ever charged gel removal when you get a manicure. I will never come back and would rather pay more money for a better experience. Sad because they were very nice when I first came but I think it's just an act, it isn't sincere and the few times I've returned the manicures are not clean. I could paint my nails better. read more

I literally come from Philly just to get my nails done here!!!! I came here for the first time in April or May 2021. My usual nail place was booked, but I was in desperate need a mani/pedi. Cindy (the owner) greeted me with such enthusiasm & kindness. Not only that she made me laugh the entire time. Above all it was one of the best manicures and pedicures I have had in years. Also, in April 2021 I got an apartment in Philly so now I split my time between NYC & Philly. I can't recommend this salon enough. 5+ Stars! read more

I went to Idea Nail on whim when my local salon wasn't accepting walk-ins. However, this place has become my new go to! The two ladies working here are the absolute sweetest. We chatted the whole time I was there and I had such a nice time. Cindy did my mani while Fong did my pedi, so I was out of there in record time! I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

If I could leave a 6 star review I would!! Every worker at this salon is so kind and welcoming. They did an amazing with my dip powder chrome nails, I LOVE them! Not only do my nails look amazing they are very well done. Cindy took the time to file them to perfection, doing extra work to make sure they last until I come back again. And you HAVE to get the Spa Pedicure when you go. It is so relaxing, I felt like a pampered princess. They put lotion on, remove callus's, put something special on your heels, and you get a 10 minute leg massage. They also will match your toe color to your nail color perfectly. On top of all that their prices are extremely reasonable. I did a lot of searching around the neighborhood for a nail salon, as I am very particular about my nails, Flaire aka Idea is by far the best. Perfect nails, fair prices and wonderful people. What more could you ask for?? I will be back next time and all the times after that too! I will definitely be a forever customer read more

I dont want to write a bad review but I feel obligated to. I came in for a gel manicure but the lady convinced me to do powder so I thought why not since it's the holidays and I'm going on vacation. Its my first experience doing powder and honestly it was far from ideal. When she was using the e-file to smooth my nails, she cut into several of my cuticles. Beyond that, the my nails were not smooth and there were random black specks on some nails. It was definitely not worth $75. Honestly there's just so much cheaper and better options in the city. 2 stars because there is a really nice lady there who checked on me (and my bleeding nails). The lady who did my nail never apologized or asked if I was okay. read more

Cindy, Fong, and Sue were all amazing and accommodating to take me as a walk-in for a pedicure and manicure. I also did a 20 minute massage and purchase a base coat to help strengthen and grow my nails all for $72! The customer service is what will make me return. Many nail places consist of people who don't talk to you and make a person feel uncomfortable but these ladies made me feel welcomed. I love this place! The staff is super friendly, and they do a great job! I got a gel manicure and will definitely be returning.

Just went for the first time. The two ladies working there could not be nicer. They let me take my time choosing my color and change my mind to include two more. I showed the owner a photo and she found me colors to match. The lady doing my nails asked me every step of the way if I liked how my nails were looking. Gel nails are $35 which is great for NYC and they have tons of colors and brands to choose from (I have a mix of OPI, CND and wave on my nails bc of the colors I wanted). Highly recommend *additionally she made sure to ask the man next to me kindly but firmly to put his mask on which I greatly appreciated because not everyone will read more

The ladies are VERY nice, however the service is very subpar. As you can see, my gel pedicure came out very "bumpy" looking. In addition, they didn't clean any of the utensils or wipe out the tub. Not sure how often they clean the tub a day, but they didn't clean it before I used it, and they didn't clean it after people left.. hoping I don't get athletes foot from the "spa" day. read more

UPDATE: after I went home I noticed the polish on my toes was not applied over the whole nail. Since it was on my feet I didnt really care, but after spending $45 on what seemed like a 10 minute pedicure, I was not impressed. Additionally, my gel mani started chipping after 7 days, on multiple nails. (I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary). I figure this was because I had 3 people working on my nails at once. (Soaking off my old gel, painting my toes, painting my nails). It was quite rushed. For the $75 price tag I was sadly disappointed. I will give them 5 stars for customer service though! read more

WORST MANICURE OF MY LIFE!!! I'm not complaining about the service. They were polite, even though despite making an appointment, they still made me wait for more than half an hour. The problem I had was the quality of the manicure. The base line was super messy. The first coat doesn't cover the whole nail, and the second coat doesn't cover the whole first coat, so now I have this 3D streaking/laying nail going on, ON EVERY FREAKING NAIL!!! On top of that, they charged me more for callus removal to bring the total to $39, so I would be more likely to pay $1 extra for fast dry top coat to make the total $40 (They were speaking Korean and thought I wouldn't understand.) Save your time and money! Go somewhere else. read more

I came to this nail salon since it was close to my evening Dr appointment in the UES & had one of the best mani & pedi experiences in NYC. Money well spent. Will tell all my friends and will return soon. Just so you know it is a small place and there are only 3 ladies so try to book before 4:30pm. read more

My normal nail tech was not available and I read this place had good reviews and they do acrylics. They don't. They suggested that using powder and gel polish instead and that it would be the same. The texture didn't look right. I knew I didn't want to get nail art because gel normally chips quickly on my regular nails. It had been 4 days and it already chipped in multiple places. It cost the same thing as my acrylic fill with nail art that I normally get that last 4 weeks. Really regret getting work done here. I feel like my nails are ruined. Lesson learned. read more

Now known as, IV Nails, this small and unassuming place is a hidden gem. Located at 62nd St/2nd Av, the owner, Ivy has run the nail salon for more than 10 years. They have never advertised nor used any type of social media but people have found this place by word of mouth. I accidentally found the nail salon and have become one of their loyal customers. The gel manicure they did for me has lasted for more than 3 weeks. Despite I showed up at their place 20 mins before closing time with no appointment, they took their time without rushing It by perfecting the nail art. When I was finished with the gel manicure, it was past 40 minutes of their closing time. The outcome? They deserve 4****s with reasonable 2$$s read more

This little gem is now my go-to salon when I visit NYC on business. Cindy and Fong are delightful women who give the best mani-pedis I've ever had. They take the time to help me pick out colors (and they have a wonderful selection), they happily accommodate my special needs (due to allergies I need my own lotion), they give terrific foot and hand massages, and their gel manis and regular pedis last much longer than any others I've had. I never feel pressured or rushed, and it's a pleasure to enjoy a conversation while they're working. Their personal touch, combined with their skill, make for a lovely experience. It's a small salon -- not "fancy"-looking, but very clean, Covid-safe, and comfortable -- and currently Cindy and Fong are the only practitioners. They're open seven days a week to accommodate their clientele -- and they're worth waiting for! read more

My absolute favorite nail salon on earth!!!! I got the best mani and pedi and brow wax

This place a.k.a I.V nails a.k.a Flaire is a waste of money. Recently we went for a gel mani and reg pedi after seeing their glowing reviews among all other salons in the vicinity. First, they are nice but we were very rushed and not given time to pick out our colors. Second, I have never had any one do such a shoddy job on my nails, both pedi and mani were equally bad. They just did not paint my nails properly, the edges were uneven and sat without any lick of paint, unbelievable. Third, while removing cuticles on my fingers, she bruised the sides of my nails that it hurt for the next two days when I worked with lemon and the gel equipment was unusually hot. My friend complained that her gel nails started peeling in a week, although to be fair, her nails were very well done, and she was very happy until the gel color started peeling in a weeks time. However, my badly painted nails are still holding the polish. It was a bad experience overall and I won't be going back. read more

One of my nails (acrylic) broke the day after I got them done here & I was charged 5 dollars the next day... all I did was put on a shoe and it broke. Not only that but they were very uneven and looked like I got them done a week ago... while she was doing the same nail that broke the day after she kept talking under her breath and being very rude when I told her that there was a large space that didn't have glitter- it looked very different from the rest of the set.
