a meal in a styrofoam container

Honestly once you've gone to one Caribbean restaurant you've pretty much gone to them all but I have always heard good things about this place and I'm always on board for spending my dollar in black establishments so I visited here last night for the first time. The woman serving me was nice however in the middle of ringing me out she picked up the phone and began yelling. She hung up with the person and began ranting to me. She was cussing and getting herself all riled while hollering her woes to me..it was really off-putting. That's something you do with your girlfriends not your customers. That's always going to be my first impression of this restaurant. So I saved my plate (stewed chicken) for my lunch break today and I opened the container and was so disappointed. My large plate had the serving size of chicken as a small plate would (mind you I paid $20+). And since it sat overnight I was expecting the flavors to be good however it had no taste! Absolutely bland. I had a couple bites of the chicken and rice and put it up. I am so disappointed. I highly doubt I'll ever be back.

"Peppers, Onions, Saltfish w/ a SPRINKLE of Ackee"

Was a go-to for my Jamaican cravings but the last three orders have been terrible. Just ordered some ackee & saltfish breakfast and they should call it "Peppers, Saltfish, HELLA Oil w/ a HINT of Ackee" Large $14 dollar plate and I have more fingers than pieces of ackee. A shame. Not ordering again after today.

This here was $15 bucks! I love their dumplings but, I will never buy food from them!

This was $15 bucks I can't believe the robbery! Floor and water cost a lot! I love the dumplings but.....

This dried up and hard beef patty with cocobread is what they sold me thru Grubhub last night

This place should be ashamed, the patty was horrible and the jerk chicken was pink inside.

Love this place. It's as close as I can get to my mothers food. It's reasonably priced for the quality of the meats. And is truly authentic Jamaican food. They also have my flag hanging up, which most West Indian restaurants usually don't. ( Bahamas ) My plate was $13 for a large oxtail, Rice & peas, and they didn't even charge me for the macaroni. They offer a variety of homemade juices and teas, cakes etc. Sometimes they do act funny if you're not West Indian ( I witnessed it with my own eyes ). It's even happened to me before but I just turn my accent on. This place is truly a hidden gem in the hood.

They found is on point! They have the best jerk pork in town. Taste is great and portions are right. Can't stop eating the food.

My boyfriend loved his corn beef hash- looks small but very filling, rich and flavorful but wish it had more eggs. I didn't love the crostata. I heavily appreciated that the "greens" actually had other vegetables added to them to make it interesting and the potatoes were too crispy for me but that's personal preference. The crostata was good size and I loved the crust, I was just disappointed that it advertised goat cheese and I couldn't taste any. After eating we went inside to look at their pastry selection and they are absolutely beautiful!! We got the cream puff (gigantic and delicious), Nutella croissant (10/10 should get), and the butter cookie which was delicious but wish it was denser. The service truly blew me away and for that we Weill definitely be back to try more things.

The outdoor area is inviting, and inside there's a great mix of low-top tables, high-tops, bar seating, and cozy spots to settle into. Everything feels thoughtfully spread out, and I loved being able to see the open brick oven and activity in the kitchen. The space also has a bit of a bakery/café vibe, making it feel like a place where you could stop in for a quick grab-and-go item or stay awhile for a full meal. The staff made a great impression too. The people at the front were incredibly helpful to my guest, who was having some trouble with their phone. I also ordered one of the specialty drinks but asked for it without alcohol. The bartender absolutely nailed it--it was so good that my only complaint was that it didn't come in a bigger glass. For food, I had the grass-fed burger and fries (see photo), and it exceeded my expectations. The burger was so juicy and flavorful that I ended up cutting it into pieces just to make it manageable. Every bite was delicious. What I appreciate most is that I left feeling like I hadn't even experienced everything the restaurant has to offer. I already want to go back, choose a different seat, and enjoy a completely different perspective of the space. Honestly, it feels like the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon. This is your sign, visit now!

The staff was definitely the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the price. While the presentation was nice, the meals arrived only lukewarm and weren't as flavorful as expected for the cost. The menu prices suggest a premium dining experience, but the quality and temperature of the food didn't match that expectation. Another downside was the wait time. It took quite a while to receive our drinks, and getting the check at the end of the meal was also much slower than it should have been. The delays made the overall experience feel longer than necessary. We also noticed that our table and chairs were quite wobbly, which made dining uncomfortable and even caused some of our drinks to spill. For a restaurant charging premium prices, basic maintenance and seating comfort should be a priority. Overall, the outstanding service helped make up for some of the shortcomings, but the overpriced food, long waits, and uncomfortable seating would make me think twice before returning.

We dropped in for an early dinner for our group of 8 with kids and had a wonderful time. When you first step inside, you are welcomed with a buzzing atmosphere of live music and conversation. A beautiful bar with large TVs were available for catching the game. I got the fish and chips which I recommend. The fish was tender and flakey and the breading was a proper batter that added a nice crunch. The portion was quite large, and I was a big fan of the spiced curry sauce that came with the dish. My wife had the sausage roll which had a nice flakey pastry crust to it. The menu had quite the variety of Irish dishes, and I can't wait to come back to try more of them. The restaurant is also kid friendly. They provide crayons and coloring sheets and offer a decent kids menu. It's nice to finally have a higher end and more modern Irish restaurant that I'm certain will become a neighborhood staple.
