Came here to have some comfort food after a funeral and definitely received the pick me up I needed. The waitress was an absolute sweetheart. There was a birthday being celebrated and the music is always comforting here. I had one rum punch and sipped slow while I enjoyed my cod fish fritters. I feel like I'm back in the Caribbean for a moment and this is why I come here. I always order the codfish fritters. My friend finished her wings with no complaints. My husband & I really enjoyed our evening at Island Soul. I loved the colorful abstract mural painted on the walls. The wait staff was very welcoming & accommodating. We both ordered the brown stewed chicken & cabbage. He had the rice & peas with his. I had a mojito & my husband a rum punch, both were excellent. Throughout the meal we were commenting on how wonderful the food was. The sous chef came to our table & we gave our compliments to the chefs. Everything was so delicious, no leftovers to go. I came here for a comedy show which was separate from the restaurant, the show was good. The place is small and cozy, they sat us by the door which was opening all night, I was very cold, no where to move because the place was full. We were there early and there was six of us. We ordered our food and ppl who came in 30 min after us was eating their food. We asked the waitress what happened, she assured us our food was coming out soon. Well, 30 min later , no food, she came over and said if we order an entree, it will come out faster than appetizers, I thought that was a joke. 15 min later she came with two appetizers. My family and I came to this restaurant to celebrate life. The service and the ladies were wonderful. The ambiance was true Caribbean vide. A live Dj with good tunes. My issue is the time it took to get our food. Now it is made fresh to order but there has to be a time limit and the spice that came with it. The Oxtails over Rasta pasta was very good. The Jerk pork and the curry goat was very spicy. The drinks right on point. The rum punch I heard was the best. Over all a good time good memories. I go to out to Island Soul every week because it's close to my house. Thursday for Karoake, Friday for the D.j. and Saturday for the live music when they have it. I love the staff, the food and the vibe. I see different crowds every time and it brings a different vibe every night. The staff knows me well and are always pleasant. I usually order chicken wings, or the shrimp basket. I've also had the oxtail with rice and peas & the Rasta pasta with oxtail. I recommend it highly because a lot of times you can dance, have fun and a good vibe. read more

This was my first visiting this spot. I had heard good things about it so I decided to try it out. Cute quaint spot. There's one "VIP" booth that is very tiny. Several 2/4 seater tables . There an are for a DJ which I believe that have live on Fridays. On the Friday that I was there, there was no live DJ. The ambiance is very nice, calm. They had very nice playlist going through the speakers. The food appears made to order which is a huge plus. However, the food isn't that great. I had escoveitch wings and fries. Food came out HOT. But there was no escoveitch taste to the wings. Just peppers over top the wings. Very disappointing. I tried their codfish fritters, those were ok. Came with a side sauce which was very tasty. I swear you'll pass this place if you're driving too fast and not paying attention to your surroundings. Luckily I heard about Island Soul through a referral. I have to say my jerk chicken entree was one if the best I've had in a long time. It was so authentic, fresh and flavorful. It came with rice and peas, steamed veggies (cabbage) and two plantains. I will say the plantains were a bit hard and dry, but glad it came with the meal. I tasted the rasta pasta w/ jerk chicken from my friends plate and it too was good but spicy as all get out. Have a pitcher of water handy. The drinks are pretty good. It was nice to see one of my favs on the menu -- mango mojito. The waitress was nice and service was good. Went in last evening with a friend sat at bar met Mike the owner. This place is chill! Love the vibe laid back and relaxing. Great place to unwind after a days work. I ordered the coconut rum punch which was made with Wray & Nephew's and it definitely hit! One and done for me Lol. We had codfish fritters and jerk wings for apps and ordered oxtail with rice and peas for entrees as well as some jerk shrimp salads. The food came out a bit staggered which I normally dont care for but since everything came out hot and fresh it was ok. The fritters were tasty and the jerk wings had some serious kick but still enjoyable. The oxtail was tender and flavorful and it was a nice size portion. I think the food and drink prices very reasonable especially in this day and age. They also had a live band playing which was cool. My First Time in this "Hidden Gem" Location was September 23rd. I had ordered the jerk chicken tacos and my partner ordered jerk chicken meal. She enjoyed it every bit of it and I can truly say the same about myself . I would of loved to order the jerk chicken meal especially with the portion of food that's was given . But Sadly I'm allergic to coconut and the milk is used to make the rice and peas. After that day , this place never left my thoughts. But sadly Today October 18th we decided to do to take out. I had Ordered jerk chicken tacos, two jerk chicken meals one with rice and peas and the other with WHITE RICE . The orders took a while to be made due to a large party enjoying themselves. Which isn't a problem for me , I'll wait for "GOOD FOOD". I got the order , came home 10 minutes later BOTH ORDERS were RICE AND PEAS .I took the food back so they can fix the error . I told the bartender that the order was wrong and that im allergic to the rice. She quickly took it to the back and gave me complimentary rum punch drink to say "sorry" . I had asked for no coconut rum but i didn't checked was tooo disappointed . I seen the chef came back out quickly with the food . Taking the food , I said to myself hopefully they gave me new chicken instead of the same chicken from the old order that was just sitting in the same rice I'm allergic too. 10 minutes later ... I'm home ready to dig in . Guess What ?!? It's the same chicken sitting in the new rice with few pieces of rice and peas ...... I loved Island Soul prior to the pandemic. The food was delicious and the service was great. The service is still great but the food wasn't. When I recently ordered take-out, I ordered salmon Caribbean pasta and a vegetable Caribbean pasta. The salmon for the Caribbean pasta wasn't fresh salmon it was very thin and didn't taste the best. The vegetable Caribbean pasta didn't have the same sauce which I was really looking forward to but their recipe must've changed. On both of the orders, the food was so spicy we couldn't even finish.I'm not sure if I'll return for food but the drinks are pretty good. read more

A hidden gem!!! Came on a Friday night with my fiancé for date night. The decor was beautiful, and all of the staff was extremely friendly. The drink pricing was reasonable which is always a plus. Our food was piping hot and fresh. We had the shrimp and fries to start. The sauce and seasoning was perfect. This review is based solely on customer service since I never had the opportunity to try the food. They're a new restaurant and clearly not equipped to handle a crowd just yet. Entered the establishment and no one is there to greet you, take your name, number of patrons in your party, nothing. Multiple groups of people entering and just standing around looking for a hostess. A few left after standing around and receiving no service. Island Soul has a live band which is nice but it's so loud you must scream to talk to people you came with. Seeing how there is a live band, there are people sitting at tables listening to music and not ordering or drinking anything, just enjoying the music. Now this wouldn't be a problem if there was a designated area for people coming to enjoy music and others coming to sit for dinner. I was there waiting over an hour and told multiple times by different people, including the manager they would get my party a table but never got one. How could I, I didn't expect for them to tell groups of people to get up so we could eat when they came out to enjoy themselves and listen to music but not order anything. I'm lying, I DEFINITELY DID! We stood by the bar and as a couple got up, a group of 4 women who were also at the bar jumped up and took the table (it hadn't even been cleaned off yet). The waiting area is small and doubled as some sort of "private section" because people sat there with drinks they ordered in the bucket that is provided by Island Soul while others were waiting to be seated (but of course would not be because NO ONE TOOK THIER INFORMATION!!!) They have some growing pains that need to be addressed. As with most small business, especially the ones just starting out.
