This used to be one of our favorite places to camp. We've had two bad experiences here in the last…read moreyear. The neighboring campers have had loud parties well past the quiet hour curfew. This last time, it was several days in a row. We will not be returning.

It's literally across from the fishing area, picnic area, farthest from the traffic and road noise. The water has a fountain and ongoing movement of water, perhaps that's why it seems more natural looking vs stagnant and gross. Most of this area and the opposite side of the river is undeveloped so it has a nature feel that most campsites I've been to don't give. And I've been to lots of them. My Hubby and sons caught like 7, 8, and 20 fish they said. All catch and release. Tons of catfish & bass. Some are so huge. Keep staring at the water near the small metal dock there and you might see them all. We are in site 122. The road noise woke me up at 6am, so I put in my earplugs and slept until 9am. For my future self, make sure to keep a permanent earplug stash in the RV. Other times I've been in other sites and the noise wasn't an issue and we've stayed here at least 3-4x. It's not glamorous, it doesn't have a ton of extra like a pool, putting greens, pool table, snack bar, etc. But it does have a small, shaded kids play area, volleyball net, basketball hoop, shaded picnic tables. It's so country feeling and relaxing. Its quiet & thats what I prefer when I go camping. This is one of my favorite camping spots in the cooler months of early Spring like March. One day I'd like to come here & camp on my way to Yosemite or Kings Canyon. Great rates & highly suggest.

The on-site management Petra and Denny are super friendly and are available to answer any questions. They have very clean bathrooms and showers as well as a nice laundry room. There is a really nice playground with basketball court. As well as a few other yard games. Again if you want a nice and quiet RV park, you must try this one.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST RAFTING COMPANY IN THE STATE of California! Super UNSAFE in a multitude of ways…read more Staff is awful. There is bad stuff going on after hours between the leadership on site and the staff members in keeping pecking order and favorites which bleeds into the actual running of things day & day out. Food isn't kept at proper temperatures & stored properly. The road trip up and down in the bus is just unbelievably allowed to be used despite its requiring people to get all on one side of the bus to keep the bus from tilting in a bad way to get to the need places. I lost my ACL due to being rushed to hurry while disbarking with the many seasons with this company bus driver who lives in his van year around at the ski company up in Mammoth and at this lame place. The couple who managed this location the woman is dark energy big time. Like really yucky fake while piercing looking at people like she has a bug she is killing and power tripping to the max. The worst experience I have ever had in my life was my five days with this staff at their Miramonte, CA location on the Kings River. Be Warned!!!

My daughter started going to this camp 25 years ago and stayed for 10 years! She got her 10-year jacket, which she still has, and used her GAC blanket through college. She looked forward to camp every year and every year she would come back a very happy, content, and more independent than she was when she left. Worth every dollar we spent!

Twas his very first stint staying at an overnight camp. He enjoyed it so much, that he wants to ret'n for 1mo! From what he tells me, he likes the variety of activities: archery, hi-ropes, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing, riflery, ziplining, hiking, backpacking, waterskiing, wake boarding, mountain climbing, camping, art & crafts. The bus picks up the kids at the Cheviot Hills Rec Center. Then you do not see nor speak with them until they return. The only correspondence permitted is via email or USPost. They also post daily picks of the kids at play to the web site. Twas a great way to help build a kid's sense of independence. That was my motivation to send mine here. We're both happy. I only had marbles and a fishing pole when I was in camp! (lol) *** Gold Arrow is pricey but it is a great way to cut the cord. ***

2025 Jun 3: Wawona Point (5 of 5)…read more Elevation Range: 5,093' - 6,805' (source: trail site) Estimated Time: 4 hours Round Trip: 8.04 (from where we parked: return) Difficulty: Moderate Our Hike Route: Back way to the Perimeter Trail towards Mariposa Grove, and up to Wawona Point To appreciate beauty, one must always accept some ugliness. Though The Sierra National Forest opens up its beauty to us, there are things we noticed that may have been scarred by either humans or from forest fires. The start of our trail was level and easy. The trail, in all its glory, boasts of its natural state: mountainous, rocky, uneven, and some elevation changes. We started early, but not early enough to make the 8-hour hike up and down. The lovely morning sun that offered us warmth, comfort and energy began to beat down on our backs as the sun's rays turned hot. Most of the trails were exposed and open, except for a few shady spots. (Note: Dress in layers, and bring plenty of water and a light snack.) Along the way, we had the pleasure of seeing a deer family enjoy the food that nature spread out for them, and gray squirrels hopping from one rock to another. Even the majestic trees that graced the forest floor that was burnt inside-out presented themselves in a beautiful light. The birds were our guides: singing and chirping as we hiked. The sad moment was seeing graffiti on tree trunks and rocks, and trash that humans left behind. We didn't bring a big bag this time, so we could not pick up all the trash that we noticed on the ground. The incredible moment was when we noticed volunteers cutting, shaping and clearing the shrubs along the way. We stopped to thank everyone of them. Miguel, one of the volunteers allowed me to take a snapshot of him. Four hours later, on the way down, the volunteers were still hard at work. Our appreciation for them went up tenfold. We were also surprised and grateful that the toilets were clean. Wawona Meadow greeted us with a panoramic viewpoint of Yosemite National Park. The stunning views of Wawona Meadow and Wawona Dome was a sight to behold on this clear sunny day. I think this is a hike worth doing.

The card provides free access to all National Parks and 50% off for parking, boat launching and camping too! Just bring in I.D. and appropriate documentation. For questions, I highly recommend calling in advance. Ask for Jamie, who is one of the ladies at the front desk. She is quite helpful and kind. Overall, the office has lots of great info for National parks and great activities like skiing, hiking, camping, fishing and all things wilderness. They also have a plethora of maps, booklets, handouts, guides and related information. I was even tempted to buy their "Smoky the Bear" stuffed animal. I remember his slogan from my childhood, "Only YOU can prevent forest fires."

I had a camping trip to Yosemite National Park planned in September and knew I wanted to propose to my Fiancé while on the trip and didn't know exactly how I would plan this. We are avid outdoor/hikers and love horses. When I found Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventures, I knew that this was the PERFECT place for me to propose to the love of my life. I wasn't quite sure how the proposal would go down to begin with, but Cami and the entire team made the experience unbelievable. I felt like part of the family and cannot thank them enough. They scouted out various different locations along the route for the spot prior to my arrival and communicated with me every step of the way. Jolene found the location on the trail, and was our guide. We did a private trial ride as I wanted the experience to be intimate. Jolene was INCREDIBLE and we cannot thank her enough. She was an expert guide and made the entire experience a memory we will never forget. Jolene took pictures for us and planned the entire proposal location, she was fantastic in every regard. The horses were beautiful and looked extremely well taken care off and loved. The trail ride itself was the best we have been on, and we have done quite a few. It was beautiful, fun going through the creeks and riding up/down the mountainsides. We cannot thank Cami, Jolene and the entire Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventure Team for the memory and experience of a lifetime, and we cannot wait to do it again!

We spent about 3 or so hours playing & exploring. It's really meant for younger ages,probably up until about 10-11. My son is going to be 11 next week & loved it because he loves dinosaurs, digging & science. Not sure i would go out of my way to go back, only because we don't live locally but if we lived in fresno I would consider getting a membership. They have a lot of great programs throughout the week which would be great for school field trips or homeschooling co-ops.

Anywho, the dude and I come here before the Pandemic and I can tell you that traffic definitely increased when the pandemic occurred as we would not see many people. Anywho, the first time I came to this park which is just across the street from our living quarters. The first time Clovis PD was there removing the homeless camps. Behind Letterman park there is a beautiful canal that has a princess path to get to it and this is where we saw duck couples and followed the same duck couple until they had babies of their own and started to feed their family. The park has a skate park attached to it, grassy areas, play structures and seating. Over the 5 or 6 months we have been frequenting this park we have seen which the pandemic came through and they had to shut down the park by putting caution tap all around. We seen people camp out here, do exercise classes and homeless roaming which he didn't see a lot of that before the pandemic. We walk out there all hours of the day and night. We bring flash lights as it gets pretty dark. We have met a lot of amazing people like a woman for the past 17 years will come out and feed abandoned domestic cats which there are about 10 of them. A really cool homeless dude that gives us updates on our duck babies and action going on. Teens out late probably up to no good. Met a father of three who was a cool dude who was laid off due the pandemic and his kiddos were so adorable! We see Clovis PD in back of the park all the time! So this park gets A LOT of action. However since it's so close we come here A LOT and will continue to do pandemic or not!

A great green grassy area was there with huge trees for shade that was great to run around in and little stands to watch the skateboarders although we just climbed up and down them. Overall I would come back, we stayed on our end of the park as the other seemed to have some homeless people at the picnic benches, they seemed harmless, but I don't want to risk anything happening so we stayed on our end. There was a trail too along the canal there with a fence which was nice as you don't want the kids to run into it or fall in.

We did get a cabana as well with our own personal host who would come check on us and see if we wanted to order anything. It also had a propane grill, ceiling fan and tv as well. Plus it came with 6 tubes for the one we requested. They also did a foam party and my boys had a blast playing in it. Overall all the experience is always fun and never any issues.
