If you are Caribbean and you from Miami or Lauderdale please go somewhere else and save your money because this place is for people who don't know Island food. The rice and beans are dry and the meat is overly cooked. The fish was not brown stew. They are probably not the place to eat until they get some experience and a better cook. read more

Never have menu items.. and it takes them so long to come out with the food you would think they have to go skin the chickens and pick the veggies. She never has anything ready at opening hrs, might as well change the open time because nothing is ready until dinner. read more

I stopped in here because I was in the plaza. First of all the atmosphere was atrocious. It was so dark in there and the lady didn't even greet me or anything. I got 1 beef patty and ting she charged me 5$ for the ring and 4 for the patty. Even though the menu had a completely different price. Then when I asked about it she said it's 5$ and she didn't know where I was looking because that's the price. As it standing right now I feel so sick after eating the patty and don't even want to try the ting. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I hope no one else goes in there and gets sick like me. read more

IT WASNT JUST ONE MAGGOT IT WAS SO MANY I COULDNT COUNT I'm still in shock IM SO MAD IM SHAKING never seen anything like that in my entire life!! I want to cry so bad And the lady just kept making excuses and they all were pointing the finger at each other instead of taking responsibility the lady claims she just cooked it and doesn't know how that happened! I wanted to cry because I bought a seamoss drink from them and drank it before my food came out and the lady didn't want to refund the drink only the food!!! She asked me not to leave a bad review but since they didn't refund me for my drink and now my mind is worried if I drink something disgusting then it's only fair that I leave a review. NASTY NASTY NASTY TRUST UR GUT BECAUSE I HAD A GUT FEELING THIS PLACE WAS NASTY WHEN I WALKED IT . I didn't get a pic because they were all surrounding me and I told them I wouldn't leave a review because they were all panicking and asked me not too so I couldn't take it in front of them. read more

The jerk chicken was great. I really enjoyed it was seasoned good very tasteful. Their peas and rice was not all that but their jerk chicken really made up for it and their drinks are pretty tasty as well. The sorrel ginger was good. read more

I purchased a large oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage. The cabbage was okay but the oxtails were dry and FULL of fat, the rice and peas had very little flavor and I didn't get any plantains. The portion of oxtails definitely wasn't worth $28 and to top it off, the service was as bad as the food. I'm Jamaican so I know what good food is supposed to taste like. I would never eat from this place again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I woke up today wanting a good juicy, oxtail meal. I usually order from a certain establishment but they were closed as today is Sunday. I am so upset that this is the place I picked. The cabbage was so DRY I could rub two leaves together and start a California brush fire. The rice and peas were okay. But the STAR of the meal was so disappointing. The oxtail had no gravy. They were also so tough, It felt like I was chewing on someone's knobby kneecaps. So tough I thought they were gonna get up and fight me. So tough I thought the animal was still alive. I hate this place. Y'all know y'all wrong for not putting one crystal of salt or a flake of pepper on that dry ass cabbage. If y'all ain't wanna be open on Sunday just say that. read more

I called to place an order and they answered and told me they were closed... it was a hour prior to closing

I have tried this location twice and both times I found the meals to be sub par. The oxtail on both occasions was not tender and the portions were disappointing 3/4 pieces for a large plate is unacceptable. Even the large chicken dishes were less than the equivalent of a quarter leg chicken chopped. This is the first Jamaican restaurant I have ordered from where the portions are so small for a large dinner and the dishes are about 3-5$ more expensive than most other restaurants. The cabbage was bland and the presentation was poor. I will say the jerk chicken had good flavor but again the portion was less than what I would expect for a large plate, roughly about 4 pieces. I don't think I will visit again a third time because you do feel ripped off when you spend almost 70$ for 3 plates and the portions are so skimpy. read more

The best Jerk chicken in town, with the most moist chicken possible!!! Love it!! Give it try!! It will knock your socks off!!!

My son and I ordered the jerk chicken-me with 'food' (banana, dumplings, and yam) and him with rice and peas and cabbage. The rice and peas were dry without any gravy, the cabbage had no seasoning, and for my meal, the best part was the dumplings, banana, and yam. The Jerk Chicken was IMPECCABLY cooked, not dry or undercooked at all, but it was borderline flavorless. It SMELLED like jerk chicken should smell, but that was about it. My other son ordered the fish and chips. The fries were so greasy they were inedibly soggy. My wife ordered a large Stew Chicken. Hers was the best tasting chicken out of the bunch, and had a nice flavor that tasted as good as it smelled. Also impeccably cooked chicken, and although there was AGAIN no gravy, it was seasoned very well and had a very nice taste. But again, the rice and peas were dry, and the cabbage unseasoned. Ordered some Bammy and Plantains on the side. Growing up in NYC, I'm used to getting plantain from a multitude of different restaurants (Chinese food spots, Latin food restaurants, and West Indian restaurants), but I have NEVER had plantains as soggy as from this establishment. The bag that the bammy and plantains were in, although no liquid seemingly seeped out of either Styrofoam container that they were in, was STICKY with grease. I longed for my deceased Jamaican mother's cooking, and decided to give this place a shot. I'm honestly sorry that I did. read more

I ordered a large oxtails with heavy gravy. They didn't put ANY gravy on the plate. The little bit of gravy was in the bag. The oxtails were too tough to eat. The cabbage tastes like nothing. Food was horrible! Perood! Service mad slow...and no one was in there. Skip this place.

Food was delicious I ordered the escovitch fish and jerk chicken. I would definitely order again.

Don't really care for the food. But it wasn't bad. I probably won't order from again. I miss the east side carribean food .

I had out of town company craving Jamaican food and we decided to order here. I decided to order the jerk chicken because I've never had any bad jerk chicken cooked from a Jamaican restaurant. Terrible assumption, jerk chicken taste like it came from a Banquet frozen dinner, the plaintains were just baked banana with no seasoning and the cabbage had no seasoning at all, we even added salt to our Mac and cheese‍. My guests shared the same sentiments so we cut our losses and ordered pizza instead. read more

Straight no chaser: Nice spot from the outside. Dark and a bit dreary on the inside. Seemed reasonably clean tho. Had the jerk chicken dinner. Jerk was grilled, moderately spicy/medium heat with Good taste, maybe B--. Rice and peas tasted like something you would get out of a rice A Roni box. Grade: D. Cabbage was ok: C. Service... she was not unfriendly but certainly not friendly. You have to bag your own food which was an interesting touch. Service grade was about C-. Overall, decent fair, but not quite what you would hope for at an island paradise... read more

Meh... If you need to get your fix of Caribbean food, this location leaves something to be desired. Had curry goat which could've used a bit more seasoning, some melt in your mouth (not in a good way) rice & peas, and watery cabbage. The plantains were probably the best part of the meal. Was $9.50 for a the small curry goat, about right for the area I guess. Probably won't be returning. On the voyage to find the perfect Caribbean restaurant in the area... I just ate here for the first time today. The chicken patties were delicious. My jerk meal was good as well, but I missed the carrots or some other vegetables in my cabbage. Lastly, I had chocolate cake which was very moist and fresh. Nice size portions. A little expensive but worth it. *The owner was reading a bible when we walked in. Very nice lady and fast service. read more

In a nice area. The restaurant is decorated in the theme of an island type restaurant. It was very clean. I ordered several items for take out for my family. they have several varieties of Jamaican style patties, but we chose the hot and mild beef patties. They were large, warm and delicious treats. We cut them into smaller pieces to use as appetizers. We also had the opportunity to sample the oxtail with rice and peas and the curried goat. Both dishes were well seasoned and the meat was very tender. They were accompanied by a side of steamed cabbage and sweet, ripe fried plantains. This is NOT a 4 star big fancy city restaurant. In comparison to other mom and pop type small restaurants, this restaurant is clean, friendly and the food is delicious. read more
