Three songs into this man's set the only tables still occupied were close to the road, as far away from his speaker as possible. My husband ordered the Clam Basket, he said very little flavor , The onion rings were bland as well he mentioned ( Crispy but bland) The oysters on the half shell though were very fresh and we were satisfied with those. My husband had the coleslaw and he said it tasted " off"". I had the Lobster Stew ( which was very good I will add.) The cornbread was very dry and lacked flavor. I ordered a Shrimp Roll thinking it would be more like a lobster roll with mayo , they were frozen fried shrimp on a toasted bun ( very dry no tarter sauce , just cocktail sauce ) and French Fries that were definitely frozen not hand cut . The atmosphere is good , there is a very nice view of Lincolnville Beach. The service was fantastic, our waitress had a great personality and was cheerful and accommodating! They're always helpful and charge the best prices I've ever seen. If they don't have exactly what you're looking for up at the main building, they'll go pull fresh lobsters for you from their docks. They also have great recommendations for other seafood you might be interested in locally (muscles, clams, crab, etc.) On Vinalhaven, your only choice is to support local, just the way it should be!

If you call with enough advance notice, she will steam them for you & you can get creative about eating them at a place of your choosing if home is not nearby. It sounds like half an hour is the bare minimum for calling ahead, and she'd probably appreciate much more advance notice than that to be able to plan her day. I am not local so I called in advance for steamed lobsters, drove to a different store to buy shears and butter, picked up my lobsters and had a picnic at a park. I've been to dozens of lobster pounds all over Maine and the flavor and texture of these lobsters beat them all. I don't know if Kerry really has the cook time dialed in, they were exceptionally fresh, the season was perfect or all three- but the texture and flavor were both spot on. Any time I'm in the area this will be where I get my lobster! But once again, NOT a restaurant.
