There are plenty of choices for dining here. Dining room, lounge or outside. We chose outside even though there was karaoke going on. The outside area is very nice with a variety of table sizes and Adirondack chairs. Our server quickly took our drink order and brought drinks. The menu has lots of appetizers and then a variety of sandwiches, salads and entrees. I settled on the chicken piccata which came with a choice of a vegetable and starch and either soup or salad. The daily soup was a corn chowder so that was my choice. We waited and waited and waited for my husband's crab bisque soup to arrive. 35 minutes later it showed up. Then we waited another 20 minutes for my soup and his salad. My soup was barely warm, and yes it was corn chowder but the corn flavor was overwhelming. I make it at home and it was nothing like this. Another 25 minutes later and our entrees showed up. At that point I wasn't even interested in food and just wanted to leave. The chicken had a great lemon flavor but the outside of the chicken was so crispy that it was hard to cut and then eat with a plastic fork. The green beans were good and the teeny bit of rice they gave me was fine. Overall it was a bad experience. We were there over 2 hours, sitting on hard metal chairs. I forgot that we never got the basket of bread or refills on water.

Our seventh time back in Cedar Key, this time for our 33rd anniversary. We've stayed at the Island Hotel five of these times it's always a pleasure. The island and this hotel seem to encourage comradery...doesn't matter where you are from, how old you are, etc. People smile and say hi, and even hug each other in restaurants and the hotel's tiny bar. Great place to remove yourself from the crazy rest of the world. Built in 1869, with a very interesting history, the hotel's rooms are quaintly decorated with beautiful quilts and antique-y beds, clean and comfortable, although some could use a couple of small chairs in which to relax or at least put on your shoes. The owners are ever-present and friendly, and dear Angie in the bar is an amazing woman! The food is very good, and the crab bisque absolutely incredible....my husband doesn't even like crab, but he orders this every time...try it!

We celebrated our 48th Anniversary here! This was our first time dining and we could not have been more pleased with the location, ambiance, service, and last but not least the Food! A delicious meal to top off our special day...five star in every way!

We had Christmas day dinner this past year, and the food and service was wonderful. Everyone was warm and welcoming. We came back a few days later and hung out at the bar with my husband's best friend since kindergarten. Had a great time.

What an amazing place. Chaulked full of history the Island Hotel is an amazing place to stop for dinner. The staff was super nice and attentive. They offered suggestions and we didnt have to wait to have our needs met. They start off with a house salad and have the standard dressings, however, the house french vinegarette is too die for. My wife had the fish katarini with mahi mahi and i had the Calypso angel hair pasta with chicken. Both meals were exceptional....my wife being a vegetarian could say enough about the way the fish was cooked....this meal was the house special at $27...fresh mahi at thst price is really unheard of. My dish was perfect on all levels....I am usually not a white sauce person as I find that white sauce leaves me feeling heavy and full....not on this dish...it was bursting full of flavor with fresh spinach, mushrooms, onion, garlic and sun-dried tomatoe. The atmosphere is like a fine dining experience at half the cost. PLEASE DONT CHANGE A THING

So they operate both restaurants out of the same location. 2nd street cafe for breakfast and lunch and Steamers for dinner. Our server did say they are planning to build a new building somewhere, but i'm not really sure where. We had the gator bites to start, they were pretty good. And I had pasta Alfredo with grilled salmon on top, which was fantastic. And my husband had the seafood pasta. Also, there was a special for margaritas, and they were very tasty as well.

There wasn't a hostess there when we showed up and then three servers took turns to say hold on for the hostess and then had no accountability when they said, 'I don't know where she is..'. Finally somebody said they were full up and tried to scare us with a 30 - 45 min wait when there were obvious tables open. We tried to understand what was going on and asked the next up server if they just didn't have the servers which made them a little friendlier. Then all of sudden a huge group left so the next server had no choice to seat us. Meanwhile, several other customers showed up behind us which put more pressure on the service. The next up server left to go clean an available outside table, and then 10 seconds later another server came up and tried to steer us away again saying no seats are open. We told this new server the next server got us to straighten out their lack of communication, and they readmitted they didn't know where the hostess was. We ended getting seated and waited another 15 to have our drink order put in. She seemed busy so we ended up putting in everything in at the same time. I had the clams and a pretzel, my wife had the shrimp rice bowl. Everything did come out fresh and super salty and not very good. Drinks were strong and mid, I won't go there again.

If you enjoy a rich decadent gooey brownie with a generous portion of vanilla bean ice cream, this will be the dessert for you. They also had Key Lime Pie, sizzling Apple Pie and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Treasure Camp Restaurant is well off the beaten path, but the food makes the drive worthwhile. If you have a boat you can also arrive that way. There are some cabins, but we did not look at them . A boat ramp is adjacent to the Restaurant and Store. We drive from Dunnellon about an hour away, we were told that they have frequent diners who come from Crystal River and Homosassa Springs which is even further. Most people would not make this trip unless the food made it all worthwhile. We would definitely make the drive back here again!

Oh, worth mentioning...it was my Birthday. Didnt even get a "Happy Birthday" after mentioning it to our waitress. My mother had to get a refill from the bar. The more we eat the more we realize this wasn't what we ordered, but rather the Shrimp Scampi variant. We call for the manager who argues with us over what an Alfredo sauce is which clearly it is not...he swears it is and that it has separated into God knows what as all we see is a soppy mess of butter and garlic. I show him a picture from Yelp of another customer's Alfredo from the restaurant we are CURRENTLY sitting in and told this is an old picture...We both realize we're getting gaslit as we know what an alfredo sauce is and had the exact dish so we know what it looks like. We agreed that we ate the food and will pay the price for the scampi dish they served us which is $2 cheaper than what we actually ordered. They refused to lower the bill so we left and paid without tipping. I've never had an experience quite like this where the manager will not even work with you. Not even an apology...we will never be back here again. You can judge for yourself if that looks like Alfredo to you. If you want straight seafood, this place might be alright, but the service we received was absolutely terrible.

We secured a table right by the water. After reading reviews and checking out the menu, my wife and I both ordered the almond crusted fish with lobster cream sauce and with fries, cole slaw and hush puppies.
