Visiting a friend who wanted us to give Island Hideout a try. We enjoyed a meal while catching up with each other. If biscuits and gravy are on the menu, especially in the south, I gotta give it a try. Mine came with two eggs and a generous portion of gravy. I liked the gravy a lot -- the sausage was very tasty. The biscuits were good. I like a fluffier, buttery-er biscuit but these were pretty good. My eggs were ordered over medium but were a little on the easy side -- I find everyone has a different idea of done-ness terms when it comes to eggs. I may switch to scrambled for future orders! Hubs ordered the French toast with strawberries. He said it was very tasty but a little underdone, needed a little crisping up. Friend ordered her usual breakfast tacos. I tasted a bite -- very good! The sausage really shined in that taco! Cute medium size space with a patio. We ate inside due to it being August. Server was very efficient and friendly. We had a great breakfast at the Island Hideout! My husband got the breakfast tacos and they were very big and filling! I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on Texas Toast and it was so great! Nice and neat and plenty fresh! We had a very attentive waiter even when things got busy. The vibe is nice and the restaurant itself is maintained and decorated nicely! So they are disorganized when you arrive and how they check in people but once seated and we ordered things def turned around. We had the crab cake benny, the breakfast burger and a side biscuit and gravy. The breakfast burger is super unique. A bagel with cream cheese and bacon cheeseburger crazy but good. Great 'off the main drag' for breakfast! Friendly staff. Generous portions and good pricing for the island. Get there before 10a or it fills up quick - smallish seating area but does have outdoor seating too. My only complaint and it's barely one - if you like some spice,the home fries were not seasoned much. Would definite recommend this place and come back. read more

I love the Island Hideout. My wife and I go there for Brunch many days. It's not on the main road so you have to look for it. Our favorite is their Chicken Salad. They make a great omelet also. Service is excellent we always sit with Rhonda . Very personable. Try it once and you'll go back again and again. Indoor and outdoor seating. read more

We stopped here after a fishing charter that we did and were very pleased. The staff was friendly and efficient. They also helped to answer any questions that we had since we are from out of town. I got the breakfast sandwich which was delicious. They also have daily drink specials. We went on a "Tequila Tuesday" where the Tequila Sunrise was only $5. On Mondays, the special is mimosas! The only down side was that the outdoor tables were over a patch of mud and we were getting mud on our shoes and our legs while we were sitting. Clean place and nice bathrooms. How do you have eggs Benedict and not have poached eggs? a simple search defines Eggs Benedict as a classic American breakfast dish consisting of an English muffin topped with Canadian bacon, a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce We asked our server and she said that most people have their eggs Benedict with a fried egg or scrambled eggs. A scrambled egg sandwich on an English muffin is commonly called an "Egg McMuffin". It consists of scrambled eggs, cheese, and often ham or bacon, served on a toasted English muffin. Needless to say, we left and went to Doreen's for breakfast... While I wish them well, they need to figure things out. read more

It was not that busy - and it took forever for everything from busing tables- getting menus - ordering - getting our food- paying - literally everything took forever. I visited Island Hideout on a Wednesday morning in the summer with 3 children (8, 10, 12). Restaurant wasn't crowded and the kids enjoyed the french toast and I really enjoyed a Benny's. The Eggs Benedict was not great (basically thin sliced ham for the Canadian bacon, with a fried egg and tough English muffin), while someone else in our group really enjoyed the Crabcake Benedict. While the service was friendly, it was very slow. They only had two servers for entire restaurant, it took us almost 25 minutes to pay our check. Stopped in for a late breakfast. Service was good and food was average. Kind of off the beaten path so you probably won't just happen upon it. I had eggs and sausage and was a little surprised to find out that toast wasn't included. Cannot say that I have had that happen when ordering over easy eggs before. Prices were very reasonable considering Marco but the $3 for toast was a bit of a turnoff for me. read more
