I wouldn't recommend going there. I had a few questions about my car, but he either ignored me or was being disrespectful. He yelled at me, told me to leave, and shut the gate on me. Terrible experience. Would never recommend anyone to go here ever again!!!! read more

Wow talk about getting what you pay for. Patrick does an incredible job with cars and making them clean. The seats were taken out and everything was cleaned up. Even after the dirtiest and messiest thing you've ever seen. He's easy to schedule and easy to talk and what can get clean and not. They did an awesome job getting paint from bumping something out. While you don't need a brand new car every year it sure does feel like we got one. read more

Island Detail - The car looks brand new! - Auto Detailing Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Pat and his team were a pleasure to work with. My Subaru had water intrusion from a sunroof drain clog which was quite a stressful problem to solve. I consider myself lucky by finding this shop, they went the extra mile! I highly recommend this business. read more

My car had a terrible leak and water overflowed from my trunk, spilling underneath the carpeting of the entire vehicle. I called around and learned that many shops don't know how to treat this issue properly. Island Detail is one of the few shops that knows what they're doing when it comes to cleaning up water leaks. You have to pull back the carpeting, dry everything out, and replace the pads. Not every shop will bother with this effort, but it's necessary unless you want mold growing in your vehicle (or worse). Pat got me into his shop when everyone else was booked out. He fixed the issue quickly, went over all the costs with me in detail, and was communicative throughout. The leak was coming from multiple sources, and it took a few tries to properly troubleshoot the problem and resolve all the leaks, but Pat saw me through until the issue was fully resolved. This is what I would call good, old-fashioned service. It's clear that Pat knows his stuff and has been doing this work longer than most in Seattle. I highly recommend Island Detail. read more

I have no issue with the work done on my car except him not touching my headlight lenses which are still cloudy. What I have an issue with and what I'd caution other potential customers about is the busines practice of the shop. I saw what they quote for a full detail on there website and while high, I've had other cars detailed by this shop and I know the quality of their work so I said go ahead. After telling me he'd need the car for 3 days, he informed me when I was in an Uber headed to his shop to pick the car up that he'd need it for longer. He said Friday. When I was on my way, again in an Uber, to pick it up Friday, I get a text saying he had to run an errand and would be back by 4pm. So I wait outside for 1/2 hour. Today is Tuesday and I got his invoice. it's for almost double the listed price. I'm getting charged for multiple items that I wasn't told about nor authorized. My suggestion is to get a written estimate so you won't be shocked. You also might want to record any conversations as the owner has a sketchy memory. read more

I have known Pat Mcquaid, owner of Island Detail for many years. he is a person of high integrity and it is born out in the quality of his service. He always goes above and beyond expectations!!! a TRUE PROFFESIONAL! Byron Tate Founder or Tru-Line Seattle and Bellevue (retired) read more

I had an excellent experience with the owner, Patrick - who really knows his cars. I drove to his shop, and without an apnt, he dropped everything to help me. He fixed my broken tail lights, battery, and windshield wipers. He replaced bulbs and wipers at no charge. And didn't even want me to pay him for his service. Well, I was GLAD to pay him for his excellent efficiency and work ethic. Patrick was caring and honest with me. For any future car work I might need, I'll be going to Island Detail! laurel P read more

When you're looking for a detailing shop that will do a great job, the key is to find one run by a passionate, meticulous and obsessive car nut with incredibly high standards. Pat is all of those things and more. To call Pat "detail oriented" is an extreme understatement. You can be confident that he will discover every last thing that's off about your car and find a way to correct it, right down to that nut that was missing inside my rear view mirror and caused it to wiggle ever so slightly. The work at island detail goes beyond just cleaning and shining, too. When my in laws gave us their old hand me down car, we were excited to have something with more room but it was a complete disaster. It smelled bad, looked bad, and we had no idea if any of the maintenance had been done. Pat and his team cleaned it up and gave it the 1000 point inspection. Now it looks fantastic and I feel very confident that it's safe for my wife and daughter to use every day. Thanks, Pat!! read more

This is simply the best detail place hands down. The owner, Pat is so detail oriented and knows cars better than anyone I've ever met. Highly Recommended! read more

Wow! Came back to get my car and it looked new! I didn't want to sell it. Patrick is a detail guy after my own heart. This is what a car detail should be. Yes, it's more expensive, but I easily got $1000 more for the car than I would have. He is so meticulous that he pulled the wheels off so he could paint the drums silver. That way they wouldn't look rusty through the spokes of the wheels. I didn't ask for that, he just did it. Best in town! read more

This topnotch business is very professional and definitely detail oriented. The owner Patrick suggested and helped me with getting a new bumper for my car before his excellent work began. We had several conversations together to make sure the coordination of it all worked for my schedule. Patrick and company are protectionists and he saw little things with my car that I wouldn't have even noticed. He quoted a price at the beginning and stuck with it. There were no surprise add ons. He also didn't do work that wasn't necessary. When I drive my car it's just not clean, IT'S NEW! I give this company 10 stars. Thank you Patrick and Island Detail!!! read more

Truly top drawer. I too was referred to Patrick by a trusted mechanic and can't say enough positive things about the whole experience. Not only did I end up with a like-new car, but I learned so much about my car, other cars, care of cars, keeping cars clean, and so on. Patrick is a font of knowledge and gave me maintenance tips, practical advice, and even cleaning tips that don't appear to be to his advantage. The car looked brand new when it was done. Forget brake dust, even the nicks in the wheels from curbing were cleaned out. It really did look brand new. It wasn't just "cleaned," it was detailed. That means little things like the loose ashtray was repaired, a jiggling door handle was miraculously solidified, a missing emblem on the engine was replaced, a missing spring clip in the trunk was fixed -- all without me even mentioning them and all included in the price. (I did pay a little to have a broken hose repaired, but that was appropriate because parts had to be ordered). This is a full service shop. It may appear to cost a little more on the surface, but the investment is worth it, not just for your car, but for your car's future. I've found my lifetime detail shop in Seattle. read more

Pat does strong, meticulous work. I brought in a 4Runner with rust and mud all over engine and the chassis. He made it look new again. Looked like a different car when he was finished! read more

Pat at Island Detail is is the most detailed person that i've ever met when it comes to caring for cars! I can't imagine getting better results elsewhere. Going the extra mile and giving guidance on how to care for your are added values that Pat always offers. I thought I was picky with my car...but Patrick puts me to shame! He is the most careful and meticulous person you will ever meet. He is incredibly honest, and will never BS you. Old fashioned service and honest advice. Pat is extremely detail oriented and will bend over backwards to make something work. We bought a used car which he kindly inspected (for free) and then did a bumper to bumper tune up for a reasonable price. A lot of work and extras are included at no additional cost. Highly recommended. The reliability and attentiveness is hard to find at other places. read more

I was playing tourist in Seattle when my kid got seriously carsick. I couldn't stand to be in the car without the stench overcoming me. It was the 3rd of July and just about every detailer I called would see me for 2 weeks, or July 5th at the earliest. I was fortunate enough to get in touch with Pat and he was able to get it cleaned up and I was able to pick up the car at the end of the day. Normally he would take a couple of days to do a thorough detail, but he was willing to work with me and help me out. If I lived in Seattle, I'd bring my car back for a thorough detail. read more

I had a GREAT experience today at Island Detail. Pat the owner and his staff were nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend this establishment for all of your automotive and detailing needs. Thank you Pat! read more

In the past Pat has done a great job on my car. In my last experience he failed to do what he said he would. (Touching up paint, and an interior scratch) When I told him I was unhappy with the service, he said I was just trying to get something for free (after paying top dollor for a detail). He then became very rude and said I was always trying to get things for free. I had always paid him what he asked in the past happily. Island detail has lost it's attention to "Detail" and become an overpriced shop that doesn't deliver. Beware of this shops high cost and mediocre serivce. There are other places in town half as much that will do a better job. read more

I call Patrick at Island Detail my "OCD" detail guy. He has found an outlet for his obsessive compulsive disorder and we all benefit from it. Your car will look brand new when you pick it up. They clean things I didn't even know needed cleaning like the underside of your car, and behind the ashtrays-even for non-smokers! He's not the cheapest guy in town but your car will thank you, your friends will thank you, the next owner of your car will thank you. read more

Attention to detail, man o man. This is one place that I took my pickup to and it came out looking as clean and shiny as a new Ferrari. No joke, when you pick up your car from Island Detail, you probably could eat a meal off the hood it you wanted too. This is how much work these guys put into getting your car in tip-top shape. I was very impressed with the fact that they have a lift in their shop and they get your undercarrage cleaner than any place around. All the staff that works here knows what they are talking about and they get the job done right. A little pricey, but if you want it done right, the first time, take your car here. read more

You can believe all of the five-star ratings of this place. Pat and his crew are amazing. Our VW Tiguan in for a much-needed cleaning after it was stolen and recovered. Talk about a deep cleaning! They took out the seats, pulled up and steam cleaned the carpet, cleaned and buffed out some scratches on the exterior, etc. Its like having a new car again. read more

Patrick was the most helpful guy I know. I came in for an estimate and he started working on it as soon as I pulled up and gave me a deal. This is not to say that you should expect a deal when you go there, but that just shows the commitment to making the customer happy. read more

Car came out looking fantastic! Even Pat said he was "shocked" at how well things turned out. What really impressed me was, on the day I gave them the car, Pat called me a couple hours later and really quizzed me out about just how far I wanted him to go with cleaning and restoring. Gave me several options that would have resulted in a clean car but at less expense, things they could leave out doing. Well, I wanted this 13 y.o. small sedan restored to as good as humanly possible, and man-oh-man did Pat deliver! This car, which had been my brother's dog hauler, I am now driving around clients and, on the first day at work, BOTH of my new bosses. They were AMAZED at how "new" my car looked and felt - right then and there that made the whole expense worthwhile. And to think, for the last several years the most distinguished passenger in that car has been an 80 lb Golden Lab! Thanks Patrick!!! read more

Pat has performed magic on my 20-year old car. I can't remember the last time that it looked this good!!

I laugh at the one star review. I've done business with Pat for over 20 years. No ,hes not cheap, but you get what you pay for . Pat is so anal about detailing, He will take the interior apart if he has to . The car will be as nice is nice as it possibly can be, when he's done. Hes obviously good at what he does. I've seen every exotic brand of car in his shop at one time or another . Always amazing read more

The best. Absolutely. I have a nice older, extremely well maintained Porsche 911 and bring it to Pat every two years for two full days worth of interior and exterior detailing. He sweats the details -- the exhaust system is clean; the suspension is detailed; the interior is cared for in every minor detail; the heat exchangers and radiators are cleaned to like-new condition. Always ready for me at the appointed time; always has the car ready at the appointed time. It just does not get better than this. No it is not inexpensive, but in my opinion it is totally fair value for money. read more

I was referred to Pat by my mechanic. I have a 96 Celica, and was wondering if I should fix it up or sell it. I love my car. Pat is very personable and went through my car like a detective. He pointed out alot of things that I really didn't want to hear. Mostly that the paint is failing and it would not really be worth it to have him do his magic. I was bummed about that but I REALLY appreciated his honesty and his skill. I am looking for a newer car now.....time to let go. But before I buy anything, I will take it to Pat. Really a great guy. Highly recommend him. read more

My experience at Island Detail was absolutely exceptional. Pat was very professional, supportive, and meticulous in every aspect of the job from start to finish. I brought in a Audi that was very very dirty from a previous owner and he turned it into an absolute masterpiece. It looks brand new!! Pat (the owner) is someone who genuinely cares about his work and goes far beyond any other company I have ever worked with. I recommend Island Detail to everyone and will continue to bring my cars to Pat as long as I am in the area. It is well worth the price and way way way more..You will not be disappointed one bit. read more

Pat at Island Detail is terrific! He has helped me negotiate a temperamental 2003 Mazda work van for many years. Whenever an issue arose, he was very accommodating to give it a look. Pat makes our cars look better than the day we got them off the new car lot. You won't be able to find a speck of dust--it's amazing. Pat is easily the most professional, communicative, and all-around friendly guy I've ever met in the car business. Obviously, as the other reviews will tell you, his attention to detail is spectacular. I brought in a 2012 Subaru, and received back (what I'm pretty sure is) a brand new car from the factory. His work was that good. Beyond that, however, he took the time to go over mechanical issues, and recommended some additional work far and beyond what a typical detailer would notice. Even after I'd paid, he took time out of his day to discuss proper car washing technique, tips about avoiding hard water stains, and his recommendations for a new car battery. If you've read this far, you probably know what you're getting, so go ahead and give him a call. He's made a customer for life. read more
