I did a custom bowl and the acai base was alright...I asked for chia pudding and only realized that they forgot to add it after paying. That didn't bother me too much and didn't bring it up. I also felt like the vibe of the place was not it. It was so quiet in there (or maybe the music was very low) and the 3 employees that were working at the time seemed more interested in their conversation. A bit of a let down because I read that Island Bodega is a good acai bowl place but maybe not this location. read more

Daughter has been wanting to visit this place. We walked over after having lunch at the food court in the Hmart. There were 2 staff members to help us. There was a coconut allergy. I liked how the female staff member let us know which bases to avoid and tried to avoid cross contamination with other bases and toppings by using a different spoon and getting toppings from the back. I went with a small, pitaya base, honey almond granola, strawberries, banana, blueberries, kiwi, dried cranberries, almond slices, and pumpkin seeds finished with honey. Daughter had a similar small acai bowl, but had 2 bases of pitaya and passion fruit. She felt that the passion fruit is unique. The granola is crunchy. The fruits were fresh. We enjoyed both bowls. Everything was good. Daughter thought the price of $11.00 for a small acai bowl was fair given the generous serving. We can't wait to return again. read more

Came in today after work with my daughter craving a fresh treat. I ordered the mad mocha and my daughter ordered blue island, they were very delicious, EXCEPT my daughter did say the banana was pretty warm instead of cold which was odd. Other than that, they were delicious and well made. The service was friendly and helpful and the ambience was very chill and mellow, pop playing in the background with a lot of seating. read more

Island Bodega recently opened next to Einstein Bagels taking over the former Starbucks location. They specializes in customizable bowls made with organic, fresh ingredients with NINE different bowl bases, various toppings (you can get up to 18!!!), nut butters, fruits, four granolas blends, powders, aaaaand chia puddings. My sister and I tried this new açaí spot. It was pretty good! There were many signature bowls to choose from or you can custom your own. I got the dragon bowl but with almond butter. Yummm! Right now (10/6-10/15/25) they're having BOGO! Service was good, they offered samples in the bases to help us decide. All their bases, toppings, fruits etc looked fresh and tasty! They have an app you can download for rewards or to order ahead too! There's a few tables and chairs inside if you wanna eat there. Went here for their soft opening! My sister and I love acai bowls and wanted to check out this new place nearby because we saw they were doing a promo. The interior of the place is gorgeous, very clean and lots of seating for a quick bite! As for their menu they have options for premade bowls and make your owns. We both decided to make our own. My sister got an acai base with coconut cream and I got the pitaya and acai base. These were so delicious, light, sweet and very flavorful. The coconut cream was milky and a sweet coconuty flavor! One thing to note is that when we went the only fresh fruit options were strawberries, bananas, kiwis, and blueberries. They really pack the açaí down for your bowl so you're getting lots of açaí bases. Toppings was unlimited add as much as you want and ingredients were fresh looking. I tried several of their signature bowls like the Island bowl, Dragon bowl and Albatross bowl. Each of them were very good. I really like the coconut cream as it makes everything else taste so much better. It's sort of like an icy coconut ice cream. Came on a rainy day (so not as crowded) and was greeted by 2 staff members who were pleasant and helpful! Was able to sample all the base flavors and my favorite was the Pitaya, then Blue Island, then the acai base. Toppings are crunchy and there are plenty of seating. The biggest thing was that you get all of these healthy options for a great price! I was so full from just a small and it was $11!!! Be wary though that the bases melt pretty fast, so you may have to devour your bowl ASAP! Would definitely come back! read more

Similar to an Açaí place but with a lot of choices for your base. This is the first Island Bodega I've come across and I enjoy supporting local businesses so I stopped in. It's located in the Chik-fil-a / Target shopping center near Einstein Bros Bagels. The first thing I noticed was that the place was immaculate, very clean. The staff was ready to serve, welcomed me in and answered many questions about their options. The store is tastefully designed and decorated. There are plenty of seats to enjoy your bowl. The food was displayed nicely and everything looked very clean and organized. I picked my base, then a granola choice, followed by chia pudding. After that you add fruit, nuts, seeds, etc to your liking. You can add as many toppings as you like as long as they fit in the bowl. I was worried about it being too sweet so I skipped honey or agave topping and mine was perfect! Curious about what I ordered? Order it through the app and they were running a promo Bogo for their coconut matcha. There wasn't an area in the app where you can add notes, so I had to call to ask to see if they can just not add the coconut base since I'm not a fan. So I had no way to find out quickly if my card was there unless I drove there. the next day Sunday I canceled other plans and made the 2 hours drive there and back. Luckily the card was still there and the nice staff gave it back to me. When I told them I could not reach anyone at their number and how far away I lived etc. they said there was no phone at their location. To the CEO, you must have a way for customers to reach someone in an emergency or in such a situation as I had on a weekend by phone or text or chat. with technology being so available and cheap these days, there has to be a way.

Mini Strawberry, Banana, Mango Smoothie with Whey Powder $7.59; TooGoodToGo Surprise Bag: $9.15 ($8.49 + sales tax; TGTG value: $21) We were here at Bella Terra (refer to Review #962) for the Kids Club Valentine's Day Sweet Stroll when M complained of thirst. Since I'm not typically in Huntington Beach, I checked to see if there were any TooGoodToGo & Nékter Juice Bar popped up with a current pick-up window. Perfect! We were just one section over & the juice shop was en route. Nékter Juice Bar is located near Old Navy/Custom Comfort Mattess. The juice shop is small with a couple of 2-tops inside & a couple of larger round tables outside. We were immediately greeted upon entering, & I explained that I'm here for my TGTG pick-up & showed my phone as I swiped for redemption. This is my 1st time picking up a drink so I wasn't sure what to expect... the app says I'm rescuing a bag of "delicious juices &/or smoothies." This is my 2nd pick-up that is made-to-order. I'm guessing drinks can't be premade... at least for a smoothie. We wait a couple of minutes & received a mini 12 fl. oz. Strawnana & Mango Smoothie with Whey Powder, & 2 Açaí Bowls: Banana & Hempseed Granola with Banana Berry Base (açaí, strawberry, blueberry, banana, housemade cashew milk), Blueberry & Peanut Butter Granola with Peanut Butter Base (açaí, banana, strawberry, dates, peanut butter housemade cashew milk). The 2 mini bowls appears to stack the same as the $11.99 Build-Your-Own-Bowl except it had only 1 topping of blueberry & banana in each bowl instead of 3, so the value is just shy of TGTO's estimate (since there's no mini size açaí bowl price to reference). The smoothie quenched our thirst on this sunny stroll through the mall. Though the açaí bowls were small & bland (from the singular fruit topping), both our hunger was satisfied by the bowl & shared smoothie. I wasn't a fan of the Peanut Butter Base, which is an unusual flavor in the açaí bowl world; I haven't seen any other shop offer this base flavor. The other 2 bases: Dragonfruit & Mango are pretty standard. I would have loved their Blue Vanilla Cashew Drizzle & an extra fruit (pineapples or strawberries) since the BYOB comes with 3 toppings. Since this is a TGTG surprise bag, we get what we get & don't get upset. Would I return to this Nékter Juice Bar? Not likely when there's a closer one to home. I'm definitely a fan of this fresh juice bar for their quality, healthy smoothies & açaí bowls! Recommended: Strawnana & Mango Smoothie with Whey Powder, BOYB Açaí Bowl.

I asked for some granola on the bottom, before the layers of ube and coconut were put in. Some chia seeding pudding, more granola, fresh fruit and toasted coconut to top it off. I'm glad I gave this spot another chance. This was the experience and satisfaction I was expecting after reading others reviews. :)
