STAY AWAY!!
Island Auto Group is filled with scam artists and liars. I have never had a more painful car buying experience.
I purchased a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Diana was our salesperson, yes'ed us to death saying she would give us everything we asked for and kept trying to rush us through the buying process. We agreed on buying the vehicle for 29k before taxes. Last minute, Diana stated she never agreed to 29k and her new price was $29,595. After that spiel, they were trying to charge a $700 bank fee after we already agreed on a final price. After constant arguing and getting multiple people involved, they magically found a hidden "coupon" to waive the bogus bank fee. Then, they hit me with a 9% interest rate after I already put $10,000 cash down on the vehicle. The finance manager, John, stated they couldn't do anything with the interest rate because it wasn't them, it was the bank. After telling them we didn't want the car anymore, the bank somehow changed its' mind and offered me a 4.9% rate.
Before signing the agreement, Diana promised she would have the vehicle buffed and detailed to remove excess scratches, and fix the bottom grill which was pushed out. I signed the agreement and left. That same evening, Diana called me and stated the vehicle was fixed to our agreement and ready for pickup. Upon my arrival the next day, the vehicle was never detailed, extremely dirty inside and a NEW scratch was present. The manager (Steve?) became involved and stated they do not detail vehicles. When I told him Diana promised the vehicle would be detailed and told me last night on the phone that it in fact was already detailed, he said there was nothing else he could do beside have someone wipe the interior of the car down. The manager also said they could not fix the bumper, even though Diana promised to have that fixed as well.
On top of that, Island Auto Group somehow lost my second key. They refused to reprogram a new one but stated they would only charge me what it costs them for a new key. John stated the key would be $200 at most. I asked to have the price in writing and he refused. After speaking with his manager, he came back and somehow the key would now cost $400. Little did they know, we already called another Jeep Service center nearby and they were only charging full price at $300.
The vehicle, as stated multiple times by Diana, was Certified, but to my surprise, it is in fact not certified.
After the horrendous service I received from Island Auto Group, I didn't even want my Jeep anymore. They made this buying process the biggest hassle, headache and ultimate waste of time. read more
