BLUF: a great time, and well run…read more Went with a large group on a Saturday. When you first arrive you have to do a waiver and get weighed (can't fly over 300 lbs, and maybe can't fly if b/w 260 and 300. This is where the most annoying parts of the visit was for me. There are bunch of touchscreens in the check in area, and they could just have you go there and check in. But instead you have to scan a QR code on your phone and do it online. Makes no sense, especially since you have to watch a safety video, which you are now doing on a tiny phone, and there are about 5 others walking around you doing the same. Once you check in you get a wristband and go upstairs. Once upstairs there are lockers to store your stuff. Then you get a jumpsuit, goggles and helmet and they guide you through fitting the helmet. Then you meet your "guide" for the session, and he/she brings you into another room, where the second annoying thing happens. You watch the SAME safety video again. Then the guide goes through it again in person. Frankly, the guide's in-person spiel was the best and they could have ditched the other 2. Once you get in it's a great time. The key is to RELAX. If you are tense, it is a lot harder to get stable, and if you're not stable you will waste some of your precious 90 seconds of flight time while the guide tries to stabilize you. The last downside, it is PRICEY. Groups can get discounts and party packages, but it's never cheap. Definitely a once-in-a-while thing unless you have a lot of disposable income. Would I go back? Definitely, but only once in a while and ready to drop some serious $$.

It's really pricey for what you get. You check in and watch the safety video on your phone, which…read moredoesn't seem very effective. After picking up your gear, you just wait. And wait. It's entertaining to watch the others fly but it gets pretty dull after the first half-hour. We waited almost an hour before the two 60-minute flights. I expected more...seems like they'd at least have a real briefing and show some educational content.

Such a unique experience! If I could compare anything to ifly, it's like a safer, less intense,…read moreless expensive, and more fun sky-diving without the two hour drive to a random field and wait for a rickety plane. Ifly provides a sustained flying experience using a powerful wind tunnel that propels you and that you can control with the help of your instructor and your own body movement. While each flight only lasts about a minute, it feels much longer with the overload of senses and adjusting to a new experience. The whole staff was great - super patient, welcoming, and genuinely wanting you to have a good time and take in the experience. I especially appreciated Andrew explaining some of the science behind you being lifted in the air and floating and providing a chance to test out different movements. Ifly also does a great job providing STEM learning opportunities for students. When I arrived they had different objects floating and were talking through the aerodynamics and physics of each. While the experience is quick, lasting about a minute per flight, it is memorable, unique, and about 1/4th the price of sky diving and I would argue a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. I'm looking forward to a return visit!

Ethan is an absolutely fantastic iFLY instructor. As an experienced flyer, I wanted to introduce my…read moretwo grandsons, ages 10 and 12, to indoor skydiving and help them begin developing real flying skills. This was only their second time flying, and Ethan's ability as a gifted instructor was immediately apparent. We purchased five minutes of block time for each boy, divided into three 90-second sessions. By the end of those sessions, Ethan had both boys flying in a stable belly-neutral position and performing controlled turns. Watching their confidence and ability improve so quickly was amazing. Ethan has a remarkable way of explaining techniques so they make sense to young flyers. He was patient, encouraging, safety-conscious, and able to adjust his instruction to each boy individually. His coaching methods simply clicked with them, and the results spoke for themselves. We were extremely impressed with Ethan and the entire experience. We plan to continue their training with him and would highly recommend Ethan to anyone looking for a skilled, professional, and genuinely talented instructor.

When driving to the airport I was worried we were headed the wrong was. I was quite surprised by how many people there were. I come to realize they were having a big event with multiple planes going. With a bunch of energy from the staff and other people there, it was a really good time! Everyone there especially the staff and other jumpers were super friendly and knowledgeable. They made the nerves go away by how calm and excited everyone was. I cant thank the staff enough at Skydive Shenandoah for such an awesome experience. I will definitely be back again soon. My group ended up staying to watch the next plane go up which was all filled with solo jumpers. Come to find out that was the last load bc it was about to get dark I guess. They ended up having a big cookout and were going to light up a bonfire and just hangout. We thought that was so cool. They invited us to stay, but we had to get on the road to head home. We drove 3 over three hours from Baltimore. Our group was really happy with our experience here and was well worth the extra drive. Last thing, I recommend getting one of the videos. It was a little extra, which made me hesitant but once they explained how it worked it made sense. Not everyone in my group was able to get the video package due to the extra cost. They were really nice about it and added my friends in during my gear up and landing. Made the video a little extra special. I was surprised, but we ended up meeting another couple and come to find out they didn't know each other and were just paired to go up on the same time together. I ended up asking if that was normal for people to come alone and one of the instructors told us it happens more often than you think. Highly recommend! Definitely will be back again.
