Such a unique experience! If I could compare anything to ifly, it's like a safer, less intense, less expensive, and more fun sky-diving without the two hour drive to a random field and wait for a rickety plane. Ifly provides a sustained flying experience using a powerful wind tunnel that propels you and that you can control with the help of your instructor and your own body movement. While each flight only lasts about a minute, it feels much longer with the overload of senses and adjusting to a new experience. The whole staff was great - super patient, welcoming, and genuinely wanting you to have a good time and take in the experience. I especially appreciated Andrew explaining some of the science behind you being lifted in the air and floating and providing a chance to test out different movements. Ifly also does a great job providing STEM learning opportunities for students. When I arrived they had different objects floating and were talking through the aerodynamics and physics of each. While the experience is quick, lasting about a minute per flight, it is memorable, unique, and about 1/4th the price of sky diving and I would argue a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. I'm looking forward to a return visit! read more

It was a fun experience for one time but I am not sure it was worth the price. It felt different from real sky diving and since you can only keep your eyes leveled and not look down, there wasn't much to look at while flying around. A great activity for the novice and advanced skydiver we brought down kids for a mentorship program and they all enjoyed it. It's located in a semi industrial area. The lot is large and had able parking for the bus we drove down in. We pre registered and filled out the waivers online so the check in process went smoothly. Just had to weigh in for safely. I assume there may be a weight limit bit I didn't inquire since I made the cut. For this visit they provided a STEM class for the kids to teach them a little about the physics involved in the process. It was a nice way to add a little learning into the fun times. The. We received our safety instructions and watch's a brief video. After that we were outfitted with our flight suits and safety goggles. You must remove all jewelry and loose items before you fly. They do provide lockers for you to use. We had a few non flyers in our group so they watched everyone's belongings. Then we got to fly. For this package we only had 1 minute each. It sounds like a short time but when you are in there it feels much longer. It's definitely and interesting activity and out of the ordinary. My adventurous niece wanted to do this for her birthday last year. It was her birthday, but I was lowkey excited... I had never even considered doing this! So we booked way in advance, and when the day came, check-in was super easy! My parents came too, even though they were not actively flying themselves. It was so cool how they gave us instructions and those cool suits! Each party had a separate... funnel thing to sit in, and there was a HUGE fan under the floor. That's a pretty powerful fan to be able to blow around fully grown adults like it was. It was such a cool experience... I literally had to put my hands up a certain way, and just fall as if I was going to hit the floor... and I flew!!! The wind was intense hitting the face, and I imagine it's even crazier when you're actually falling out of the sky. But it was so cool! I managed to control the direction I 'dived' in. My oldest niece enjoyed it even more than I did... the youngest got a little nervous though lol. I absolutely enjoyed this and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for some adventure... or if you consider skydiving and want a smaller scale way of testing it out. Got a nice photo too! It's a tad pricey, but for an experience like this it may be subjective as to what's reasonable. read more

The only reason I would rate a three star is because the actual fly experience. One thing I didn't like is they tell you to arrive 10 minutes early, that's wild! Once you go in, you're sitting and waiting around for a good hour before you can even fly. You go in and two flights are not you can come back and fly again two flights meanings how many time you get to fly. I'm not sure of how they calculate the time but you're only in there for 30 seconds to a minute and 30 seconds each time. The add on rate is for everything and I hate it. You have to pay a $20 extra fee for a half flight when they take you above 14 feet in the air and you only get it for one flight unless you do the two high flights for 30 days that they have going right now. Secondly I think it should be better. Explain with the flights are on the website. It could've been there, but I didn't see it. Overall, the flying process was amazing the sitting and waiting around will have you angry because they don't tell you how long you have to wait. So for instance, if the party in front of you has 10 flyers and each flyer has four flights you may be waiting for an hour or not an hour and a half before you can even go. It's unbelievable. How much waiting you're doing in here. Between actual instruction time and flying time, I'll say it's a 20 minute experience but you're in there for almost 2 hours waiting for your turn. Last thing of advice do not expect clear pictures and video footage. It would have been nice if someone I took with me could have taken pictures or video granted they give you a nice video in the email and you have to download and save everything which was an inconvenience, but I think that everything was blurry if you're paying for $25 for pictures and things of that nature you at least want them to be clear. So you're there for over an hour easily but only partake in the experience for literally 2 minutes unless you pay $20-40 more to have 2 more minutes. I'm glad I experienced this as I do want to skydive from an aircraft sometime in the near future. That being said, at iFly you don't fall from somewhere, you tilt your body towards the center of the tunnel and air pushes your body upwards. The flight is only for one minute and I wish it was longer especially because something like this takes a few tries to get used to. The second flight was much better. I paid extra for photos and videos. The fee only covered them taking two videos for you, but then you have to pay even more to download the full one minute without watermarks. My son turned 10 and I didn't want to do another boring birthday party so I asked him if he wanted to go to iFLY. He didn't know what it was so I showed him a Youtube video. He was excited, but I saw the panic on his face. I made the reservation and completed the waiver online. Everything was easy to set up and I got a confirmation phone call. When we arrived, we went upstairs and my son was with 4 other kids. The person who was instructing the kids went over the safety rules and hand signs. (The wind tunnel is loud so they use hand signs) Each child went into the wind tunnel twice for 1 minute (That's 2 minutes for $96.00) My son had a great time, but I was surprised by the amount of time and frequency the kids had in the wind tunnel. At the end, they presented a special package for a return visit. I didn't take it and since my visit, I've gotten several emails with the same or better deals. 11/5/22 This past weekend on 10/29/22, I took a drive around Rockville Maryland to see what has changed around the area. I came across the Ifly I had seen from the highway. I started thinking about how this cod be fun for my wife and I. Then I thought about taking a friend with us as well. Upon entering the building I saw a couple getting information and getting tickets to go indoor skydiving by an associate. There was another associate there, she completely ignored me and anyone else who was there while I was there. Granted there were signs giving off most questions I had, but the fact that she did not even acknowledge me or anyone else set the tone for me. The cost for two people to go skydiving 2 times each for beginners is $84 each. This has to be done on the same day no matter how big the group is. The cost quickly goes up to about $349 or higher depending how many jumps you might want. Now, if you wish to be lifted higher into the air, this might cost more money because you are leaving the beginners ranks. I don't know the pricing on this. The location was set up for Halloween and besides the creepy spiders and ghosts we are suppose to be scared of, the areas looked well maintained including the unisex bathroom on the first floor. Nevertheless, since the tone was already set by Ms. Desagradable, it didn't much matter what the prices were. I would like to think the guy for answering additional questions, but I don't see us coming back to this location. read more

Daniel was our instructor and he did a great job of getting us prepped and ready for our flight and ensured that we had some fun flying while we were in the wind tunnel. In the continuous search of giving unique experiences to my adventurous kids as birthday presents, I took them to iFly Montgomery for what ended up being an amazing time for everyone! Now we've been back several more times and each visit is better than the last. We pre-registered and filled out the waivers online so the check in process was a breeze. Then the amazing Jamal took us through getting flight suits, the safety video and instructions on how to communicate in the tunnel. Then it was TIME TO FLY! Something else I really enjoyed was that I could bring my parents who were able to get terrific seat for watching their grandchildren take off. The smiles though! The smiles on my kids' faces were priceless. They had a blast learning how to maneuver in the tunnel. Then, when I thought they couldn't smile any bigger, came the high fly! They came out of the tunnel positively beaming and high fived everyone. Of course, their jaws dropped once they saw Jamal show off his advanced skills. In the end, we all ended up having a blast. So. Much. Fun!!!! My dad gave me the gift of four 1-minute flights for my birthday and it was one of the best gifts I've ever received. Michael was our instructor for the day and he was absolutely AWESOME! He was so energetic and so excited, and his energy was contagious. After watching the training video, he did a quick recap and gave us the run down on what to expect, and then we were on our way to the wind tunnel. He did an absolutely fantastic job of reading each of the members in our group and tailoring their flights to each person's level of excitement/apprehension. Michael actually suggested that I consolidate my four jumps to three 80 second jumps instead, so that I could have longer flights and do more stuff. Definitely a good idea. The high flight was AMAZING!!!!! Super fun. Highly recommend. During your flight, they take pics and video, which are surprisingly affordable (about $5 and $8 bucks respectively). Totally worth the money. The wind tunnel is clear, so if you've got someone watching you jump, they can also snap pics and video for you. Downstairs, there is a small gift shop with all kinds of affordable iFLY gear: keychains, t-shirts, hoodies, water bottles, hair ties, etc. As someone who has done both indoor and outdoor skydiving, I really enjoyed this experience. It's all the fun of flight without watching an altimeter, packing a parachute, remembering how to breathe if the air gets sucked out of your lungs, or otherwise worrying about dying. Win-Win-Win-Win! Pro-Tips: -Each "flight" is a one-minute session in the wind tunnel, and your flights are only good for the present session (so you can't "bank" your present flights to use at a future session). -Pay the extra 10 bucks for the high flight. OMG! This place is crazy!!! Like, all the staff for one is amazing and super informative. The sales manager assisted me and a guy named Daniel. Over the top GREAT customer service. There is wavier stations that you can to complete before you can go upstairs to the lockers and the gear station. Once you pay and sign your wavier, they place the wristband on you. You go upstairs and meet your instructor/flyer. They get you suited and geared up. They even have SHOES! in a event you come in there with flip flops. The suits are good. Please remove all jewelry and apple watches, etc. You will lose them inside the tunnel. There are free lockers you can use during your flight. Super convenient. My instructor ASH? is amazing!! Perfect personality for this job. Makes you feel so comfortable during your flight time. Please keep him! The staff that worked the gear stations were AWESOME TOO! Ugh, there is a guy with curly hair that said he is an instructor too that was so helpful! (I wish, I knew his name) Flight time was like 1 min a round. So if you bought 4 minutes, you will have to wait 1 mins per person until its your turn. The wind blows all in your face! Try to keep your mouth closed, but try to smile a few times because they video record and take pictures for you to purchase online. First time doing indoor skydiving and I totally loved it. The protocols for Covid-19 were very well followed. Hand sanitizer, temperature check and the equipment provided as well is sanitized and once used is separated from the rest of the equipment for proper cleaning. In regards to the experience it was plenty fun and they guide you through the whole thing, making it not scary but a fun time. Came here with a homeschool group! Everyone was friendly and helpful. They did a lesson, learned what to do inside the tunnel and then got to do their flight. Flights are only 1 minute so don't think you're going to be in there a long time. Originally I only purchased for my 10 year old but when we arrived my 3 year old wanted to do it too. They had fun. I went to IFLY for my little brothers 12th birthday yesterday. I had been skydiving for real before and I enjoyed it but the parachute part left me feeling motion sick all day. At IFLY, I did not get sick at all because there is not an under canopy part! So I actually loved it. It is honestly the closest thing you will get to actual skydiving. They provide you with a jumpsuit, goggles, helmet, and then train you for about ten minutes or less. They have you watch a quick video and teach you three hand signals that will help you improve your experience. You can purchase photos and videos, which are much cheaper than the actual skydiving packages. The photos and video were under ten dollars each. the hand signals are reminders to: relax, straighten your legs, chin up, or bend your legs a little bit. If at anytime you feel unsafe, you can give them a thumbs down signal and they will allow you to stop. They were very accommodating to my little brother who has autism. Instructor Joe was very kind and attentive to him. He held onto my brother the entire time, making him feel comfortable and safe. We had two flights, one was lower and the second one was higher upon request. They were not able to take my brother higher, since his form was unsafe once the wind increased. On my way out, I saw their holiday prices advertised. Right now you their special prices are four flights with two photos for $120 and those can be split between two people. Each time you enter the tunnel is for one minute each (at least that is what we purchased, I don't know if there are longer options). This simulated the feeling of free falling when you sky dive for real. The only difference was: actual skydiving was colder, you don't have to get into an airplane, and you won't get sick from the parachute. IFLY also offers classes, where they will teach you how to move side to side and to flip etc. There were many kids participating as well! I highly recommend it. Ok so here it goes, I think because I spent 20+ years in the military and I served in different branches, it takes alot to impress me. The people were so darn nice and friendly, we had a 6:00 reservation on a Monday night and we we didnt start our instruction class until 6:30. It's pretty expensive especially if you purchase the high flight, video and pictures for just a couple minutes of flight. But it didnt impress me, my sister asked me if it was a thrill or scary and I told here neither. It was just ok, nothing exciting to me. Stay away. Quite unprofessional. Made a reservation, months ahead because it's all booked up. Got a call some time before the date, which I missed. No emails. Tried to call them back to reschedule - was told that "we can't find you in the system". Tried to reschedule again - was told that too much time has passed from original reservation and it's not possible to reschedule. Thing was already paid for and is not refundable. Voucher was a gift and it feels so bad. I don't trust these people, if they can't handle reservations, how can they handle safety? read more

Even with the 2 person Groupon which was $100+ we still got there and spent and additional $40. What they don't tell you is the high fly aka the best part of going there isn't included in your Groupon. Who would even want to do this if you don't plan to fly high? If you want video and pics that also an additional fee. And you can't see our faces in the pictures. The experience itself seems a little rushed while you're there. they only have you in the air for a minute each time and of course at the end of everyone's turn they try to up sell you another high fly for an additional $10/20 (can't remember). So we came here today from Ohio not knowing what to expect. We were scared, nervous and exhausted from our travels. I can tell you that once we jumped in that tube smiles spread across our faces instantly! Our instructors name we think was Doc and he was a delight! I never felt scared once we started. He was funny and you could tell he was caring and took his job seriously. I wish ifly would build close to the Akron Cleveland area because I'm hooked! I'm beyond terrified of heights but this was not scary at all. I'm still smiling nearly 12 hours later. You've made my day ifly! The manager Heidi so aggressively tried to up sell us for the high fly experience that my 11 and 14 year old became focused pretty much only on that. She tried 6 times in a 5 minute conversation while checking in and told my kids they won't get a full experience without it... it got to the point that I had to tell her to stop. Not everyone has unlimited funds and the used car sales approach is very off putting; everyone else there was very nice and professional....
