Elizabeth Kwo, currently a resident at CHA Somerville Primary Care, is one of the best doctors I've…read morehad the pleasure of working with. It's always super frustrating when a doctor listens to your first 5 words, comes up with a conclusion (no matter how correct it may be), and then spends the rest of the session and your words reinforcing their opinion of that conclusion. It's a basic failure of the scientific method. You don't skew and cherrypick the data to follow your initial conclusion, like in middle school science class. You look at all the data first, and then come up with possible conclusions. Dr. Kwo passes this acid test with five stars. Not only was she kind and attentive while listening to my descriptions, she also made me privy to her thought process and helped me rule out any serious concerns by patiently explaining each and every single one. As if this is not stellar enough, today I phoned the primary care office with an urgent question while feeling very sick and had to resort to leave a message at the front desk for her. Getting an appointment would have taken too long. Just an hour later she called me back, and answered my questions on the phone for a whole 15 minutes! When I thanked her, she casually replied "Oh sure, there's no way we were going to let you go through that by yourself". I think that sums it up nicely. Primary care, like teaching, is one of those things where being a good academic is very necessary but not sufficient by itself. You also need a healthy dose of understanding, empathy, care and compassion. Dr Kwo has both, with a healthy dose of common sense too. I don't know if she plans to keep doing primary care after her residency, but I sure hope she does for my own selfish purposes :)

I cannot say enough good things about Tracy Revett…read more I have been seeing Tracy on a weekly basis for a year and a half now. To put it simply - she is incredible. Last year, Tracy treated me throughout my entire pregnancy, and it made many of the difficult symptoms so much more bearable. I completely trusted her to perform treatments that were safe during my pregnancy. Since she specializes in Japanese style acupuncture, which his less "invasive" and gentler than the Chinese style, I never had any concern. I always left the table relaxed, more comfortable and pain-free, qualities which were invaluable during that time in my life. This year, I've been seeing her for stress-related ailments (par for the course when you're a new mom!), and she's helped to bring me so much relief, both physically and mentally. Tracy is extremely knowledgeable about her craft and imparts her knowledge with patience and clarity whenever I ask her questions, especially about any of the interesting tools and techniques she uses (e.g. moxibustion, bear warmer, cupping, etc.). She is also a wonderful listener. I honestly feel like I receive a therapy session during my treatment. She is so down-to-earth, honest, open and loving. She really is a joy, and I look forward to seeing her every week. It is telling that even when I don't have a particular ailment or issue to be addressed, I still make appointments with Tracy. I do this because I always leave her office happy and extremely calm. My visits with Tracy are the only "me" time I get from my busy life, and they beat a spa treatment or massage any day. Tracy can attest to this - every time she completes my treatment and says "Okay, Stephanie, you're all set" (my cue to get off the treatment table), I yell out "No!!" while laughing. I just can't bring myself to leave. If she'd allow me to, I'd stay on that table all day long. You will not be disappointed if you go see Tracy. In fact, I can guarantee that you will soon be one of her "regulars."

When I asked why, the scheduler said that the manager instructed them not to schedule any annual visits with the doctors in the practice anymore -- only the nurse practitioners or PAs. However, during my appointment and after listing all my symptoms and how gynecologists have told my I have suspected endometriosis, I was told by Kristine that I don't have that during muscle testing. I was shocked at such a bold statement ONLY because it went against the "I am not a doctor" statement I was told. I convinced myself this woman had a strong intuition until my chronic pelvic pain did not subside from the tinctures I was given. Which ... they weren't supposed to. It was only something western medicine could handle. Here I am two weeks post op with all endometriosis excised from my bladder and deep from my pelvis. So, Yes. I did have that. But the point of this review is that I was told I didn't have something..... when I absolutely did. It did not align with the " I am not a doctor" which I was told twice. If you are not a doctor, then how come I am being told I don't have something? Everything was very speedy and rushed... but I am assuming that is all because routine is the same for every person. Listen to symptoms, muscle test, and send home with 2-3 tinctures/ vitamins. Waiting for the western medicine and natural path world to align and become one instead of being so separate from each other!!! Hopefully one day. I see reviews that this practice is a scam, I think it is in some ways, but for some people (especially when their symptoms are mental, body is low in vitamins, contains parasites, etc. ) it could really help but it seems to be an expensive guessing game that is for sure.

I have to agree with another recent reviewer that this is a scam. The entire process was strange from start to finish in terms of what she does to check the body energy. None of it makes sense and you can watch her video on Yelp to see what I mean. I have chronic gastritis and came in for help with that. What she found and the drops given did not help me. Actually a very natural remedy did recently, but nothing that was done during this appointment or following. I am not sure how what she does helps people with digestive issues and I don't think she should be advertising that she can help with that. I also don't think she should be ripping people off with such a high initial price point when there are no guarantees and what she does is pretty hard to believe as legitimate. I really wanted this to work but I warn people to not go and use your best judgement. As desperate as you might be, this is too good sounding to be true and effective.
