Isaac's Engines was highly recommended to us by a friend. While it was quite far from our location, it was well worth the drive. Isaac was very friendly, very honest, and offered us the peace of mind that everyone looks for in an auto shop. We took my wife's 2012 Mercedes C250 to Isaac's Engines, which needed to have an alternator replaced that was damaged due to an oil leak. We dropped her car off first thing in the morning when they opened, and Isaac was able to get it back to us by the end of the day. We had called multiple different shops, many of which were closer to us, and all of the other shops came back with much higher quotes. We are so grateful to have been referred to Isaac, and will definitely come back if needed. Thank you so much for the great service and peace of mind! read more

I heard about Isaac's Engine through word of mouth from my wife's boss's husband, and I'm really glad I decided to give them a try. I met them back in October of 2025, and I'd been wanting to try someone new for a long time because, let's be honest, there are a lot of rip-off artists out here in LA County. Some places are quick to charge you, sell you things you don't even need, and then rush through the work. Since then, they've worked on my Grand Marquis and my 2003 Toyota Avalon XLS. Every time I've brought one of them in because I thought there was something wrong, they've been completely honest with me. More than once, I thought something needed to be fixed, and they basically told me, "No, it's fine. Just drive it." And sure enough, there was never an issue. They're really good people--honest and straightforward. They don't try to sell you a bunch of repairs just to make a buck. That's hard to find these days. I'm glad I finally found a mechanic I can actually trust. Isaac's Engine is definitely the real deal. No BS, no unnecessary repairs, and no rip-off artist stuff. read more

If I could leave Isaac 10 stars i would! Ive dealt with many mechanics over time and he is by the most Honest mechanic that ive ever come across. Yes I used the word Honest referencing a mechanic! He does quality repairs at a great price . On more than one occasion he didnt charge me for repairs that werent needed. Hes courteous and very prompt about completing the repair. Been going to Isaac for 20+ years. He has been there for me, my family and neighbors every time. Great place with timely service

This is one of the worst mechanic I've ever been. I have visited many mechanics before but I cannot reiterate more that this is the worst I've ever been in my entire life. Very bad customer service, they made me wait for 2 weeks for a part that they said they will order for me but they didn't do anything. I tried my best to call them, no answer, texted them, no reply, i did everything to reach Isaac in every way possible. And when I got a hold of him, he just told me, " oh nobody has your part that you need"... why not just tell me right away and communicate better. If I hadn't bombarded them with calls, they wouldn't have answered and even let me know what's going.! It's bad doing business with this Isaac guy. Don't waste your time! read more

Came here twice, once to install a component in my emissions system that was causing a check engine light. They worked on it and it was reasonably priced and did a great job as well considering the part that needed replacing was rusted on. I provided the OEM exact replacement and all I pad for was labor. It was pretty fast turn around time of two days so I was pretty happy about that. Would come back for a small job like this again. The second time was horrible. I needed an engine swap on an older car, 1989 Toyota to be exact. He told me numerous times he could source a whole new motor. After me having to call and text him a bunch of times, he he finally tells me he couldn't source one and then a few days later rudely texts me, "What's going on with the car I'm gonna push it to the street if you're not coming in and the two days OK I'm being impatient". You told me that you could source me a new motor, and isn't that the name of your business? Then you text me like I'm some sort of burden that the car has been at your shop for a while and you're gonna move it out because you were the one taking forever to find me a new motor and then at the end of it all you couldn't do that and then get upset? Come on man, I was even willing to pay you more than what I was looking to pay for and what other mechanics quoted me for a new motor and the labor! Smh. Bottom line, simple stuff that isn't as hands-on as swapping out motors like changing a belt or replacing parts like a distributor, carbon canister, alternator, I would trust him. But for engine replacements (especially on older vehicles)...find a different place. read more

COME HERE AND ONLY HERE FOR ALL YOUR CAR MAINTENANCE NEEDS! THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! Isaac and his crew are incredibly friendly, timely and truthful! I'm sure a lot of other females have been told there's much more wrong with their car when they take it in for maintenance. A few days before, I took my car to a Jiffy Lube, the people working there told me all of my brakes were at 30% life or less and that it would cost me $600-700 to fix. Luckily, I've been to Isaac's before and decided to bring my car in there for new brakes... to my surprise there was actually NOTHING wrong with my car!!! Isaac and his crew took the time to look over my car and triple checked that everything was ok. Once they were done and confirmed everything was totally fine they didn't even charge me for their time. And when I tipped them (how could you not?!) they refused my money until I forced them to take it. Such a great experience, I wouldn't recommend any other place read more

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! As a woman I was reluctant to take my car to any mechanic, because I was afraid they would be dishonest or try to overcharge me (I know nothing about cars) but finding Isaac for me, was like finding gold. I have had nothing but amazing experiences. Isaac and the other gentlemen whose name I cannot recall have always been honest and professional. I will continue to go to him and recommend him to anyone who needs any repair work. read more

Isaac's Engines - Auto Repair Near Me - Northridge, California

Isaac is very helpful and reliable. He gets the job done at a reasonable price and is very welcoming. I definitely recommend

This mechanic is the best mechanic I have ever met and could ever hope to find. I usually work on my own cars and never use mechanics because I've been ripped off before and I also know how much mechanics usually charge and how much work is actually involved in the repairs. Next to no one is honest, and some don't even do a thorough Job. on the other hand Isaac is goes beyond simply being honest and hard working, his repairs are often generous, as is his nature. This is why I trust him to work on my cars, and why I recommend him to all my friends and family. May God bless him in all that he does. read more

Mechanic- Autoshop that would not take advantage of Ladies. Other shops as soon as they see a female entering a shop they see the dollar sign on their forehead. They think we are dumb or something. This place they really know what they are doing. They are resonable and won't charge you an arm and a leg. I shop around for experience, price and someone I can trust. So I can keep on going to that same place and recomend it to other people like me. They'll take care of anyone not just ladies. read more

A shredded tire at 6:30 PM in the middle of the week (spare donut & no jack). My husband finds Issac's Tire Shop but they are closed. However, an employee was on sight after hours and offered assistance to get us back on the road. Returned the next day to have job finalized (due to limited access the evening before) and ended up buying 2 additional tires. The staff was very courteous, responsive and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend them and will be back. read more
