This place was great for a quick stop for lunch while riding bikes for a few hours. Decent price. $24 for a family of five. Hot dogs are small and boiled. I got the chili dog. It was pretty good. I wish the dogs were grilled though. They also have Mac and cheese, which my boys loved. It's just kraft from a box, but that didn't bother my boys. read more

I don't know what the last reviewer's problem was. Like everyone else knows everything in the Valley is pricey. This is a welcome cheap oasis like a nother reviewer said. In the summer you will find it next to Giacobbi square on Main. In the winter they locate next to the slopes across the street from lower warm springs. I love grabbing a polish and chips and a coke in the middle of a ski day. Often the line is far shorter than at the lodge and ofcourse its way more wallet friendly. I like to not blow my wad on lunch so I can enjoy s.v. nightlife. Nothing wrong with the dogs! read more

Everything in Sun Valley costs a lot. You pay out the ass for most everything. Thats why Irving's Red Hots is like a hot dog oasis in the middle of an expensive nightmare. The Kraut Dog, Chili Dog, the Bowling Ball (chili in a sourdough bread bowl), Mac n Cheese....they got it all. Better than paying 4.50 for a Coke at the lodge. read more

Definitely the best lunch deal in otherwise overpriced Sun Valley. The dogs come loaded with "the works" (onions, relish, tomatos, mustard, and, of course, hot peppers) and a bag of chips. Hot chocolate is $1 instead of double (or triple?) that in the lodge, and the best part is the resort doesn't seem to mind if you bring your meal into the lodge to eat it. Ok, so maybe not the best dog in the world, but certainly a good one. Been coming to the valley for years and the visit just isn't complete without going to Irvings. I'm partial to the Polish with either "the works" or with kraut. In the summer I delight sitting on the knoll and watching the world go by. In the winter, the same only in the Warm Springs Lodge. You just have to try Irvings, come to think of it, I'm going to go twice on this trip so I can indulge by having each of my favorites. read more
