Update: 7 months since I got my tattoo. My tattoo artist did hit me up after seeing my review and offered to touch up and fix my tattoo after seeing my review a few months later. I did do all the proper care for a tattoo (as I do have many, so I should know), but at this point I think I would need more than just a touch up for this one (see updated picture).

Not only is Adam a great tattoo artist, but he is also very welcoming, chill and takes great care and pride in his work. He created a masterpiece for my GF, her friend and I, just by seeing some references he created something perfect for the us. He also had great suggestions on our placement and how these specific pieces would fit on us. He made sure everything was sanitized properly and took all the proper precautions to ensure there is no contamination. The 6 hr session felt super short cause it was such a cool, chill vibe. Thank you Adam for bringing my vision to life.

    The start of it all

I had an amazing experience with my tattoo artist. He was extremely punctual and professional from start to finish. He gave me an accurate time estimate for my appointment and timed everything perfectly -- no rushing, no dragging it out, just smooth and efficient work. What really stood out was that he managed his time so well that we actually had enough time left over for me to get two additional tattoos that weren't even part of my original appointment. One for me and another for my girlfriend. That level of organization and dedication is rare. On top of that, the quality of the work speaks for itself -- clean lines, great detail, and exactly what I envisioned. If you're looking for someone reliable, talented, and respectful of your time, I highly recommend booking with him. I'll definitely be coming back! Thank you so much for this amazing piece of art. Not letting anyone else tattoo me from now on. Thanks again Adam aka HawaiianHashira (iykyk) look up his page on Instagram for more visuals.

Just had my first session with Adam at the shop. He's not only super knowledgeable about the tattooing process but also produces sick results. I'm so happy with my new piece after a half-day session. Paid attention to every piece of detail and glad to put my trust in his work anytime. I totally recommend and can't wait to get my next piece done by him.

Came in CLUTCH! I was visiting family and my tragus piercing mysteriously fell out of my ear, so I did a quick search and found this place! I called ahead to see if they'd take me as a walk in and they were super friendly on the phone and just as friendly in-person. In just a few hours my tragus piercing had almost fully closed but the piercer rescued my piercing and helped me pick out new jewelry as well :)

My daughter got to pick the color and size earrings she got. They are acrylic avoiding any metal allergies.

Ear piercing review for Amber Amber is fantastic! I went to her in December to get my closed holes re-pierced and to "scope out the situation" before bringing my daughter in for her 7th birthday. Amber was very patient and answered all of my questions and educated me beyond my expectations. I got my holes re-pierced in December and then brought my daughter back with me so I could get a 2nd piercing on my lobes and get hers pierced for the first time. She is GREAT with kids and ensures they don't see the needle. Everything is so clean and I had no qualms whatsoever. My daughter is thrilled with her hot pink earrings and I am loving getting to wear earrings again! The whole studio is clean and friendly. It's not built for kids, so I get the music choices and decorations. Luckily my daughter wasn't fixated on everything else happening around her. All the staff were kind and helpful- allowing my daughter to look around and play some video games. I highly recommend Amber and Irvine Ink for your child's piercings (or even your own!). It's clean, and it's educated & skilled unlike going somewhere that hands a teenage a piercing gun that is effectively shooting blind with a loud pop in their ear.

I should have been suspicious when Riggs asked for a review before we left his shop. I gave the review as requested and if course whe. The ink was fresh, it looked great. I followed the aftercare as he explained. Within a mmonth, half of the heart outline had completely faded and the other tat is faded out in spots too. My wave design is a dotted line. I messaged the shop recently to ask about getting them fixed when I am in town and didn't get a response.

I have been coming here on and off for nearly 8 years now and Riggs and the team have always been nice and accommodating. They treat everyone that walks through the door with the utmost respect. They also deliver a high quality of product/service while keeping fun conversations every single time. I will be continuing to come here for years to come and I highly recommend anyone in the area to do so as well.

This is my favorite place to get any ink work done! Riggs has been my go-to artist for years now. He's done the majority of my back piece, and recently my shoulder and a coverup piece on my wrist. He's beyond talented! I highly recommend his shop!

Great hospitality and vibes of the place! Had such an amazing experience with the artists! Came and had a walk in with some friends and they were more than willing to take us and to help us out, and everything turned out amazing!

Great artists, great service and ambiance. Nothing better than a night out for tattoo and piercing!

I've been getting my tattoos done by Riggs for years and he always does amazing work! He's covered up some of my old tattoos for me even. I highly recommend getting your work done by him! He's super fast which is nice too because it's less painful for me

I just got my tattoo with Riggs and I'm so happy!! It turned out phenomenal and I had such a good time getting it! The vibe at Irvine Ink Tattoo is unmatched!! Can't wait for the next one!!!

How much for my 2nd ear piercing?

It was around $50, super cool spot to do it too. One person in our group had had her ears pierced a couple of times but it would never heal. The piercer here knew her stuff and my friend has had no problems with her piercings at all.

I'm very disappointed with how my appointment was handled…read more I scheduled a consultation before getting a tattoo cover-up. After submitting photos and discussing the project over the phone, I was quoted around $3,500. It's a big project and definitely not cheap, but I was told they could do what I wanted, so I decided to move forward. I wanted to have a proper consultation in person to discuss the design, ideas, expectations, and final pricing, so I rearranged my work schedule around their availability. The appointment was originally scheduled for the afternoon, but then it was changed to the morning. I drove to the studio in the morning, only to be told that the appointment was actually in the afternoon. So I went back to work and then came back again in the afternoon. When I arrived for the afternoon appointment, I was then told that the artist was busy and asked if I could come back in another hour. At this point, I had already driven back and forth multiple times, dealt with traffic, and rearranged my work schedule, only to still not have my consultation. A simple text or phone call saying, "Can you come later? The artist is busy," would have saved me a lot of unnecessary driving and disruption to my workday. They may do great tattoos, but I'm very frustrated with how the appointment was handled. After this experience, I'm going to look at other studios. There are plenty of options around.

I was considering getting a piercing here today, but I left without getting pierced because the consultation made me feel unheard, pressured, and uncomfortable. I think it's fair to come in expecting a conversation where I could show a reference photo, explain my placement preference, hear the piercer's professional opinion, and then decide whether to move forward. Instead, while I was trying to pull up the reference image, I was repeatedly interrupted. I asked several times for a moment to finish finding the photo and explaining what I meant, but the piercer kept making remarks and insisting that she already understood. She told me the piercing wouldn't look right on me before I'd even been able to fully explain what I was asking for. To be clear, the issue wasn't that she had a professional opinion. I respect the expertise of piercers and understand that they may need to advise against a placement for anatomical, safety, or aesthetic reasons. They're the professionals, and I'm open to being guided by that expertise, of course! However, I've already had a number of piercings and have never felt as disregarded during a consultation as I did today. A piercing decision should be a collaborative conversation. The piercer should be able to share their professional assessment, while the client should be given the space to explain their priorities, ask questions, and decide whether they feel comfortable moving forward. I should feel respected the same way I show respect to professionals. And I would've welcomed a respectful explanation or alternatives. But what really upset me was being discouraged and spoken over before I was given a real opportunity to clarify what mattered to me, and as a result I did not feel respected in the slightest. We also clearly weren't on the same page, despite her repeatedly saying that she understood what I wanted because she kept focusing on the lower crystal not being visible. The thing is I already understood that and wasn't concerned about it. My priority is on the placement and being able to see the top of the vertical helix. I tried to explain that distinction, but I wasn't given enough space to do so before more assumptions were made. I've also consulted multiple other professional piercers who've said the piercing is possible, so I was hoping for an actual discussion of options rather than having my request dismissed from the start like that. She also spoke to me as if I didn't understand ear anatomy, even though I have multiple piercings and was simply trying to communicate my own preference. She referred to my ear ridge as a "speedbump" and commented that my existing helix piercing wasn't very visible because of it. That wording may have been meant as humor, but it didn't feel professional or reassuring in the context of an already tense consultation. Visibility wasn't my goal with that piercing either, since I got it with the intention of wearing a hoop there once it healed. Comments like that made me feel like assumptions were being made about my anatomy and choices without first asking what I actually wanted. Because placement was my main concern, the way the consultation was handled affected my confidence in moving forward. If I couldn't get my preferences understood before the procedure, I didn't feel comfortable trusting that they'd be understood during it. The interruptions, assumptions, and overall attitude left me increasingly overwhelmed, and I ultimately had a panic attack. I left feeling talked down to rather than treated with patience or respect. Regardless of intent, the interaction made me feel unsafe, disrespected, and unable to trust the process. And honestly I really am especially disappointed because this shop has such strong reviews, and I understand my experience may be dismissed as a one-off because of that. Still, I don't think that means it should be brushed aside. I'd strongly urge anyone who is naturally anxious, needs time to communicate clearly, or is very specific about placement to consider whether they'd feel comfortable in this kind of consultation. A client should be able to ask questions, show a reference, and explain their priorities without feeling rushed, spoken over, or made to feel difficult. At the end, I told her I didn't appreciate the attitude I was receiving and that I was no longer interested in continuing the consultation. She didn't respond, and I left. I hope the shop takes this feedback seriously, because technical skill matters in piercing, but so does listening, respectful communication, informed consent, and making clients feel safe enough to ask questions before someone performs a procedure on their body.
