If I could give zero stars!! Trying to find a urologist near by since I have recently moved and I do not have the ability to drive far, and they flat out refused to even accept me as a patient with no explanation! When asked why, the receptionist said she has been working there for nine years and when the providers tell new patients to look elsewhere (i.e. they don't want to treat you before they even know the problem), she doesn't investigate to get more information to provide to the potential new patient, and that she doesn't know what to tell me, other then to go back to my insurance and find another urologist (super helpful!). If they treat potential new patients like this, I can't imagine how they treat their current patients. Perhaps I will take this as dive intervention to avoid a disaster decision in my care. Yeah 100% avoid this place. I thought it was fine at first and figured people are just crazy. Their billing department is a mess. You'll get 3-4 separate bills including the surgery. Consolation, surgery, laparoscopic examination and probably specimen exam. Not up front about costs at all. Go someone else with more professional billing manners. Definitely would not recommend this Urologist. I was a new Patient. Had an appointment for 2:15pm, and the Doctor walked in at 3:10pm. Had to wait 55 minutes for him to see me to start. They took a urine specimen, also did an ultrasound of my bladder. He walked in, introduced himself, never said sorry for the wait. What the ultrasound showed, or if they did a dip on my urine to see if I had any issues. NOTHING. I wanted to talk about a certain procedure , he cut me off said I didn't qualify for that procedure. Proceeded to tell me that the problems that my siblings have in my family are this and that. He was so wrong on all accounts. He rushed me out ( was only in the room with him for 10 minutes) gave me a brochure of the procedure he wanted to do and said goodbye. I see the poor reviews for the front desk. I have been going to this office to see DR Bigelow for several years every 6 months. I have been treated well by all of the front desk personnel. Some better than others and never rudely. Today I stopped in needing a lab order. Alicia greeted me with a smile, was very personable and professional. I went to see Dr. Kevin Bigelow back in July of 2024. I received a bill for an ultrasound which was never done and other office procedures which they claim they did. I call BS. I sent certified letters to the office with a return signature. They denied ever getting it. I asked the doctor to call me back to discuss in my letter and also with his staff. NO response. I have seen Dr Avila several times and had different procedures done. my last visit was for a cystoscope . the attending nurse was inexperienced and the doctor had to correct her several times. she forgot to give me the antibiotic that is given as a precautionary to possible infection from the procedure. I contacted the clinic about this and was told that it really wasn't necessary, so wonder why. Very disappointing is that when I call, I am on hold for 15 or more minutes. I have to agree with the two-star reviews given, as my husband had identical issues with the Chandler office. Dr. Bigalow has a good reputation, but he is in a huge hurry. He spends less than five minutes in the examination room, doesn't let you ask questions, and leaves before you have a chance to understand what is happening. Forget about follow-ups for tests he orders. If you need to call the office, you will be placed on hold for over 15 minutes. Most concerning, he prescribed medication that I picked up and paid for, only to find out that the harmful side effects were too risky. It would have been good to discuss this before sending the prescription to the pharmacy. If you want to be shoved through an uncaring and inattentive healthcare facility, this is the place to go. read more

I have been seeing dr. avila for over 15 years .He gave me a botox bladder injection last year in chandler hospital and told me that I would need another one in 6 months or so!!! On a follow up appointment he told me that I could have it done in his office"NO PROBLEM" He said just call when your urination becomes "strange"!!!!! I had to purchase my on botox drug 900.00 and cannot get an appointment till May,while I am suffering at home!!!! I think he is overscheduled his patients and FOTGOT about hif hippacratic oath!!!! I needed to switch urologists. Ironwood Urology was recommended to me by the device coordinator that has been helping me. I called on a Friday, they got me in the following Wednesday. The staff was very helpful and nice. Dr. Eisenberg was very nice & assured me that he could continue with my procedure where my old urologist left off. They even scheduled my procedure before my 6 week vacation. I'm beyond thrilled with my treatment plan and care. read more

When my old urologist Dr. Cadoff unfortunately moved out of state, I was forced to choose another physician. I chose Dr. Bigelow, but I was compelled by the gatekeeper to see Dr. Avila, who was new to the practice at that time. What a horrible experience! I'm not saying Dr. Avila wasn't competent (he generally was), however his organizational skills were terrible. He routinely left me waiting in the exam room for 2-3 hours after I had busted my rear end to make the appointment on time. Of course, he offered profuse apologies every time, but what's that worth? I don't care how professional or caring a physician is, if he/she habitually keeps you waiting for hours, don't bother. I moved away from Arizona and there are a lot of things I don't miss. Miguel Cajipe has been taking care of me for several years. He has been on top of my care and even addresses my concerns via email when I'm in need. He listens to my symptoms and questions, and when I was in the hospital the staff kept him updated with my status. Even though they are short staffed right now I would wait for his knowledge, compassion, attentiveness, and thoroughness. Dr. Bigalow was recommended to me by my PCP as well as a good friend who has been a patient of his for 4-5 years and I'm so glad they did. He is professional and to the point when it came to my diagnosis which I appreciate. He is the man to see if you should happen to need your prostate removed which is the path we chose from my diagnosis. My appointments have all been on time and the entire staff there has always been kind and thoughtful. If you are in the office now, pay the cancelation fee and leave. If you have not yet scheduled for gods sakes go somewhere else. My husband went to Dr Cajipe for a kidney stone.... I went with him to his second appointment and found the doctor to be egotistical and dismissive. In his first appointment no UA or bloodwork was done, he was just sent for CT and X-rays. Primary ran blood a week later and there were multiple out of range values indicating unhappy kidneys. Husband opted for lithotripsy as the "stone" was large enough to likely get stuck. He'd had one the year before and needed emergency surgery. Didn't want to go to someone else, "just wanted to get it over with". I was told by Cajipe after the procedure that he had to "triangulate the stone's location because the scans weren't clear" and due to low dose aspirin use he couldn't turn up the waves as high as he would have liked because of bleeding risk....(husband was NOT told to stop use 5 days prior, just to not take anything 24 hours before). Follow up scans were done. In the follow up appointment we were given the reports (which I had already viewed) and although the ultrasound didn't see the stone it was in the x-ray. The real kicker was Cajipe then telling us that "it might not have been a kidney stone at all" and that despite still having no bloodwork or a UA done, we should follow up in a year. So let me get this straight.... we paid 3,000+, you had concerns about bleeding and not being able to see the stone, but you went ahead with the procedure anyway. You didn't hit it and get a slam dunk... so now it's not a stone at all? YOU HAD A CT SCAN PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE but apparently misdiagnosed him, continued with a procedure despite your concerns about bleeding and not getting good imaging and NOW ITS NOT A KIDNEY STONE! Que Obi-Wan Kenobi moment. This is not the Kidney Stone you are looking for????? The coup de gras.... His office staff gave us an order for a follow up scan a year out, which they scheduled in someone else's name, and handed us paperwork with his full name, address and birthdate. We gave it back to them.... So lock your credit with Lifelock or Experian before going here too because HIPPA and PII security doesn't mean a damn thing here either. read more

First & Formost: It was my responsibility to understand pricing for a vasectomy but boy they will not help you. It's only $500 after insurance. Okay, great! Well, I had to get a anesthesiologist. No worries, how much for that I asked 2 nurses and actual office Manager. Who doesn't remember me asking her- Trust me I did*, Do you have insurance they asked, Yep. Oh it's not much more. I took their words thinking what $100-$200 for 20-40min procedure. The anesthesiologist bill comes almost $500.00 after insurance. Plus, it cost more than the entire procedure all together*****The office will not take any accountability about training, policy or procedure. Take care of your patients, do a better job informing them. Not everyone goes to the Dr. and understands the process and it's loopholes....This office failed at a high level and I will definitely spread the word to everyone I know. I called their office today to reconfirm an appointment I had for next week.My call took a full 45 minutes because I was placed on hold 3 times by a receptionist who had no phone skills or manners whatsoever. I just had my fifth Immunotherapy procedure done yesterday by MA's Kim & Alma. Alma is in "training" and she is a natural. There was very little discomfort this time. I've had a couple where I experienced a lot more discomfort. This therapy is for helping to stop bladder cancer. if you have any procedures where a catheter needs to go up the urethra into the bladder these are the folks to see. All the negative reviews are true about this place. My PCP referred me to them so I set up an appointment. Long story short, they lost a urine sample I did. Instead of just saying they lost it, they kept making excuses on why the results weren't in. The doctor told me it would only take 4 days for the results. I kept calling back until finally they said they had no records of me doing a sample at all over 2 weeks later. Dr. Manuel Isenberg was rushed and condescending. Due to my fairly young age my concerns, I feel, were not taken seriously. I was prescribed some pills and that's pretty much all. The Doctor was in the room no longer than 5 minutes. I do not recommend! My husband went in for a vasectomy and came out with some major complications from the urologist's work. The complications he suffered were not listed as complications from the handout we were given. Dr Cajipe had listed them as a myth in his handout. Been a patient with Dr Avila for over 20+ years. The past 2+ years the wait time exceeds 1-1.5 hrs. He double books appts. Last appointment the Office Mgr comes out into the patient waiting area and talks with four waiting patients. Officer Mgr announces, "Need to reschedule your appointment, 3-6 six's weeks out." I went to the ED with what I thought was a kidney stone. It turns out I have a mass on my right kidney. I found Ironwood Urology through a Google search and scheduled my follow up with Dr. Bigelow. Unfortunately, I have kidney cancer. Fortunately, it's very treatable. Dr. Bigelow is the kind of doctor a like. Doesn't sugar coat things and gives you the facts, straight up. I think very highly of Dr. Avila, and I am very happy with his qualifications as a physician. Unfortunately, my experiences with the office staff (especially the Office Manager) leaves a lot to be desired. I had multiple phone and face-to-face contacts with the office just to try and get my first appointment. No one seemed to understand the referral process. On multiple occassions I was kept waiting in the examining room for over 50 minutes, apparently from overbooking. Once I was told on check-in that I didn't need a urine sample. When the nurse came to the exam room she asked for the urine sample. She said she would ask the Dr. if he needed one then let me know. She never came back. By the time the Dr. came in, it was too late. On my last visit to the office, the Dr. said he needed a urine sample to check for protein in the urine. After 10 days of not hearing from them about the results, I went to the office. The Office Manager insisted a test was done in-house, and since I didn't receive a call that meant nothing was wrong. I kept asking about the protein levels, the Office Manage kept responding that if anything significant was found they would've called me. So now I will go to my Primary Care physician and ask to have a urine sample done. read more

1.9 stars. Not a surprise. I saw a doctor Cajipe in Gilbert last week who was aggressive and had an attitude, sat with his fist on his hip like a bulldog the entire time, very off putting. I made an appointment on Friday last week at their Phoenix location for this past Monday with a different doctor and got a call later saying they had to reschedule because the doctor would be in surgery. Wouldn't they know on Friday that he would be in Surgery Monday am?? Seemed fishy but I allowed them to reschedule me for Thursday (tomorrow) this week. I got a call this morning confirming my appointment for tomorrow, which I did confirm. About an hour ago I got a voicemail from them saying they needed to reschedule as the doctor will be in surgery. Again??! So I try to call back, they kept me on hold for over 10 min. Called back again and got out on hold. This outfit should not be allowed to be in business at all. read more
