I posted a review of this Arizona Preferred Surgeons & Dr. McClary, 2+ years ago. And still today, I have nothing but the utmost respect for ALL the surgeons within this practice. As well as the staff. They all mean the world to me. They saved my life (more than once) in so many ways. Not just with my health, but the emotional overcoming of what I experienced. They have ALL (from front desk to MA's, to PA's, NP's, Surgeon's, Office Manager, etc.) touched my life and my family's life. I am a 36 year old wife with four beautiful children. My two oldest (daughter & son) are old enough to remember the "me" I was before all the surgeries and hospital stays. Which I spent more time in the hospital than I did at home. The older two children can remember every moment of every scary experience. Even one's that I myself am unable to remember. But my two littles, (daughters), don't remember the days that mama was able to hold them and sing to them, and do any & EVERYTHING with them. They don't know their mom who wasn't sick. But they are all four just amazing human beings. My husband had to go from being the fun dad to being the "do it all" daddy. And he's been wonderful about it. I still need to have a few more procedures and haven't been doing well lately. And there is not another surgical office that I would trust with my life, than this office. I'm a high-risk patient, and Dr. McClary is my most trusted surgeon and human being in general for my complications. But I have had the pleasure of seeing all the physicians within this practice. And I would recommend ANY & ALL of them! My anatomy is just a bit different than others lol! And Dr. McClary has been there from the start of me becoming a higher risk patient. AVOID. Lost referrals. Deny they accept insurance. They call me RE: referral - oh do not accept that insurance. Oh we operate multiple businesses here. Other biz accepts that insurance. Appointment goes OK - DOCTOR IS GREAT. Incomplete orders to medical facility. No pain meds @ Rx - another follow-up. Another call to schedule follow-up appointment - forgot to schedule. Unsure if this is "in play" here, but more and more medical practices are nothing more than shells macerating for some conglomerate. Doctors are employees without any ownership or oversight for the staff. Staff turnover is horrific with least cost apparent. There is a valley urology multi-location practice than worse than this. But my opinion a race to the bottom. read more

I saw Dr. Zhubii on 2-11-2025 to discuss surgery for my frequent diverticulitis flare up He explained why surgery would benefit me and I agree to this procedure He explained it would take around two weeks before someone would contact me from his office I did receive a call from staff around a week and a half later to find out what hospital and date would be best for me. It has been 4 weeks since my office visit and I have not heard from Dr. Zhubi office. I don't feel confident dealing with a surgeon or his staff that do not follow up or communicate with patients. This doctor and staff have lost my confidence and I will seek medical care elsewhere. read more

My wife was recommended to Dr. Zhubi for a 2nd opinion on her diagnosis of Stage 3b colon-rectal cancer. After a lengthy and open discussion on her diagnosis, options, pros and cons, decision was made to proceed with Dr. Zhubi. His approach and demeaner are very professional, cordial, clear, in layman language, and he answered all questions. Although her condition was severe, Dr. Zhubi, had high confidence that her cancer could be removed, and a probability that she would recover without wearing a colostomy pouch for the remainder of her life. Prior surgeons felt confident on the cancer removal but stated she would wear a pouch for life. The marathon surgery, partnered with a GYN oncologist and urologist, went very well. She went from wearing her colostomy pouch (from earlier ER surgery) to an ileostomy pouch for a few months. At this point she is in FULL remission on her cancer. She had her reversal surgery a couple weeks ago, pouch GONE! Now she is in transition get her GI plumbing running normal again. Going well. Having Dr. Zhubi and his Team there for the pre-surgery, surgery, and all of the steps during post-surgery have been absolutely amazing, an absolute God send and blessing. We are recommending Dr. Zhubi and his Team to everyone we talk to. We are also telling, not recommending, that everyone get a colonoscopy exam. Better safe than sorry! read more

This is the worst doctor I've ever been to. She is not available on phone on her patient portal or in her office. Every month my medication was overdue. She does not keep track of who is due for medication unless you are lucky enough to get a hold of her. read more

I was referred to Dr. Kara Villareal and couldn't have been more satisfied. I was originally referred for gallbladder issues but Dr. Villareal didn't immediately jump into surgery; she referred me to a GI specialist and we found another issue causing my symptoms. Dr. Villareal is so knowledgeable but makes you feel like you are THE most important patient when she talks to you. She explained everything very clearly and honestly. She makes your issue understandable and calms you with her knowledge. She is friendly and caring and has a great sense of humor. Dr Brian Lipton did my hernia surgery. Had no issues whatsoever. He did an amazing job. I barely had any pain even after the surgery and the incision was tiny and in the best possible place. Overall, very happy with the expertise by Dr. Lipton, great experience overall. read more

I really don't know where to start, I can't say enough good things about Dr. McClary and her whole staff! They are so nice and very efficient. I've been coming to Dr. McClary for about 15 years at least. I drive close to an hour to see her because I would not go to anybody else ever. She is the package ! She is very compassionate and totally takes her time with you to listen and ask any questions, especially with any fears. She goes over and beyond to try to make your experience of fear with a bad past experience with another doctor, totally different. Also she is funny and light. Well where do I start, My experience was one to remember for sure! I was a pretty sick patient, just had come out of ICU with Septic, pneumonia, influenza and a few more issues. I can't say enough good things about doctor Lipton. He's very knowledgeable and confident yet humble and personable. He came highly recommended by my spinal surgeon and is respected throughout the medical community. My surgery went smooth and as expected and he made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. His after care is second to none. He's very thorough and will manage your care until you're completely healed and healthy. His staff is friendly and knowledgeable as well. I had a scheduled hernia repair through them at Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale, AZ. Although, they knew I had a 4 hour drive and hotel reservations, they waited until I got there to tell me I had to pay $10,000 prior to obtaining the surgery. I had Medicare, but the surgeon had put me down as self-pay. No one would explain why they would not accept my Medicare. Things got heated so they had the hospital kidnap me and hold me in the ER for 3 days (PLEASE NOTE- NOT THE PSYCH WARD BUT THE ER). This is against the law. I asked to call the police and I was refused and my belongings confiscated. I did not receive food or water for 3 days and I was assaulted by young patients under the watchful eye of the duty nurse. AZ Preferred now bills me for services never rendered but charged to my insurance- the insurance I never had according to them. They are liars and they will not treat you with respect and I would never trust their surgeons. BTW, I also had to pay for the hotel I never used, thanks to them. I am looking for anattorney. I had Dr Lipton for a surgery that ended up with having 3 surgeries at the same time to correct my problem. Dr Lipton explained everything and was very kind and answered any questions and drew pictures to make everything clear. Had a excellent outcome and would definitely see Dr Lipton again for surgery. I met with Dr. Villareal on 24 March 2021. She recommended a procedure for my gallbladder. I had to follow up to find out why there was a delay in scheduling the procedure she recommended, with her support staff. The procedure was finally scheduled for 27 April 2021. She recommended a nuclear test for my gallbladder. I have been patient and finally called the office on 6 May 2021 to find out the results. I was informed the results "had been scanned into my records" and Dr. Villareal would be in shortly. It is now 7 May 2021 at 5:00 PM and I have not received a return call. Customer service is not #1 with this physician. I hope things turn around and I receive the information I need. read more

I had to have my gallbladder removed and was very nervous about having surgery. Dr. McClary was very good at explaining everything in a way I could understand both before, and after surgery. She also aswered every question I had and was great at calming my nerves. My surgery went well and everything healed quickly with no issues. I would highly recommend this surgeon's office. read more

My husband had an infected gallbladder (post scan & lab done through ER) in Nov. 2019. Dr. McClary was called in for a surgical consult. Because he was asymptomatic, she went the extra mile to confirm that the gallbladder was the issue. That meant surgery was done on a Friday eve at 5:30 with Dr. Villarreal assisting. Due to obesity and the deterioration of the organ, the procedure required her special skills to get it done. Discharge occurred the next day. I know that what Dr McClary handled for me doesn't get talked about much but right now I am singing her praises from the heavens! I have suffered many a year with hemorrhoids and decided I would at leat go get looked at. I did thorough research on many different sites and looked into accreditations and Debora McClary had everything I was looking for. I booked an appointment and she handled me with kit gloves, she spoke in my language and was very open and honest. She acknowledged how hard it was from my perspective and showed such sympathy I felt as though she were going thru the procedure with me! I was given numerous ways to handle my situation and asked for her recommendation and went with that. She told me just what to expect and never sugar coated it. When I came around she was right there with her fabulous smile and was asking how I was doing...I was drugged up so I was just great!(LOL) I had pain afterwards and called her office several times and they answered every question I had, I mean I called often and was never left with a feeling of being a bother. I recovered fully after about 6 weeks and could not be happier...I cannot believe I went as long as I did.
