Solid beer! Really enjoyed the variety of beers and loved their dry Irish stout - Guinnot. Will definitely visit again!

Reading reviews and some magazine articles, I was drawn to this place when visiting (a very barren…read moreand depressing, but historically important, downtown of) Altoona during the holidays. Cutting to the chase, the brown ale was good, definitely merits the 4+ ratings on beer sites, no doubt. Brewery part of the stop was well-executed. Food took things in a very wrong direction.... Concern being that I ordered a simple mac n' cheese (I guess "large" size - $13.50, what?), adding some "famous pulled pork," which ended up being $16.50 or something along those lines - I received a MICRO, emphasizing MICRO order of mac n' cheese in a small bowl that probably cost them $1.25 to make - great, flavors were just very average and they seemed to be all jazzed that it came with chopped jalapeno on the top. Fancy, y'all. Cost-wise, one pint of beer and this incredibly tiny meal cost over $30, post-tip (still hooked them up) in a dead downtown that frankly needs all the business it can get. Got gas one the outskirts and the strip malls are absolutely surging, which would usually be a major bummer for me, but honestly not in this case after getting econo-slammed. I was honestly shocked there weren't those neon signs in cursive that said stuff like "chow down, chug down," grass on the vertical wall, and other basic things, but I was probably too preoccupied by the fact that every table had "hold for reservation" and I wasn't pointed to sit places, with the bar being full and all, until I asked. Summary - MID, MID, MID food that's in small portions that is an absolute shill in 2025, in a community that's on it's downside economically. So frustrating that places like this are highly-touted.

This place is amazing!…read more Incredible ambiance, wonderful service with excellent food and beverage selection! I love the PA only wine and beer program. The house brewed Belgian Blonde was one of the best beers I've had all year! We also tried two PA wines, Mazza Cabernet Franc and the house Chardonnay. Both were excellent. Schweety had the beef panini with fries. The roasted red peppers on the sandwich really made it special and the cheese on the fries was SO good! My pasta featured perfectly cooked pasta, grilled chicken, diced mushrooms and creamy sauce and also came with a wonderful side salad. So glad we found this hidden gem.

We sat near the window and waited for service for quite awhile until a manager (hat, glasses, tie) came over and apologized and sent a waitress to us. We ordered a margherita flatbread to share as an appetizer. This was good - I would have liked to have more basil on the top - whether more of the chopped or whole leaves. This really adds to the margherita style of pizza. Overall good - and highly quality cheese. I ordered the cacio de Pepe for my entree which comes with a house salad. The salad dressing was good - a light dressing and the lettuce had almonds and cranberries on it. The cacio de Pepe was very good - the pasta was cooked properly and the flavor was on-point. Very good take on an often-overlooked dish. For dessert, I ordered the blackberry cheesecake - which was good, but the bottom crust was way too thick and was hard to cut with the spoon even with me applying all the pressure I could. The waitress ended up taking the pizza off the bill for our wait at the beginning. She was attentive but there were some lulls in service where we could have kept the meal moving and cleared the table quicker for their benefit. Good place - worth a try!

I was looking for a place with a hearty vegan option half-way between Toledo and New York City…read morewithout going too far off the highway and it seemed like Station 101 would fit the bill- a Black Bean Burger made in house, some tasty nacho options, and I even called ahead to confirm we could get a hearty vegan option, and confirmed it was! Yay! Unfortunately, when we arrived, the last Bean Burger had been sold and the black beans listed as a side were actually cooked in some heavy butter... so it became one of those stops where only French fries were the hot vegan option... because who wants a cold salad when it's 20°F?! In any case, the server was very nice about it and the Craft Beer was still vegan, and because we called ahead about the vegan burger option, they even comped the fries for running out. So- disappointed it wasn't as hearty as we hoped for a vegan on our arrival- but very kind to apologize with comped fries. For those who weren't vegan- the French Dip on ciabatta was on special and sooooo good. I don't like horseradish and it didn't overwhelm the flavor, so it was absolutely perfect! The pulled pork melt with crispy fried onions and bbq sauce was also excellent with a very crunchy buttered thick Texas toast bread. Excellent food when it's available- and hoping for a few more vegan options because Pennsylvania towns are a bit of slim pickings if you don't want to eat animal products!
