Half of my party are new to the area and we saw really good reviews for this place, so decided to try it. The staff were very nice, we sat outside to eat and enjoy the view. The food was good, I had the cheesesteak, but all I got on the sandwich was the meat, a very small amount of cheese and no mushrooms. The fries it came with were really good, crispy with a good taste. The sweet tea was very good! If we go again, I'll try a chicken dish, hopefully it will be better! read more

We love going to the Ironton area. First time here, and we loved it! The food was very good, nice sized portions, our server was friendly and attentive. They have daily specials at a good price. The drinks are served in these huge cups-great souvenir! There are a few separate areas that look like they can be used for groups. Very clean, nothing fancy. We'll return! read more

Just about every time we come through Ironton, we make it a point to eat at the Iron Mule. It's always good and always has great customer service. I forgot what this was called that I ate but it was like a loaded chili dog on a bed of fries. The place always looks nice and has a bar and a deck to eat outside. read more

My husband and I tried the Taco About a Pizza. Wow, this is one of the best taco pizzas we've had. The refried beans sauce is genius. I wish it was served with some queso to dip the crust. The wings were also delicious. We got a 12 piece with two sauces: Nashville hot and hot honey. Blue cheese sauce seems house made with real blue cheese! Next time we want to try the Burn your Face off wing sauce. The restaurant was clean and bright. Only gripe would be the ladies room had half the lights working and was a bit dark. The staff was friendly. Wait staff were quick to refill drinks and checked in on needs. Food was hot, flavorful, and a range of options. Our apps and pizza arrived quickly even though the place was fairly crowded. We are already planning our next trip because we want to try more. read more

first of all. the chicken was salty and the fries werent the fried pickles tasted awful and only the cheese curds . Second there was a lady swearing constantly in the kitchen. all in all not a good time read more

Great burgers and onion rings (with some sort of awesome dipping sauce)! Casual local place to eat, very affordable with happy service. The air conditioner was out so it was a little hot inside but definitely worth a stop. read more

The service is what is outstanding at the place! They are all so very nice. The food is good too and the prices are decent.

Perfect stop after exploring Johnson's Shut-ins State Park. The weather was beautiful so say out on their deck ... looks like the have added new deck space so that will be nice. Great menu selection sandwiches, pizza , wings, etc. Full bar so we tried out the wine & beer! Started with quest & chips then tried the Tuesday lunch special quesadilla w/ chicken and I had the grilled chicken sakes. Warning ... I only had the 1/2 salad and it was huge!!!!! We hung out on the patio. Enjoying drinks, the weather and awesome music . read more

I had never been here before but I really enjoyed it. Was not sure what to expect, but honestly it beat my expectations. I had the nachos and wings and both were great on flavor and amount of food for the money. I will caution those who don't tolerate spicy food well to stay clear of their BYFO (burn your face off) sauce. I have had hot wings all over the country and these were some of the hottest I have had in a very long time. I enjoy very spicy food, so I loved them. My server was super friendly and very quick. I recommend this place with groups, family or even flying solo. It was a must stop if you are in the area. read more

Best wings we've had in a very long time! We got carry out but calling our order in & picking it up went great. We'll absolutely eat here again when we are in the area. read more

Hard to decide with this menu...there was a little bit of everything. Great appetizer selection. We opted for the Mac & cheese bites & pretzel sticks. They were both amazing! For entrees, my kids chose the pretzels, and we had the thin crust pizzas. Hubby also added a side of wings which were just ok. Both thin crust pizzas were very good & plenty to take home for a late night snack. The draft beer sell was lacking, but the restaurant made up for it in their selection of bottles & cans. Lots of local beers to the area. I will definitely be back when in the area. read more

As I was traveling through the area, I found this place for pizza. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant side is very family friendly. I didn't even notice the attached pub. It was a very welcoming environment. The pizza was amazing. The additional option of provel cheese made it a creamy addition to the traditional mozzarella, the option to add is there. I also got the potato skins, which were great. Try the thin crust pizza, they don't skimp on toppings and the crust is wonderful. Prob won't be in the area again, but would stop by if I did! read more

This place is SERIOUSLY PHENOMENAL! We went there with our crew of 7 (4 little kids) on a Saturday and we felt like royalty from the time we arrived until we left. They have a fantastic menu with plenty of options for Everyone. We had the wings and they were amazing. They have any sauce from very mild to Burn Your Face Off which we of course tried and it definitely lived up to its name. My friend had one of the horseshoes and loved it and they have a great selection of drinks. The service was exceptional, food was terrific, and the place was clean. We can NOT WAIT to be in the are again and will definitely chose The Iron Mule to eat at each time. read more

Good food and a fun atmosphere. Stopped there during our travels. Would stop there again.

Thanks to Yelp, we headed here for lunch after Elephant Rocks. Highly recommend! Wings, burgers, cheese curds - all delicious. Great service. Only about 7 min from elephant rocks! read more

Service was fantastic! The young wait staff was very attentive to us. Kind of limited on setups, paper plates and plastic knives and forks. But it was good enough for us. We had pizza, which was really pretty good. Great crust!!! The price was good and all the locals were there, so that's a plus. read more

Great food, cold beer, friendly servers. Bathrooms are immaculate. Love peeing on B. Great place!

Great local spot! Our 16 month old discovered his love for ranch dressing with their homemade recipe! Yum! The shrimp po boy was delicious as were the burgers and gumbo! read more

What a great experience. I didn't expect much from such a small area, but do NOT hesitate to come here. Really decent liquor pours, decent selection of beer, but I'll be back for the gumbo! Like- New Orleans competition gumbo. I wasn't expecting that at all. The service was great. The view was beautiful from the deck. What an awesome end to such a quaint little area. read more

I have eaten Gumbo all over the country, including New Orleans and I can honestly rate their Gumbo as the best ever. We've had other entrees to include Pizza, chicken, salads, and burgers and have always been very satisfied with everything ordered. They also have a nice collection of beer. The service is always excellent and very professional. This is a Gem in the middle of nowhere and is well worth your time and money. I live in the area so I go here quite often. read more

Went here based on reviews and definitely NOT disappointed! Pulled pork, awesome! Wings, awesome! Pizza, great! Oh and the 10 year old raved about the hot chocolate! Highly recommend. read more

We ate here on a day trip holiday and were not disappointed. We had the gumbo, the big pretzel, and the Darth Tater. All was delicious! The wait staff was very attentive and checked in with us to make sure everything was fine. A special treat was the breadstick that came with the gumbo. Best bread stick ever! The Darth Tater is huge! I was full the rest of the day! We will definitely eat here again if we get back to the area. read more

Maybe it's good for rural food but it wasn't that great. It's "bar food" for sure. There just isn't a lot of options around here.

Pizza is delicious and the homemade ranch dressing is so good! Service was fast and server was pleasant. Will definitely return.

Very hometown feel. Fresh ingredients, even the fried items seemed fresh. Rabbit pizza and fried jalapenos were both killer! I would make a detour just to go here next time I'm in MO. read more

Don't understand the three and half star rating at this place. Amazing experience! Came with my family on a small vacation to visit family. We had a hard time finding places for dinner, since a lot of places close very early in the area. We decided to check the place out. Tons of seating, and we loved the outdoor patio. Service was excellent. They were with us right away and were quick to make sure we were getting our drinks and food quickly. Didn't take long to get it, and the best part was that the food was delicious! We were surprised at how good the food was based on our short wait. Prices were good too, considering the fact they give huge servings. Seriously, great restaurant! We loved the place so much we came twice! We even sat outside on the second day, and it was raining! The cover on the patio was great. Amazing seating, amazing service, amazing food. Very kid friendly too. Kids meals are on the menu. Definitely stop by if you are in the area! read more

Get out your wallet for this place. WAY too over priced with tiny portions for your money. My advice: check out The Rustler down the road, where there is great food, prices, and service! read more

Stopped by here on a whim while in town before a backpacking trip, and my boyfriend and I were genuinely blown away by how great the food was. Not only that, one of the owners (Wade I believe) was so friendly and hospitable. The food was so good that we returned post-hike to try out more items on their menu. Beer selection is fantastic, tasty food aplenty, and friendly service. We will make the drive to come back to this establishment before and after another hike in this beautiful area. read more
