Last night's take out order was a complete opposite of our previous visit. Imagine my disappointment when I was looking forward to an order of wings only to find out that they don't sell them any longer. (I could not find an updated menu online and so had to resort to a spur of the moment alternative as I blundered and stammered my way through an order on the phone.). We were told 20 minutes. We arrived well within that parameter and still had to wait another 25 minutes before our food was ready. While waiting, I think my husband managed to memorize the entire inventory of the variety of alcohol displayed on the shelves. Apparently in the cooking process the cook hadn't timed the cooking of the hamburgers with the cooking of the shoestring potatoes resulting in cold burgers as well as cold fries. As my husband observed, the wait staff consisted of one cook and one person at the counter. We weren't the only folks waiting on an order, as people outside were waiting on a pizza that flopped miserably in the oven and was a do-over. At the end of a long float, last thing you want to come back to camp and find is your hot ham and cheese sandwich floating in lukewarm cooler water, ruined beyond saving. Lenny's was not only close and convenient, but gosh, the selection of munchies, hot sandwiches, and liquor is unmatched as far as my experience in the Ozarks goes. Highly recommended, whether you're looking for a cool drink on a hot day, or somewhere out of the rain to shelter your crying, waterlogged children after a long float, Lenny's is the place to go. read more

Yeah first to review!! Heck yes. I remember meeting the owner of the place 7 or 8 years ago... advertised as "Lenny's, not Denny's". Particularly funny because the owner's name is Denny. It's nice to have this convenience store so close to Bearcat Getaway. Get your beer and anything else you need. They even sell "river ready" subs for your float. They also have a full restaurant. I first ate there about 7 years ago. I remember I got a philly sangwich and though it was heavenly at the time. I ate there again for the second time ever yesterday and got the philly, but I didn't think it was very good. It was most like a roast beef sadwich with cheese and some peppers. So... either they changed the way they make it or my perception of the quality of the food 7 years ago was off due to the consumption of adult beverages. I don't know. I also got some chicken strips with honey mustard which were good, but its same stuff you'd expect from a dive bar. I'm glad the place is there though, despite food mediocrity. Bearcat Getaway is in the middle of nowhere and this is the only establishment that is a reasonable driving distance from the camp. I'd give them a five for the convenience store and a generous 3 on the food. As a side note you can go to the register and ask for a "Lenny,s not Denny's" bumper sticker. They are free! What crap... I'm sitting here in front of the place now. We got here at 8:20 after spending the day swimming near by. The online website says they close at 9. We called before arriving to be sure that they would be open and was told yes. When we got here at 8:20 the lady inside told me that they can't serve us because they closed at 8... me and my four kids are now trying to find a place to eat in a unfamiliar city because of they are too lazy to serve us too close to closing time. This is the saddening and I sure hope this review helps you all out. They don't deserve your money, they simply don't want to work for it. read more

This place has amazing food. We had the Lenny's burger and the Lenny's fries with pulled pork and both were so good. Only complaint would be the girl we ordered from at the counter on Friday and Saturday morning on July 20 and 21st I believe. She was young with dark hair and the rudest person we have encountered in a long time(including New York and Miami). She didn't want to help us with the order which was a very simple question and acted condescending when we asked any questions. read more

I've been coming down with a group from Peoria, IL for 7 years straight (Group's done it for 18). Lenny's is a great place that is the definition of a "convenience store" when you consider the remote location of the Bearcat Getaway. It's a short drive up the road (5-10 min), and it's like 3 shops in one: Booze, Carryout Restaurant, and a good-sized store with all types of River essentials. Whether you're stocked or not, make sure to stop in there. The Staff is great! read more

First time to Lesterville, MO. Not much here. Lenny's is a small liquor, grocery and eatery. Has a nice patio attached for outdoor dining. Has Hunts Brothers Pizza or a full menu of sandwiches and other grill style foods. Right next to Twin Rivers Landing. read more
