At first I was nervous to sign a lease with HomeWorks simply because the reviews were terrible--…read morebut we liked the house and took a leap of faith. Honestly, our experience has been very pleasant! The management team has been VERY helpful and timely when a work order was submitted. The house we moved into was vacant for 5 months, and soon after we moved in we noticed a mouse problem. We were naturally very nervous and hoped HomeWorks would resolve the issue as it was preexisting. My husband and I personally purchased about $70 worth of pest control, and after submitting receipts to management they credited our rent for the following month. They were very reasonable, understanding, and helpful throughout the whole process. The only frustration I had was that the house was grimy/dirty/filthy when we moved in. The company does a "commercial cleaning", however the floors were filthy, and there were COPIOUS amounts of dog hair throughout the house. When I mopped the basement the bucket had thick mud at the bottom, even after 4 times mopping. I had to clean for a week straight-- scrubbing banisters, sweeping, and mopping multiple times before we felt comfortable unpacking. As a whole, HomeWorks is a decent place to lease from. If you read an especially terrible review, keep in mind that 9/10 times it's bitter tenants airing out their dirty laundry, for reasons that were likely their own fault in the first place. HomeWorks management are NOT slumlords.

I could've paid more for something further but I chose these jerks before even moving to IN. Note: please check for rats roaches and other animals before moving in. management is horrible and don't even ask for maintenance because it doesn't exist. You'll basically be taking over ownership of the home while your there. Nasty carpets, bathroom falling apart 2 mos after I moved in not to mention none of the vents were cleaned before I moved in which I was told they would be. Most of the people in that office lie and pass you on to another person to lie to you again until you say F** it I'm out and had to pay to break your lease. My experience may different than yours but I guarantee that yours will be close if you rent from these idiots. Read the comments.

SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. Do not rent from Central Management Realty if you have other options…read more Like everyone else here, if I could leave zero stars, I would. The few times we had to call maintenance, it was always DAYS before someone came out to fix anything. I work from home and I'm in meetings most of the day, and the maintenance guy was there installing a new water heater. He was on the phone with one of the girls from the office (had her on speaker phone) cussing up a storm and gossiping about other people. Completely unprofessional. The biggest issue started when we had a small fire in our kitchen. According to the fire marshall, the fire started because the stove in our rental was decades old and there was no source of ventilation above the stove at all. The fire left us without power, and all we needed was an electrician to be sent out to inspect and turn the power back on. At one point, they sent their "maintenance guy" out again to take a look. Well, not only did he not turn on the power, but he actually SHUT OUR WATER OFF while we were there without saying anything to us. This whole time, by the way, they had put a lockbox on our door with a key in it so I guess whoever had the code could get in whenever they want. In the end, it took them nearly a week to get our power back on. In the meantime, we were living in our house without power in March, all $400 of our new groceries in our fridge went bad, and we had to spend a couple of nights in a hotel. Of course, this was of no concern to them, nor did they offer to put us up anywhere while repairs were made. We were left without a working stove for over a month. Luckily, there is a clause in our contract that allowed us to break our lease early if there were damages caused to the premises that deemed it partially unusable. I would say that not being able to cook meals would be unusable, but of course, they "disagree" lol and are still trying nickel and dime us as much as they possibly can. Oh and if I didn't already mention, we rented from Central Management Realty for a year and a half and always paid on time. Please consider this review and all of the others here and save yourself the headache and rent from a company that has a competent owner and employees.

It was a surprise when a bunch of couples showed up. Apparently it had been changed into an Open House showing and there wasn't any warning for that, which I feel is unprofessional. We decided to try to move forward. We have been working with this company for a whole month trying to get all of the paperwork in. They won't work through third parties, so I had to ask my manager to fill out paperwork manually and turn it in. It's summer and it's slow at work, so he had time for that, but other managers might not be able to do that so beware. After a solid month of working with the company, we finally got a phone call on this past Saturday with them asking when we could bring in the deposit. The company was closed when we returned the call. Sunday they were closed. Finally, Monday, my boyfriend called to talk to them. After a month's worth of constant contact, they told us that they had already moved on and someone was coming in with their own deposit within the hour. They had not attempted to contact my number, only my boyfriend's, and they did not attempt to call us during their open hours that day. They never once got in contact with us- we called practically daily in order to know the status of our paperwork and I even came into their office on my day off in order to completely understand where we were at. We have sacrificed so much time and money in running around for these people, we have to move out of our apartment at the end of this week, and now have no place lined up to go. They didn't even offer us a phone call to tell us that we wouldn't be getting the house like they had told us they would on the phone, they emailed me (funny because they couldn't pick up a phone and call my number). We are very rational, easy to work with people and this company dragged us through every obstacle possible. If you want to be on your phone with them constantly and compete viciously and constantly with other people, go ahead. For me, 0/10, I don't even slightly recommend their services. Now on to find some comfort food and figure out a new place to live -- spoiler alert, won't be with this company.

There could be a maintenance pit in your garage that they "didn't know about" until you accidentally drive into it. They could have faulty wiring that (actual) maintenance people are flabbergasted with. Or, at their worst, they could NOT pay the electric bill that you pay a flat fee for every month, leaving you without electricity right before a blizzard. (Which YOU have to pay for, because they won't respond to your phone calls/emails and- surprise, surprise- their office magically closed up several months before and their "business" address is a deposit box.") Again, I don't know if they're around still (my place has new owners), but avoid them. Because they're absolute scum.

I used to be a tenant under a property that TAC Management was handling and it was a terrible experience. I even had to sue them and the property owner and come all the way from North Carolina to get my deposit back, which the judge immediately granted (feel free to look it up, it's on public record). I believe they thought that because I moved out of state I wouldn't press the issue, which is just disgusting, but I fully expected it from them because that's just the people they are. I wouldn't wish the headache of having to deal with them on anyone else.

RENTERS BEWARE! I submitted this group because I really want to warn any future customers/tenants…read moreof theirs. We started working with this company in April of 2015 after we found a home listed on Zillow that we were interested in renting. They were eager to give us a showing, which was nice. We did our walkthrough & pointed out several things that would need fixed. For examples: the prior tenants were smokers, we were assured they would paint prior to our move in. We also pointed out cracks in the ceiling of the living room, the wood floors needed restained, the tubs needed to be re-schlacked, the entire interior needed cleaned (the previous tenants must've been disgusting people, it was NASTY!). After our viewing they were eager to take our deposit & said they would have crews start work right away so it would be ready before our May 1st move-in date. Well.. Two days shy of May 1st (fortunately this fell on a Friday), I called to make sure everything would be ready to begin our things in that weekend. Was told their crews had been busy on other jobs & that the house would not be done by then, that I should push my move-in date back two weeks. This was totally unacceptable, as my landlord had graciously let me keep my things there that weekend at no cost, but would charge me after that weekend a prorated 2 weeks @ $350. No way, all my money had gone towards the new house! Anyways.. We ended up moving in anyway, their crew only having a day to do the things that needed done. The paint job looks like they rushed through it (they obviously did, but who's fault is that??), the tubs weren't schlacked (they wanted to do this AFTER we moved in, which I wasn't going to allow to happen, as we have three young children & that stuff is incredibly toxic), the house was NEVER cleaned (we had to wipe down & wash EVERYTHING). I didn't want the crews back in my home at all, because the first impression they gave me was METH HEADS. HELL NO I don't want these people in my house, seeing the things we have! Now having been here almost a year.. Our utility costs r through the roof. The windows r so old that we r afraid of opening them at risk of them breaking. They caulked them shut too. We have plastic up on out windows, which hasn't helped much. There is black mold that has developed in the bathroom, they painted over it to hide it from us. The basement leaks, the faucets r loose, the garage door doesn't work. The next door neighbors (on the one side r just lovely, but the other side r a seriously special kind of CRAZY!) informed me that there was a fire in the kitchen, most likely due to faulty wiring. Home Keys didn't tell me that! Bottom line.. We can't wait until our lease expires in three weeks. We will NOT be resigning our lease, and we most certainly wont ever do business with them again! Heed this warning and stay FAR FAR AWAY from these swindler! Slum lords!!!
