In my case, I just got ear lobe piercings and the process was fast and simple. The quality of the products and serialization was A1! I wish I could say my experience here was great but unfortunately I went to Melanie to get my son's name tattooed and walked out with a different name. I still don't understand how she decided mid tattoo to stop tracing the stencil that we both had agreed to and without my consent she did whatever she wanted. My sons name is Enzo and she tattooed Eozo like how the do you screw up a 4 letter name?! You would think the owner of this place would atleast speak to me over the phone reference this screw up but instead I have to call the shop and hope he's there when I call to speak to him. I'm in disbelief of how nonchalant this has been to them, like a no big deal. This only shows the poor ethics and lack of professionalism and experience of the artists and staff they have. They even said that they wouldn't charge me as if they were gifting me this tattoo like wtf?! Are you serious?! Of course you can't charge me for this!! Melanie the artist is not a professional and lacks experience and does not listen. She knew this tattoo was for my son but seems like she was in a bad mood and didn't really care to speak to me she tried to push styles that I didn't like and she was annoyed that I was asking my husband for his opinion. If you are not in this business with patience or to please your clients then simply just tattoo yourself but don't ruin someone else's body. She didn't even look sorry when she finished the tattoo and when I questioned the mispelling she said she was trying to make it look "thinner" yet that created an "o" as if she was talking to someone stupid or blind. She did this on purpose. I told her that she did not follow the stencil and I never asked her for anything different than what was agreed. I'm not sure why you would do this to someone you don't even know but it shows her wrecklessness. I have to wait 2 weeks to see how it heals and see if there is anything they can do. I don't have high hopes and I know that I'm stuck with this for life so for those reading the reviews make sure the person you go to listens and if they get annoyed easily walk away and do anything with them. I should have walked away when I saw she was annoyed so easily because I asked her to give me a moment to ask my husband. I'm leaving Iris today feeling extremely disappointed. This would've been my fifth or sixth time getting a tattoo or piercing here, and I've recommended the studio to several friends and family members. I had an appointment for an ear piercing and drove all the way up, only to find out--after waiting--that they would not allow me to use my own jewelry. It was a black diamond and white gold stud that I purchased specifically for this piercing. While I somewhat understand the policy, this is something that absolutely needs to be communicated at the time of booking. If the only option is to purchase Iris jewelry the day of, customers should be told upfront. Instead, I ended up wasting hours and leaving without the service I came for. As a side note: when I got my last piercing here (an earlobe), I brought a hoop/huggie that they declined to use due to healing time & risks of pulling--which I understood. But the piercer also told me that if I had brought a stud, they would've been able to use it. This is part of why I purchased a stud for today's appointment, only to be told it couldn't be used either. Overall, I left disappointed and frustrated, which is especially disheartening; wont be going back. read more

I visited Iris Tattoo on January 14, 2024. We arrived a little close to 5pm on a rainy Sunday. We found the store via Google Search as we were already walking around Wynwood. The store was providing shelter for a lot of people, but I gather there were also people there for appointments or walk-ins like ourselves. While doing our walk-in consultation and waiting to get started, they offered us hot tea which we loved. We didn't have to wait long and were enthusiastically helped by all staff members. My friend and I got similar-sized tattoos in the same placement but different designs, all done by Florencia. I got the aquarius glyph, and my friend got the flamingo. Flor was so amazing and friendly and we promised that next time we went back to Miami that we would visit the studio. She even agreed to take photos with us! I'm so glad we ended our weekend trip to Miami here at Iris. The studio takes professional photos of your finished tattoo. Afterwards, they send you home with a cute box with snacks, goodies, and most importantly - aftercare instructions. My tattoo has held up well since returning home to Atlanta, GA. read more

Went to see viv to get my floating navel bar in Long gated because my previous jewelry from another piercer had gotten embedded in my skin. I told her I needed a genuinely longer bar and I think I left with an even shorter bar. I got a floating naval due to my anatomy and she decided to put a flat disc bottom on a super tight bar that eventually my skin started to swallow. She charged me $102 just to change the jewelry because they charge separately for the top piece in the bottom piece $35 each along with the service of $15 to change the jewelry along with tax and then they ask for a tip. I'm absolutely appalled at the lack of care and attention to detail if you're gonna go anywhere and spend your money, I would highly recommend new age piercings in the Grove. The atmosphere of an building itself isn't a big selling point for me but the behavior of the staff is. Everyone I talked to was very kind and encouraging (good sellers). Went in for an upper lobe piercing, my mother got a cartilage piercing. We hadn't made an appointment, and just did a walk-in. After checking in, I was in the piercing chair within 10 minutes. They were very confident and professional, the cleanliness of the establishment was top tier. Anything that touched me was disposed of or sanitized and the piercing chair had the doctor's office paper. The quality of the piercing they used was very nice. Even their cheapest option was very stylish and comfortable. They have the click-in flat backs so they are easy to use and secure. I can't feel when I'm wearing them and they look nice. I have thick earlobes so I was worried about the post length, but the posts they have are very long and can accommodate room for swelling. The total for an upper lobe piercing with their titanium flat back stud was $113. I got my first lobe piercing done for around $60 and it went well, but if I were getting a body piercing or anything more complicated than a lobe piercing I would be more comfortable going to Iris. TLDR: I got an upper lobe piercing at Iris; service was fast, professional, and nice. Very trendy, clean place, good quality jewelry and piercers. Cost wasn't bad, very reasonable. Don't waste your time or money. Yes, it's standard to purchase jewelry when getting pierced--but the quality here is shockingly poor and way overpriced. I paid $300 for two small pieces that broke within three weeks (I still have them). I ended up replacing them with my platinum diamond earrings, which worked perfectly. You're better off going to a reputable piercing studio that charges around $50 for quality placeholders and professional service. No matter if this is your first piercing/tattoo or eighth, Iris is a must. I've gotten so many dainty tattoos and piercings, but never have I ever been impressed as I was with Iris. Finding the location is a bit tricky, as it's not a stand alone boutique. Instead, you'll have to enter via the Cynergi Building, and get redirected to the fourth (piercings) or fifth (tattoos) floor by a front desk security guard. Both are fairly easy to find from there, as they are both straight shots down the hall. You will have to ring the doorbell, as doors are locked. Super secure, tbh. The shops itself, wowwww, so chic! Everything is adorned with a boho chic vibe, very minimalistic and clean. Pricing for piercings and the jewelry are fairly priced, $35/earlobe with a variety of pricing for jewelry. As for the tattoos, they are priced at a $200 minimum, but of course, can vary on what you are trying to get. Note: they will not tattoo the inside of fingers, as this will ruin the integrity of the ink. Daniel (head piercer) was my piercing specialist and he made the experience soothing. His tone of voice is calming, as he guides you step by step through the process. Impressed? Here's the cherry on top: they provide you with a personalized card kit that contains instructions, cleaning and saline solution, and a cute rose quartz crystal for positivity. When tip options came on i pressed the incorrect one and was unable to go back. The gentleman ringing me up was not listening to what I wanted to do and just kept asking if what I wanted to do was leave more tip. Updating my reviews as I went in to Iris yesterday to visit Rustem again. He helped me bring to life a special tattoo I had dreamed up in honor of my mom. He is so talented, and it not surprisingly came out even better than I imagined it! I also visited Ana for piercings. The Iris Tattoo shop has a studio for tattoos and then one for piercings .Both are beautiful. Ana did a great job at my second lobe piercing. Similar to the tattoo welcome, you receive a super cute box of gifts and after care treatment with your service. The piercings here are done by needle and you can tell that both Ana and Danny (the other piercing artist) are so talented. I really can't say enough good things about Iris. First of all, I'd like to thank Iris for being so polite and helpful over email when I was asking questions while looking for a place to get pierced. I've been wanting my lobes pierced since I was old enough to understand what earrings were, so I did not take the choice of where to get pierced lightly. (After all, I wouldn't want to disappoint the six-year-old me who wore painful clip-ons for a month, or the fourteen-year-old me who made a 35-slide PowerPoint about why I should have my ears pierced.) Mya and Nikki were super nice and answered all my questions and even added my mom to my appointment for me so we didn't have to make two appointments. I decided that a shop dedicated to making a customer comfortable before they even walked into the shop was worth my business. The shop itself is super welcoming and clean; you get good vibes just from walking in. I gotta say the giant labrets and curved barbells adorning the window were a bold choice, but I think they worked. The waiting area had several choices of entertainment, from magazines to tarot cards (!!), but unfortunately I had no time to peruse them after turning in my consent form. They then took me to the jewelry selection--I've included pictures of the four jewelry stands as they appeared during my visit for anyone who wants an idea of what it looks like IRL, but you can also check their jewelry and jewelry prices out on their website. The minimum jewelry cost for the kind of piercing I was getting was $25, so that's what I paid for the titanium opal studs (of which they had several equally priced sizes and colors). They showed me the price before the piercing (I paid $116, $30 per ear plus jewelry and tax). Once I had selected the jewelry, Jocelyn took me over to the little booth where I would get pierced. She was very thorough in explaining the piercing process and aftercare while she got all the supplies out. She was also very patient in marking my ears, even though we marked them three times and then I went with the first marks she made. I'm glad I did--she made them based on her expertise in piercing placement and once the jewelry was in it was perfectly placed. Then came the piercing, which I won't lie, did hurt, but Jocelyn explained what was happening as she did it, so I felt at ease even though I knew it would be a bit painful. Everything was sterile and single-use, and even the gloves were designed to be put on without touching the outside. A couple of guys walked past and saw me through the window while I was getting pierced--Sunglasses Guy, if you're out there, hi again. I've also included pics of my new piercings for anyone curious about also getting their lobes done here. My mom got her second lobe piercing done the same day and also had a wonderful experience. Many people have touched upon the free personalized aftercare bags, so I'll just say that they were very quick in messaging us to let us know we'd accidentally abandoned our bags in our glee over our newfound piercings. Thanks, Iris! Also, this is a very minor, random thing, but the bags they gave us were super sturdy and well-made, with a Velcro closure. Definitely one you'd want to reuse. All in all, I had an amazing experience at Iris and definitely felt comfortable in the shop and before I walked in. It's been a few days since the piercing and although there's some swelling, the jewelry still fits and they barely hurt the next day. It's definitely a few bucks more expensive than Claire's (insert rant on piercing guns here), but I definitely feel like I paid for high-quality jewelry that won't tarnish, get tangled in my hair, or fall off--and of course, the skilled service from Jocelyn. Iris definitely made my piercing experience live up to Child-Me's expectations--I know that somewhere inside me, she's thrilled! read more

I have a beautiful tattoo from Iris that I did at the end of 2021, despite knowing it is a good tattoo I felt the need to come and leave a review. This was my third tattoo and since then I have gotten 3 more, so 6 altogether. Here are all the things I disliked about Iris. I waited 30 min past my arrival/appt time to be called back. No proper consultation before the tattoo, even the day of. When I advised the artist that I wanted the flowers to have color she dismissed me and told me that she would have to reschedule because she didn't have time for that. I had advised them on the phone about the coloring too, but at this point I opted to move forward in black only since I had already waited weeks for this appointment. The piece was very emotional for me, as it was a tribute piece for my deceased sister. Zero care/conversation/interest from the artist. Just no feelings involved. I had an artist who I had do an absolutely silly tattoo for me, who cared more about what that meant for me than this artist. While I can appreciate that my tattoo is pretty, these are permanent art pieces and I just feel like if you dont want to connect at all, go draw on paper not people. Plenty of much better fine line artists to work with in Miami. The last fine line piece I got was a10/10 experience and not nearly as expensive. Do your research. I loved how professional the team was, how clean everything was and how painfree it was! The aftercare good box was definitely a cute plus and my favorite part of it all is my piercing is doing great! I've been able to sleep on it, touch it and it doesn't hurt whatsoever.
