I received exceptional care from 2 employees today. Because my morning had been stressful, I arrived at the office having forgotten to remove my contact lenses. The receptionist kindly helped me resolve this problem and also provided me with a face mask. But what happened following my consultation with the doctor was truly amazing. Because my eyes were dilated and my vision seriously impaired, I could not use my phone to call an Uber and I really needed a ride because it was snowing. An assistant named Alberto leapt to my assistance, offering to book a pick-up on my behalf. When he accessed the app on my phone, we discovered my credit card information needed updating. He helped me through this process in private and then input my request for a ride. When the driver was on the way, which took only a couple of minutes, he offered to accompany me down on the elevator and out onto the street so that he could ensure the car arrived and I actually got into it. We stood on the street corner in the snow (him shivering without a jacket), his fingers flying on the screen to indicate to the driver our exact location. Bingo, the car arrived within seconds and he helped me into the rear seat. I couldn't escape the feeling that I must have come across as a seriously foolish and inept old woman. But I don't believe Alberto thought that at all. He is simply a very kind man, dedicated to doing his best for all the patients, and happy to go out of his way to help a senior overcome some obstacles. This experience restored my faith in the milk of human kindness.

Plus, my optical store's location got taken over by another optical store. One day, one of the nose pads broke. It was a sign to have a new pair of glasses!! I needed to look for a new optical store carrying my favourite eyewear brand, KIO YAMATO, and offering a free eye test. There were a few stores carrying the brand, but they got mixed reviews. I narrowed the list down to two stores in Richmond, BC. I went with President Optical, located inside President Plaza. The twin sisters and their mom were very friendly and easy to talk to. Deborah helped me pick my KIO YAMATO frame. Barbara, the refracting optician, patiently tested my eyes even though I kept asking her to repeat choice #1 and choice #2. My glasses, equipped with the high-index Zeiss SmartLife: Digital lenses, were ready in two weeks. They were happy to help me with adjusting the frame when I came back a day later. I could see much better now. Thank you. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The only thing I noticed was they charged a small amount to replace the nose pads on my old glasses. My previous optical store replaced the old nose pads for free even though my pair of glasses wasn't purchased from them.

She asked me what I was looking for, took a look at what I was currently wearing, and then came out with 5 cool pairs to try. Nicole was very professional, knowledgeable and patient in assisting me with my choice in a frame that were beyond my expectations. She took the time to tell me the difference between the frames, and all the options. Nicole promptly followed up with me one week later to find out how I was making out. Its not often customer service these days goes beyond the "ringing up at the till", but with this experience I would strongly recommend her assisting with your next purchase.

I liked his suggestions, relating to my need for Toric Contact lenses + eye glasses too. He offered to redo my eye exam, and I will do so this year. If you're on medical disability - not a problem being accepted. The eyewear on offer is stylish designer brand names similar to those seen in Holt Renfrew yet at reasonable prices that work within a limited budget. Jackson Go is very reserved, yet intelligent, thoughtful, considerate & good at what he does. He's really good about repairs or exchanging any flaw/ faulty things going on. I will be ordering from them myself soon, we both have high prescriptions so we don't get the 2 for X$ deals because we need thin lenses, but none the less walking away paying $375 instead of the 600-700 at lenscrafters? amazing!

The day I went to the Main Street location for an exam was very busy with about 10+ customers. Staff were swamped and perhaps feeling the pressure of needing to attend to everyone without making them wait too long. I didn't wait too long and felt confident in the optician who did the examination. The person who helped me with frames did not rush me, was focused on what I needed despite all of the other customers milling around and was super friendly, helpful and efficient. Main Street can have a bad rep of being a bit snobby, but this was the friendliest shop I've ever been to on Main aside from Red Cat. It was actually disarming how friendly and unpretentious they were. The Manager was also so helpful, professional and very knowledgeable and I could tell he was totally on top of things and knew how to operate the business with the technical knowledge for the type of business it is. It felt like he actually cared about his staff, customers and how well this location performed. Superb job in a very challenging time when staff are hard to find, retain and keep happy. I'll admit that I originally went to another location where the staff looked through a big manual to answer my questions and I left not ordering anything because I didn't feel confident in what they were telling me. I totally recommend the Main Street location.
