I have spent a long time researching dentists in and around the City and County of San Diego. I am someone who is very particular about who is performing any medical procedures on me. My search has been long and thorough to find the best of the best in the Dental arena. It has been a hard road full of more disappointments then I can tell you. That is until now.
Based on a very positive blog I came across, I discovered Iris Dental, located in Lemon Grove on Broadway. So I decided to take a chance and become a patient.
On my first visit to Iris Dental, I was greeted by Tiffany the Officer Manager. Tiffany immediately made me feel welcomed, comfortable and relaxed. She promptly took care of all the necessary paper work and scheduled me for my first dental assessment appointment. Her sweet, kind and honest demeanor was like a breath of fresh air. Tiffany recognized my new dental insurance plan and was able to clearly explain how my coverage worked.
My front tooth had chipped and there was a good amount of decay going on. I felt embarrassed to smile; it was really a self-esteem bummer. I knew I needed a root canal, I also realized I had a lot of other dental issues. I had been neglecting my dental problems for a verity of reasons, mainly because of bad experiences with other dentists.
On my first dental appointment, I needed a series of x-rays to determine where my dental priorities should be. It was on that appointment that I first met Doctor Tran. Doctor Tran is the head resident Dentist for Iris Dental. I found him to be professional, polite and very personable. His straight forward honest approach to his profession really popped out at me. After reviewing my x-rays he gave me an honest assessment of my dental situation. He discovered that I had a low grade infection surrounding my rear left morel. The fracture was the result of a six your old root cannel that had gone horribly wrong. The dentist accidently caused a hairline crack in the root of my molar. He told me it might heal in time and it did, however, it has always been sensitive and painful at times. The young dentist was swamped and distracted when he was doing the root canal. He was young, inexperienced and seemed to have more concern about his assistant's social life then concentrating on the high speed drill he had pointed at my molar. Since I always error on the side of forgiveness, I told him not to feel bad, we all make errors from time to time and forgave him. Needless to say I never went back. It could have been a lot more serious had Doctor Tran not discovered the infection in my x-rays. I subconsciously knew there was something wrong. My fear of dentists over powered my common senses to seek help. I may have had the infection for the past several years, it could have gotten a lot worse.
In conclusion, Doctor Tran gave me the positive, straight forward feedback I needed to bring me back into the civilized world of dentistry. I no longer fear going to the dentist. My front tooth root cannel was painless and they fitted me with the crown during the same appointment, no one does that. Doctor Tran and his wonderful Dental Hygienist/ assistant are an amazon team. His Dental Hygienist is so reassuring and kind, words cannot describe her incredible skill set. If I were to describe her, I would say, she is a detailed oriented, highly trained professional with a kind, comforting personality. Tiffany the Office manager is simply great! She is right up front with what dental procedure is being performed and what my co-pay will be. There are no hidden surprise co-payments or costs, which is they way I like it.
I give my highest endorsement and recommendation for all the folks at Iris Dental; they are indeed to top of their field. They are the best of the best, trust me when I say you won't find a better team anywhere.
