He's pricey but worth it. I have a lot of gum recession and had two gum grafts and they both came out amazingly. He's very talented and attentive. You won't get this kind of service at a super dentist. He doesn't take a lot of insurance but again, you get what you pay for. I'm about to go in for another gum graft and I'll pay the price because this isn't something you want to bargain hunt. I trust him to get the job done correctly and he stands by his work. read more

This is my 2nd review in three years for Dr Factor, and since my last review he has moved to a newer office just off the 8 freeway near San Diego State University. I felt compelled to add another 5 star review because he did such an amazing job with an emergency infected tooth extraction for me that I needed to have done on a moments notice. I had a medical surgery appointment booked and I discovered the tooth infection a week before, and needed it pulled immediately so I would not have to reschedule the hard to get medical surgery appointment. Dr Factor understood my urgency and fit me in the day I called . When he would normally be going home after a full day, he and his quality staff were working over time at the end of the day to extract a very difficult tooth . He is truly a professional and an artist at what he does. I have had 5 implants from him, all working great, and this tooth pull was his latest work of art on my aging teeth. The best part was he didn't even charge me extra for the over time work, when he should have been home after a hard day at the office with his feet up in a massage recliner. read more

Today was my first time seeing dr Jeremy n he was extremely nice and helpful. He explained everything very well. Took his time. I didn't feel rushed w the evaluation. Everything was very clear n straight forward. He asked me a couple of times if I had any questions. Made me feel comfortable. Even w the treatment plan he seemed very accommodating. I'm a self-pay patient. Thought my treatment plan was going to be a lot more than what it is. Haven't gone forward w the procedure but I will definitely will be doing so w under dr Jeremy's care. My dentist referred me here for a crown lengthening on my back molar back in May. The payment plan is a bit different than most other insurance-accepting offices. Here they want the money upfront in case your insurance doesn't pay. I guess they have had problems with insurance not paying. The office said we either had to pay it all upfront, or had to sign a credit agreement where we paid 1/3 of it right away, then paid 1/3 per month until it's paid off. If your insurance pays it in the meantime, you then have to wait for them to write you a refund check, which can take a couple of weeks. You also must pay in full for the initial visit upfront. My crown lengthening went all right. Dr. Factor recommended some light anesthesia, which I turned down because of the extra cost and because it wouldn't take too long and because I don't like being put under, even in twilight sleep. The procedure was uncomfortable, but not unbearable. I heard Dr. Factor count the stitches he put in. When I came back to get my stitches out, the tech took 1 out. He was surprised at there being only 1 stitch. I said I thought there were more. I told this to Dr. Factor as well when he came in, but he looked at it and said it everything looked good. A couple weeks after that, my gum ached and bled and there was a stench when I flossed. I went back in. Dr. Factor found 2-3 more stitches that were hidden between the teeth and said that was the cause of the stinkiness. I do think that could have been addressed when I brought it up before-- he could have looked for the other stitches, and then I would not have had so much discomfort. Then, further along in my healing, I noticed a hard white bump protruding out of the gum. I went back in to find out what it was. A lady from the front office accompanied me into the room. She might have been a tech or hygienist as well, but at the time, she was manning the front desk. She proceeded to interrogate me about what I saw in my mouth and gave me theories for what she thought it could be. She said it was probably because I was using too much salt in my recommended salt water rinse, indicating it was my doing. I found her questions to be intrusive and basically said I didn't want to talk to her about it and would wait for the doctor's medical opinion. I did not think she should be giving out medical advice or opinions and told Dr. Factor so when I saw him, but he seemed unconcerned. It turned out it was a piece of bone sticking out through the gum, and he said it was normal and would fall off. He then scraped at it and sure enough some of it fell off. I asked him if I using too much salt in my salt water rinse and he said nope. Our insurance paid out within a month, so we got about $281 refunded. I didn't like this aspect as they take your money right away, but when it comes to getting your refund, you have to wait for their accountant to go to work and then for them to square the books and send you a check. At other doctor's offices they cut me a check or refunded my credit card right away. Just something to keep in mind. read more

This office is terrible-- some of the front desk staff is rude and impatient, but more importantly the dental technicians and Dr. Factor are incompetent. They failed to do what should have been a fairly painless wisdom touch extraction with enough anesthesia and from the lobby I could hear my child screaming, and instead of stopping and giving her more numbing meds, they continued without any consideration for the patient. I will never forget that awful experience and unfortunately neither will my kid. Furthermore, I felt like they were insensitive to anyone from marginalized communities if you catch my drift! I have had the best experience with Dr. Factor and his staff. I needed a gum graft after straightening my teeth, and with Dr. Factor, the procedure and healing have been a breeze. Today was my second gum graft with Dr. Factor, and just like the first time, he performed the procedure expertly and confidently, the cast stayed on, and I am in no pain. I brought in my 89 year old mother based on the recommendation of our local dentist, Jay Thompson. From the first phone call through the post op visits, we were treated with care and compassion. Dr. Factor tried to save a particular tooth where a bridge used to attach, but the tooth was just hanging on by a thread. The tooth was extracted, and a dental implant was placed at the same appointment. Minimal post op pain, no swelling or visible bruising. Tylenol alone was sufficient and only needed for a couple days. I was very pleased with the thorough explanation by Dr. Factor and his staff throughout the process. I would give them my highest recommendation. The office is spotless, modern, all of the COVID-19 precautions are being observed. I've been going here for over 10 years since about 2008. I had some gum issues and so to prevent things from getting worse I was referred here and they spend longer than normal to really work at the gum line I'm happy with the time that usually about 45 minutes and the chair and they do a very thorough job. Of course you have to keep your teeth in good shape between visits. I like the new location on Alvarado Road it's much more convenient than the old location. read more

Dr. Factor did some very complicated work on my mouth about 15 years ago. He was so supportive, encouraging, and made me feel at ease. I was sedated and although went through a lot of pain afterward, he was the best. I would highly recommend this man! I would definitely return if I needed that type of procedure. I have been seeing Dr. Factor since he has been in business at this location, the dentist previously was Dr. Silverstein, all together I have been seeing them for 18 years. I had periodontal surgery with Dr. Silverstein and the operation removed the periodontal disease, I maintain cleaning with them every three months to be sure I am on track with my teeth. I am very pleased with their service and everyone in the office is so nice. Recently I went in because of tooth pain in a tooth with an old root canal and instead of going right to an implant Dr. Factor referred me to an endodontist to see if all I needed was a repair on my on my root canal. It's been almost six months now and Dr. Factor seems to have done an excellent job on my gums. At least my mouth no longer bleeds when I brush my teeth. Perhaps I should add that after I was operated on my girl friend started grilling him about how I was doing and I think Dr. Factor was a bit taken aback and perhaps not appreciating her driving approach. (She can be aggressive on occasion, but wouldn't you want your significant other to be that way if you were under the knife?)
