My son tripped and damaged his two from teeth as a baby. After a few horrible experiences with a not-so-Super Dentist chain, I felt hopeless in getting regular check-ups for him. A few days ago I noticed a bump in his gums above one of his damaged teeth. After a quick web search I saw it was likely an abscess and would probably need to be pulled. I was overcome with tears and anxiety--not knowing who I could go to. A friend takes her 3 children to Dr. Kubina and speaks so wonderfully of him, so we decided to turn to him. Though we were new patients with no history, he made a same day appointment with us. After an x-ray, he was able to identify the problem, explained it to me, discussed options and calmed my fears. He spoke to my hesitant and shy son very kindly and was patient with him. I decided that pulling the tooth made the most sense. It did not take long and my son did not shed a single tear. After the appointment, he was happy and excited to have a tooth to put under his pillow. Dr. K's assistant was equally friendly and amazing! I've now been to Dr. Kubina's office for an evaluation, 2 routine cleanings and 1 procedure and really love everything about the office. Dr. Kubina was a recommendation from a friend and he hasn't disappointed. Everyone in the office is very friendly, very helpful, and is genuinely nice. My evaluation and both of my cleanings started exactly on time. The procedure started about 10 minutes late, but in that time 4 members of the staff, including Dr. Kubina, came to the waiting room to apologize for the delay. Everyone seemed to feel very badly about making me wait even though the delay was far less than what seems to be the norm at other doctor's offices. The evaluation was everything that I hoped it would be. Dr. Kubina was friendly, took plenty of time to get to know me and as much time as needed to ensure that all of my questions were answered, and gave his opinions and recommendations when needed while making it clear that they were exactly that and that I was perfectly free to opt not to follow them. I felt no pressure whatsoever and was put very much at ease. Both cleanings were quick, friendly and uneventful, and the procedure went exceptionally well, exceeding even my highest expectations. I'm not easy to please but Dr. Kubina's office has done so and then some. As long as I'm in San Diego and Dr. Kubina is practicing, he'll be my choice for a dentist. read more

Dr. Kubina is a fantastic dentist. I have been to his office about 5 times and he has been awesome every time. I had x-rays, cleanings, and 4 cavities filled. He is ALWAYS on time which is very important to me and his staff is so friendly and efficient. They greet me by name and ask about my new son. I feel very comfortable there and I really appreciate how nice they all are. Having cavities filled is never fun, but Dr. Kubina is fast and gentle. He did a great job numbing me (I felt a small prick but it was not nearly as bad as I've has at other dentists) and he worked quickly. I didn't feel anything while he worked and didn't have any pain or irritations went I went home. He took care to match the color of my teeth and made sure I was doing OK throughout the procedure. I give this office two thumbs up and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new dentist. read more

What a great find. The entire staff was extremely welcoming, professional, and friendly. The exam Dr. Kubina provided was comprehensive, thorough, and comfortable. Dr. Kubina took the time to explain the exam, results, and recommendations. The cleaning was excellent, I was very happy with the results and it was very painless. Also, they were very considerate with treatment and care given that I am pregnant and that was a bonus. Being a military spouse we have moved countless times and I have encountered many different kinds of dentists who have pressed unnecessary treatments, procedures, or even tacked on surprise bills at the end of treatment. This was not the case with Dr. Kubina. Dr. Kubina's office is straight forward, has the patient's best interest at heart, and overall is very caring. If you're looking for an honest dentist with quality of care in mind then I would recommend Dr. Kubina's office and staff. Very satisfied and the office indeed deserves a "Woohoo! Dr. Craig Kubina, the super dentist, absolute cordial and professional in ways that you forget that you're with a dentist getting your teeth worked on...where it can be very discomforting but not here.., not with Dr.Kubina DDS!! My wife had several visits with him; extensive work done to her several over due teeth which were giving her horrific problems for years and no dentist could help. But we were told he is one of the best; a true dental artist with great work ethics and great attitude. After a few visit to get every single one of problem teeth fixed, my wife has never been more at the height of comfort, no pain, no numbness, just all better she can actually chew and eat and drink. And one more important thing is that he is not the type that will tell you you need this done and you need that done just to make extra bucks off of you. He is honest and fair. Dr Kubina and all of the support staff in the office are exceptional. I always feel that they are interested and genuinely care about their patients. I have had veneers, fillings, and a root canal done, as well as uneventful cleanings. In all cases the work was done in a way that made me feel confident and comfortable. Everything was explained in advance. I think Dr Kubina is great. I guess the thing that really convinced me was when I was in great pain and Dr. Kubina agreed to come in to the office for me even though it was over Memorial Day weekend. I have been going to this office since I was a kid. Wendy (the receptionist) has watched me grow up back when when the office was formerly Dr. Wecklerly's and before her Dr. Bliss. Simply the best. Dr. Kubina and his staff have taken care of my family for many years. He's cared for my elderly parents as well as my husband and myself. He's cared for our two children since they were in junior high, and they're in their 20s today. He's extremely knowledgeable about dentistry and only recommends what is absolutely necessary. Yes, my friends, there is a Santa Claus. And there are still good, honest, caring dentists out there. Craig Kubina is one of them. Because of the substandard care that I'd received elsewhere (don't get me started), I had to have a number of crowns replaced. Nobody likes that. But Kubina has made it as tolerable as possible. I can tell that he actually cares. With some dentists you can tell that they're burned out on caring about what the patient feels, and they just want to get the work done. Kubina still cares. He cares about the quality of his work, and he cares about my comfort. I have TMJ and he actually massaged the joint of my jaw twice during treatment, just to make me more comfortable. Nuff said. I'm glad I'm older than he is, because he mustn't retire before I die. No one else will ever work on my teeth again. read more

As far as I am concerned, I have found the best dentist and dental office in the world and I will never go any where else. Any time I deal with Dr. Kubina or his office, I feel like I am being treated like a family member. I am a big baby and have never liked going to the dentist but now, I don't mind. They are all so friendly and make me feel so comfortable. Dr. Kubina walks you through his process and tells you what he is doing as he goes. He is great with the needle as I have never even felt a shot! He always has a big reassuring smile and always makes me feel like he will take good care of me. After reading Dr. Kubina's reviews, I felt it was worth a try. Wendy, the office manager was friendly and professional. She made me feel like I'd been coming to the office for years. I was dreading getting my cleaning that day until Yvonne, the dental hygienist, made me feel at ease. Now when I tell you it was the best teeth cleaning I've ever gotten, I am not lying. With a gentle but effective touch, Yvonne proceeded to clean my teeth better than they've ever been cleaned before. Finally, I met with Dr. Kubina and his assistant Jennifer. Jennifer promptly sat me in the adjacent room and with a friendly smile, then notified me the Dr. would be right in. After Dr. Kubina introduced himself, we had a pleasant discussion about my dental history, some of his concerns, and some ways I could help with my own dental care.
