The space is cool, clean and inviting, and the phrase "eye candy" is absolutely pun intended. Every piece of luscious chocolate is beautifully molded and brilliantly decorated. There's an extensive range of flavors from predictable (caramel) to super creative (wasabi ganache). There are a couple of tiny tables if you want to sit and wait for a friend. The chocolates are exquisite and worth checking out, but hurry! The shop will permanently close on Saturday, 9/13/25. I'll be making my final visit this week. Really cool, small boutique chocolate shop that I've been wanting to check out for some time now. I finally got the chance to do so today when I bought a sampler box as a Christmas present for a good friend of mine. I initially told the girl behind the counter to pick out the chocolates for me, but ended up picking them myself because she hesitated. I'm guessing there aren't a lot of customers who ask that of the workers. I didn't mind. I had to buy some of the bark for myself. It looked too tempting to pass up. I really liked the design of the box and even the little carrying case that came with the box. One of these days, I'll have to try the chocolates for myself. This place seems really cool. read more

How lucky were we at camp to try some of these delightful Artisan bites! A friend brought a box of 9 pieces, a variety and a bag of dark chocolate, orange bark. The piece I had at camp was the strawberry and Mexican Hot Chocolate. Well, on my way home from the campgrounds I had to stop by the store. This will make a perfect, tasty gift for my sister that watched the grandkids while I went camping. I purchased a 4pc (she's watching what she's consuming) and for myself I got a bag of the dark chocolate honeycomb bark. The choice I selected for the 4 pc were, Lemon, Mexican Hot Chocolate Strawberry and the Vanilla Bean. I would love to pair these chocolates with some port and sweet wine. Then I saw they could be paired with Mead, wait, whaat?! Iris Delights has a quite a selection. These artisan chocolates would make for great gifts! Reporting in again after a year....and Iris continues to amaze me with her fabulous flavors! This year my obsession is her chocolate covered mangos. Bought a few bags and handed them out on a flight to Hawaii to the attendants to enjoy and by the end of the flight we had every single attendant thanking us! Finally stopped in here a couple of weeks ago after passing by it many times. No chocolate samples, but I did get to sample a bit of the Kahlua cream ganache in one of the truffles which was so yummy. I got a box of 9 truffles (I Kahlua cream, passion fruit, miso caramel, Mexican hot chocolate, and hazelnut crunch). All of them were fantastic, but my favorite was the miso caramel because it was so unique. It is pricy but given that all of them are handmade, it's reasonable to pay for the love and care that goes into each one. We love great chocolate. Living near Belgium for a decade taught us to appreciate excellent chocolate. We saw the review in the newspaper, and tried them out. Iris welcomed us and gave us a taste of chocolate genache that was balanced and a wonderful texture. We bought a large box to share at Christmas with our family. Well... The chocolates are beautiful, with transfer colors and patterns. The chocolate exterior is shiny, flavorful and snaps when you bite into it. But the inside wins top honors. We tried the candy cane ones, and they were so wonderful. The interior was beautifully creamy and minty at just the right level. The Mexican Chocolate was spicy and just the right level of cinnamon. The marzipan was creamy and spoke of almond. The fruit flavors were bold and fresh. Dear God. Is chocolate this good actually legal? Shouldn't it be some kind of controlled substance you have to get government ID's for? Until it is, I'm going to be eating as much of it as I can! I was lucky to run into one of Iris Delight's table events and fell head-over-heels for the dark chocolate with salted rosemary caramel. I had one free sample and was hooked. Since then I've enjoyed the mead-infused chocolates (the habanero mead infused dark chocolate truffle was my favorite) and the recent cider pairing collaboration with Newtopia. I'm not a fruit-chocolate person but the strawberry dark chocolate ganache has made a believer out of me. My fella, who can be pretty blase about foodie stuff, made the square-inch chocolate-covered peanut butter brownie-bite last a full five minutes. For a full hour afterwards, he would bring up that single piece of chocolate--"God that chocolate was good,""Holy f&*$ing %$#! that chocolate was good," and even, "I can't believe I'm still thinking about that chocolate." The company offers a monthly subscription box as well as text notifications for what chocolates are available which I HIGHLY recommend signing up for. It's like getting little chocolate love notes! Every batch I've gotten so far has been outstanding, and even flavors I was a little wary of turned out to be sensational. My Wife stopped in yesterday, was the 1st time she was able to get there during operating hours. She had a nice visit and came away with some great treats, 4 chocolates and a bag of dark chocolate orange peel bark (will get to that). Of the 4 assorted chocolates, our favotites were the Passion Fruit and the latte. The peanut butter and the marzipan were good but did not stand out like the others. I do not like cold chocolate, but felt these could use a little time in the fridge to cool off, maybe it was just hot though. Will have to get more and test! About the Dark Chocolate Orange Peel Bark. It was amazing. Just really really good. And if you have a splash of Elijah Craig small batch? Even better, great pairing! Will be back again soon I hope. I was getting coffee at Industrial Grind Coffee and happened to park in front of this Iris Delights. The catchy decor caught my eye and I decided to go in. I was extremely delighted to learn EVERYTHING in the shops is gluten free and they have a couple vegan options as well. I love chocolate and a severe gluten intolerance so finding this place was meant to be. The owner has a gluten intolerance and the staff was very knowledgable about any other allergens. The chocolate is neatly presented in a case where all the ingredients are clearly marked. The designs are stunning and the taste is by far the best I've had in San Diego. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the chocolate. I ordered some right away for my mother who has celiac and lives in Colorado. Iris contacted me directly and answered my questions about shipping. She even gave me some recommendations for other gluten free bakeries! My mother was astonished at the design and taste of the chocolates and loved being able to enjoy them, without the concern of being glutened.
