Where to begin... Booked our 22 anniversary there scheduled to arrive 8/28/25. The room according to the website is available at 4pm, which I have never heard of this late a check in time, but my wife had stayed there in the past and wanted to go. So, I call about 2:30 to see if we can check in, "nope, it is still being cleaned." OK, we stall until 4. 1. 4:17 after waiting 17 minutes on other guest and try and check in and the room is still not ready. 2. 4:35 "oops, the room is not unclean it is double booked. "no problem we will find you something even if we have to upgrade." 3. 4:50 here is an upgraded room w/ a fireplace, it is supposed to not be pet friendly but we will make it work. We set off to the new room, unpack out things, climb to the second floor only to discover the room has one bed instead of 2. 4. 4:55, go back, wait in line and inform them it won't work while my family is waiting in the parking lot w/ all our stuff. While I was standing in line 4 other people in front of me are there for various complaints, key card won't work, double booked and someone is in the room, 1 bed instead of 2, gal allergic to dogs in put in a pet room, etc. 5. 5:30 they have scrambled and talked to various employees trying to find a room, the check in employee is not from there and not familiar w/ the rooms. 6. 5:40 the new employee discovers the room building we were originally booked to move in has several rooms open which she could have given me at 4:17, but she didn't know the layout. 7. While I am waiting, she offers me the free breakfast, "Great what is it?" " I don't know she states. "Is the spa up and running I ask." "No that is not working." Later the staff told me the spa hasn't been opened in months and corporate won't change the website. 8. 5:50 we move all our stuff from the one originally given to our new room. We finally get in the room at 6pm. 9. The room... Have to give kudos where they are due in order for it to be a good review. Spacious, nice new mirrors, vanity/sink area is large and the bathroom is nice but it ends there. 10. 6pm we finally settle in the room. We find the pillows are only 1.5-2" thick, wrap 4 layers of cardboard in a towel and you get the idea. so my wife sends my son off to the original room to find the personal pillow they had left behind. He found the gal who was allergic to pets in the same room we had already brought our pet into. 11. Towels are so thin and dingy they are identical to what I use in my shop as rags. Coffee pot doesn't work. Toilets flush, but you need to hold down on them for 30 seconds and you have a 50/50 chance of it flushing completely. Minimal but a bed reading light is out. So much for first impressions. 12. The heat was stuck at 78d all night and we couldn't lower it, sweated all night until maint, found it didn't work in the am. Only thing to do was to turn it off. 13. The "Ocean View" is looking over a parking lot, then a large area of a broken down, beat up building that looks like it should be destroyed which is the spa area. The spa area about 30' long and 12' high making the primary view below the ocean. You can see the ocean over the top of it, not bad view but completely disrupted by the decrepit spa building. Maintenance told us of the 3 spas there, all had broken at various times in the past and none were working but the corporation owning the hotel wouldn't spend any money on it. 14. They have a balconies including chairs and a table but are so narrow if you sit in the chair anyone passing has to turn sideways or the person in the chair has to turn their legs like in a movie theater. Not as bad, but close. If someone is carrying luggage, forget it, the sitting person has to stand up. 15. 8 am. The maintenance crew start work on the floor above us, so much for sleeping in 16. Midday, we have to move our cars in the parking lot as they are spray painting. 17. Every guest I talked to there had a complaint of one sort or another. The guest next to us had urine stained carpet that smelled of urine. 18. I complained to the manager the next day and she was very nice, patient etc. citing new employees as the challenge. She even comped me a room for one night. To be honest she was quite pleasant and apologetic about the whole affair. All the staff were really nice, but not one staff member had anything positive to say about the management of the hotel. The hotel has great potential. A great location, great access to the beach, the view of the spa building could be pleasant if it was kept up but not as is. The breakfasts were biscuits and gravy, next day eggs and potatoes. Pretty good for a smaller hotel, unfortunatley they ran out by 9am. Can't change the balconies but buy some pillows and towels, clean the rooms, fix the spa, prepare enough breakfast for what you have booked and hire someone who knows how to book and is familiar w/ the hotel. Paint on the outside wouldn't hurt either. It is not nice or pretty. read more

I will definitely plan on a return trip! This property is located off of Highway 101 and next to the Pacific Ocean. It is far enough off the street that you hear no traffic noise, only the surf pounding nearby. The units consist of some cabins, duplexes, and some motel type units. The grounds are immaculate with the gardens carefully maintained. Check-in is one building to the north of this complex since it was purchased by them in 2023. You can't go wrong with this wonderful property! read more

The room was beautiful! Overall the property is gorgeous. There is some pretty serious deferred maintenance. The stairs leading up to the room are tilting and look like they are getting ready to collapse. Hopefully their buildings are safe. I got nervous every time I had to climb the stairs or use my balcony. read more

We also didn't have heat and we. Allen the desk twice and they don't know where the maintenance person is. The place is old and run down and Filthy! Oh, the ice machines weren't working either. We've stayed here before and it wasn't too bad, never again. read more

We have stayed at this lodge off and on for 20 yrs. We loved its rustic feel, their hot tubs overlooking the ocean and pleasant gardens. This check in I was told only 2 of the 4 hot tubs were working. I asked for an extra pillow and was told it was against policy to provide an extra pillow. Ok. Now in room, NO toilet paper or tissues. The screen door was ripped and taped with masking tape. NONE of the hot tubs were working. Worst part, the bed smelled. The sheets seemed clean but the comforter smelled. I was sorry that a favorite place has gone so downhill. That's it for us. read more

We rolled in here after a day of driving with no expectations. We stayed in one of the beach suites (The Monterey). The bed was crazy comfy, the view of the ocean soooo good, and best of all, our beach cabin suite had a big wood burning stone fireplace with a large mantle. The glow and warmth of the firelight on the vaulted plank wood ceiling made it so cozy. Was it a little dusty? Yes, and my partner and I didn't mind one bit, for the charm and the location as well as the value made this our fave lodging in our week-long travels along the coast. We slept with the slider slightly open so we could hear the ocean. Comfy bed, wood burning fireplace, ocean view... and affordable. We would stay here again ! read more

We were passing through on our drive to Bandon and got stuck in traffic due to a fallen tree. There was no ETA on when the road would open up again so after waiting 2.5 hours in our car in the cold at night we decided to turn back to Gold Beach to eat and stay. I searched online and this was one of the few places open and pet friendly. We had our two dogs so we needed a pet friendly hotel. The person at the checking answered the phone and was very helpful, told us to head on over. We got a room near the beach on the ground level. The room was dated, smelled a bit, but it was clean (except the carpets) and worked out for us to spend the night while the road opened up and we could continue North. We parked close to our room and it was convenient to get in and out of our room during our short stay. This hotel is super quiet. The service was great and we are grateful for their hospitality. read more

This is so heartbreaking for me to write. My family has been coming here since I was a child. I brought 2 of my children and 7 of my grandkids to stay here while we were here for my mom's celebration of life. We drove 9 hours and got here after 4pm. We were told our rooms were not yet ready and probably wouldn't be until 5 or 530pm. They were ready at 515pm. When I went to do my check in, I asked about the hot tubs and was told that they were closed due to COVID. Why are they still being advertised? Also no breakfast, also not disclosed when I made my reservations more than 6 weeks ago. The clerk took approx $15 per room per night for this inconvenience. Upon going in to the entrance, I noticed that the grounds which used to be so very beautiful and well manicured, were now overgrown and disheveled. As a gardner and avid plant lover, this broke my heart. We go to our rooms and were just let down. They say they are renovated, but not a lot done to make me say wow. There were no fans, and no AC. When I asked about fans the next day, I was told that before COVID, all the rooms had fans. During COVID, the hotel was bring renovated and the workers were staying in the rooms. Now they only had about 10 fans and all were in use. So we bought our own. The patio off of our room has grass growing over on to it from the meadow. Cant get WIFI to work out in that area of rooms. The hangers that used to be in the rooms were thrown over the cement wall that lines the walkway to our room. I picked them up and threw them in our trash. The alarm clock that used to be in the room was found thrown over our balcony, into the grassy area. The stairwell to our room has lights that don't work and it's super dark. We asked to have them changed out, but 3 days later, nope, still dark. This is an extreme safety hazard. We had to use our cell phone flash lights just to light our walkway. If one of my children or grandchildren fall down them in the dark on our way back to our room, there will be someone paying us a lot of money. The room that I reserved on their website was the cute little cottages' near the entrance, we were told that these rooms "were not available" once we checked in. While staying here, we noticed what looked like employees to be staying (possibly living) in these cottages. Today my granddaughter spilled something on the bed and we needed new sheets. Since they arent doing any in room service, as long as you are there, we called and asked for new sheets. Nope, they dont have any, because they are short staffed and dont have anyone to wash them, but we could use king size. I had to go to get queen sized sheets from my moms house. As for the ocean front hot tubs, I walked by them today. The decks are falling apart they are overgrown by trees and look as if they havent been used in years. So, the fact that there is a big sign on the front of the Gold Beach Inn, which is also part of Ireland's Rustic Lodges, advertising oceanfront hot tubs is very misleading and false advertising, due to them being abandoned. The last time we stayed here, the hot tubs and the hot tub deck were absolutely gorgeous, now the hot tubs are empty, dirty, and have no use. It appears that they could not afford the upkeep of the ocean front hot tubes that they still are advertising. This place is advertised as world famous. We would never stay anywhere else in Gold Beach, but now we will no longer support owners who are running this beautiful property into the ground. Yes, they've been bought out folks. Obviously by people who do not care about legacy and tradition. They care about money is all. Not spending it to make improvements and not spending it by cutting corners. I will never stay here again, and hopefully this review turns people away. They only reason for 1 star, the view from the room. read more

I feel really bad leaving a crappy review as we've been coming to Ireland's since I was a kid and I have lots of good memories. I hadn't been here in probably 6 years and was disappointed to find our room run down, dirty, and populated by ants. What happened to you, Ireland's? This place is supposed to be rustic, not gross. The two worst things were the towels and the bathroom walls. The first towel I grabbed out of the bathroom had several long straight black hairs and a few ants on the outside of it. Whatever, I assumed someone on the cleaning crew has long straight black hair, and ants are a force of nature this time of year. But when I unfolded the towel, I found a few curly reddish-gray hairs and some darkly colored pet hairs, and the towel fibers had crunchy ridges. If that wasn't a USED towel, I'll be darned. I looked at every towel in the room (4-5 big towels, 4-5 hand towels, several washcloths) and they ALL had a variety of hairs, crunchy ridges, and/or orange stains. They didn't smell fresh either. The office was apologetic and quickly brought us a stack of new towels which (aside from some long straight black hairs) looked and smelled and felt clean. The bathroom walls were streaked with orange stains. When we took showers, orange drops oozed down the walls. The random band-aid adhered to the shower wall rounded out my confidence in the cleanliness. Well, that and all the long straight black hairs on the bedding (which I pray was clean as the pillows didn't smell fresh). And the ants. Also, no TV remote. We asked the office about it and they gave us two TV remotes, neither of which worked. I reported my cleanliness concerns to the office when I checked out and the guy mentioned a partial refund, but I never got one. I waited nearly a month to write my review to ensure there was plenty of processing time. Leaving 2 stars instead of 1 as the grounds are pretty, the desk staff were nice, and the room was passable enough for us to stay a second night. However, I probably will never come back. read more

Thought we were booking a beautiful lodge as pictured on the website, instead we got the crap hole you see pictured. We called with a particular Ireland's Rustic cabin in mind, and they insisted on us booking this other "beautiful rustic beach house". Even when we checked in they were trying to act like we had chosen a great place. Then, after we had seen the place the lady couldn't even look us in the eye. It's a crap hole with broken things, 20 year old spring mattresses, and a view of the parking lot. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND not staying here. This place is garbage, the whole property which includes Gold Beach Inn. We came here for my birthday, and we are so disappointed. Happy birthday to me! read more

Don't waste you time or money $$ this place needs to be shut down by health department. The "cottage/cabin" smelled like urine and mold! The ceiling and walls have visible water damage seeping through the paint, carpet is stained and moist, and the gutters are hanging off the structure... our bathtub had dirt streaks all along it and there was no soap to wash your hands in either bathroom! I am so glad we brought our own pillows because the ones on the bed were old yellow and stained! This place was rank. If we hadn't paid in advance we would have left right away.... read more

Recently we were excited about visiting Gold Beach, Ore. This town has been a favorite in the past. However, how Extremely disappointed we were with lodging. Our registration was incorrect, no discount was given at registration, and the staff was Very disorganized. Upon entering our room, we found trash or pillow stuffing located around the bed. With a stained comforter, which we removed. The Rustic Lodges ( cabins), which we have occupied since the early 1990's.are in desperate need of repair. Roof's, banisters, and stairwells need or replaced. The closest ice machine was broken. Guests were experiencing clogged pipes. Sadly, since the larger commercial lodging corporation acquired this once beautiful historical cabins, they appear deteriorating. read more

This is a cool place, old fashioned & genuinely rustic, on a beautiful, large piece of land (short trail to a great beach included). The grounds are well-kept, the room I stayed in had real wood walls, a cast-iron firebox, & a high, beamed ceiling. There were downsides: odd layout, small bathroom, old carpet, noise from rooms upstairs & next door (thin walls). Still, comfortable accommodations - open & roomy with a patio & perfect ocean view. The reason for the lower rating has been raised in other reviews: the stink. It's mildew - having traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest, I realize it's an almost unavoidable problem, especially in older structures, but wow - this was bad, especially after sundown; it was also centered around the (comfortable) bed. I started sneezing regularly on day two here, so the allergy-prone should steer clear. The owners should really invest in alleviating this, it rendered an otherwise great place kinda nasty.... read more

Ugh.... ick....gross ! Definitely not what we expected from the website or the reviews. When I reserved the room the manager said this was his favorite room !! Peeeee Yew. Apparently in Gold Beach another word for condemned is Rustic. We had no alternative as we arrived late on Labor Day weekend after a long day on the road. Open the door and holy crap .... when was last time time you had a giant bowl of Whiff brand Chile it was that musty and dirty - the carpet was absolutely disgusting. All I can say is we slept on top of the bed and used the toilet and sink in the bathroom - did not let our bare feet touch the floor. Short walk to a beautiful beach in the morning to revitalize our clean oxygen intake - met some nice folks along the way. Best thing about this place.... we left. read more

The only place we will stay in Gold Beach! We have been here numerous times over a 20+ year span-- and we always get so excited to return! Cozy, comfortable-- unparalleled views of the ocean. It's rustic, which we love--so much character and personality. They have recently updated the bedding-- and it has a modern feel. Very nice. The best part is chilling on the recliner, with the electric fireplace on and the sliding glass door open to hear the waves. Truly relaxing and great way to push the reset button! If you are expecting a chain hotel, this is not for you. It's not fancy, it's rustic. And charming. And refreshing. I only wish there was a remote control for the fireplace. It turns off after 15 minutes. I understand it from a safety perspective, but it's a pain to get up every 15 min to restart it. A remote control would make it perfect! We adore Ireland's!!! Stay away! Bloody mattresses, spiders, dirty bathrooms walls (and all walls), dirty towels. Truly disgusting! Ancient kitchen, carpet, and furnishings. I had to wash every mug we took out of the cabinet because they were all dirty. Unfriendly front desk. Downstairs shower was very hard to turn off. I don't think the walls in the bathroom (especially around the toilet) have ever been cleaned. I'm just happy we didn't get bed bugs! Thank goodness it was only one night. Dirty old drapes literally hanging down onto the pillows of the two beds at top of stairs. The hot tub area was very nice and the locations was great. Nice view of the ocean We had the largest cabin available with the 4 bedrooms/7 beds/2 bathrooms. Nice continental breakfast. Nice back deck with table. In our personal circle of friends, this is a destination spot for many. I personally had the chance to stay here while on business. I LOVE it. Will be back for sure this Summer! Go to Motel 6 you'll at least receive a respectful and WELCOME stay. It's very evident by the staff (front desk) this place is ready to go out of business. A mere phone call that I had to make 2 of and was hung up on both times for simply asking for the internet price booking on the phone vs computer. We have family that is very well-connected in the area whom we were receiving a local discount. This guy wanted to argue with me that they've never done that in the five years he's worked there. I guess guests are also either liars or have memory issues right? Well buddy, you just lost 12 years of business that was going to continue. Our family has traditions and thanks for screwing that up. I don't know what people here are complaining about unless they're being paid to complain. We've been coming here for maybe 20 years, and make a point to stay here whenever we're on the Oregon Coast. Where else can you get - private porches overlooking the ocean - fully stocked fireplaces in almost every room (newspaper, kindling, matches and plenty of wood) - 3 hot tubs on the beach!!?? - lovely landscaping - a free breakfast that's actually worth eating And all for about 1/2 of what you may for most places on the coast. World famous rustic lodges. Ummm "Rustic" is an understatment. More like rundown and super dirty. I don't mind the "rustic" feel to the place, but dirty and worn out is kinda bad. Maybe the cabins are nice, but my room in the Sea Garden building was really in bad shape. They put me in a non-smoking room with a kitchenette. The recliners were so dirty and stinky I put a towel over them just to sit down. I noticed a cigerette burn mark in of the chairs, so obviously someone smoked in this room. The small refrigerator was sticky with yellow goo. NO questions asked. The top of the oven wasn't cleaned. Food still stuck to the floor...and the list goes on. Seriously people? Come on. Take some pride in being local. Maybe I should hire myself out to be a motel/hotel inspector for clean rooms. I used to to be a house keeper for a Comfort Inn and a Holiday Inn. We had room inspections everyday. We deep cleaned. Anyway....I'll stop gripping. So I stayed in that room one night and asked to be moved to another room since the smoke smell was pretty strong. The front desk guy wasn't in the best mood, but he did give me a different room. I told him about the stinky chair with the burn mark on it and he just told me.."yeah, that chair has been there for years." Really? Gross. And no one has complained? So yeah, I was given a different room upstairs in the same Sea Garden building. It was a downgrade, but I was still ended up paying the same price as the other room. Sweet! I love paying more for less.(sarcasm) Well..at least it didn't smell of smoke. As for being cleah...hahahaha...yeah...right. The carpet was sticky and gross. There were tons of sunflower seed around and behind the dresser. Why? Maybe they hired a blind housekepper? If I have to stay in another motel/hotel in the area...I might as well just bring my own cleaning supplies and vucume cleaner with me. Ughh. This place does have so much potential. Whoever does the landscaping does a really good job. Cute gardens and walking paths that lead to the ocean. Now they just need to rip out some of that carpeting, replace those old stinky window curtains, remove those rotting reliners and sticky refrigerators. Get some new pillows and replace some of those old blankets on the bed. You can still have rustic, but make it a clean rustic. read more

I didn't stay here, but with the "customer service" I experienced I'm sure that I never will. I called to inquire about availability and the lady that answered the phone explained she could put me up in a two bed "with a bathroom". Like a bathroom is a bonus? When I asked about easy beach access, so we could come back from having a fire on the beach, she said fires were no longer allowed. ? Uh, ok. But when I walked through their property back to the place I actually stayed in, there were signs posted about beach fire rules, none of which indicated a fire wasn't allowed. Plus, I couldn't find any information online saying they were banned, so again--? When I said thank you, I'll let you know, she promptly hung up on me without a word. Gee, I guess I'll just settle for my regular place at half the rate you were asking. And guess what--it has a bathroom too! read more

We have enjoyed Irelands at Gold Beach 4 times over 10 years - it is consistently a beautiful oasis and a perfect getaway. Our experience has always been outstanding. Here are a few impressions of Pacific Breeze, the building we've always stayed in, as well as Irelands in general: Spectacular views Beautiful cedar paneled walls and ceiling Fine large rock fireplace with dry firewood and kindling provided Immaculately clean - with vacuum marks to prove it every day. Both the carpet and the mattress are in great condition Lovely porch with partial plexiglass roof and good wind shielding - get the best of sun and protection from the cold wind in the winter Extremely friendly and helpful staff Very good breakfast including hard boiled eggs, bagels, french toast, English muffins, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, and orange juice We look forward to keeping up the tradition of visits. Garbage. As I'm writing this, a metal spring is digging into my arm through the cardboard thin mattress pad. The bed is nothing more than two springs and half a moving box. We made reservations over a week in advance (but for some reason had to pay when we arrived like it's 1990) and were guaranteed a queen size bed. The bed turns out to be somewhere between a twin and a double. I don't care that the fridge has rust in it, that the water pressure is weird, or that the door locks stick. I know it's not going to be ritzy at the price we paid. But it's hotel management 101 to have a decent mattress. Unitl they get this squared away, steer clear. read more

We were staying in cabin #4 (The Pine) on 9/28/2021, paid $125 for 1 night. "Rustic" only goes so far... 1. disgusting carpet (in all fairness, this cabin was ok-ed for pets) 2. dusty and dirty 3. cigarette butt on the porch 4. we had the distinct feeling that this cabin had not been cleaned for a long time: dirty window sills, dirty windows (cobwebs everywhere), super dusty little side table etc. 5. curtains falling off the rails 6. super bad lighting (need flashlight to read) 7. garbage in the room garbage cans that was not ours, garbage in front of the fireplace that was not ours 8. bad quality towels, soaking wet after 1 body dry off.\ 9. NO WIFI, I phoned the desk and they could not do anything. Most definitely not worth while to go there anymore, place falling apart. We previously rented a cabin on the other side of the property and really liked that one. Stay away from cabins 1 through 5!!!! read more

we booked a condo and let me tell you guys.. just don't! let me start with the price.. $260 per night.. it's not bad when you need a place for 6-10 people to stay together.. the outside of the condo was covered in cig butts everything.. trash and soda cans all over the place.. walking into the corridor the stairs to the inside were so dirty that when stomping your foot a cloud of dust appears.. again trash up and down the stairs.. entering the condo you think it's cute.. and it really is.. but you find the frig doesn't work.. there is old butter in a dish from the last people.. the knobs are falling off the cabinets.. there is a roll of paper towels.. with 1 paper towel on it a pillow missing it's pillow case.. and the list goes on.: when I tried to complain to the guy at the front desk he hung up on me.. just think twice before you stay here!! read more

The cabin we had was very clean. Comfortable queen size bed, 2 recliner chairs and lots of lamps. View of beach was some what limited but enjoyable none the less. Came equipped with a coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator. Balcony was a little tight but there was 2 resin type chairs with a small table. I've a few other reviews (neg) of Ireland's and found that my experience has not been as bad as they claim. If I'm ever back in this area I will certainly stay here again. read more

This had to be the worst hotel stay I've ever had. Unfortunately. 10 year anniversary my young kids first trip to the beach, we asked for the dog room ended up not even bringing the dogs. The room smelt like they let about 50 wet dogs just run around all over did a fast vacuum job and called it good. They didn't even change the sheets before we went in because they had stains and dog hair ALL over them. My husband demanded new sheets for us to make the beds ourselves. The bathroom was so nasty the mat you lay in the tub was orange from not being cleaned properly. The tub had a constant leak the sink got clogged and never unclogged during our 3 night stay and the toilet barley flushed. The floor didn't even look clean and the baseboards and cupboards definitely need a good scrub. The floor in all the rooms is WAY uneven. The back porch railing is falling apart. Literally a lawsuit waiting to happen. I didn't even want my kids to go out there because the one corner isn't even attached anymore and its not just on the ground it's an above ground porch. The kitchen was a mess the dishes didn't look clean at all and there was other peoples left overs in the fridge. The place did not feel clean at all. I couldn't wait to get home to shower and feel clean. Pictures wouldn't have even done justice because just by looking at it real fast you don't see anything wrong. Its not until you walk in and you know, breathe that you get hit with the smell and the feel of the dirty floor the uneven flooring that shouldve been replaced YEARS ago. I just couldn't believe how they can leave a room like that. NOT covid sanitary AT ALL. If you are at all worried about covid, well just don't even go to any hotels really but this has got to be the worst. No way did they disinfect anything. I wish we could've stayed somewhere else but everything else from gold beach to crescent city was booked all weekend. We made the best of our stay and tried to be out as much as we could. If you are debating look else where. I'm sure there are A LOT nicer and definitely way cleaner places. I will never stay here again thats for sure! We arrived here on 7/10/2020 for a two night stay. The person that checked us in gave us the key and directions to the Nantucket. He said there was parking right in front. We found the Nantucket, but there were two cars parked there so we went back to the front office and he sent us back and had another employee meet us there to check the parking passes. This time I looked through the windows and told the other employee there were people inside. He was very surprised and called the front desk and they realized they sent us to the wrong lodge so we went back to the front desk a third time. Finally, we got the correct lodge, the Laguna....and just....gross. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with filthy dirty carpet that the tacking strip is showing through. The two chairs are grimy, you can literally feel the filth on them. You can't walk around barefoot nor sit on the furniture, we covered it in sheets. The dishes in the cupboards were dirty. The closet doors were falling off. The flooring in the kitchen was coming apart. The deck off the back door was coming apart at the corner leaving a very unsafe feeling. The chairs to the kitchen table felt like the legs would fall off at any moment. The curtains were falling off the rods. The plastic corner to one of the mattresses fell off while we were there. There would have been a beautiful view had the windows been clean. The second night I heard critters crawling in the walls, maybe rats. I've been coming here for several years and it's fun every time. The rooms are nice and cozy and it's walking distance to the beach. The only reason I gave it four stars is because they need to clean the rooms better. I don't want to see old cobwebs by the windows and dust on the fixtures. Otherwise, great. read more

We love it here! Other hotels don't come close in comparison. Here we have our own private lodge, wood burning fireplace, an ocean view out the front door, and from the spa can watch the sunset over the ocean. Honestly we couldn't ask for more (except maybe a stove?). The office lady is very friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. We switched lodges after a night from "The Fir" to "The Redwood" so we could have a bathtub but sacrificed the real fireplace for an electronic one. During our last stay we were in "The Pine" which had both a bathtub and the traditional fireplace. The pet fee is only $10 too. Both times we've stayed here it was off season so the price was extremely (surprisingly) affordable. They have our business for life! Oh, and we highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat and a microbrew at Barnacle Bistro down the street! Yum!! read more

This is my favorite hotel in Gold Beach! It has Rustic charm and beautiful views ! A fantastic way to un-plug and recharge! The hot tubs are amazing ! Only suggestion is trimming trees and shrubs not front of the hot tubs ... could see the ocean a little better. Some of the best sunset watching from my cabin or lawn across from it. Friendly staff.. super clean again only suggestion would be to update like shower head ... but really only two suggestions everything else was a dream! So grateful for wood burning fire place to warm up next to at night! They supplied us with wood everyday!! To start, we needed an affordable place for one night and that is what this was. Pros: friendly staff at check in, they gave you a couple of chocolate snacks as a welcome gift. The price was reasonable for the coast. Our room was relatively quiet, I felt like the floors were very sturdy we were on the top floor and I did not hear the floors beneath our feet Creak at all. I could not hear the people below us or across from us, and even though we were by the street I didn't hear any traffic noise. I need a very soft bed because of fibromyalgia so I travel with a gel foam topper just in case, but I did not need that for the bed because it was very soft so if you need a firm bed this would not work for you. Cons: Room 27 Was in sore need of a serious update, The stairs that lead to the room were carpeted and seriously stained especially right outside the front door they were pretty gross looking but then again that was outside, however the carpets inside may have been clean but you could not tell because they were so stained also, I could see vacuum marks where they have been vacuumed, but the carpets were so old that we made sure to keep our shoes on at all times, the same thing went for the furnishings, there were two recliners to sit in which was nice to watch TV but they were very old and I would not trust putting my head up against them, you could tell they needed cleaning also or simply replaced because one was broken And would not recline all the way and you had to get up and mess with the wooden handle to get it to go back down again. There was a bay window but I didn't want to sit on it because the cushion was also stained just made you feel like you should not trust it, I think all these things when they get so old become so contaminated they really should be all replaced. Their curtains didn't work properly and you could not get them to shut all the way I had to use one of my barrettes to close it so that we would have privacy. I saw other reviews that mentioned the same things and they were discounted by the owner so I took pictures so that maybe the owner can see that this is not a false review. They should know that at a certain point things must be replaced if you were going to have a sanitary environment, you could never let a baby crawl on the floor or children nor walk barefoot in that room, it is my understanding that some of the rooms have been completely redone, so hopefully this room will be next on the list. read more

This place is disgusting, filthy, out of date, and falsely advertised, and also filthy. Our booking was for Gold Beach Inn. When we got there, we were sent next door to another of the owner's properties, Ireland's Rustic Lodges. We have the Redwood Cabin. I highly recommend you sleep somewhere else. Did I mention it was disgusting? My husband can't stand up in the bathroom without scraping his head on the lighting fixture. The carpet and mattress and chairs stink; when we entered the room, all the windows were open (only one had a screen). The bed is way too smelly, saggy, and soft to sleep in. Light is dim and dingy, ceilings are low. No maid service available. Boy are we sorry. We're trying to decide whether to put our camping mattress on the grody floor or just bail and sleep in the car. read more

Good innkeepers have taken over this property and built more rooms. No more direct walk from the old cottages. But the view was amazing from our oceanside room - large and clean - private deck. The refridgerator was a joke (not even big enough for a bottle of wine not to come tumbling out when opened) and the exterior of the buildings need some work. We have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed our stay. This time, we were soo disappointed. The room #23 was partially clean. The fireplace and hearth had not been cleaned for a while. Soot and wood shavings everywhere. The sliding glass doors are filthy. We asked the young lady at the desk for window cleaner because housekeeping was not available to clean. They charge for firewood now, that's new. There is no remote for the TV. The front desk gave us one and said it would program itself once turned on. "NOPE" we are soo disappointed. Yes, they are rustic. We stayed in the Sequoia. It was clean, there was a view of the ocean from our cabin. The bed was so comfy. The best on our road trip by far. The internet isn't great, but I'd that why you come to the beach? Probably not. For 118.00 a night, I'd stay again and I am pretty picky. read more
