Great people and great place. You can walk to the beach without crossing any traffic and a lot of the sites have hot tubs for your private use. We picked one with a hot tub and enjoyed sitting in it under the stars. The sites are large, have full hookups and a nice fire ring for sitting around and enjoying a fire at night.

    Campsite and our dogs!

What an AMAZING stay we had, busy weekend and we were tent camping, got different spaces to choose from, found a choice spot.. Staff is on hand, friendly and helpful. Place is very clean reasonably priced and the amenities are well stocked across the board.

Road to site #95 and all sites in rear closest to ocean beach access. Rental cabins along right side of road and RV camp sites on left.

Campground over all was descent and Mexican restaurant on site had DELICIOUS food and friendly service but our site was horrible. We booked over the phone (instead of onsite) hoping we could make sure we got what we needed, however, that did not help. We were told site #95 was 47' and spacious enough for our rig and 8ft bed Ram 3500 dually, to park comfortably in front of the RV. We ended up having to CAREFULLY fit the truck 'next' to our rig in between 2 other trees. We were directed by the office to go in down their main road towards our site, one way, which ended up having a very low bearing untrimmed over-hanging bushy tree which our 36' ft / 13'6 high fifth wheel rubbed against. Needless to say there was another way to go in which would have avoided that, had we not listened to their directions! Our site also had huge trees everywhere and on each side of our spot as well as a rental cabin and another huge tree across the road from us so trying to back in and maneuver was BEYOND CHALLENGING!!! In fact, 3 different friendly neighbors came out to help us, agreeing they had no idea how the office could have even given us that spot. Luckily with the extra help, all 4 of us, plus my husband's patience, and many challenges, we finally got parked safely. All the trees also drastically affected our Starlink during our stay, and we had specifically explained (when booking), our work/starlink situation. It was a very busy packed holiday weekend also, and was 'extremely' noisy as they mix in tents and RV's instead of separating those areas. The main highway runs along that rear park area and the beach so the closer you are to the back, the highway noise is pretty bad even at night. We have a pretty solid rv and ran a fan in our bedroom for sound so other and to drown it out. On a positive note, the beach is within walking distance and the Mexican restaurant on site had DELICIOUS food and friendly service! We ate twice from there including take out. If they would pay better attention to where they place people and listen to their customers on needs and rig sizes, it may have been a better experience. They also need to keep tenting and rigs separate like other campgrounds do. We recommend when booking CALL and also ENSURE you park by the office and go WALK TO YOUR SPOT FIRST to make sure 'for yourself' best way to get to it, and into it. Don't follow an employees directions! Our bad!!!

    Rv space

Love this rv resort. We got the hot tub patio rv river front space. Everything was great. The hot tub was clean and hot. The space was clean. The park is clean and everyone was super friendly. The beach is close with a trail just under 101. Will definately return!

We absolutely loved our stay at Turtle Rock RV Resort. It was the perfect place to take our grandkids camping. We had a blast! Staff was VERY friendly! It gets pretty windy at the beach but still fun! Clean, quiet FUN

Hair that was under where you crawl in bed. What a nice surprise

We stayed here from June 28 through July 6th with my sister and her family who done the booking. We rented 2 cabins and the vacation rental house. What a disappointment. When we arrived we had noticed that the grass around the vacation house hadn't been mowed in a very long time. The back yard grass was knee high and the younger kids couldn't even play. One of the Cabin where my nephew was going to stay they moved the dresser to put in a pack and play for their baby and the outlet was smoking. We called immediately and they come and done a quick fix. The other cabin we had rented the toilet was just sitting on the floor and was not secured. We called and this issue was never fixed. You had to be careful when sitting down as it was very wobbly. The vacation house was disgustingly dirty. We addressed the issue and was told they were sorry. There was so much hair underneath a chair it looked like someone had brushed their dog and just brushed it under. The mats coming in the door was full of dog hair as well. The master bedroom shower looked like it hadn't been clean in a very long time. Pictures will show who gross it was. The floors in the corners looked like the cleaners literally just swept the dirt and hair into the corners. The decks and chairs with the hot tubs were not cleaned. some of the chairs were full of grease as they were near a BBQ. The BBQ grill was so gross we had to use foil as we couldn't even burn off the old stuff. We found dishes, silver ware and pans dirty in all of the drawers and cabinets. Do the cleaners not see There was sewer smell in the through the entire stay inside of the house and outside of the house. Especially if we were doing laundry. My sister went to the office and told them and she was told that someone would come and address it. Maintenance came out to address the issue but the gentleman didn't speak English and so she translated the best she could. Nothing happened as he just left and never returned. When you spend $9000.00 for 3 places with this resort you would expect that it would be cleaner, the grass mowed so the kids could play and the issues you shared with the office desk would be resolved. The Mexican restaurant on sight was good and most of the staff was pleasant and said hello when we seen them. But again, you would expect it would be cleaner, the issues to be resolved and at least if they couldn't a small refund made back to you for the inconvenience.

Great place. Staff is very knowledgeable of the area and friendly. I can't wait to come back. You have a path that takes you to the beach. Great food on the premises at Tortuga Mexican Restaurant.

    Micah enjoying some beach time.

The last time we stayed here was 15 years ago. We were in a cottage that was very nice and the other two families stayed in RV's. It was that first experience that brought us back when looking for a place to meet up with friends. Us in our RV and them in a cottage. Let's just say a lot can change in 15 years. They've added a lot more cottages so it feels over crowded. The cottage our friends had (51) is in bad need of repair, updating, and a deep clean. The recliner mechanism is broke on one of the rocker/recliners. The dinette table needs to be refinished as everything sticks to it. There is a furnace vent in middle of floor that get very hot and will burn feet or paws. Though there are beds for 5, there are only 2 deck chairs. I guess they expect you to drag some of the 4 dinette chairs back and forth. The small gas grill was very dirty. So, at $228 a night it's definitely over priced. Our RV site (50) was nice but trees and bushes are overgrown making rig positioning tricky in order to get slides out. The cable for TV was useless. No reception in RV and very poor reception in cottage. Park wifi was bad, fortunately for us this cottage did have it's own wifi router so that was positive. $68 per night is much too high for what you get. No stars removed for this, but to cap off everything else for the week, we had gail force winds (20-35 mph) on all but the first day. This meant beach time was out unless you wanted to get sand blasted. Disappointing for us and especially for the 4 Goldens. We won't be back.

    Gorgeous!

We have been here for 3 weeks and just right by the ocean and inside the park well kept and feels like right in a forest! Very happy here and very affordable!!!

They have really fixed the place up since we were there. They have added a wonderful porch that has a hot tub overlooking the river. (The river has even moved since then and is now right below the deck.) It's a great place to watch the seals, blue herons, egrets, osprey, and the sunrise over the distant hills. There is a wooden fence between each patio, so you have some privacy. Inside has been carefully remodeled to keep a cabin feel, but also give a touch of elegance. The woodwork and decor are both very nice and give the room a very cozy feeling, along with the nice gas fireplace in the livingroom area. The kitchen is simple, with a fridge and microwave, but no stove. There are a few plates, bowls, wine glasses, utensils, etc along with a small coffee pot, but the coffee given to use is just a tea bag coffee thing, so I'd recommend bringing your own. The bathroom is also well appointed with a comfortable shower, small shelf for your shaving kit, a hair dryer, etc. Overall, we were very happy to see our old apartment turned into such a wonderful, relaxing resort. I specifically booked this place for a jetted tub so was disappointed and on top of that the room was dirty. The hotel was able to move me to a room on the third floor. The room I first booked was a king bed with a "soaker" broke down jetted tub, room 501 which is also right next to the laundry room and on the bottom floor. Pictures show the gross marks and hair all over the lounger. My second room was 329 on the third floor with a king bed. The view was amazing and the location is steps away from the beach. The management needs to give more time to the cleaners and once a month they should lint roll the furniture and wipe off the marks. Also dusting is very much needed in the rooms. We usually visit the Northern Beach (Seaside) and enjoy it very much, but our visit to the South was extremely pleasant. We made reservations ahead of time at The Rogue River Landing in Gold Beach. We were greeted by the owners Bernard and Sahar Ortiz and their quiet but lovely daughter Alex. They treated us just like family and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant and most of all comfortable. They succeeded greatly at both. We stayed in the King of the Hill unit and our Grandkids stayed in the unit next to it. Talk about beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife. We woke up the first morning to four wild turkeys gobbling under our bedroom window. There were plenty of Eagles, Osprey and deer. Also some very friendly Blue Jays and one particularly friendly swallow that flew into our living room as we left the doors open to enjoy the cool breeze and fresh mountain/ocean air. The swallow was released without harm after a short photo session. The boys went out on the ocean and had a great time and caught some outstanding fish. We got a tour of how things are going and truthfully, this is going to be THE PLACE to eat in the area. Bernard is personally finishing the tops of the tables and they are gorgeous. The restaurant has views of the river that are breathtaking. We are contemplating returning for the restaurant opening so we are going to watch The Rogue River Landing website. (https://wwwrogueriverlanding.com) We took the advice of Bernard and Sahar to travel the thirty minutes to Brookings for more choice of food and shopping. Bernard passes his free time which I can see he doesn't have much of to handcraft knives. He has a great selection and they are for sale. He is friends with one of the knife makers on Forged in Fire and he produces quality knives. I highly recommend The Rogue River Landing for fishing, sightseeing or just sitting back and relaxing. The evenings were quiet, dark and very peaceful. I cannot overemphasize the great time we had and will most assuredly be returning. The room according to the website is available at 4pm, which I have never heard of this late a check in time, but my wife had stayed there in the past and wanted to go. So, I call about 2:30 to see if we can check in, "nope, it is still being cleaned." OK, we stall until 4. 1. 4:17 after waiting 17 minutes on other guest and try and check in and the room is still not ready. 2. 4:35 "oops, the room is not unclean it is double booked. "no problem we will find you something even if we have to upgrade." 3. 4:50 here is an upgraded room w/ a fireplace, it is supposed to not be pet friendly but we will make it work. We set off to the new room, unpack out things, climb to the second floor only to discover the room has one bed instead of 2. 4. 4:55, go back, wait in line and inform them it won't work while my family is waiting in the parking lot w/ all our stuff. While I was standing in line 4 other people in front of me are there for various complaints, key card won't work, double booked and someone is in the room, 1 bed instead of 2, gal allergic to dogs in put in a pet room, etc. 5. 5:30 they have scrambled and talked to various employees trying to find a room, the check in employee is not from there and not familiar w/ the rooms. 6. 5:40 the new employee discovers the room building we were originally booked to move in has several rooms open which she could have given me at 4:17, but she didn't know the layout. 7. While I am waiting, she offers me the free breakfast, "Great what is it?" " I don't know she states. "Is the spa up and running I ask." "No that is not working." Later the staff told me the spa hasn't been opened in months and corporate won't change the website. 8. 5:50 we move all our stuff from the one originally given to our new room. We finally get in the room at 6pm. 9. The room... Have to give kudos where they are due in order for it to be a good review. Spacious, nice new mirrors, vanity/sink area is large and the bathroom is nice but it ends there. 10. 6pm we finally settle in the room. We find the pillows are only 1.5-2" thick, wrap 4 layers of cardboard in a towel and you get the idea. so my wife sends my son off to the original room to find the personal pillow they had left behind. He found the gal who was allergic to pets in the same room we had already brought our pet into. 11. Towels are so thin and dingy they are identical to what I use in my shop as rags. Coffee pot doesn't work. Toilets flush, but you need to hold down on them for 30 seconds and you have a 50/50 chance of it flushing completely. Minimal but a bed reading light is out. So much for first impressions. 12. The heat was stuck at 78d all night and we couldn't lower it, sweated all night until maint, found it didn't work in the am. Only thing to do was to turn it off. 13. The "Ocean View" is looking over a parking lot, then a large area of a broken down, beat up building that looks like it should be destroyed which is the spa area. The spa area about 30' long and 12' high making the primary view below the ocean. You can see the ocean over the top of it, not bad view but completely disrupted by the decrepit spa building. Maintenance told us of the 3 spas there, all had broken at various times in the past and none were working but the corporation owning the hotel wouldn't spend any money on it. 14. They have a balconies including chairs and a table but are so narrow if you sit in the chair anyone passing has to turn sideways or the person in the chair has to turn their legs like in a movie theater. Not as bad, but close. If someone is carrying luggage, forget it, the sitting person has to stand up. 15. 8 am. The maintenance crew start work on the floor above us, so much for sleeping in 16. Midday, we have to move our cars in the parking lot as they are spray painting. 17. Every guest I talked to there had a complaint of one sort or another. The guest next to us had urine stained carpet that smelled of urine. 18. I complained to the manager the next day and she was very nice, patient etc. citing new employees as the challenge. She even comped me a room for one night. To be honest she was quite pleasant and apologetic about the whole affair. All the staff were really nice, but not one staff member had anything positive to say about the management of the hotel. The hotel has great potential. A great location, great access to the beach, the view of the spa building could be pleasant if it was kept up but not as is. The breakfasts were biscuits and gravy, next day eggs and potatoes. Pretty good for a smaller hotel, unfortunatley they ran out by 9am. Can't change the balconies but buy some pillows and towels, clean the rooms, fix the spa, prepare enough breakfast for what you have booked and hire someone who knows how to book and is familiar w/ the hotel. Paint on the outside wouldn't hurt either. It is not nice or pretty.

As in Astoria we had One heck of a bag lunch from our other non chain motel! Anyways this was the only place available and we took. It was really clean but very outdated but we wanted clean and quit and that's what we got. The pop machine took our money so a cleaning lady got us our pop and the heater in the bathroom will cook you out. The lady told us about a steak house down the street so we went for Dinner that night and was pleased as it was a Very nice Steak and seafood Restaurant. We were there 1 1/2 and loved our time there as well. So staying here for us was great. The only reason I gave 4 stars is this place was a motel and $114 is just a little steep. Here in Minnesota it would be a $59 room. I would like to add that I can see that the owner lady could be rude as she asked us atleast 5 times if we smoke and could tell that she would like to charge overage as they live there and you can see them peaking out windows.

But it's totally not worth 85 a night. PROS: Nice newer laminate floor Heater works quickly Hot water in bath Handy parking Free ice Nice owner CONS: Mold thick in the window sills, around the shower Dirty room Thin walls allow all sounds to come in, road, conversations, etc, be careful what you say Horrible lumpy hard bed Worn out pillows No breakfast of any sort Free coffee was bad Wifi never worked No AC Prison grade toilet paper Creepy guys sitting around watching you in the parking lot Comically bad build quality Security cameras EVERYWHERE! (Guess they need to watch the creepy guys) Beat up furniture Curtain appeared to be some sort of wetsuit material, hung on electrical conduit rod screwed into a plumbing connection $41 bucks a night? Sure, if you're okay with the downsides, and don't mind endless road noise and neighboring room conversations. $85 bucks a night? Ha ha, you're kidding, right?

It was cheap -- $39 -- and we figured a place to stay in a strange place is a gamble anyway, may as well go cheap. We held our breath on the way there, hoping we hadn't just booked a really scuzzy room. When we arrived, Terry checked us in and said he'd upgraded us to a better King sized room for an extra $6. He was really sweet so we paid it and checked in. Wow, were we surprised! A very cute and clean room with a small table and two chairs, a flat screen TV and dresser, a microwave and refrigerator and a sink outside the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, the linens were completely fine and the bathroom was clean! Good shower pressure, clean towels, newish carpet, a heater that worked in lightning speed and a parking space right outside. We kind of loved Motel 101 and will definitely be back.
