The photos gave us the impression that our rental would be closer to the water, but it was not. The room also felt smaller than expected, and the overall experience did not feel like a resort. It felt like an RV park with a few manufactured homes. We were asked to leave because our dogs were briefly off leash the night we arrived. My partner had an accident in the cramped quarters and got a black eye. In the commotion, our golden retriever got out while he was going to the car to get ice. When we realized he was missing and opened the front door, he was sitting there waiting. The next morning, we were walking our dogs from the unit to the car on the property, looking for their leashes, when the park manager, Deidre, confronted us about the leash rule and said our dog had been "all over the small park" the night before. We tried to explain what had happened, but she was unnecessarily confrontational and focused on the fact that we had "broken the rules." She also considered it another violation that we had stepped out from our unit to the driveway of our rented home without leashes. After several minutes of being scolded while we were outside trying to leave, she said, "I am not trying to be a hard ass." At that point, we told her she was definitely going overboard. I could not change what had happened the night before; I could only leash the dogs going forward. In frustration, I cussed and asked what the actual penalty was so we could stop having a confrontation on our vacation. She returned within the hour, knocked on our door, and told us, "The penalty is to leave." She added that if we did not leave, she would call the police. We packed up and complied. Frankly, I was not upset about leaving because we did not like the accommodations and had felt stuck with a three-night stay we had already paid for. On our way out, we stopped at the office to discuss the unused nights. Deidre arrived, intercepted the conversation, refused a refund, told us to leave, and said she was calling the police a second time. What shocked us most was that Deidre tried to keep payment for nights we did not stay. We worked through Airbnb and ultimately received the refund against Diedre's wishes. Future guests should know this is an RV park, not the waterfront resort experience the listing suggested to us. We found a real beachfront place down the road for much less money. read more

September 4, 2025. We've stayed at this RV Park numerous times over the last 10 years. We always get a hot tub site that we really enjoy. The staff is very friendly and the park as well maintained. They have a laundry room and a new dog run area. You can walk down to the ocean from the RV park. The beach goes on for miles in either direction. The beach can get windy at times, but on this particular trip visit, we had outstanding weather. They used to have the Tortuga Mexican food restaurant; however, that went out of business recently. Arch Rock Brewery took over their space. Does it get any better? A brewery and hot tub at the RV park at the ocean. The resort also serves breakfast now, and we took advantage of that. My favorite breakfast items were the sausage breakfast burrito and the French toast. They also make delicious mochas. read more

This is our 2nd trip here, but the first in one of the cottages. We stayed in #38, and it was really nice. There's a queen size bed in the room and two twin beds in the loft. They provide you with basic cooking items and cleaning, along with toiletries. There's a fan in the living room and bedroom for those warm summer nights and a TV in all three spaces. The deck is huge! And the hot tub is good for 4. You're literally steps from the path to the ocean and if you walk off your deck and in between a couple bushes you'll see it. It would be nice if those shrubs were cut way down just to see the ocean and river that goes behind the cottage. read more

The website gives the impression it's ocean front, it's not. They also have two dozen small cabins for rent for $380 a night. The cabins are unusually small and although they advertise sleeps 4 there is only one queen size bed that takes up the entire bedroom. The bathroom is so small it's difficult to turn around. Worse of all the staff is horrible!! The park manager Diedra wants everyone to know she is the manager and her word is law. She makes up rules that she goes along and runs the place like a concentration camp. read more

Nice little rv park close to the ocean. We stayed three nights. Park was well kept other than bath house. Tried to use showers on two occasion, no hot water after running water for 10/15 mins. Outlets not working. A bit frustrating. Sad in this crazy world that one can not pull into a camping park w/o seeing trailers with political signs plastered across their RV. Really...just so disgusting this would be allowed. I will be letting good Sam know as well. read more

Campground over all was descent and Mexican restaurant on site had DELICIOUS food and friendly service but our site was horrible. We booked over the phone (instead of onsite) hoping we could make sure we got what we needed, however, that did not help. We were told site #95 was 47' and spacious enough for our rig and 8ft bed Ram 3500 dually, to park comfortably in front of the RV. We ended up having to CAREFULLY fit the truck 'next' to our rig in between 2 other trees. We were directed by the office to go in down their main road towards our site, one way, which ended up having a very low bearing untrimmed over-hanging bushy tree which our 36' ft / 13'6 high fifth wheel rubbed against. Needless to say there was another way to go in which would have avoided that, had we not listened to their directions! Our site also had huge trees everywhere and on each side of our spot as well as a rental cabin and another huge tree across the road from us so trying to back in and maneuver was BEYOND CHALLENGING!!! In fact, 3 different friendly neighbors came out to help us, agreeing they had no idea how the office could have even given us that spot. Luckily with the extra help, all 4 of us, plus my husband's patience, and many challenges, we finally got parked safely. All the trees also drastically affected our Starlink during our stay, and we had specifically explained (when booking), our work/starlink situation. It was a very busy packed holiday weekend also, and was 'extremely' noisy as they mix in tents and RV's instead of separating those areas. The main highway runs along that rear park area and the beach so the closer you are to the back, the highway noise is pretty bad even at night. We have a pretty solid rv and ran a fan in our bedroom for sound so other and to drown it out. On a positive note, the beach is within walking distance and the Mexican restaurant on site had DELICIOUS food and friendly service! We ate twice from there including take out. If they would pay better attention to where they place people and listen to their customers on needs and rig sizes, it may have been a better experience. They also need to keep tenting and rigs separate like other campgrounds do. We recommend when booking CALL and also ENSURE you park by the office and go WALK TO YOUR SPOT FIRST to make sure 'for yourself' best way to get to it, and into it. We really love this beach, but I'm not sure I will be back to the Turtle Rock rv resort. There is a restaurant with pretty good food and live music. Don't spend the money on the hot tub. They dont respond to inquiries or concerns. The controls are shut off, and they keep it way too hot for my liking. The resort is just okay, very close to the highway, and can be noisy. The beach has these great perfectly round flat stones which are very cool and you might get lucky and find black agate there too. There isn't much to do, so we left early and would only return for the beach. read more

We stayed here from June 28 through July 6th with my sister and her family who done the booking. We rented 2 cabins and the vacation rental house. What a disappointment. When we arrived we had noticed that the grass around the vacation house hadn't been mowed in a very long time. The back yard grass was knee high and the younger kids couldn't even play. One of the Cabin where my nephew was going to stay they moved the dresser to put in a pack and play for their baby and the outlet was smoking. We called immediately and they come and done a quick fix. The other cabin we had rented the toilet was just sitting on the floor and was not secured. We called and this issue was never fixed. You had to be careful when sitting down as it was very wobbly. The vacation house was disgustingly dirty. We addressed the issue and was told they were sorry. There was so much hair underneath a chair it looked like someone had brushed their dog and just brushed it under. The mats coming in the door was full of dog hair as well. The master bedroom shower looked like it hadn't been clean in a very long time. Pictures will show who gross it was. The floors in the corners looked like the cleaners literally just swept the dirt and hair into the corners. The decks and chairs with the hot tubs were not cleaned. some of the chairs were full of grease as they were near a BBQ. The BBQ grill was so gross we had to use foil as we couldn't even burn off the old stuff. We found dishes, silver ware and pans dirty in all of the drawers and cabinets. Do the cleaners not see There was sewer smell in the through the entire stay inside of the house and outside of the house. Especially if we were doing laundry. My sister went to the office and told them and she was told that someone would come and address it. Maintenance came out to address the issue but the gentleman didn't speak English and so she translated the best she could. Nothing happened as he just left and never returned. When you spend $9000.00 for 3 places with this resort you would expect that it would be cleaner, the grass mowed so the kids could play and the issues you shared with the office desk would be resolved. The Mexican restaurant on sight was good and most of the staff was pleasant and said hello when we seen them. But again, you would expect it would be cleaner, the issues to be resolved and at least if they couldn't a small refund made back to you for the inconvenience. read more

We stayed in Cottage #38 for the month of May 2023. Cottage was very clean when we moved in. Plenty of clean towels/linens. Can ask for more if needed. Cleaning performed at middle of stay and bedding changed and plenty of towels provided. Loved staying close to the ocean with a nice view. (Blocked a little by the bushes). Wifi was fantastic. We have stayed in other units in prior years and wifi was weak. Staff were very pleasant and responded to any questions we had. We did not use the spa. Silverware only included 4 spoons, and only small pots for soups... Dishes were ok but some cracked plates. We purchased two wine glasses and left them in the cottage for future guests. We did not use the bbq, it was very rusted(expected by ocean) but lid was not meant to be closed, so just cooked on the stove. We are hoping to reserve this unit again next year. read more

The last time we stayed here was 15 years ago. We were in a cottage that was very nice and the other two families stayed in RV's. It was that first experience that brought us back when looking for a place to meet up with friends. Us in our RV and them in a cottage. Let's just say a lot can change in 15 years. They've added a lot more cottages so it feels over crowded. The cottage our friends had (51) is in bad need of repair, updating, and a deep clean. The recliner mechanism is broke on one of the rocker/recliners. The dinette table needs to be refinished as everything sticks to it. There is a furnace vent in middle of floor that get very hot and will burn feet or paws. Though there are beds for 5, there are only 2 deck chairs. I guess they expect you to drag some of the 4 dinette chairs back and forth. The small gas grill was very dirty. So, at $228 a night it's definitely over priced. Our RV site (50) was nice but trees and bushes are overgrown making rig positioning tricky in order to get slides out. The cable for TV was useless. No reception in RV and very poor reception in cottage. Park wifi was bad, fortunately for us this cottage did have it's own wifi router so that was positive. $68 per night is much too high for what you get. No stars removed for this, but to cap off everything else for the week, we had gail force winds (20-35 mph) on all but the first day. This meant beach time was out unless you wanted to get sand blasted. Disappointing for us and especially for the 4 Goldens. We won't be back. read more

Perfectly nestled between the beach and a lovely little creek. That's the extent of the niceness. Bathrooms were dirty and unkept. There's a large stage area setup in the only grassy area of the "resort" that actually took up most of the tent camping area. In addition, RV sites were unkept with the fire pits clearly moved about each area. If you were unfortunate to get sites 1-5 you would be setup next to a trashy RV and a swamp FULL of mosquitoes. Quiet hours? Not a thing... campers were partying hard and kept us up late into the night. I would say, move on and find a different RV park along the beautiful Oregon coast. read more

We have stayed at many RV Resorts, but Turtle Rock is certainly not at the "Resort" level of quality. The park roads and sites are entirely gravel, with sites poorly maintained. I personally ended up spreading gravel to cover muddy spots on my site. In addition, sites are shorter than advertised. Front desk staff informed me to deduct 10' off the stated length! Of the three RV resorts we stayed at on this Oregon Coast trip, Turtle Rock was the worst AND most expensive per night. One reason it is expensive is that they overcharge for lodging tax. Curry county imposes a 7.35% tax, but the park charges 12% tax. Although the location and view is good, I would avoid this RV Park. There are better options on the coast - for less money. Also, if you do end up staying there, I also advise avoiding the on site restaurant. One member of our party ate the fish tacos and ended up sick from food poisoning - it lasted several days. read more

We made a spur of the moment decision to take a weekend trip in our RV. I called Turtle Rock on 10/19 to make a reservation for three nights beginning 19/21. On our way, 15 miles from home, a tire blew which ripped out some wiring and the propane hose to the stove and refrigerator. I called them to tell them that we couldn't make it and to cancel our reservation. I was told by the agent that I would be charged the fir entire three night stay because I didn't give them two days notice. That would've been impossible because I made the reservation two days before and they already put a one day charge on my card for the deposit. I told her that I didn't mind losing the deposit but that it's not fair to charge all three nights. She had the manager, Deidre, call me. Deirdre told me the same thing. I disagreed and told her that I would let everyone know how I was treated via social media. She offered one nigh of credit at a future time. I didn't find that acceptable. This is the end of their season and I asked if they had to turn anyone away because of my reservation. She said that didn't matter. I told her that I was paying for one night (deposit) and that they are out NO money. She would not change her position. They have lost any business from me and anyone I know and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Terrible customer service! read more

It's not all bad-- the site we had was large and fairly private. The campground wasn't very full, so we never saw many people out. Weather wasn't great, so we weren't out a lot. The walk to the beach is quick and easy. First off, our site had multiple dog poops we had to clean up in order to make sure no one stepped on it. We had our dog with, but we found the first as we were setting up. As a dog owner, clean up after your pup! As a customer, I expect the workers to check a site after it's been vacated, especially knowing a pet has been there & to clean up. One dog poop I could have overlooked, but it was 3 or 4. The biggest thing to put a damper on our experience was that our daughter got a rash from the hot tub. We used it twice and the next morning she had a rash all over her neck & shoulders-- exactly where the water line hit her. She does not have sensitive skin or any allergies, so that leads me to believe their chemicals are off or they don't do a good job cleaning the hot tubs. This was site #64, so think twice before getting in that tub! We had high hopes and were really looking forward to this campground. Thank goodness the Oregon Coast itself is stunning. read more

We had a res for a week, after 3 nights we left. Unkept, yards are not mowed or even weed eater cleaned up, grass/weeds probably 3-4 in long. We had dog poop on our site that we had to clean up. RV resort is a long stretch of the imagination. I'd call it an expensive slum. So many unkempt RV's belonging to permanent residents. Our site was anything but level, the hot tub had many of the control knobs missing and was really dirty. The place may have been nice at one time, but it's now very run down and needs a LOT of TLC which current ownership seems loath to do. The park roads once may have been gravel, but are now just pot-holed dust with some gravel here and there. My advice? Think really hard about spending your money here. Clean, friendly and looked like the best option for rv camping in the area. Beach access is stellar with a warm freshwater lagoon at turtle rock with the ocean on the other side. We are in site 27 and looks to be one of the better sites in the park. Trees separating sites, backs to rock mtn, close to trail, out of the wind. Clean large bathrooms. Each bathroom is just like home with one door a vanity, a toilet, and a clean shower, private bathrooms. Weak WiFi. Our neighbors had a hot tub site and was not impressed With the spa maintenance. Cloudy green smelly water. They said they knew they were not the first to use it. They said it was not worth the extra money. What a fun and lively campground! It is a bit cramped, especially when you have a 38' 5th wheel and a long bed truck, buuuut..... our site was badass! It had a sweet hot tub built in to a big patio! Our site was pretty private. They have quick access to the beach and are right along a river. There's a huge field where you can play games and have concerts. Stayed in cabin 51 for an Anniversary trip. the unit was not cleaned well. The BBQ was so dirty we did not want to use it, so we tried to use the oven and it would not light. Blind or curtain was missing from the back door and another window was missing the bottom half of the blind. Hot tub jets did not work. Only positive is , it is a close walk to the beach. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to staying at this RV resort. The maintenance and upkeep of this park is atrocious. I asked to have the spa looked at and was told it was "fine." I have been in a few hot tubs over the years and was confident it was not "fine." The missing dials and washers found in the filter supported my conclusion. After my challenge to the desk clerk she admitted there may have been problems with that spa in the past. I was told someone would be right over to double check. I waited 90 minutes. No one came. After a rain storm the 30 amp circuit shorted out completely. Luckily I had a 50 amp adapter. $4 dollars to dry a load of clothes because they don't finish on one cycle. My wife said she felt dirtier after leaving the shower. Our neighbors lived there full time. There were many permanent residents. I was thankful because ours were the best. Decent working young family. I Spent $50 dollars for togo food at the restaurant. Apparently I ordered everything off the kids menu. Even if the quantity was improved the quality was not there. It tasted exactly like you would imagine Mexican food tasting if it were made at a restaurant in a ran down RV park. I had a scheduling/reservation question for the front desk. Again, I was told someone would get back to me. Again, no response. Fortunately I fixed the problem myself. A common theme with the staff is that the lights are on but no one is home. Ultimately we left a day early even though we had already paid. At that point it seemed like a good deal just to get out of there. In the end I can only blame Myself. It wasn't turtle rocks fault. I willingly made the reservation. I didn't do my homework like I typically do. I won't make the same mistake twice. read more

We stayed in cottage # 25 for several nights in July. It was clean and stocked upon arrival. I was able to cook a few simple meals in the kitchen, and the bed, though firmer than my preference, was fine. The hot tub was a good place to relax; it was clean and a perfect temperature, although they do need to put an overhead light on that area of the deck. There is a front porch light, but it doesn't reach the hot tub around the corner, so it was pitch black at night. I had to hold a flashlight so my husband could see enough to remove the cover, and we also used it to try to see enough to safely get into, and out of, the hot tub. The people in the office were nice and helpful, and the park itself was clean. We met some very friendly people there, and overall enjoyed our stay. read more

On our first day here, I would have given this place one star. It's getting three because of 1. Amazing beach access, 2. They have a convenient set-up to travel with pets 3. Despite the cons, I can tell they are trying to improve. We stayed in Cabin 40 and are a family of 4 + 2 dogs PROS: Beach access, nice views of the creek/ocean, nice deck and outdoor table, comfy mattress in main bedroom, well-equipped kitchen, nice eating area, coffee pot with plenty of coffee stuff, BBQ that worked, hot tub, pet friendly, selection of DVDs, games/puzzles, other reviews mention lack of clean linens but we did not have an issue with this, cute decor CONS: COVID or not, it didn't hit the "undeniably clean" mark. I found the SimpleGreen and wiped everything down. There were four space heaters plugged in and running when we arrived which made the place stuffy and a little smelly. We aired it out. Roku sticks not set up and didn't work because we never found a WIFI network. Refrigerator completely froze our food on our first night. Also, duck tape holding together one of the shelves. BACK SLIDING DOOR: Did not lock, there is a piece of wood instead and extremely difficult to open and close. Maybe there's purpose there because by the time someone shoved that door open, the whole cabin would hear. Seems like faulty electricity. The first night a fuse blew in the living room which my husband tried to fix by figuring out where the box was in the dark and rain. After searching around, we decided to wait and call in the AM; annoying after a long day traveling. The kitchen light flickered on and off the whole time. Hot tub seemed like it needed to be serviced- the water had an odor to it and algae forming on the edges. There was an open and half full Rockstar can sitting on the nightstand in the main bedroom, which was just kind of weird. I found myself asking, "How much did we pay for this?!" At $1100 for 4 nights (with pets), I feel the cabin is overpriced. We felt like annoyed home owners working around the quirks of the cabin.
