To be fair, we were on a two-week trip, and this was the second-least expensive stay. It was totally worth what we paid. The big plus for us was the location. It was walking distance to the marina and Jerry's Rogue Jet Boats (which is why we were there) and several restaurants. We were on a motorcycle and it's much simpler to walk places than get all suited up. The Good: clean, fresh paint, no mold; friendly staff; Wi-Fi worked; quiet, no noisy neighbors; off the highway. The could be easily fixed and get that last star: need more pillows on the bed for sitting propped up and watching TV(!); needs towel hook next to shower; needs a well-placed power strip on the nightstand to satisfy the plethora of device-charging needs that most people now require. The so-so but didn't bother me, but might bother you: no hair dryer in room, but supposedly available in the office; weird water hammer in the morning, bang, followed by three, repeat. Not loud enough to wake me up. The FYI that they can't do anything about and for which I'm not dinging a star: the driveway is "challenging". It's steep with a hairpin turn at the top, and you're likely to drag body parts if you take the inside line. I started up it in "my lane" and (remember, on a fully loaded MC with passenger) couldn't make the turn at the top, and made into a three-point turn. If you're on a bike or towing a trailer you'll want to start up the driveway outside of your lane, all the way left. read more

We typically wouldn't stay at a Motel 6, but this Gold Beach location looked decent from the outside, a little set back from the road, and was extremely affordable--especially with no pet fee, which is rare and much appreciated. The room was basic and a bit worn (some mold on the shower curtain), but clean and perfectly adequate for the price. What made the stay memorable was Krisha at the front desk. His warmth, helpfulness, and pride in running a family-owned property really stood out. He even loaned us a blow dryer with no fuss. The front desk/office staff are very helpful and responsive to any concerns and don't tolerate late night shenanigans which we were thankful for. The room was "adequate" but lacks AC which made the room VERY stuffy at night, and couldn't open the blinds without having them all the way open. The security latch was broken on our door so we were unable to use it though we felt safe given the location. The floors appear swept but definitely not mopped as there was something spilled on floor between the beds from previous occupants. Bathroom door doesn't lock (no big deal for us), toilet doesn't flush well and we didn't shower because drain was broken and short, curly hair (use your imagination) still in shower from previous occupants. Beds are soft and uncomfortable and comforter wasn't laundered (stain on top). The grounds are very clean! Nice view with seating and BBQ area. Bags available if you are traveling with a dog, which is awesome that's an option. Vending machine, ice machine and on-site laundry. read more

I called the hotel to book a room. In there pictures they show a few rooms with recliners and I called hotel directly to verify I could get a room with it , on the ground floor (I have a very bad back and can't sleep in a bed) the agent I talked to said that was no problem so I booked two nights. Once there, we were given a ground floor room but no recliner? I went back to office and she told me they haven't had them in Years! I got no sleep that night , even tried sleeping in my car but it was to cold. Left early in the AM very unhappy (I was told we didn't have to stay for the second night! One of the better Motel 6's we've stayed in so far on our road trip along highway 101! Staff is friendly and the check-in process was a breeze. Love that they had a walk up window outside for checking in, especially during the covid-19 pandemic. Our room was clean and comfortable. The sheets and towels were a nice quality...not really thin like the other Motel 6 locations we've stayed this trip. The shower had a nice curved curtain rod, which I really appreciate...less likely to have the shower curtain touch you while showering :-P I was planning on a 4 star rating, but the shower doesn't drain properly...you end up standing in your dirty shower water while showering :-/ Same with the sink. Water pressure and temperature were good. This is an old school layout of motel. The rooms are accessed right off the parking lot. This is another great feature during covid. They also have a designated pet area for pottying. Not many Motel 6's we've stayed in this trip have that. Makes it much more convenient to take the dogs out to potty. Overall a good experience. Some serious water pressure. All the boxes checked. Coffee in the AM downstairs in the office that comes with the added treat of seeing the local deer come by. Friday morning I'm riding my bike to work and someone pulls out right in front of me and Stops, wrecking me and putting me in the hospital as a trauma admit. Saturday I'm in surgery (and with a plate and 6 screws, suffice to say my trip is a no-go - now also in my 2dy cancellation window) and then in recovery and it's late sunday when I have access to info and my phone. So I call the hotel number on my reservation and explain the sitch to him, and they send me to the front desk. So I call the front desk and explain the sitch to him and he tells me that because I booked through USAA I must call them. I'm in tears at this point, between the pain, frustration and run-around, but I think 'ok, They, at least won't fuck with me and this will be the end of it,' but it beyond late, and desperately needed some pain meds and rest and I called them in the morning. Well, guess what? it turns out that they must have the HOTEL'S PERMISSION to cancel and guess who wouldn't give it? If you guessed Gold Beach you get a gold star! So now not only do I miss the trip that I've been looking forward to for several months, but I'm out the hotel fee And I have the added fun of getting aftermath of getting bounced off a car. When I was calling around this area for a place to stay I made sure to ask about being pet friendly -since we were traveling with our two dogs. I confirmed with a staff (white female) they had one room left for four adults (myself and my two teenager children ). When we checked in everything was fine and the staff also saw us waking in with our two dogs since the room they gave us was next to the office. In the morning, as I finished walking the dogs and going back to my room the owner (dark Indian female) -Sangeetha Patel walked by and gave me a dirty mean look up and down. She went back into the office and didn't say anything. Later When I went over to the office to asked her for two towels since we only had two bath towels in the room for four people she gave me look but gave it to me. Taking her sweet time. She gave me ice cold menacing looks throughout both incident -Not saying anything nice or any greetings. About 20minute later, she called the room -this is about 9am and started yelling at how there is no pet allowed in the room and for me to get out. Check out was at 12pm and it was only 9am at this time. Although My family and I were in the middle of getting ready to leave ---so I said what are you talking about and I was letting her know I did comply with her pet policy and letting the staff from the night who checked us in that we had pets. She called me a liar and continued to berating me for lying and saying all kind of people try to cheat her and the system. I said I don't know what's she talking about and reminders her that motel 6 is pet friendly so why is she doing this she continued to yell at me it is but I have to let people know. I said well don't call me a liar and stop yelling at me. She hung up so I called her back and she continued to yell and call me names. -at one point she called me ugly. She threatens to charge me an extra $50 for having pets -which she did and which I will be disputing. As my husband and my children started rushing to pack because of this crazy lady we started to leave and get to our car. Outside of my room was a box where people can drop off their keys (remember I'm next to the office) I went there and stopped by the open front office door and I said to her that she can go look at the room because I cleaned it up and also took pix to show we cleaned up super well after our stay. Her husband mr. Patel started cussing at me. And he got up and rushed after me and I ran to my car. As he was chasing me he was cussing and As soon as I got into my car and slammed the door I said wow! And you kiss your children with that mouth??! They both stared rushing at me in my car screaming get out get out. And I did say back to them how low class can you be to behave this way. And for the room I paid $160 and I will be disputing that due to this low class (low caste) behavior and rudeness. I've contact motel 6 the corporate office but I believe most of the Patel families own it. So it May never be resolved if the family owns the company - but at least I have my credit card on my side and they are working on the dispute right now. Pretty proud I did not stoop to their low class way of communication with threats,name calling, and cussing. TLDR: chased us out, dishonest; Guest Relations unhelpful On 5/2/21, my dad called the motel & requested a room for 4 adults with pets, check-in 7/23 check-out 7/26. He was emailed a confirmation letter. On 7/23/21, I called to say our itinerary changed to 2 nights & we'd be arriving late in the evening. We arrived. My parents checked in together*. The man checking us in claimed that we'd booked for 1, but my dad showed him the confirmation letter. This was our first time speaking to him; both times we'd called, the staff sounded like women. Still, we thought the person who booked us had noted down that we had pets. While my mom & my sister went up first to sanitize the room, the man from check-in came storming over to our car. My dad got out & the man launched into a loud proclamation of his honesty before restating that we'd booked for 1, not 4†, additionally claiming he'd planned to let it go to be nice (??) but he'd asked my dad 3 times about pets & all 3 times my dad said no. (At no point during check-in did the man say anything about pets.) \ To clear our name: first, *why would both parents check in together if we meant to pretend to be only 1 guest? Second, a past confirmation for a 2019 stay with the Medford Motel 6 shows in the comment field that we'd declared our pets then; why wouldn't we also declare this time? We've only had complications with checking in at a hotel once before, & that was when a Motel 6 overbooked. The man told us to leave in 10 min & he'd give our money back, or he'd call the police. My dad tried to ask what our options were, but he kept interrupting & repeating his threat like a broken record. My dad pleaded we had nowhere else to go but the man didn't care. My dad got angry & said we'd complain, also no use. Instead of processing us in the office, he hovered around our car repeating his demands & yelling not to block another car, which just arrived to take our spot. We were so frazzled, we didn't realize 'til later that we still had the room key cards. At one point, my dad stopped the car to ask the man's name. "I am the manager!" My dad repeated his question in return, but he started shouting, "I am the manager! My name is manager!" on loop. It's common practice for a hotel to help you find another place, which they didn't. We were stranded in Oregon with barely enough signal to call corporate & emergency services for help, without success. Corporate passed us around for a bit before finally concluding that we'd have to wait to call Guest Relations the next business day. The dispatcher similarly told us they couldn't handle civil issues 'til morning. The next morning, an officer called only to repeat that they couldn't handle civil issues at all, adding that the owners, surname Patel, were nice people who helped the women's shelter. If true, 1) it doesn't make up for his abusive behavior towards us & 2) it seems like he's a calculating actor, the blowhard act to hide his name, the philanthropist act to impress the locals. (But thanks to the cop's hint + the internet, I'm 90% certain he's Prashant Jayantilal Patel.) Every pet friendly hotel was full. We ended up at a rest area that allowed 4-hour parking, brushed our teeth in a public restroom & slept fitfully for a few hours in the car. For our second night, we found a campground with a vacancy & purchased camping equipment. We found that they originally hadn't canceled the third night as requested; instead, they'd charged us an additional $143.77. These were both refunded, I assume right after we left, but it's all very strange. A number of other reviews report similar experiences. Mysterious changes in booking dates, charges, pet-unfriendliness... After we returned home, my sister called corporate to confirm if we'd be refunded (didn't know yet bc they take a week to show up) & to complain about the manager. Guest Relations informed my sister that the manager claimed we tried to sneak in †6 people & pets. Funny how it jumped from 4 to 6. Anyway, Corporate basically just listened to the manager & decided we weren't owed any apologies or further action. All in all, an appalling experience. We will never use Motel 6 again. read more

It's a Motel 6. I wasn't expecting the Ritz, but for a Motel 6, this is probably one of the best I've ever been to (ranked top 5). It smelled like a Motel 6, it had the amenities of a Motel 6, it had the touristy brochure rack of a Motel 6, etc. I think you get it. We stopped in here after finding out the route we were taking to the city we wanted to stay in had iced up, so we wanted to wait until morning to start out again, rather than drive an icy road we weren't familiar with at night. The staff (both evening and morning) were very nice, and very accommodating, and even gave my ex-Navy boyfriend a discount on his room after he showed them his ID. The room was clean, the beds were comfy, and the heater worked. The view from the parking lot wasn't bad either (we could see a nice river running to the ocean), and we had a decent nights rest before setting out again. read more

As usual it was one of the least expensive places to get a room. It was located in a great location although not the most obvious street. It's located by the jet boats and water. I was able to book online and the room was large, clean and comfortable. I was able to take my dog and it had a fridge and microwave. It was more cozy than some other motel 6's I've stayed at. The best part was Heather who called to confirm my reservation. I had made multiple errors in my reservation and she calmly explained them and helped me correct them. I had to call her back multiple times with my corrections and other questions. She was super nice and very accommodating. Things I won't forget if I ever need a room in this area again. Haha. Oh man. Like the punchline to a bad joke. Literally the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. This place NEEDS to be shut down. The first words out of my wife's mouth as we walked in the room were, "Why does it smell like human piss in here?" She wasn't lying. Room 114 WREAKS of urine. Turns out, this room appears to have been used as the potty training ground for every dog, child, and man that has ever existed, and failed at NOT pissing all over the floor. The wood trim and flooring are warping from piss. Literally. It's the most atrocious hotel room west of the Congo. You know, the fucking jungle. Take a sponge, soak it in bloody cumy piss, add a $23 mattress, some period blood sheets, and all the tears from every aborted child of all time, and you have room 114 at Motel 6 in Gold Beach, OR. Sheets are literally all stained. Looks like the ever classic combo of cum and drool, nicely complimented with a, crowd pleasing, pubic hair garnish. Bugs, weird ceiling stains, and genital hair on the sink, toilet, and hand towel. It even looks like hair is growing out of the wall joints. WTF!!?? This room is a fucking portal. #winning As we both settled onto the top of our bed, fully clothed, my wife asks (as she was examining some suspicious stains), "what does old semen smell like!" That was our cue to leave. If a hotel could have a communicable disease, this would be it. This place needs to experience an electrical fire that levels it. Like stat. It's absolutely unfit for human occupation. I'm seriously shocked this place is in operation outside of a third world country. SHUT IT DOWN!!! And to anyone who rated this over 1-star...screw you. Either you have Hep-C and just want the world to suffer with you, or you are the "star" of that Hoarders episode where they found 30 dead cats and an old pancake under your boob. (Seriously check out that episode if you've never seen it) We've filed complaints with the Oregon Health Authority, OSHA, and the Attorney General's Office. And no, we didn't stay. NASTY. First I was put in a room which had stains on the inside of the door which looked like blood or remnants of smashed insects. There was a dark spot of something stuck to the comforter. Another peculiar stain on the inside of the bathroom door. The spa on the premises was full of dirt along with floating debris (much more than to be expected). It didn't help that it was luke warm either. Was placed in a new room which was an improvement but still dirty tub and bathroom floor. Our stay at Motel 6 was ok until our last morning, when all hell broke loose. Mostly clean, mostly quiet, in a convenient location near beaches. HOWEVER, the manager is a big jerk! He lives above the office, and is always hovering around the property being a Karen re: where people walk their dogs, where they park, how "noisy" they're being as they're walking up the stairs, etc. We stayed for about a week and had no run-ins with him until our last day. My husband had arranged the night before for us to check out an hour later than normal, and the clerk had agreed. Then, on the morning we were checking out, the manager called the room and said we had to be out of the room by the regular checkout time, which was in half an hour (!), or he would charge us another full day's rate. Our kids were asleep, my husband was in the shower, and we weren't close to packed. My husband tried to reason with him in a civil manner, but the manager turned it into a screaming match in the middle of the parking lot. The manager insisted that we HAD to be out of there on time b/c HE PERSONALLY had not ok'd the later checkout, even though he agreed that his clerk had so agreed and had noted it in their system. Our kids were scared and confused, wondering why this guy was shouting at their father and telling us to get out. WTF? We had had no issues with this guy, or anyone else at the hotel, until this point. We got out of there on time, completely frazzled, totally ruined our morning. My husband followed up with corporate, who did nothing about it other than noting the complaint. All it says to me is that Motel 6 has a very low bar for which motels can join their network. THEY DON'T CARE about customer service (see the other complaints on Yelp about this place) and this manager mistreats guests with no consequences for his actions, other than bad Yelp reviews. read more

My bf and I are moving from LA to Washington with our two cats and were under the explicit impression that Motel 6 reliably accepted cats at all locations (the hero image on their homepage literally is a picture of a cat and proudly states this). So we confidently made a reservation on the Motel6 website and checked the box saying we had pets. We had been driving for about 10 hours to get to this location which is kind of in the middle of nowhere. We get in around 10pm and the front desk lady said and I see you have dogs? And I said "cats" and she does "oh we don't have any cat rooms available, only dog rooms". ????? She insisted there was a difference between dog and cat rooms despite there being no option to differentiate between the two when booking. The woman tried to say there were other hotels that accepted cats but "couldn't remember the names". Wow. Thanks. Super helpful. Totally screwed us over. read more

The woman who greeted us was WONDERFUL. I mentioned seeing some bad reviews and was concerned so when I got there she gave me the he room key to inspect the room prior to accepting. I was already planning on doing this but she was a step ahead of me on it. She said she wanted to make sure I was comfortable. The rooms are laminate floors which I prefer, especially in a pet room. The same woman who checked us in was there in the morning and we had a wonderful chat while I made a mess making coffee, which she only laughed about. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and benches set where the view of the bay and the bridge can be enjoyed as the sun sets. The only reason I didn't give a five is because there aren't any air conditioners in the rooms which would only be a problem in the middle of summer. Stayed here 2 nights because we wanted to go on the jet boat. It was expensive for a motel 6, but the location is excellent. I don't expect much from Motel 6, but usually I expect shampoo and conditioner. Only one little soap was provided for 4 adults, and it seemed like motel owners are skimping. The room seemed clean enough, and it was nice to have a dog potty area, but the place is noisy. Lots of plumbing sounds, and every time the neighbors opened their door it sounded like they were entering our room. No coffee maker, no coffee at the office, but after we asked they provided a small coffee maker for our room. At least they tried to make it right. read more

I really like the location of this hotel compared to other places in town. It's a very short drive to the town center, not even five minutes. It's off of the main roads and highway 101 and it's literally across the street from the Rogue River. I was greeted promptly upon entering the main office. The resident manager was kind, polite, and answered all of my questions. I asked her about places to go fishing and she recommended and gave me directions to a spot not far away. As for the room, I have no complaints. We were fortunate enough to get a non-smoking first floor room. Everything looks clean and well kept. The TV is a decent sized flat screen. There is a dresser, small table, two queen sized beds (in this particular room), a mini fridge, and a microwave. I am impressed with how big the bathroom is. There is a room for just the toilet and the bath/shower. The first room is where there is a closet as well as a sink. I really love the sink, it's a raised sink and seems very new and adds a classy touch. The only negative thing I have to say is that the mini fridge is actually rather loud from time to time. I would recommend bringing a small fan if you're bothered by noises when trying to sleep. WiFi is fast, channels selection on the TV is great. read more

One was a nice courtesy but the second raised my hackles. We were just pulling in to Gold Beach after having stopped to eat dinner. I was very tired after driving thru fog and was looking forward to a nice soak in the hot tub with a cold one and my husband by my side. I was told they haven't had a hot tub here for two years!! It's on the website and on their flyer! When they directed us to the room( right next to the ice machine) I wasn't too happy. But these walls can take the noise. Are they too cheap to hire quality, caring, mature individuals to work there, or did they just grab a couple of surly, incompetent teens to do the Greedy owner's bidding? Whatever the case--You can "upgrade" this hovel all you want, but the dirty cracks are still showing through. Don't waste your money on these folks. We were hoping for a relaxing one night stay in an affordable place, but that is not what we got at all. Our room was upstairs next to the manager's room and we heard clanging all night and into the morning. Could have been laundry room I suppose. The electrical outlet next to the bed was without a cover and coming out from the wall. The bathroom door hit the toilet and would be hard to close. For $126 I was expecting more for my money. At least to be able to sleep. We will not be staying there again. read more

BEST motel 6 ever. Clean updated room, no carpet (yay!), microwave, fridge, FREE wi-fi, coffee all day. The staff had us upstairs in a king size room I booked online but when I asked to have a downstairs she cheerfully changed it for us. Secluded off the main street so no highway noise. There is an indoor jacuzzi but we did not check that out. Staff called a few minutes after we checked in to make sure our room was to our needs. Nice touch! It looks like a motel that got taken over by Motel 6 --- the exterior is wood siding, not the normal stucco. Since this was my first stay I can't answer that question. Under $70 a night......I've paid more for less quality in higher brand hotels. I would definitely stay here again. read more

We found this motel 6 in Gold Beach to be clean, comfortable and convenient. We wanted 2 queen beds and all the other motels in town were either sold out or had only double beds, so we had no choice but to stay here. We thought it would be a downgrade from the other economy motels, but we were pleasantly surprised. The front office was friendly and efficient. Our room on the second floor was large, the beds were very comfortable and it had excellent WiFi. read more

most expensive motel 6 I've ever stayed in but with the fewest amenities! No AC so the rooms are STUFFY. And moreover, no coffee cause of corona. They usually serve it in the lobby, but it isn't that difficult to have the front desk person pour coffee into a paper cup and pass it through the check in window. Also not totally COVID sanitized. There were fingerprints from previous tenants. Dirt on floor. Gross. Would rather have slept on my car near the beach. read more
