They examined it thoroughly and ultimately diagnosed the problem as a fault in the motherboard. The solution turned out to be putting my solid state drive into another laptop several generations newer....effectively salvaging all my data and apps on a newer machine...all this for a few hundred bucks. They were extremely communicative, provided a fast resolution and ensured my PC was working to the best of it's ability. They were able to identify the power going to the GPU wasn't enough, due to user error on my part during the installation. They even went and updated my BIOS, drivers, and OS!
