This review is overdue, but I feel compelled to come back and say how awesome Ira Subaru was a few years ago when I bought a 2008 Impreza wagon (45k miles at purchase) with Gene D'Allessandro. Drove that car for near three years. It was my dream car. Loved every minute of having it. Selling was super sad but I was moving to NYC and had to let it go--easy because it was still in great shape. Now I'm out of NY and looking for another car, a Prius, in upstate NY and visiting dealers all the way from the Bronx to CT ... and do I sure appreciate how easy and pleasant that experience at Ira Subaru was. To start with, at the time, I believe they had a young woman GM who seemed super capable, which impressed me. They also gave me--quoting them--the best price "in the country" on that car at that time. I believed them. It wasn't cheap ($14k, maybe?), but I believe I didn't even try to haggle because I'd been researching for a few months and knew they had an unbeatable price. Their eval of my '02 Impreza wagon trade-in was also very fair. My car payment, all told with taxes, etc., was low in comparison to the offers I'm getting now for Priuses at dealerships and independents. I ended up refinancing anyway to save a few bucks because I have good credit, but it was still better than what I'm seeing now on non-CPO cars, even at the Toyota dealerships. Not only that, but if I remember correctly when I said I would pay to have a Bluetooth stereo installed, they covered the cost as a courtesy (the only thing I wanted the car didn't have). It's worth pointing out that I'm a single woman and went in there alone. At no point in the entire process did I ever feel not in complete control of what was happening. When I decided I didn't want an extended warranty (after seeing terrible reviews of every single one online--not Ira's fault), for example, they quickly rewrote the loan paperwork, no questions asked. I had no idea how pleasant that experience was until now--when I'm getting jerks grumpy and nearly misogynist when I walk in the door or try to negotiate price even a bit, jerks who refuse to discuss details on numbers at all, and jerks who try to upsell me on what I now think are basically worthless extended warranties after promising me a low payment over the phone just to get me in the dealership door, sometimes after an extended drive to get there. Not every experience has been awful, and some have been lovely. But I've been to half a dozen places by now, maybe, and the assumption that I don't know what I'm doing, the refusal to show me actual numbers and what I might be signing off on in terms of fine print, and the overall lack of respect has been ... interesting. Gene's still there, apparently! Highly recommend working with him. Felt absolutely taken care of throughout the process, and everyone else I dealt with was lovely. The Subie was a dream ... wish finding the right Prius were as easy. read more

3 1/2 hours to get one new tire, oil change and inspection sticker. Saw a coupon online for an oil change, told it was for conventional oil change and I required synthetic, okay except I just found a coupon for $20 off a synthetic oil change on IRA Subaru.com not 30 minutes later. Would have been nice to have that applied given I asked about coupons and had been inconvenienced by a 3 1/2 hour wait. Oh ya, and that courtesy car wash didn't happen either, I was told they didn't have time. It's clear based on my last couple of visits that the service department is not efficiently or effectively managed and they have little regard for their customers, their own commitments/offerings (like a complimentary car wash), and would rather save $20 bucks on an oil change than ensure customer satisfaction. Ira Subaru will no longer be getting my business for service or new cars. read more

My experience buying a car at Ira Subaru was actually quite nice and it is surprising to read the other reviews. I was a walk-in on the last weekend of December 2018 and while I had to wait a few minutes to see someone, Brett Fox eventually came up to say hello. I had done my research and knew the price I wanted to pay for a 2019 Forester. Brett didn't waste my time and we got straight to the sale. He was respectful and to the point, no nasty salesmen tactics or trying to push extra products on me. We reached a deal quickly and I left two hours later having purchased my car! The experience was enjoyable from start to finish and I highly recommend working with Brett. Thanks for the awesome new car! read more

I have two Subaru's, a 2011 Forester and 2013 Outback. All the Service has been done at Ira. I find them to be professional, straightforward and very helpful. My recent service experience have been with Nardy and Ilana and they have been terrific. Paul and Ted have helped me and they have been great as well. Paul S. read more

I have just recently purchased my first Suburu from IRA and have referred many of my friends and relatives to them. I had a great experience exploring the model Impreza that I wanted and Manny was a great help in offering his very expansive knowledge about the vehicle. I did not plan on making a purchase the day I went to IRA but I was so impressed with the knowledge of the salesperson, the assistance with financing and the fact that there was no pressure at all to buy. I ended up making my decision on the spot because of all the information I received, I did not have to go home and research further because I was given everything up front. I did not have to haggle over the price because they offered what I wanted to pay and gave me a great price on my trade. The day I picked up my vehicle, they were having a customer appreciation night. They served a full buffet and also had raffles. In speaking to other Suburu owners that night I found they were all very loyal second and third purchasers of suburu;s, this impressed me even more. Three days after picking up the vehicle, Manny called me to see how things were going and to ensure I was happy with my purchase and had no further questions. He had also informed me that I could return to have my inspection sticker placed. Upon arriving at Service to get my inspection sticker i was very impressed to find I was received by a smiling face and someone happy to complete my needs. I waited for a short 20 minutes before I was on my way. One week after purchase the business office called to ensure everything was still going fine and to let me know what I should be expecting in form of a welcome package. After driving my car for a week and a half now, I am so excited to drive the vehicle and really feel the safety while driving it. I feel it hugs the road and I feel very comfortable driving it. My opinion, when in need of a car purchase, shop around but make your final purchase with Ira as they will completed take care of your auto needs. read more

I thought that "customer first" was a thing of the past. That is not the case with George Valvanis of Ira. We just purchased an Impreza and felt so good about it because of the way we were treated George was not pushy, was helpful and actually made us feel very much at ease. I am sure as we go along that if there any follow up issues that George will guide us through. I cannot comment on the service department however I am sure they will be fine too. It was refreshing to be met with grace and caring for our best interest. I recommend IRA but can only speak for the way Mr Valvanis treated us. Thank you. read more

Getting my pre-owned Subaru Forester at Ira Subaru was great! Steve M. helped me get a fantastic deal. He was very helpful in explaining everything and allowing us to test-drive numerous cars. He was very friendly and it truly was a great experience speaking with him throughout the day! Highly recommend Steve!!!! read more

I do not recommend Ira Subaru. The main reason is because they were not truthful about the details of one of their financing offers. They told us one of the options gave us the extended warranty for no additional cost upfront. The only cost would be in the form of a negligible bump in the interest rate. So we went for it. Then a week or two later we get a bill for $3000+ for the extended warranty! I know for a fact they never told us about that charge as I never would have agreed to that. To their credit, they removed the extended warranty and did not charge us for it. But we are left with the slightly higher interest rate which will cost me around $400 over the life of the loan. Repeated calls to their finance department have been received with "well, we told you about that fee," etc.., etc.., which is not true, and an overall disregard for my concerns. Take your business elsewhere! read more

This is a letter I wrote to the VP of Marketing for Ira motor group. Note - the car buying experience was wonderful, but after you purchase the car... be prepared for second rate service. I am writing to alert you to a very serious problem that you have occurring at your Ira Subaru (Danvers) service department. I bought a 2010 Subaru Outback not quite a year ago from your Ira location from a wonderful gentleman. My husband and I had a wonderful buying experience, and we love our car. In fact, we are planning on buying another one for my husband within the year. The problems came in when we had to have general maintenance done on the car. We have been strictly following the maintenance schedule and have been there (I think) 4 times now. Of those 4 times, we have had to go back on 3 occasions because the maintenance was not performed properly. The first time in addition to the standard oil change we asked that the tires be checked because there seemed to be a balance problem. When we got the car back, the tire had not been rebalanced, which resulted in a second trip to finish the job. The second time we had to return was because after rotating the tires, again, re-balancing was not performed. For both of these situations, a simple test drive after service would have caught the problem. This third time however, is why I am actually writing. In all of the past incidents I have dealt with the manager. This time also, my husband and I dealt with Ken when checking in our vehicle. In addition to the 15,000 mile service we reported an extremely loud and irritating rattle coming from the rear of the vehicle. The manager proceeded to tell us that this was due to the tailgate - and that he knew exactly what the problem was. Since we have heard this before, my husband and I stressed that regardless of what he "thought" it was, we wanted him to confirm by taking the car for a test drive to hear it before (and after) fixing the problem. When I picked up the car later that day, it was clear to me upon opening the door that the car was not taken for a test drive. I am 5 ft tall, and nobody can even get into my seat unless they move the seat back. In addition to that, the radio was still on (loudly) from when I dropped the car off, and the mileage was EXACTLY the same as when we dropped it off. Moreover, as soon as I backed out of the parking spot the horrendous rattle started up again. Whatever the manager did to "fix" the problem did not work. Since the service department was now closed, I called the next business day to complain that the rattle was still there and that I would have to drop off the car (again). This past Tuesday (3/22/11) I dropped off the car for them to take another look at it. In driving me over to pick up a loaner, the tech instantly noticed the noise. Subsequent interactions with the tech went smoothly as he called me throughout the day to update me in what they found. He said that something in the rear wheel (cushing?) needed to be replaced. Since the part needed to be ordered they wouldn't have the car until the following day. They next day he called after installing the part and said that the noise was 90% gone, but that they were still hearing it and would need more time to figure out the problem. I got a message the following day (3/24/11) saying that I could pick up the car. When I came in to pick up the car, I asked what they ended up finding. His response to me was - "just drive it and see if you hear the noise." I told him that I would drive it, but still wanted to know what they did to the vehicle. He responded (really sarcastically) to check the printout. Upon checking the printout, the only things listed were buffers that had been added to the tailgate to fix "a poor fit". I asked about the rear wheel that the tech had addressed the day earlier, which wasn't listed on the print out, to which he replied that he had no knowledge of that work performed. To date, I still do now know what service was done on my vehicle, NOR have they fixed the problem. I now have a car that is less than a year old that rattles more than my 8 year old Hyundai did when I sold it. In every occasion that we have had to deal with the manager, he assumes that he knows what the problem is, and displays an attitude that he can't be bothered, or is irritated that we have questions. I feel that we have been more than patient with the oversights by his service department, but after the third time have come to the decision that the combination of the poor service, and HORRENDOUS attitude that my husband and I have received directly from the manager (of all people!) is unacceptable. We will no longer be taking our car to Ira Subaru service. And moreover, we will not be buying my husbands car from Ira Subaru or any other Ira dealership. I am writing this so that you are aware that the sub-standard service by your Ira Subaru service manager are affecting the reputation of your dealership. read more

Ira Subaru changed their phone system so that I can no longer call the service tech directly, which I really dislike. The new system makes me talk to an "appointment specialist" first, who tries to get me to make an appointment in order to get my technical question answered. If I insist on talking to a service tech, she will take my name and number and have the tech call me back which is very inconvenient. Half the time I don't need to bring the car in for service -- I just need to talk to a tech to get mechanical information about the car. The old system was better for customers, but maybe not for IRA's bottom line. The new waiting areas are nice. The people who work there are very nice. I see a few comments here about IRA *discovering* new things wrong with a car during the free multi-point inspection. Go to Cityside Subaru in Belmont if you want to be told "the mechanic discovered this-and-that wrong with your car and you might crash or ruin your engine if you don't fix it now." IRA is tame at playing this game. However, IRA, like most dealers, will not tell you how to save money on car repairs. For instance, both IRA and Cityside told me my car needed a new $1000 exhaust system but my local mechanic fixed it for $100 with a welded-on patch. I like IRA Service and Sales though. Their Service Dept seems honest and I trust them. And their Sales Dept sold me my last new car for $1,000 less than Cityside's best price. read more

I really wanted to give this dealership a chance, I would maybe still have purchased here if someone just took ownership of the mistake and worked with me. The first time I requested a test drive, the car wasn't available so I was shown a few others all with damage or smelling like smoke. I didn't have the highest budget and I understand that is limiting, I'll save the pushy sales conversation that came after. Two weeks later I returned after some research with another scheduled test drive, this car also wasn't available. I drove a different year and fell in love so the salesman told me it was ready to go. As I was signing papers he walked away and I could see on his screen in big letters a note about me saying "SHE DIDN'T LIKE ANYTHING WE SHOWED HER" and I ignored it as much as it made me want to walk away. Long story short from there, I signed the papers but finance manager was too busy so we were going to finish at pickup next day..."bad news" as I was leaving I was told they didn't have the title for the car! Fast forward after being told it would be coming in any day to the end of the week still no title, I've called the sales manager no return call and I requested a call today after talking to the sales guy who pretended they would give me a 2020 lease to rectify the issue and then, just like every other time we spoke asked if I could put more money down. I can't count how many times since the process began that I said I can't give you more money. I went to another Subaru and bought the same one same day no issues. I don't know if they cancelled the sale at Ira, I guess I never will. More details not worth mentioning. read more

My rating is based off my experience with the Service Department. Called to speak to the Service Manager about our recent service and told he would call me back. That never happened. Take pictures of your fluids and stuff if you expect them to be filled because ours weren't. Asked for tires to be rotated and they weren't. It took hours and hours for them to have my car ready. Made appointment for 2, told to arrive 15minutes early to do paperwork?. Arrived at 1:45 to be told my appointment was at 3 and that I was wrong. Nope they were wrong. Check out with service dept cashier who had no clue how to process a transaction charges 1.54 cents several times before she figures out how to work her computer, then tries to do subtraction to fix error making everything more complicated and disturbing. Never again. Women beware this place is typical treating you like you haven't a clue... disgraceful... bad representation of Subaru have dealt with the dealer in NC and had a wonderful experience! read more

I purchased a used Chrysler 200 convertible from this dealership in August. When I looked at the vehicle I noticed some bubbling on the hood. I asked if it would be fixed it I purchased the car. I was told no problem. I agreed to purchase the car. I was told that I could not take delivery of the car because they were waiting for the title. W weeks later when the title came in I went to pick the car up the hood was not fixed. I was not given a reason as to why. A couple of weeks later I dropped the car off again. A week later I went to pick it up and the hood was not done again. I was told they did not have enough time and had no way to get in touch with me even though they had all of my information. I asked again how long would they need the car. They told me a week. I dropped off the car for the third time. I asked what day could I pick the car up. I was told n the following Wednesday. I emailed the salesman the following Monday to confirm and was told no problem. While on my way to pick the car up on Wednesday night at 745 I was told they needed another day. I told them that was unacceptable and I am picking it up tonight. The next day in the sun I noticed the paint his did not match. I emailed the general manger,as well as the used car manager and never got a response. I tried calling multiple times and could get no one to pick up the phone. Now I am hacking mechanical issues with the vehicle. I am dealing directly with FCA. I called IRA at least twice every day this week and eitherno one answers the phone or I get told I will be transferred and then I get disconnected. I have never ewcisvws such horrible customer service in my life. I would recommend that nobody purchases anything from this dealership. read more

We recently bought a new Crosstrek from IRA Subaru... my four star rating reflects the service I received from our new car saleman. The best thing about the experience was working with a relatively new salesman, GREG. He was extremely patient with us (an "older" couple) through the two test drives we made. He was particularly helpful in setting up our Bluetooth communications, but in general was polite, concerned with our particular situation and a pleasure to work with. Who knows how long it will take for him to become jaded, manipulative and cynical like most new car salesmen I have encountered, but for now if you are interested in a new Subaru, you probably can't do better than Greg at IRA Subaru. read more

Let me preface this with if I could give will his own rating it would be 5 stars for his communication and customer service skills. Every time I've come in I have worked with him and he is always the silver lining in my experiences. The rest of the time, however, is terrible. The mechanics seem to just run on their own timeline. I was quoted 2-2.5 hours. Yeah there were a couple of other things they had to do so will updated me and said it'd be done by 510. Welp 515 rolls around and no car. He calls over to the mechanics and their approach seems to be benign neglect aka ignore. When the car FINALLY arrives IT WONT START!!! That's right! Worse off than we started. Gets driven back to mechanic who says it was due to newly replaced spark plugs and system needs to get familiarized with them or something. Well if you knew this was an issue WHY wouldn't you budget time for this? I work in the medical field and understand time lines can change but I always over estimate my time so patients can plan accordingly. I finally ended up with my car 1.5 hours after initially was told. Still love will but the rest of the process I could do without and that is why I will have my car serviced elsewhere. read more

Drove 4 hours to the dealership and spent an addition 3 there. Sales manager tried including items I didn't ask for. Then he tried tacking on a remote start system even though the car had it already, totaling over $1,000. Then tried to overcharge me for a license plate transfer. Then lied about dealership/car costs. Finally, there was no substantial amount of cash off that he would offer, meaning no bargaining. Nether the sales associate nor the sales manager would answer my questions about the tread left on the tires of the car, even after asking more than once. If you're smart and have done your research, stay away from this place. read more

I hate going to Ira Subaru Of Danvers, Stay far away from this dealership! I Purchased a brand new Subaru back in 2015, I left $1000 cash deposit, after final paperwork was completed, I drove my new car home and then looked at paperwork again, the $1000 deposit was not credited/deducted to the purchase price. I had to call and fight for my deposit back, this took almost a month to resolve. With this car I purchased their extended warrantee, which provides me warrantee repairs w/ zero deductible, every time, every car purchased over the years, I have to fight w/ advisors that #1 I have an extended warrantee and #2 I have zero deductible! I can see that I have the extended warrantee on your computer when they're writing up the work invoice!! I point this out to the advisor and they say...you have better eyes than me! not to mention that the car is still under manufacture's warrantee to begin with. This warrantee fight happens w/ every car I have purchased, I know it's my fault, it's my 5th Subaru so I know it's all on me for my continued stupidity for always purchasing a car at Ira Subaru of Danvers! While bringing in the car in for warrantee issues, I also took my other Subaru in for a quick look at, steering was becoming a problem, they had the car for almost 5 hours when they called me to let me know it needed a new drive belt w/ pulley for roughly $300 because belt was cracked but that wasn't the real issue, they also claimed that the transmission lines were leaking all over undercarriage and needed immediate attention at the price of $531 also head gaskets were leaking and also needed attention at the price of $1744. Stupid me almost had all the work done when the advisor claimed that if I didn't at least repair the leaky transmission lines that every time I braked I would be spurting transmission fluid, onto the cars behind me and ruining everyone's paint job! What? HUH? Then I remembered that this car was in an accident a couple of months ago and the frontend was badly damaged, I just got whole frontend repaired, surely they would have noticed the leaking transmission, right? Plus my garage doesn't have any transmission fluid or any fluid on the floor, right then I said never mind, I will just junk the car or trade in for something else it's just not worth the money to repair, the advisor kept saying it will be a darn shame for you to bring your car in for a trade in and the transmission dies on you for not repairing, I said I will just have to take that risk. I then took the car over to another dealership to get trade in value, told new dealership that I was told it had leaky transmission, they appraised the car, told me thank you for being honest w/ accident, etc and gave me a price and then said the transmission is not leaking, What? Huh? It isn't??? so then I took this "non-leaky transmission" to a mechanic in my neighborhood, left the car w/ him showing him the text of repairs needed from Ira Subaru Advisor, he called me an hour later stating I owe him $65.81 for a new drive belt, transmission dry as a bone, nothing loose nothing leaking and even tho Subaru is known for always having leaky head gaskets alas this car had no leaks anywhere. Every time I go for anything, sometimes just for an oil change, they tell me I need new tires, really, those tires only have 5K miles on them, you need a new air cabin filter, even show me a picture of a nasty cabin filter, really??? I just replaced that filter last week myself did it really get that dirty in a week sitting in my garage, you need new wipers, that's funny I just replaced those when I replaced the air cabin filter. I don't know why there's not some sort of expose on this dealership and their dirty dealings. I wasn't even going to post a review, I was just going to stop using Ira Subaru of Danvers but they just pulled the same crap on my mother-in law but sadly she ended up paying for these fake repairs and all she needed them to do was check the defrost (which she claims still isn't fixed) and ended up w/ new tires, new wipers, new air cabin filter, new brakes and she only has 20K miles. However, I do know that I will not be buying my sixth Subaru at Ira Subaru of Danvers and I just gave my mother-in-law the card for my new neighborhood mechanic. read more

We should have left when we went to buy our car and waited 30 minutes for a salesman despite having an appointment. The salesman we worked with was very knowledgable and helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us when we were looking for a used car. Unfortunately though, the dealership tags on an extra $600 "vehicle prep fee" that they refuse to waive or lower. They price their used cars 2K less than their competitors to lure you into the store and then hit you with fees that end up bringing the price back up to the same as everyone else. Obviously you will have to pay tax and RMV fees (usually around 1K) but their doc fee is much higher than their competitors, as well as their bs vehicle prep fee. Many other dealerships offer prep fees that are around $200 and often they will waive that fee or offer something in return to sweeten the deal. They didn't value customer satisfaction so we walked away from the car. Save yourself the time and the runaround and go to Subaru of Wakefield where they are more upfront about their price. read more

I recently purchase a car from Ira Subaru at Danvers. Usually I don't write a review often but this time I hope to leave a comment for a specific salesman I worked with, Ross Novak. As all we know, it is extremely hard to find a reliable car salesperson in US and thus the car buying is usually a painful, time-consuming process. I think I was lucky this time because I met Ross. He is very helpful in all sense. He gave me all the information for my new car, Forester 2014, but without pressure to buy it. Other car salespersons I have met before were very good at "persuading", but we all know that their words are typically too good to misguide the car buyer. Ross was different, provided the right information, and I could feel he was trying to help me to choose the right car for me. The only one reason I gave four star instead of five is not because of Ross, but due to the doc fee of Ira Subaru. I think Ira Subaru is a reliable car dealer as well based on the feelings I had during my visit, but their doc fee seems too high to me. The doc fee was $399, which is much higher than other dealers, even compared to Honda or Toyota. I don't know this is commont to Subaru dealers, though. Overall, I was satisfied with my car buying experience at Ira Subaru, especially with Ross. I already talked to my friends and students to contact him for their future purchase and of course I will make a business with him for my future purchase too. read more

I recently posted a car for sale and Freddy at IRA Subaru answered the ad from Craigslist. They ask me to bring the car by the dealership as they were interested in my used car. The car I was selling has a trade in value of $15,000 plus or minus $1000.00 according to KBB.COM. After being there for almost an hour for an appraisal they offered $8,000.00. So, my caution to all selling a car and going for an appraisal with IRA Subaru is don't waste your time as a 5 year old $28,000 Subaru when new and now with 60,000 miles is so devalued by them, I would shop for another automaker that retains their value. GOOD LUCK! read more

Absolutely awful. I'll never go back to this Subaru and here's why: I brought my car in on a Tuesday to get serviced and inspected. A couple minutes after leaving they call and tell me there's open recalls. I give them the okay to fix it because might as well while my cars there. My appointment was at 11:30 so by 3:30 I call to check in. They said it won't be ready till the next day. The next day comes and I have to call numerous times to check on my car. They said it'll be another day. This happened again the next day. On the third day I'm just annoyed because I'm waiting around all day waiting again for another call back to check on my car. They said "your advisor will call you back in a few minutes." Hours go by and I have to call myself. It was always "we're behind schedule" every time I called and wouldn't give me a proper update. I was told on the second day of my car being there that they were on the third and final recall and it was the last thing left they had to do. Finally got it by the third day and they tried to over charge me. They told me one of my recalls requires me to drive around to heat something up and bring back. Definitely not looking forward to that. read more

This was my first experience with a Subaru dealership. For the past 20 years I had been driving an Infinity. This. Absolutely one of the best experiences buying a car I have had in many years. The salesperson, Penny linatopi, was super friendly and certainly not supper aggressive in her manner. She went out of her way many times to make sure I understood certain specifics and always was comfortable. I was with my brother for support because I have had bad experiences with pressure sales people. My brother is a retired executive negotiator for a large local utility. He told me on the way home that he was very impressed with Penny's methods especially getting down to specifics. Of course, I purchased the car, a red 2019 Legacy. I have only had it 2 days and I love it and because Penny was so thorough walking me through the details and the wonderful safety features, I feel like I know this car. I certainly would Recommend the Subaru dealership in Danvers and especially Penny linatopi. To any and all my friends who are shopping for a car. read more

I had a very good experience leasing a 2014 Impreza from Ira Subaru. The salesperson Eduard took very good care of us and made sure that we got a vehicle that fit our needs in terms of trim level & options. Ira Subaru was very fair throughout the whole process - they were the only dealership willing to give me KBB trade-in value for my previous vehicle instead of the lower wholesale value 4 other dealerships attempted to give me, they accommodated my need for a no-money-down lease, and they were able to keep the payments in my range. I'm pleased with the overall experience and would certainly recommend them to friends. read more

This review is for the service department. Misleading coupons online, make sure that if you speak to someone and they quote you a price over the phone, get the name of the person you spoke to, because when you show up for service the prices change, not in your favor. Waste of my time. read more

Update: The sales manager left a message here asking me to call him to fix the situation. He claimed the number he provided was his direct line. It is not a direct line, I waited 20 minutes on hold to get through to his voice mail. Left a message never heard back. Meanwhile Steve Madeiras still hasn't mailed the outstanding service records on this car. Not only are these guys dishonest, but they appear to be extremely lazy. Don't waste your time with them. read more

This review is on my wifes behalf. She brought her Subaru, purchased at the same dealership, to the service department, for the 2nd time due to a loud noise coming from the breaks. The service person that helped her was great, but they didn't hear the noise anymore. Now this could be b/c they removed the tires, maybe it was dirt, or something. She was told by the service person that they didn't hear the noise, but he wanted her to speak with his Service Manager about it. So he takes my wife into the Service Manager's office, someone else is in there being spoken to, awkward. So my wife has a seat, and when it was her turn to be spoken to, the Service Manager tells her "I'm not even sure why you're here. Why are you here?" My wife explains the situation, and that it's happened once before and it's starting to happen again, and she didn't want tohave to take another day out of her work schedule to come in for a car appointment that should have already been handled. The service agent said they didn't hear a noise, but would be happy to go out with her for a drive to see if it happens while they were with her. The service manager turns to her and says "Would that make you happy?". Never once apologized for her time, etc. I told her she should ask if her warranty and her business were good at other Subaru delaers, because she wouldn't be going back to them. Sounds like they needs bit of a lesson on manners if someone isn't a guy standing in front of them. Maybe some professional training on how to interact with customers, would be a good start. IF it asn't for the one helpful person, this would be a 1 star rating. read more

Very irresponsible repair service, they damaged the body of my car and didn't fix the mechanical problem that I had brought it in for then wanted to charge for other repair not mentioned in the initial diagnostic. Then the manager doesn't answer or return calls. They'll rip you off! read more

Our family has purchased 3 vehicles from Ira Toyota in the past 20 years 2 of which were in the past 5 years ( we live near the NH border). We had a good experience. I was now looking for a crossover so looked at Subaru's. I had been shopping on line and had a general idea of price. I stopped into Ira Subaru on a Sunday as I was in the area. I found a car I liked. I asked if they could do anything to discount the price. The salesperson disappeared for about 20 minutes. When he returned he said "just for you and if you buy it today we will give it to you the car for $_____." I agreed to buy the car. I told the salesperson that I did not need financing I will get it through my credit union. I signed the sales agreement . I thought that is all I had to do. The salesperson kept walking away, asking questions of the manager, coming back apologizing. After almost 40 minutes I said I needed to go and I did not understand what else I needed to do. He said " we are just waiting for you to talk to our business and finance associate". I reminded him the I am NOT financing with them and I was leaving now. When I got home I pulled up the car on the IRA Subaru website to show my husband ( I didn't check their website before going to see them as I went in on a whim). I found the car I purchased was in fact sold to me NOT at "a special price" but at the advertised price. I tried to reach my salesperson because I felt he was dishonest and took advantage of me. I had not been given any discount. My sales person was also a student (good for him) bad for me was unreachable. Several calls, and finally a joint email to the salesperson and the manager resulted in a phone call from the sales person. "In good faith" he agreed to drop the price $100.00." When we went to pick up the car 5 days later...we were told they could not sell it to us because they did not yet have the title. We would have to wait for it to come in. 10 days later my husband (who was buying the car for me) went to sign the papers...the $100.00 discount did not transfer to the purchase and sales with my husbands name on it. Then about 3 weeks after I got the car it wouldn't start. I thought I must have left a light on. It has happened 4 more times in the 3 months I have had the car. Despite making sure that everything is off when I turn off the car. I had my neighbor (a mechanic) look at the car when I could not start it first thing Monday morning this week. He was shocked to find there was NO antifreeze in the reservoir and he did not see any when he took the cap off the radiator. I am finally going in for service tomorrow. The service department stated the battery if it needs to be replaced, is not under warranty that it is like light bulbs and needs to be replaced when it dies (it will cost about $200.00). I have had cars for 30 years and only replaced batteries 2 times in old junkers. I would not expect to replace the battery in a 2015 Subaru that is Cerified Pre Owned and only in my possession for about 3 1/2 months. Not to mention the issue started about 3 weeks after I had it. I kept blaming it on the very cold weather. When I questioned the service woman further, she did say if my alternator needs to be replaced it is covered. I may cancel the appointment and take it somewhere else. read more

I purchased a new car in June 2016, the buying process was excellent. However, I have needed parts twice and each time the parts department has been terrible. Last week I searched for an item, could not find the part, and a Chat box opened up. I entered the item I needed, my name and email. 3 days later I got an email to schedule a test drive of a new car. This is the 2nd time this happened. I called the dealership, asked to speak to the manager, left my name and number and was told he would call back. Nothing. I love my car but regret buying from this location. read more

Terrible experience. Couldn't understand the sales man, who was rushing me to buy a used car. When I asked to test drive a car. He told me all the dealers plates were on other cars, and if I could drive it around in the parking lot. WTF! I'm a woman, and not a fool. Stupid guy! i told him find a plate. Take it for a test drive. Get Back to the dealer. I liked it. But want to have my mechanic check it out first. He said the mechanic has to come to the dealership to look the car over. WTF again. I walked out, half way home he calls. Tells me, "hurry up back before someone buys the car." Yeah right. Manager even called me. They are a bunch of idiots. Glad I never went back. Never will. read more

If there was an option to have zero stars that is what I would give Ira Subaru. I purchased my pre-owned vehicle less than a year ago and a MAJOR repair has come up that I found out failed their inspection tests(with documentation to prove it) and yet they still sold me the vehicle. The service manager then proceeded to blame the issue on a worker who didn't understand English and their invoice system, neither of these are my issues. If you put a fail status on a major service repair and then sell that customer a car knowing the issue is present that is simply unethical. At no time has there been an attempt by Subaru to make the situation right. Unless you are getting a brand new car stay away from this place - worst experience I have ever had and I am making it my mission to tell everyone I know! read more

I received the refund check in the mail after speaking with the general manager.

Just stopped by to check out a 2016 WRX with Richard N. not even an hour ago. I told Richard I was here to just look at the car quickly and that I was in the early stages of buying a new vehicle. I am a recent college grad, working a full time job, and in the process of making my first solo car purchase. Upon entering the vehicle Richard let me inside to check out the interior and I got to ask him a couple questions I had about the CVT transmission, as many WRX's are standard. After a few minutes I then asked, "Would I able to take this for a test drive to see what it is like?" (I have never driven a subaru before and obviously want to see if I like how it drives/handles) To which Richard replied with, "Well is this something you're trying to do today???" To which I replied, "No, I am in the beginning stages and I am actually going to have my dad help walk the financial reigns with me (as I'm a little confused when it comes to financing, as I'm likely not going through a dealership for that), but he knows I'm out checking out cars." He then replied, "I think its better if your father was here see what he thinks" / "lets see if he thinks its a good idea for you to do so." Keep in mind I'm 24 years old! This is total age discrimination! I am very much capable of driving a car and making my own decisions. After hearing this I was totally set on the idea of not doing any potential business with Richard or Ira and taking my business elsewhere. Although I am in fact still in the beginning stages of car shopping, I will not recommend Ira Subaru to any of my friends or family in the future. To the Ira team, you should treat all customers the same regardless of their age/what you think they can afford. To be treated like this at 24 years old is embarrassing and to be honest is completely unfair. read more
