    Do you believe in serendipity? I was calling around late spring to get quotes for a contact lens exam because my sis got me really nice designer sunglasses with one caveat- I have to finally get contact lens so that I can actually wear them! One of the first place I found on Yelp was IQ Laser Vision and I called inquiring about contact lens exam. The lady I spoke to was super nice and friendly- she told me they don't do contact lens exam because they are a laser eye service. (In hindsight, I really should read names carefully but I called places that are local and pops up at the top of my search lol). Instead of leaving it there and turning me away- she was super professional & good at her job because she said I can have a free consultation for Lasik just to have an alternative option. I had zero intention of doing Lasik because I just wanted some contact lens so I could rock my cool Gentle Monster specs. I reluctantly agreed and we set up a virtual consult. I did the consult but still was unsure about it so I put it off. Towards the end of summer I kept thinking about Lasik and how great it would be to not be reliant on any vision correction accessories anymore and doing Lasik would eliminate all that. I called IQ Laser Vision back to schedule my eye exam and to determine if I am a fitting candidate for the procedure. My sister insisted I call several other places to shop around and get a quote as well so I did. I ended up going to 3 other places. Out of all 4 places that I went to, IQLV hands down had one of the most attentive, caring, friendly and profession staff/team. They have some amazing and modern machines that simplify the exam process whereas other places took a more invasive approach with older techniques. The process from scheduling appointments to doing examination and doctor + quote consultation was so seamless. Everyone I interacted with took their time to explain things thoroughly and answered all my questions. At the end of the day, I felt going with the SMILE procedure was the best option for me. Although it is the most expensive option, it is utilizing a new, modern and less invasive technique with a quicker recovery time. They really work with you on pricing and payment plans so make sure to inquire in detail on what best suits your needs and capabilities. I paid for mine up front because I am able to and you can save a little more money by doing so as well. You can also save some money by letting them know I referred you. Trust me, it'll help :) I am not going to go into all the visit process details because you can read that from other people's review or even just Google it. The procedure was a lot faster than I expected. I barely felt a thing. The doctor was so soothing, talking me through every action she made and before I knew it, I was done. You will have slightly blurry vision and lots of haziness right away and even the day or two after and maybe even a week (depends on the individual), but trust me, don't freak out. It is part of it and it gradually clears up! I know that going in but of course I still panicked a little and guess what? It cleared up in about 1.5-2 weeks. I had my 2-day post-op follow up, then 1 week, then 6 weeks follow-up just last week. My vision is great and I am officially off the artificial tears tight regimen but I still like using it to moisturize my eyes here and there as needed. Doctor Nguyen who oversees my examination and post-op visits discovered I had a freckle in the back of my left eye and recommended I go see a retina specialist. I went to one and turns out it is normal and safe, nothing cancerous but they will monitor it. When examining my eyes, he complimented the procedure and said whoever performed my laser eye surgery did a very clean and thorough job and that it looks good. To hear a third party doctor who has no affiliation with IQLV say that affirm my belief of a successful procedure. This is one of the best decisions I've made in my life tbh. After about 20 years of wearing glasses every single day, I am really enjoying the freedom of not being reliant on any vision correcting accessories. Plus I get to rock cool designer sunglasses! I do experience phantom glasses adjustment where I'll try to push my glasses closer to my eyes in some random circumstances but then remember I don't wear them anymore lol. The mind is going to need a few months to adjust to this for sure. I absolutely would recommend IQLV to anyone looking to have a better quality of life without glasses/contact lens. They have several locations and the best staff so you will be in good hands!

    Excellent customer service with the best possible staff!!! I was going to wait until I could give their City of Industry location my 450th review (was planning on making it my 500th, but that'd be wayyyyyyyyy too long more than likely lol), and then write up a review for this one too, but they've blown me away with such friendly attitude every time, and great service. It wouldn't be fair for me to wait that long. I had my consultation and surgery at City of Industry by Dr. Lin, but both of my 1 day and 1ish week follow up have been here, so it's only right :). The staff split their schedule between this location and their City of Industry location. I'm not sure if Dr. Lin performs surgery here too or not, but 2 of my follow ups, plus immediate hours after post-op (at City of Industry) have been with Dr. Nguyen. Being able to come here for my follow ups has been a huge help. It's much closer to LAX (for out of town-ers like myself), and with the crazy traffic LA gets everyday, not having to drive to City of Industry has saved me a lot of time and gas (plus aggravation :D) lol. They do everything super efficient. I've always shown up at least 15-30mins earlier than my actual appointment every time. Not once did I have to wait longer than 10mins to be seen. It's been just 9 days since I had my surgeries (SMILE on one eye, and ICL on the other), but I can already see better than when I had my contacts or glasses. Still some halos and glares from lights at night on my ICL eye, but that's completely normal and expected. I wish I was wolverine that can heal immediately, but 9 days to be 90-95% already? I'll take it! Happily and gratefully! I'll save all the details of the actual surgeries/consultation for the other location. Bottom line, if you're blind as a bat with some serious prescription, been told lasik is not an option for you anymore (I was told that by 2 different places in Texas), look no further and just come to IQ Laser Vision! The second best decision I have made, only after my decision of choosing my other half ;). I'm still amazed everyday when I wake up and can see clearly right away without reaching for my glasses, or whenever I can see small words in the distance and realize I'm not wearing any contacts or glasses! I'll forever be thankful for Dr. Lin, Dr. Nguyen, and all the amazing staff from IQ Laser Vision!

    **I DID NOT GET LASIK HERE** REVIEW is for the service I received during my consult. The staff was extremely polite, kind and thorough during the examination process. The consultation is FREE too. They are very cautious and have many COVID protocols in place. The office is bit outdated but just know this is a 'drop-in' center for consultation. The actual LASIK center is in LA and I don't know what the Surgery location space looks like. Consult: At the end of the consult you end up speaking with the office manager who provides recommendations on what kind of LASIK you should do. I didn't realize at the time, but it's pretty important to speak with the eye surgeon. I found it to be odd because the other 4 LASIK centers I visited after this establishment had a surgeon who would go over their recommendations. This was the only location where you didn't speak with the actual surgeon. This was the biggest drawback for me. It was a norm at the other offices to speak with the surgeon who would be performing the LASIK. Despite this, the staff was incredibly kind, accommodating and very helpful. Happy 20/20 8)

I take elderly…read morefamily members here and this is one of the most unprofessional and SLOW medical offices ever. Having an appointment is absolutely pointless because even if you show up early/on time, you'll likely be in there for over an hour after your initial appointment time; honestly probably even longer. I've sat in the office waiting for my family members for 3+ HOURS (mind you, this was WITH an appointment!) and got so fed up and had to ask what the heck was happening. Why have an appointment if we have to wait that long? Make it make sense. It looks like they overbook appointments per day to squeeze in as many people as possible, but this doesn't do anything except create extremely long wait times. I once talked to someone else in the waiting room who was taking his elderly mom to an appointment and he expressed frustrations of how something went wrong the day of, and so they made them return the next day to wait EVEN LONGER to be seen by the doctor. If anyone has a visit here, you'll likely be there all day, so plan accordingly. Or better yet - avoid all together! The front desk staff is also unprofessional. I speak Vietnamese, but even then they are snarky, rude, and have no consideration for anyone's time. The younger staff are usually a bit nicer, but the older middle aged ladies that sometimes work the front desk are so snarky for no reason. While I can't speak on the care received since I wasn't a patient myself, my family members have expressed extreme frustration with this doctor and his staff. The long wait makes it extremely frustrating. The staff will usually call before and morning of the appointment to remind the patient but they borderline HOUND patients and are like "you better come to your appointment!" - only to show up and have to wait for OVER 3 HOURS. Make it make sense. They need to reevaluate and reorganize what they do here because I can almost guarantee you, their patients all think the same thing. Avoid unless you absolutely cannot do so.

We were so lucky that we happened to call Aquity Eye Group, because we soon got a call back from Dr. Elizabeth Du. She was compassionate, and so helpful, that she agreed to meet us at her office in 30 minutes! She was very professional, quickly determined that there was no detached retina, and was able to fully advise us on next steps. I have a full voicemail I'm happy to publish on here for the world to listen to, since I have nothing to hide. 1) We track our appointments electronically. On the particular day this review was posted, we had 43 appointments. Every day is different, but on this day, the average time these patients waited to be called from the reception area was 5.3 minutes, starting from their appointment time. The longest wait was 23 minutes. These 43 patients had an average appointment duration of 69 minutes, meaning that, on average, they were done a little over one hour after their appointment time. That's great to cite averages but that's not the case here. As I mentioned - we waited 1.5 hours. But the provider made it a point to say it wasn't a long time and did she really think it was that long - extreme gaslight behavior. Anybody who doesn't think a wait time of 1.5 hours at a Dr.'s office lives in a dystopian world. We have lives and things to do, not wait around for a doctor who doesn't have their scheduling figured out after 20 years in business. There is a big difference between an appointment that "takes" one hour versus a patient who "waited" for one hour. On average, our appointments take 1-1.5 hours. This is because the appointment involves many components, such as updating the medical history, conducting tests, reviewing surgery instructions, waiting for dilation drops to take effect, and, finally, meeting the doctor. Unfortunately, some patients consider the time they see the doctor as the start of the appointment, discounting all the previous components that our staff had to complete in order for the doctor to perform his/her portion. My mother has had all these events happen in previous visits. They've never accounted for 1.5 hours. In fact if you want the truth, we were told by the front desk staff once we inquired why the wait was so long - they said it was because they had to have other people go ahead of us because of "emergencies". Not our problem. If you read other reviews, the long wait times are not an uncommon occurrence for this provider. 2) If a patient complains that they have waited long, we check the electronic tracking data to identify the cause of the delay and make improvements for the future. Sometimes, the tracking data reveal that the patient has misjudged or exaggerated the actual time they waited. My mother did say it was two hours and as I stated in my review - I corrected the provider by telling him it was actually 1.5 hours and that's still a long time to wait for an appointment. Have the decency to admit your deficiency instead of trying to gaslight or lie your way through a review response. 3) As with any business that cares about its clients, if we receive negative feedback about a patient experience, we try to reach out to the patient to address their concerns. If the feedback was made in a public forum (e.g., Yelp/Google) supposedly on their behalf, we obviously need to inform the patient what the feedback stated in order to have that discussion. Yes you certainly reached out - not to address the patient's concern, but as a point of trying to embarrass my mother. It's clear as day - nobody in their right mind would ever consider your behavior a follow up, and considering it was after hours and around 7:30pm at night, past dinner time at the house. You failed to disengaged when asked politely, to not call here and hang up - at least 20 times. Most people have the intelligence to apologize and leave when asked, not to continue to harass families like this guy. 4) We treat all patients with respect, courtesy, and honesty, and we are fortunate that most patients treat us the same. Many of our patients stay with us long term (often over 15-20 years) and refer their family and friends to our office. You clearly don't treat all patients with respect, as you demonstrated both in your "in office" behavior and "out of office" behavior. Nice try diddy.

I couldn't believe the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism he displayed. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone seeking quality medical care. In addition, there was a lack of post-care information provided by the staff and doctor. It is crucial for patients to receive clear instructions and guidance on how to take care of themselves after a medical procedure. We were concerned as this was his first time and wanted to take the proper measures to keep his eyes healthy. After he was done, we were ushered out as they were closing soon. Again, we asked the receptionist if there were any medications he had to take or care treatment he had to do. They just informed us that they had faxed it to our pharmacy and they would let us know the details. We went to the pharmacy the following day and they didn't receive anything.. There was a back and forth and neither side took the blame. Overall, a bad experience
