Unless you absolutely HAVE to come here, I would suggest avoiding at all costs. I take elderly family members here and this is one of the most unprofessional and SLOW medical offices ever. Having an appointment is absolutely pointless because even if you show up early/on time, you'll likely be in there for over an hour after your initial appointment time; honestly probably even longer. I've sat in the office waiting for my family members for 3+ HOURS (mind you, this was WITH an appointment!) and got so fed up and had to ask what the heck was happening. Why have an appointment if we have to wait that long? Make it make sense. It looks like they overbook appointments per day to squeeze in as many people as possible, but this doesn't do anything except create extremely long wait times. I once talked to someone else in the waiting room who was taking his elderly mom to an appointment and he expressed frustrations of how something went wrong the day of, and so they made them return the next day to wait EVEN LONGER to be seen by the doctor. If anyone has a visit here, you'll likely be there all day, so plan accordingly. Or better yet - avoid all together! The front desk staff is also unprofessional. I speak Vietnamese, but even then they are snarky, rude, and have no consideration for anyone's time. The younger staff are usually a bit nicer, but the older middle aged ladies that sometimes work the front desk are so snarky for no reason. While I can't speak on the care received since I wasn't a patient myself, my family members have expressed extreme frustration with this doctor and his staff. The long wait makes it extremely frustrating. The staff will usually call before and morning of the appointment to remind the patient but they borderline HOUND patients and are like "you better come to your appointment!" - only to show up and have to wait for OVER 3 HOURS. Make it make sense. They need to reevaluate and reorganize what they do here because I can almost guarantee you, their patients all think the same thing. This office caused my mother significant emotional distress, and I would not recommend it--especially for patients who do not speak English fluently. My mother had been a patient here before and returned for an appointment after receiving an authorization and reminder from this office. She was following referrals from her primary doctor and specialists, including UCI. During the visit, her eyes were dilated without a clear explanation, and she left confused and upset. When I later called the office to ask a simple question about why her eyes were dilated and to understand her care, the doctor raised his voice, was dismissive, and said that "no one is going to be able to cure her symptoms" and that "there is nothing wrong with her." The tone was hostile and unnecessary. My mother does not speak English well and instead of being treated with patience or respect, she was made to feel incompetent. She left the appointment crying. The doctor also seemed upset that she had gone to UCI for a second opinion and accused us of "going back and forth," even though his own office initiated the appointment. Patients have the right to seek second opinions and to ask questions without being yelled at or shamed. This experience felt retaliatory, unprofessional, and deeply upsetting for our family. If you or your loved ones value respectful communication--especially if there is a language barrier--I would strongly urge you to consider another provider. Cuando llamé posteriormente para preguntar de manera tranquila por qué le habían dilatado los ojos y para entender mejor su atención, el doctor levantó la voz, fue despectivo y dijo que "nadie iba a poder curar sus síntomas" y que "no tenía nada". El tono fue hostil e innecesario. Mi madre no habla inglés bien y, en lugar de recibir paciencia o respeto, fue tratada de una manera que la hizo sentir incompetente. Salió de la cita llorando. Además, el doctor parecía molesto porque ella había buscado una segunda opinión en UCI y nos acusó de "ir de doctor en doctor", a pesar de que la cita fue iniciada por su propia oficina. This guy is very unprofessional, likely incompetent. He claimed I had all kinds of eye problems, never explained clearly the conditions or problems with my eyes, made me come in every month for eye exams, his assistants did many measurements with instruments, each time waiting hours among dozens old Medicare patients sitting, waiting all day in his office. My new Ophthalmologist examined and said my eyes had no problems, only need exams every year or 2 years. He asked who my last doctor was. My mother went to this clinic for the second time, when she arrived Doctor -Cuong -Dung Do, asked her if she had put in her eye drops, she answered as best she could because she doesn't speak English. When the doctor saw that she didn't put in the correct eye drops, he immediately started yelling at her at the top of his lungs, which made my mother scared. Right before the doctor began speaking to my mom, she called me so that I could translate English to Spanish, so I heard him yelling through the phone, which was very disturbing to me. I don't think the doctor was aware that I was listening over the phone and I heard him tell my mom... that if she doesn't start listening to his directions about putting in the correct eye drops, he was going to refuse to be her doctor. I believe at this point, he knew that I was on the phone listening and he told me to tell her about a simple eye laser surgery that he can schedule her to do it in a couple of weeks, I translated what he said to my mom and she was a little apprehensive about if she wanted to except the surgery, so we discussed it for approximately 1 or 2 minutes, and within that time he started to go ballistic because he felt that we were wasting his time, so he started yelling, not only at my mom, but also at me. At this point, I'm still trying to be professional and kind because we need his help, but he seems to be maximum unprofessional and belligerent. I don't want to sound judgmental, but I think this man was a racist, or at the very least he didn't like people that spoke Spanish. He eventually got so frustrated that he started banging his hands on the table, and started yelling like a tyrant telling us that he's getting tired of us wasting his time. My mother was so scared, she just left the doctor with her eye issue unresolved and was very emotionally distressed, simply because she didn't speak English. I would've thought the doctor would have more empathy for people who don't speak English, considering he didn't speak English to good himself. All in all, I'm asking for Doctor to be terminated or removed . He's an unprofessional tyrant that will continue to cause emotional distress to his patient. read more

They take very long. The waiting room is full of patient. The staff are helpful. Although not efficient. They should give new patient the forms right away so while they are waiting they can fill them out. My mom is a new patient and we sat in the waiting room for 20 mins and they called her up to ask her to fill her forms. If you are on a time crunch i suggest you plan accordingly. If you are a new patient ask for the forms right away. The waiting room is okay. Not enough chairs for everyone. Some ppl have to stand by the door which is a fire hazard. The worst service in my life. I booked an appointment last month. Then two days ago was my appointment for taking exam eyes to see if I can do the laser. First I don't feel welcome at all. All staff there staring at me while they walking around the office. I had to speak up that I had an appointment from last month. One woman took my information and told me to wait. Receptionists are extremely rude. I had an unpleasant experience with them while still in the office waiting for my grandma. Not even 20 minutes later, I called to request them to send her prescription to a different pharmacy since the one we usually go to was closed. Long wait, as expected (so go earlier if you have the time, then you'll be out faster). The waiting room actually gets crowded. Important note: call the office BEFORE going and make sure everything is good to go with scheduling and especially insurance. So your visit there won't be in vain. What do you think about this S. Md? The story happened to me in Jan 9, 2021. I had appointment to do checkup after the right eye surgery for cataract about two weeks earlier. I was admissed to the patient room after passed all the COVID ' regulations required at front desk. While I was waiting, I had a phone call so I pulled down my mask to talk. At that time, Cuong Md coated in and yell that I didn't wear mask then he stepped back out. I hurried to pull my mask up and thought he was waiting outside. But I waited for about 5' and stilled of that guy. Then I went to ask and learned that he went to visit the other patient? So I stated "What kind of this doctor he is?", he heard this and let me wait for around 1 hr then came back. His first voice was " If I don't like, I can get out because I don't wear mask". I stood up and said "I Had admission to this room that mean I did wear mask. And if I don't have mask, you should give me one. You are disgracing you title.". Then I left. During COVID, my mom came in to check-in, then waited in the car because there were no seats available. The seats were spaced 3 ft apart, and there were over 15 patients in the room. After 10 minutes, staff called her in just to take temperature and sanitize hands. Waited 30 minutes to be asked medical history, went back out, waited another 10 to get eyes checked with Dr. Pham, who we were NOT fan of. All she said was that my mom's condition was not bad to the point of requiring surgery, no time for explanation, even though we waited 50 min. If you have ever taken your mom or dad to the office, you would figure out that Dr. Do targeted on senior Vietnamese patients, who feel more comfortable with doctors speaking their own language. My parents were not exception! My dad appointment was at 3:00 pm, and he ended going home at 5:30 pm. It took the technician about 30 mins for vision tests. Dr. Do examined my Dad for 15 mins. Recently I and my dad visited this ophthalmologist' s office. Here are what I found: - Waiting for at least a couple hour and up. Even though you had an appointment !!! - lots of clients were waiting and packing in a small room, they put chairs in any empty space if they could for clients sitting and waiting... - the hygiene of restroom is below public health requirement, somehow dirty!!! - Most importance is: the optometrist who provides initial assessments before clients see the ophthalmologist- DR.Do, she DID NOT have gloves on while touching clients' eyes to instill eye drops, she DID NOT wash hands either after doing assessment. The tip of the eye drop bottle was not wiped with alcohol swapt after each use. Very poor communication skill to elderly: bossy and commanding. - Lacks of infection control as well as prevention to infection at the health care clinique. As evidence, some employees did not sanitize the device that client rest their chin and forehead for eye assessment after each done. Who should come back to such a clinique? YOU JUST! read more

I don't have to say much about this Dr. and his office. Other reviews tell us all about him: $$$$. 1. Like other patients, on my first visit with him he told me that I had glaucoma. I just had my checkup with an ophthalmologist and he confirmed that I DO NOT have glaucoma; I do have cataracts. 2. This office always double books or even triple books; the wait-time is about 45 minutes with an appointment. 3. I came in for a checkup, then asked for a prescription for glasses. They told me I had to an extra $40 for this service. What on earth! read more
