1st time for me tonight. Great place for people who like to fully enjoy their movie experience. No crying kids, no teenagers being loud or on their cell phone checking their FB status every second. Great service, great food. Very comfortable. This would be 5 star plus! But there is always in idiot who kills it. Some stupid girl talking the entire movie. Very inconsiderate stupid people. Why don't people get it. Movies are to focus 100% on what you are watching not to be on your cell or chatting up a storm disturbing others who paid $24 p person to hear their stupid conversations. This is why people get shot in the theatre. Their I don't care attitude is what pisses people off. iPic Management - You should consider a strict policy on no talking during movie and a cell phone taken away before you walk in. I'd give this theater five stars for a pure cinema going experience. The only thing that lets the place down is the service and food. I've given up ordering from the expensive menu which delivers food that hovers just below mediocre. The last straw came on our last visit. We decided to stick with drinks and ordered two cocktails that were about $12 a piece. It took more than half an hour for them to arrive and only after I asked a server what was going on. When they did arrive they're clearly been sitting on the bar for ages. I asked them redo my drink and they clearly just shoved in a spoonful of ice and gave it back to me. Beer and wine only from now on. But great movie going experience otherwise. read more

I am a movie theater snob. I discard my philosophy of strict convenience when it comes to my movie experiences. I will shun my proletariat nature and exhibit every despised characteristic of the bourgeoisie for an outing at an elitist movie theater. I will travel clear across the country to satisfy the need that burns like a hard addiction (sort of). While in lovely Los Angeles for my monthly rendezvous with the Mediterranean climate I adore I made it a point to venture to Pasadena for a date with Gold Class Cinemas. Up to this point when it came to theaters I have been an Arclight man. What's not to love? Reserved seating, select showings restricted to people 21+, 2 bars, digital screens, great audio, and an audience often intermixed with the very geeks that work behind the scenes to make the movies come to life. Toss in the occasional meet and greets with Directors and talent, as well as film retrospectives and it adds up to nirvana for a man like myself. Until this weekend, nothing could compare. Things have changed. I am here to say that I've seen the Promised Land. GCC is more akin to a private Executive screening room on a big studio lot. Seating is limited to about 22 persons per theater. The seats offer full recline with footrests and storage for anything you could have possible been carrying. Pillows and blankets will dare you to not catch a few winks. The staff includes lovelies that are built to strip but have not yet worked up the nerve, the kind of girls a big shot exec might invite for a private casting session. The lobby is straight out of an upscale lounge. Full bar and the best wine and food menu I have encountered in any theater round out the amenities. Sure, nitpickers will say "it's so expensive" (please don't go), I've had better food in Michelin 3-star restaurants (you must be a snob), the staff wasn't that hot (too much time in the champagne room). Become a member and ticket prices are only $22. Reserve online and erase the threat of getting shut out. Skip the dinner elsewhere, everything you need is here. As for me, lobster spring rolls and a nice Sauvignon Blanc helped launch my 2 hour escape from reality. Fantastic picture and sound ensured I remained there and the attentive staff offered everything I needed short of a lewd act. For my fellow ATL'iens the next time you are at Fork and Screen in Buckhead squint your eyes and imagine if it were taken to the next level. We had tickets to Halloween at a viewing at 7 PM and the emplyee greeted us to our seats and 2 min before the viewing, after we had ordered our food and received our bottle of wine, we were told we've been placed in the wrong movie theater that we had to leave! I will never view the "Movie Theater" Experience the same again. To be honest, Gold Class has ruined it for me (In a VERY GOOD GOOD WAY!). Analogy: Imagine if the W Hotel and Cinemark Theaters had a baby ;) First of all, throw out all the preconceived notions of a weak / lame a*s "Movie Date Night", and strap rocket boosters to it with Arnold Schwarzenegger size biceps, and JLo booty. This is a serious luxury Movie experience comparatively...i.e.: Push a button in your reclining lounger to order food, drinks, or get a blanket + pillow kit to warm up. The staff is very personable and accommodating - of the dozens of movies we've seen here it's always been an excellent experience. *I wouldn't say this is a theater for teens or any riff raff - just serious Adult movie fans who want to have fun in a great clean, modern atmosphere. I am writing in disbelief of the lack of appropriate customer care and maintenance of this facility. I was referred to this theatre by my mother in law. She spoke very highly of the facility. She is a very difficult woman to impress so my husband and I decided to come here as our first date since having our first child. We NEEDED this outing. It HAS to be good if it even has these awesome reviews on Yelp right? WRONG. We came to an early screening of the Evil Dead. That was a major plus it being that the movie wasn't out until April 5th and we saw it on April 4 @ 10 pm. This is the ONLY reason I'm giving two stars. Upon arrival we were told by the host to wait since we were fifteen minutes early. We were seated in the lounge area and waited and waited and waited. If it wasn't for looking at our cell we wouldn't have realized that our film had started. We were never escorted into the theatre as the host said we would be. We walked in to the theatre and had to ask one of the servers where our seats where and were not told how to operate the recliners. I spent ten minutes trying to figure it out until I finally gave up. Not only that, but my seat was covered in crumbs and my husbands blanket had an unfavorable odor. I was also extremely disgusted in the women's room as well. As soon as I walked in it had a very bad odor. I mean it REAKED. The first stall I had opened had blood on the toilet seat so I automatically tried the stall in front and while flushing prior to using the toilet it exposed what looked to be a mildew ring. I was so disgusted I opted to not even use the restroom. Now usually I would never complain about a movie theatre but it being that we paid for the services, one as a consumer expects to have the quality provided that the establishment prides itself upon. If I would have known our visit would have been like this I would have gone to our closer theatre (AMC theaters) and would have paid half the price for the same sh*tty service. read more

Never expected anything like this place. I just so happened to talk to my sister in law about a cinema like this in Marina Del Rey. I started doing some research and noticed that ipic was WAY better than Marina Del Rey. The seats are further apart so you have some privacy in between other movie goers. That was a huge plus for me. We had drinks, an appetizer, dinner and desert! The place was a little pricey compared to a regular place, but that was expected, with the convenience of not having to get up in between the movie was certainly a plus. The hubbs loved this place. Go to date night spot! We did come on a Wednesday so the theater was not packed... Not sure how I feel coming to a place like this on the weekends. I'm sure it gets busy but during the week was super nice. The staff was courteous and polite. Our waiter didn't constantly come up asking us if we needed anything. We simply pressed the little button and he came out right away. I will certainly tell all my friends and family about this place! A gold star movie experience for everyone! read more

Your $29 ticket (cheaper for some other screenings) gets you all that and more. A little serving of popcorn and your own personal server await you to this truly first-class movie experience. You get a full menu of appetizers, entres, desserts, and even alcohol -- press a button and your server brings it to you. (Food costs extra, but think of it this way ... no restaurant reservation needed beforehand. Eat and watch a movie at the same time) You get to pick your seat ahead of time, so make sure to purchase your ticket online before you go. Alright, so let me preface this by saying that the only reason it gets one stars now is because of the new management it appears to be under. The rating needs to be brought down. I have been a customer since they first opened and the new management needs to start listening. Last year, Gold Class would have had a full 5 stars from me. Even after they pulled some nonsense about me not being able to take advantage of the 'birthday deal' ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY because it 'fell on a weekend'. (Lot's of fine print) But the new management is slowly managing to change things in negative ways. For example? Taking away the incentive to be a member in the first place. It used to mean a discount on tickets, now? You are forced into buying 'upgrades' by a now very poorly functioning website. (And I mean awful..) Frankly? I don't want to pay for popcorn they are calling 'complimentary' when what they HAVE done is tacked it on as part of this compulsary upgrade (News flash: If you have to do it it can't be called complimentary, that's like going to the airport and finding out you've been upgraded but you'll have to pay for said upgrade to even get on the plane. Sneaky) I go to Gold Class so that I can take advantage of their fab menu. If I wanted cheap popcorn and sweets? I'd go to a regular movie theatre. I understand a place 'has to make money' but honestly? Second, they are doing away with the special deals. I don't mind spending money, that's not even the issue, but they are taking things off the menu, and doing away with things just so they can make a quick buck. I'm assuming this is also the fault of the new management. Third? The staff. The last few times I've been served by some very rude staff -particularly at the front desk. Terrible manners. The actual servers in the theatre are great, but the reception leaves much to be desired. Overall, expect this once great place to go downhill over the next few months as the new management continues to poke at a once great idea. Well so I received the message from Karen of iPic's Business Customer Service immediately after I posted my chronicle of last time's experience. Then a week later iPic Pasadena's Local Marketing Manager Allison invited me to go back to give them another try. And this time they took my order right, and the food was excellent like last time. Seats were comfy and this time no 3d glasses were involved since I went to see Noah with my friend: and all of these resulted in one of the best film-viewing experiences I ever had in a cinema (sorry the best one was when I first saw True Lies in a theater that I do not even have any recollection), and I believe this was the experience that every folk has been talking about and it definitely deserves their price tag. For a theater that costs $50 per person (w/movie and food), we customers inevitably set the bar higher: as it was often the small details that made the differences in customers' experiences, when the stakes are higher, we customers are more likely to be unsatisfied when there was some deficiencies in those details. However, now I see iPic does care about their customers' feedbacks and they are able to polish these details right easily (unlike some other guys at Paseo who do not give a sixth letter of the alphabet about customers). I would definitely recommend my family members and friends to this location, and as a bruin I wish the Westwood location great success as well! read more

Every single time I go here....its perfect. Not much needed to be said. Kinda wish they had more food selection and better portion size for the price. Every there working is nice and helpful. The stock came out a few weeks ago and that was nice to get dibs pre-ipo. I like how they are changing to more comedy and magic shows. Got to experience the Valentines event and that was GREAT!!. I give this place a 3.5 so 4/5 star. On Saturday April 25th 10:45pm Furious 7 experience *Parking - you park across the street in the structure that costs $7 flat rate to park ( all day) *Theater - nestled away with a sign like a pub saying IPic. Had to ask a doorman where it was, no lights to expose the sign. *Check in - two men greeted my bf and I and asked for my full name, print the tickets and said two flights down. ( i am Purple member, free to sign up online unless you pay membership fees... that better waive the parking if i get it... yeah right) *We went down two flights of escalators which second flight down was stopped and i have a bad knee so it sucked.. no warnings or signs or it being Inoperable. Then at the bottom was the lounge/bar. Must say very nice and can be romantic. *walked into the theater and found our chairs, no one was there to tell us where to go, my bf found it himself. *service - like many said.. was not all that. We sat down at 10:47 pm. I flagged down a server and he said ours would be right with us... movie starts and i flagged him down again with a grin. He says " ma'am I'll come back and take your orders." 10 mins later our female server came. Apologized and then took our orders. *Food - popcorn was served 5 mins into the movie. And then our food came 10 mins after that! It was okay for what we paid, i mean $58 for two tickets, i ordered the trio burgers, bf had fajitas quesadilla, 2 diet cokes, and 2 sides of truffle fries and sweet potato fries.. the fries were the best part of the entire meal!! :) Chairs were clean and comfy, waitress checked up on us like 4 times after.. So it could of been 5 stars but the escalators inop and service took super long and probably longer if i hadn't flagged down the other server. I spent $7 for parking $58 on 2 tickets $58 on food and non alchy drinks $10 tip So my friends this romantic dinner and date cost me a whopping $133 bucks. Was it worth it? One time experience yes with a loved one. Will i do it again? My mom wants to watch Furious 7 so i want to take her.. but the service better be on point and those escalators inop or signs for being out of order. Ninja servers! ("Is he KNEELING?" I whisper to my husband, horrified and delighted.) Went as a crazy birthday thing, but I'm now a fan. Instead of going away for a couple of nights--That Darn Recession--we'll come here. Why is it worth it? It's really, really, really comfortable, for one thing. I'm a thrasher in movies, never comfortable, but here--mmm. SO comfortable. Even a pillow and a blanket, and big side storage things. Go a bit early and order in the lobby, then they'll bring you your food/drinks when you're seated. We over-ordered on the food (birthday thing), but here's what's worth it: those little hamburgers. (Not the onion ring, though. Had it been frozen?) Also very good: the cookie platter (well, the round shortbread/sand cookies alone--can we just get those, and the brownies?). Here's what's not worth it: those lettuce wrap things. Too bland, because there's nothing to dip them in to make them interesting. Weirdly, our ninja served us a big slab o' chocolate cake toward the end of the movie. I thought, "Wow! The computer knows it's my birthday!" And even though we were full, we each managed a bite. Imagine my surprise when we were billed $9 for the cake, and even more an invisible glass of milk! Milk??? (They had accidentally delivered the order to the wrong comotose people.) Moral: CHECK YOUR BILL. It wasn't deliberate, though, and they took care of it right away. (Also gave us the membership discount belatedly, which somehow hadn't registered when we bought tickets.) A very special experience! Gold Glass Cinemas is like no other theater in Los Angeles! It is a bit more expensive than other movie theaters, but for the perks they offer I think its a bargain. Here is the lowdown: about 30 bucks a ticket, then you go down the escalator where the theater offers its patrons a lounge that is fully equipt with a stocked bar and fun music. After someone escorts you to your theater, you will be seated in wide comfy chairs that recline comfortably. They also offer an area to place your purse, and blankets to make you feel more at home. Probably the most notable feature here is the in-movie dining. All you do is press a button on your seat and a waiter will quietly float down to your seat and take your order throughout the movie. I personally, don't care to eat throughout the movie...its too difficult to cut with a fork and knife in the dark...much easier to choose a food that you can use your fingers (popcorn, candy, etc). After paying for 2 movie tickets, drinks downstairs, and food throughout the movie...you are looking at a $100 to $150 dollar night for 2 people. As a result, I only go to Gold Class for movies that I want to make a special experience. Perfect for a date night or even for special occasions with the family....Gold Class Cinemas is not something you will soon forget.. I highly suggest you go at least once. read more

This is the ideal place to watch a movie if you want to impress that special person in that life, fore the fact they will treat you like a balla, seats are awesome and cozy and service is outstanding. Came here, with my special someone for tickets to see Looper. One problem, I bought the tickets for Friday night and it was Saturday. Silly Andre! So thinking that I had to buy tickets for another show, the attendant was able to use my confirmation number for another movie - here comes the boom. He just conferred with his supervisor and they were able to make the change with no extra fee. Inside you can chill on the couches and enjoy a drink of food, the waitresses were very cordial by taking our drinks with us to our seats and we were given complimentary popcorn and blankets as well. In the movie theater seats you can adjust and so comfy can make you go to sleep. Since they were so nice to me, I signed up to be a member and would totally go again. read more

I've been here 2 times. The first time was during New Year's Day. Wasn't able to get to the theater on time (despite leaving 3 hrs early) from Santa Monica, due to the Rose Parade. Not their fault, but we missed our show and they didn't let us get our money back, but we were only able to reschedule for show within the week. Pretty inflexible of them not to just let us have our money back or a credit, but whatever. Our first visit was OK. Ended up watching "It's Complicated" instead of what we wanted to watch "Avatar 3d". The food was OK and service was good. Good experience overall. THE SECOND TIME SUCKED. We came to watch the Book of Eli on MLK weekend. We went to the 10:30 am show. The theater was barely full, BUT, for some reason, it took 1 hour for us to get our drink and another 30 min on top of that to get the food. The waitress smelled like cigarettes and gave us a weird look and didn't say anything when she came to get our order. Weird. When we pushed the button for a server to get more food, no one came for the ENTIRE MOVIE! Ludicrous. Don't make sense paying so much for this experience and was just pissed off the whole time because no one came to do their job. I'll only come back to go with other people who have never been to a "high class" theater before. Other than that, I'll save the few extra bucks to watch at a regular theater. read more

Who doesn't like to sit in a reclining leather chair with a call button on the side? Unlike other movie theaters, you're not seated too close to other moviegoers so you can enjoy your space and privacy. If you have nothing to do on a Friday night and want to take that special person on a nice quiet date, I recommend coming here! Last time I was here I tried their cheese platter and other dishes but was not really impressed by it. At least I got free popcorn from them! 4.5* I love it here and always make a point to watch the blockbuster films here. This time was Avengers. First, parking is validated for only 3 hours - we went 40 minutes past and parking was $6. Boo~ One Colorado Parking entrance is on Union Street (one way) at the corner of Fair Oaks across The Container Store. Food: the flatbreads are good, the loaded potato chips are awesome with the chips made in house (so they say) and the fish and chips are tasty. I like the sliders but find them too expensive for those 3 teeny burgers. The truffle oil in the truffle fries gets overwhelming. Overall, I love getting to eat real food and drinking during a movie. Tip: order asap to get your food order in and out. I usually press the button as soon as I sit down. Blanket, pillow and complementary popcorn. Get ready to be comfortable and if you're like me, don't drink too much because you will get drowsy. Amazing theatre. I never want to go to an AMC or Harkins again after coming here. Though prices are quite expensive, you get a soft reclining chair, blanket, and free popcorn. My boyfriend and I ordered the truffle fries, sweet potato fries, and the sliders? (something like that) The fries were good, but the sliders were quite dry. It came with three, and I couldn't even finish one. Food was pricey, but nothing too outrageous. Great place for a date, but be prepared to drop around a bill if you plan on getting drinks and food. Service was great. Beautiful and attentive workers! Tip- It's smart to come a little early! You can enjoy the lounge area and grab an overpriced alcoholic drink :) read more

Overall I love this theater. Never over crowded, reserved seats that are roomy and comfy, large screens, great sounds, food, full bar, and super clean bathrooms! The waiters, and the rest of the staff are always very nice and helpful. But I'm not really into the female hostesses dressing sleazy. It makes me uncomfortable because there are usually families and I don't find it appropriate. I get it's supposed to have a "club feel". But I don't think it's very classy when your staffs dress code is "have your ass slightly hanging out". Screams "trash", not class. Last time I was here the ceiling decided to explode with water. Yeah no joke! The couple who was sitting there got up and left. No staff member did anything for about 5 minutes then finally some security guards came in and left a trashcan on it's side (seriously?!?) to not only NOT catch the water but make a really annoying loud noise till the end of the film. I wouldn't normally care because it's not their fault, but nobody said anything after the movie was done. Maybe a simple "sorry for the slight ceiling explosion". Instead I had to stop a staff member and ask what was going on. At least they were nice after I asked. Aside from those two things, I still like this place. It's cozy, fun, and a good place for a date. And I still absolutely plan on coming back! read more

I absolutely love the concept of IPIC and I was very excited to watch the second Hunger Games installment here. We parked at a nearby lot and walked over. I loved the ambiance and the chairs were extremely comfortable -- also super loved the fact that a blanket was provided. Our server was extremely attentive, she snuck through the theatre like a ninja! Free popcorn was provided which was a nice bonus The one drawback from the chairs is that the serving table for food is in between the two chairs so its impossible to snuggle with your boyfriend or get very close at all. I'm not sure there's any way to resolve this as the table needs to be in between for easy access for the food to be shared. One of the huge perks at IPIC is the ability to order from your seat at any point in the movie, no concession lines! I think we might have been far too adventurous with the food because it was a disappointment and we left it mostly uneaten. We ordered the calamari steaks -- the texture was a little too surprising -- normally calamari is light and fluffy and crunchy, these steaks were so dense and chewy, we barely ate 2-3 pieces. Our second food order was a shrimp flatbread. Wasn't sure what the expect but there were no shrimps on the flatbread at all -- it was more a shrimp sauce? Couldnt really taste the shrimp and it tasted weird Spent over $100, if we hadn't ordered all the food, it would have been a 4 star experience! read more

Ordered tickets online for 6 people and the online seat chart showed exactly 6 seats left in the front. The them of gold class is " there's no bad seat in the house" so we figured it would be ok. Omg when we got there not only were the seats waaaay too close to the screen but the seating chart online was different from the real theatre. And to make it worse the place was half empty. Very upsetting. Pro: -Seats are super big and recline. -There is a cabinet in the armrest where ladies can put aside their purses -For extra $11 you get a pillow, blanket and a bag of popcorn. All three couples agreed the popcorn was delicious -the food is delicious and perfectly sized so you don't fall asleep from a food coma. -if your phone rings you get kicked out ;) so no annoying neighbors - cool lounge to drink at before the movie -the chocolate martini Cons: - the workers there are nimrods. Four of us came early so we left two tickets at the front for the other couple with my name and theirs on it. The other couple literally came in 5 min after us and the front desk girls forgot! They asked stupid questions like what seat are you in...uh how would they know if the ticket was never in their hands. - they lead the first 4 into the theatre but the last two were sent to find the theatre on their own. Not cool considering it's 3 stories and confusing. - 4 of us were sitting together and the two on the right asked the server for a blanket. So I did too but she looked at me blankly and said your not part of my team, ask your own server. Geez I would hate to be her coworker. - the table for the food is tiny. Overall nice place to watch movie for adult groups due to the seat selections and upscale atmosphere. But service sucked. read more

So a couple weeks back, I was looking on Yelp for a car mechanic close to La Habra Heights and loved a review that Brian S had written for a mechanic in Fullerton, so was perusing his other reviews and followed some threads and tangents down several rabbit holes. One tangent was Brian's review for iPic Theaters in Pasadena. I was hooked. I signed up for free membership on the iPic website and purchased 2 seats (E5 & E6) for my magnificent other (i.e. my wife) and her girlfriend of choice (or she could take our adult daughter) to see a "chick flick" ---The Lone Ranger. Chick Flick? Err, ahh ---a Johnny Depp movie! My wife didn't get the specialness of the gift because I was too subtle as I wanted the experience to be a surprise, and she didn't call said girl-buddies. At the last minute our daughter also couldn't attend as she had to work Sunday, so I pinch-hit as the stand-in girlfriend going to the 2+ hour Johnny Depp film. But what a treat it was! Some up-front suggestions for 1st timers: --Sign up and become a member. Membership is free. Why not? Buy your tickets online! --By purchasing tickets online, you will not have any potential crisis where you would be forced to wait behind "walk-ins" in the lobby and you will assure yourself the exact seats you want - similar to the ArcLight and ArcLight Dome 21's assigned seating (but Arclight will seem to be a Ghetto theater after this experience). You also accrue points. I purchased two weekend tickets for $58 and now have 58 points. At 250 points I think you get a $25 gift card and a gift card that will be FUN to give away! --Theater 6 that we were in had 30 seats. I don't like to be right up front and prefer the middle-rear for easier viewing and better sound distribution. I picked next to rear --row E, but other reviews suggest C and D are excellent too. The wait staff is so well-trained, so discrete , dressed in all black (head-to-toe), such that their serving food and drink during the movie was not a distraction -at all-- a reason some reviewers suggested choosing rows more forward that E. --Show up early to the area. If you are not a Pasadena regular, this area of the city is like New York lite - people walk, window shop, eat ice cream and snacks while walking on Colorado and connecting streets and alleys, many restaurants and bars with indoor and street seating, and people watching is part of the experience. Jakes Burgers (since 1947) is across from the alley entrance on Colorado. The CheeseCake Factory is SW corner of Fair Oaks & Colorado. Sushi and other eateries are in the quad area by theater entrance (and on top of the underground theaters!) --Show up early to the theaters. You pay to gain access to the whole experience, so take advantage and plan a half hour or so to enjoy the experience of superb customer service and the unique and chic ambiance that awaits you to sit in the low-ceiling lounge or high-ceiling bar area for drinks and apps. --Do your research for parking if it's your first time. Street parking with meters and garages are available but different! I wanted shaded parking, and validated parking so I chose to park at the One Colorado Parking Garage, a multi-story parking facility at the SE corner of Union and Fair Oaks. Unfortunately, for us, we arrived at 3:10 for a 4:00 showing of a 2+ hour movie and our 3-Hour validation did not cover the 4 hours. That put a sour note on the otherwise exceptional experience! Why can't iPic negotiate an extra hour for their customer's validations ---even if they charged patrons $3 at the congeries' desk to offset the $6 fee for longer movies - iPic could add time without cutting into profits? Let's work together iPic! Eliminate a needless "sour note" at the end of an otherwise superb experience. --Choose a long movie, a blockbuster, or a 3-D movie. The time in this iPic theater is a treat like flying business or First Class - save 90 minute movies for sticky, kid-filled, coach seat theaters. --Dress up if you like. Many people seem to dress much better for an iPic experience, so why not? Dress fun. This is more a destination theater and there is a cross section of LA chic urban patrons in attendance. I came here for my birthday, which means I SHOULD get a free entry. But unfortunately having just discovered this place, I was informed this can only happen if I had purchased two tickets under my membership prior to my bday. Nonetheless, customer service was so helpful that they kept the 2 tix under my acct. then refunded my friends and gave me MY free ticket. We were then walked to our seats .... why, thank you ! Then given our blankets,pillow, and popcorn. I relaxed, ordered my meal (ice tea & tacos ... yummy) then kicked my feet up & enjoyed the movie. I normally purchase my AMC tix through Costco for a cheaper value ... I even have a STUBS card, but for a true movie experience .... I will skip the frugal for a real memory. read more

This place is a double edge sword....such a unique and fun experience, the problem being that now I HATE going to regular movie theaters! We now come here for special occasions instead of going out to dinner. Recently we saw "Rock of Ages" for my birthday with a group of friends. As we were enjoying cocktails in the lounge, the Sous Chef Zaz was walking around, making sure people were enjoying themselves. When she found out it was my birthday, she sent out a delicious appetizer for my friends and I to enjoy, along with a glass of Procecco. During the move, all of the menu items we ordered were delicious (the Short Rib flatbread was my favorite) and the friends I had brought who had never been there were very impressed. 2/3 of the way through the movie, Zaz brings out a slice of the Creme Brûlée Cheesecake with a candle! She went out of her way to make me feel special and truly left a lasting impression on all of us for her incredible service. The atmosphere, the service from the waitstaff and Zaz and the yummy food completely made us forget about the dumb (read: really bad) movie. I will be back soon. Also, for all of those people who have family visiting and you can never figure out what to do to entertain them, this movie theater is a great option. They don't have THIS in Wisconsin! First class all the way. Show up early to enjoy the lounge, it's got a great vibe. I've seen a few movies here and have no complaints. Yeah it's pricey but like anything in life you get what you pay for. So for a special experience wait for a movie you really want to enjoy, save up some $ and treat yourself (or someone special). I haven't had the food (frankly I'd rather eat at a restaurant table than in a recliner while trying to watch a movie) but drink service is a good option. OMG!!! I've been meaning to check this theater out but just could never get there. Then my friend called and said "lets go check it out". My wife and I said let's do it, so we joined them. A well dressed woman asked what movie we were going to and pointed to the elevator. We go down and wow! The theater was well lit, so we didn't have that adjust your eyes moment. We were escorted to our seats and OMG again. The seats were a reclining chaise, with storage for my wife's purse. On the seat was a pillow and blanket! My wife brought a sweater (even though it was 100' outside), because she gets cold at movies. She settled in and I placed the blanket over her (a happy wife equals a happy life). The menu was better than some restaurants I've been to. We ordered drinks and the movie started. It was like watching a movie in your living room! The next time I go, I'll go early so I can check out the bar and restaurants. The other thing I enjoyed was that there were no lines! We didn't have to search for two seats together, we didn't have to crawl over people in the dark. My experience was A++. I may never go to AMC again! read more

BEWARE OF THE PIZZA! I usually do not leave reviews but my fiancé and I just saw the new matrix movie here two days ago. We ordered fries and brussel sprouts which were okay and he got the pizza. They messed up his drink twice when he just ordered a simple gin and tonic. But that wasn't even the worst of it. At when we got home he was literally in the worst state you could imagine. He was vomiting non stop throughout the night and we are sure it was from the pizza he ate because he was feeling fine before that and ate nothing afterwards. He got the worst case of food poisoning I have ever seen! I used to love IPIC and I recommended we go because he had never been before but NEVER AGAIN. read more

The theatre felt like one of those secret gentlemen's club as it is located at the lowest floor. Yes, the seats were very comfortable and I liked the convenience of the bag compartment and the soft pillow and blanket. The food wasn't bad either but servers coming in and out of the movie house was rather distracting. It was difficult to just sit and relax because the server wanted us to settle our bill during the climax of the movie. The screen size was appropriate for the maximum capacity of about 30 viewers but there was nothing spectacular about its visual quality. read more

We received a giftcard and were excited to use it. We were not disappointed! We had a great time and it was better because we had a nice size giftcard. The theater was fab, big comfy seats (9 months prego) pillow and blanket. We went in the day, great choice if your not into crowds. The food and service was excellent! Thee only thing is, be ready to drop some cash! This place is quite expensive! Ill be back for special occasions but I could never justify spending that much every time we came to the movies. This place is good if you want pretty much no one in your theatre and huge comfy reclining seats. So why only the three stars? Eh, it's kind of pricey for what you get. You get free popcorn but the quality of the picture and sound are average. The overpriced food you can order is OK, about 3.5-star worthy. I've had the buffalo chicken wraps and nachos. Ok, so if you're willing to drop that kinda cash to sit in monsterly comfortable seats, then it's a good place to go. If not then.... I'd just sneak "gourmet" food into Arclight and call it a day. It's no secret that I'm a high-maintenance girl. I like nice hotels, I fly first class, and I feed my cat expensive kibble. This theater fits my needs perfectly -- I only wish it were closer. My boss decided to have movie day for the office here on Tuesday, so we made the trek from Costa Mesa to Pasadena and had a near-flawless experience from start to finish. The online reservations process worked great and we were taken downstairs, where we waited...and waited...and waited...for a server to take our cocktail order. By the time that happened, it was time for us to be seated inside, so I feel like we missed out a bit on the lounge experience. Once in the theater, though, I was just blown away by the huge comfy chairs, the neat armrest seating, and the teddy bear-soft blankets. Even the food surpassed my expectations -- the charcuterie plate was excellent and I loved my lil' Kobe beef sliders and mojitos. I thought the brownies were kinda dry and meh, but whatever, I have no sweet tooth so it really doesn't matter. As a side note, I thought the bathrooms were great. Elegantly mod, if that's possible, and stocked with mandarin-mint-scented soap AND lotion. Yay! And not that it really mattered, but the movie (It's Complicated) was LOL great. Somehow, I had never heard about this place before! Who knew Salt Lounge was a straight-up full bar & posh lounge underground in Old Town Pasadena. In the midst of the fancy modern decor with high seating which is my favorite kind of place for a drink, they even have a large screen showing sports, which makes it even a spot my husband will love. ;) We went to a wine tasting event we learned about from Christina, their wine distributor's representative who guides the wine tasting, at a Santa Anita Park wine tasting event a few days before. She, first of all, is absolutely amazing! I'm a wine amateur, but I try! She is so great at matching up the tastings so that you can learn to identify the subtle contrasts between grape varieties and methods of fermenting that make each bottle so different. They do this wine tasting the last Wednesday of the month for $10... Kind of a ridiculous deal for great tastings with light munchies in great company. They have happy hour until 7 PM weekdays with thematic drinks based on currently-showing movies - that's pretty creative for a bar, and its' cool that they're obviously constantly updating their drink menu! A good movie theatre has clean seats and none sticky floors. A great theatre gives you assigned seating along with the above. The best theatre has all of the above plus reclining seats, pillow and blanket, with a button you can press for service. Total fancy pantsy moment right when you walk into the bar/lounge area. Wanted to see a movie at iPic for months but every good movie is always sold out and can never get a decent showing time. I was finally able to see the movie I wanted at the time I wanted! I didn't know much about iPic; I just knew alcohol, good food and a movie?!?!? Where oh where do I sign up!?! But iPIc was more than just that... First of all you don't have to rush or go early. You might be thinking, why don't I just go to Arclight? Arclight, although fantastic as well, is like a typical theater outside of the reserved seating/restaurant/bar but doesn't have the rest of the accommodations as iPic. iPic stands alone and no other movie theater is like it. The bar, lounge, large TV screens and the theater with its' crystal clear screen is fantastic and unrivaled! This place is perfect for a date. First, when you walk in you are welcomed by a host. You then go downstairs to where you see a huge bar and multiple TVs and couches. Get your drink on, watch a game, and relax before your movie starts! After you and your date get your buzz on, head to your theater. This is where you will be taking your nap after you have a nice buzz from the drinks complimented by a pillow and blanket! They make it a little too comfortable because I literally wanted to sleep. As you walk into the theater you will see only about 50-60 seats unlike the hundreds at normal theater and every chair is positioned to an ideal angle towards the screen. The plush recliner chairs include a pillow, blanket and a in between a little table. On the table is a blue button which at every click a waitress/waiter pops up out of nowhere to take your drink, food, dessert or to even massage your feet (OK maybe the massage is a little exaggerated). The service was fantastic. Food, drinks and desserts were is very worthy, decent and easy to eat for a movie theater. It's not a gourmet restaurant but for a movie theater as close as it can get in my opinion. All in all it is the ideal theater but a little pricey and is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. $30/movie + food/drinks comes out pretty pricey but not bad to do once in a while especially if you get off work late and don't have time to go to a restaurant prior to a movie. Best time ever! We came here for a date today to see 'Date Night'. We had a few Bloody Marys in the Lobby and a couple of Holland IPA's during the film. Awesome! This place rules! I must say I was quite impressed! The ticket price is a bit much but you pay for experiences and you do get one here! Huge seats, super comfy that recline, nice hidden space for your purse and shoes in the armrest. Pillows and blankets if you need and free popcorn! I must say our service was great! not sure why others had issues. Our waiters brought us water without asking, cleared our plates right away and was quiet and discreet the whole time so as to not disturb the movie. Very nicely decorated, big bar and seating area to eat before you movie. Awesome! The food was really good too! We had the mahi mahi sliders as well as the filet mignon sliders with truffle fries. DELICIOUS! The filet melted in my mouth! and the toppings went perfect on the slider. The mahi was well cooked, nice spice with a touch of sweetness. The fries were hot, crunchy and full of flavor. The prices for the drinks were steep, $15 for half a glass of wine, eh. But the food was great! Anyway, great date night, spend the money, its a great experience. ALSO!
