First time here. Ordered takeout. It's a mom and pop place. Clean as a whistle. We walked in an hour before closing, there was 1 table of 3 adults. It took maybe 10 minutes for the crew to assemble our pho order for 4 people. Brought home our meal, and I'm warming up the broth before we sit down. The broth SMELLS amazing. I had to take a taste test and it's delicious!! It has that slight lip tackiness from a well developed, rich broth. The bean sprouts were so fresh! CRUNCH FACTOR! We ordered 2 with no meat, a #18, & a #20. Broth smells amaaaazing. The chicken pho in the takeout box looks DELICIOUS, it is breast meat and I'm a big fan of white meat, you've got my attention! My wife and I ordered one large and one medium pho. When I walked up to the counter to pay for the food, the server said the total. The total sounded a little off, and I asked if it was right, and she said she put 2 larges, so I started to kind of doubt their math. Just to check I pulled out my phone and calculated the total. ( FYI: they do not have a screen to check the itemized bill or an itemized receipt) I also noticed the tip percentage was calculated based on the after tax total as well, so I calculated the tip myself. The server seemed upset about fact that I was doing math in front of her. After I wrote down the tip and gave it to her, she yanked the receipt from me very aggressively. This was was very unprofessional, and frankly very upsetting. Upsetting to the point where I crossed out my tip, and changed it to zero. I also called afterwards to tell the manager, and the server pretended she couldn't hear me and hung up on me after I asked for the manager. I hope the owner can see this. read more

Extremely unprofessional and hostile behavior toward a potential customer. I briefly entered this restaurant while nearby at H&R Block and used the restroom. When I arrived, the waitress was actively helping customers, so I did not interrupt her. As I exited the restroom, I was met with a hostile look and an aggressive "What!?" from the waitress. When I calmly said "Excuse me?", she doubled down with more attitude and said, "You no say anything to me," implying I had done something wrong by not announcing myself while she was clearly busy with another customer. I had every intention of staying and ordering food afterward as a courtesy for using the restroom. Instead, I was treated with open disrespect in front of other patrons. I told her plainly that this behavior is exactly why I would not be spending money there and left. First impressions matter. The way a business treats people--especially potential customers--says everything. Based on this interaction alone, I would not recommend giving this place your business. read more

Placed a phone order for a Steak & Brisket Pho. I was offered 3 sizes, and chose to go with large. I ordered to go but the place when I went to pick up is small but clean and welcoming. I always taste the broth before adding anything. The broth was hot and tasty. It is in the sweeter side that another review stated but it's not too sweet. Just enough to give a nice taste. The portion size for a large is very generous and is way more than I've had at other places. The brisket has a nice taste to it as well. Been a while since Ive stopped in. Same couple running the joint. They have a friend helping them out instead of their daughters--which are probably grown by now. Food is still tasty. Service was good. The friend that was taking orders was a friendly and welcoming. I overheard her explaining to another customer (after he told her that his avocado bubble tea was some of the best in the area) that what makes everything good there is the love that is put into it...true statement. Prices are still fair...and sizes are still filling. This truly is one of the best pho spot in the area. I have been coming to iPho since their STW location. I cant say that people can really give fair ratings if they have only had delivery experiences. Also, I have never had hair in my food or seen roaches here. Tucked away in a smaller strip mall along a busy road, iPho isn't a place one really slams on their breaks for. However, if you peruse Yelp for pho around the Tacoma area, iPho is a top contender as a fan favorite. An older Vietnamese couple working both the dining floor and kitchen, make it clear that they take pride in making sure the establishment is really clean (I'm meaning no crusty sriracha bottles, or hoisin) but clean nozzles, freshly wiped down tables, and clean utensil you don't have to second guess. Usually when I do go to a "hole in the wall" type Pho joint, cleanliness isn't the first thing that comes to mind. It's usually a bit of a sacrifice having to choose between maintenance values and authentic dishes; but not this place. Food order: fried egg rolls, bun bo hue, pad thai, watermelon bubble tea, and a bahnmi sandwich with pork. The bun bo hue was full of lemongrass flavor and but was deceivingly red (not extremely spicy.) I had to add a lot of sam bal and sriracha to get the intense flavor I was looking for but the meat, noodles, and broth seemed to have been cooked right. The bahn mi was to die for - when I come back here, I'll definitely order and extra to go. The bread was crusty and fresh; slathered in butter, flavorful pork, and crunchy refreshing pickled vegetables. Pad thai - isn't it kind of comedic when a specialty restaurant serving pho actually also makes bomb thai food? Shockingly one of the chewiest, perfect ratio of tangy and sweet pad thai dishes I've had to date. Overall, if you are craving some bomb noodles, pho, or even stir fried noodles, this place is worth trying out. Dishes are also super reasonably priced that you can try multiple dishes and not burn a hole in your pocket. Extra points to the older woman (the owner perhaps) for always serving each and every table with a contagious smile on her face. read more

We just moved to Lakewood. We were so excited about finding this really good Vietnamese restaurant. It was so good last week that we decided to do take out tonight. My husband went there to pick up food. It took them 30mins since they had only 1 cook which was fine. He got home and we were so excited to eat dinner. When I transfer the BBH noodle soup to the bowl....... I see legs. I see a COCKROACH........... I drove back to the restaurant right away. I arrived to the restaurant around 8:30pm, they were closed. Came here for brisket pho and took it to go for a little picnic. We waited only 5 minutes after ordering. The pho was delicious! We got a large and we shared it between two people so it was a good deal. We will be back to try more in future! We came around 6 on a Friday night and there was only one other couple there. I wasn't too sure at first stopping in, because it's part of kind of a modern building. Foodies know what I mean! Lol! This is literally the only pho place we will go to now. I didn't even add oyster sauce because my broth was so flavorful! Talked to the woman there and she confirmed what I already had a feeling of. The pho is legit made from scratch. She said the chef doesn't believe in cooking any other way. The beef bones are boiled overnight and it is so evident in the flavor. No powder or paste here! Meat and ingredients are fresh. I got the meatball and brisket pho and my brisket was fresh and tender! You know it's legit when they have the sugar, and the actual chili oil on the tables! Lol! I can't say enough about this place. Due to the virus- the restaurant has blocked off tables to ensure proper separation for dine-in; due to the facility size and layout though, customers who dine in are liable to have carryout-customers walk by them to pickup their food. Having shared that- I ordered carryout, it was delicous! My order included Wantons, Spring Rolls, Stir Fried Chicken with eggplant (#4/5) and Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken (asked for rice noodles, but received egg noodles). Neither dish was too spicy, and both were savory, rich in flavor, and made my mouth water on the drive home. I ordered the Pork Spring Rolls which came with a Peanut Sauce. They were delicious but be warned, the Spring Rolls were made with Pork and Shrimp; the wrap was a but thick, and a couple of bites were a tad chewy. The rice was ok, it didn't taste bad~ but it also didn't seem like it had just been made. Will no longer be going here. It's my first time I got very bad sevice here. I often come here with my boyfriend. The nice lady that would normally attend to us wasn't there so i feel bad about leaving this review. So it was another server. We ordered the egg rolls, beef & brisket pho along with the beef eggplant and she even asked my boyfriend again if it was beef eggplant and he said yes. But she got the wrong order and gave us chicken eggplant so we told her kindly that it was wrong. In a couple minutes we received raw beef in the eggplant. This isn't our first time getting beef eggplant so we know it wasn't supposed to be cooked that way. The cook and server shouldn't have got mad at us for them getting it wrong and done a better job. My boyfriend and I come here often during the winter because their pho is so good and it's so close to where we live. However, with the weather warming up I wanted to try one of their stir fry dishes instead. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan and when I asked the waitress if I could order something else she literally told me I couldn't. And we had to pay for it! I understand, I took a few bites, but as someone who works as a server it's embarrassing to me how unfriendly the only waitress is. I just recently moved to the Tacoma area and I couldn't find a place that had decent pho until I came here. This restaurant is located in a little strip mall and there is absolutely nothing pretentious about it. You pay at the counter at the end of your meal and also most everything is under $10. The pho here is really good but the stand out is actually the bun bo hue. The depth of flavor from the shrimp paste and lemon grass balanced the fresh herds really make this soup exceptional. The salt and pepper squid is also a solid choice of you don't feel like soup. So far this is the best pho and bun bo hue I have found in Tacoma and definitely worth trying out. read more

I really wanted this to be my new favorite place, but it was just okay for these reasons: Food- the food was good, but not great. The fried rice and rice noodles with veggies and chicken didn't have much flavor. I drenched both with srirarcha. My husband got the curry, which he enjoyed. We also got egg rolls, which were really good. The salt and pepper squid tasted more like salty squid. Way too much salt. Ambiance- it is pretty small and there isn't anything great about the decor. It's pretty basic, just tables and chairs Cleanliness- it was pretty full when we came during dinner, there weren't really any clean or empty tables by the time we left. I would say half the tables hadn't been cleaned for the entire time we were there unless someone walked in and needed a table. My husband noticed a plate that was brought that still had food on it. We got a fork with the same issue. I joked and told him it was just water stains. It was rather unsightly, which brings me to the last point. Service- Being in food service for many years, I noticed a lot of things that could have been done in order to be more efficient. I noticed people with Togo orders waiting for long periods of time and looking perturbed. I noticed other customers waiting for tables to be cleaned. Our food was brought out one thing at a time and my boba tea was brought out almost 20 mins after my husband's Thai tea that was ordered at the same time. Our noodles weren't even brought out by the time we were done so we just asked for it togo. It was busy, but it wasn't THAT busy. Ive waited and bussed more tables myself than there were in the restaurant. I would say they are in need of a dishwasher, busser, and perhaps front of house to greet and do Togo orders. Better yet, hire someone who can do all of that in between serving because the current help cannot. I don't think we will be eating here again.
