He communicated with us throughout the project of installing a new Timberteck deck. His crew worked straight on through from start to finish without empty lapses of time. The men are so highly skilled. We continue to be happy with our beautiful deck. Therefore, we asked Ruy to install a Timberteck stair rail at our front doors, which also has withstood the test of time. We'd been concerned that installments like this would compromise the brick, whereby requiring a total rebuild, but a rebuild wasn't necessary. He also advise us on an easy and effective fix to divert water from flowing from the gutter and freezing to ice on those brick steps in winter. Based on the outcome of these projects, and our experience in their progression, we highly recommend this company.

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

We used Dishington Construction to remodel our kitchen, master bathroom, laundry room, deck, living room, hallway, dining room and den. Our experience was overwhelmingly positive. Nate is really in the business of building trust by doing exactly what he says all the time. He has created a truly wonderful customer experience by using modern on-line based project management practices, professional communication, and a transparent specification and budgeting process. The quality of work is outstanding. Every sub-contractor we interacted with had great relationships with Nate and followed the methodology he set out. Our house was cleaned as much as possible every night, and every effort was made for us to be able to function during the construction. Sub-contractors had clear instructions and procedures to follow when they had questions or encountered unforeseen problems. Nate was at the site often, solving and preventing problems. When issues arose, Nate provided several solutions based on our goals and budget and let us decide what to do. Also, there were virtually no "down days" where we were waiting for sub-contractors to finish work, as Nate had organized everything so that the project finished as scheduled. We were lucky enough that our also wonderful designer referred Nate to us, and we enthusiastically recommend Dishington Construction for any project. We will definitely be using Nate in the future.

We bought a house in Belmont, MA that Nate Dishington and Co. gut renovated less than a year prior…read more Nate was hired by the previous owners, who had renovated the house with the idea to live in it themselves but ended up moving out of state for a new job. On the surface, the renovations looked/look beautiful. We were wowed and stretched ourselves financially to buy the house. However, within one week after moving in (July 2018), we noticed that the foyer ceiling immediately beneath the 2nd floor master bathroom shower was wet and that the paint was starting to fall off. We immediately contacted Nate Dishington. He admitted that the bathroom tiler he used to work with did poor quality work and that Nate let him go. Despite that admission, he essentially abdicated all responsibility for the shower leak other than to have his new shower guy come by to do some superficial caulking (Nov 2018). Meanwhile, the paint in the foyer continued to bubble and fall off. In Jan 2019, we hired another contractor to take a look. When the new contractor opened up the foyer walls, the inside was completely wet and mold had grown. In the following days (this past week), we have had to rip out all the tile on the floor and lower third of the master shower. Turns out that there is no shower pan or rubber at the base. Nate's company used some red waterproofing paint (?Redgard) at the seams, but it was clear that the waterproofing paint did not fully cover the wall when the demo guys removed the tiles (very little red color to be seen, it was only visible in the corners). The new contractor said the quality was definitely not up to standard for the industry. Regardless of what the contractor's opinion is, the most damning evidence is that the shower is leaking within a year of its completion. When we informed Nate about the situation, he expressed his condolences but abdicated all responsibility for the shower leak. To add to our pain, we are now finding out that a second shower (also done by Nate's company) is also leaking. There is a water stain forming in the ceiling of the kitchen just beneath the shower. The second shower was also done by the same bathroom tiler... We are reeling financially, emotionally, and with the time and effort we are spending on these problems, etc.--all because of the poor quality work done by Dishington and Co. We are not only disturbed by the substandard work, but also by Nate Dishington's unprofessionalism in providing no warranty on his work. It is clear that the two leaking showers (within a year of the job being completed) is entirely a problem with the workmanship, not wear and tear. The only way the showers wouldn't leak is if we did not use them...! I am concerned about what else we will find wrong in this house that we have lived in for only six months. I would advise others to steer clear of hiring Dishington Construction.
