It is a sentimental piece and I hadn't found any company willing to repair it because it wasn't going to be a big job and wouldn't make them a lot of money. Jesus had not yet formed his business when I was looking for someone to repair the sign and when I went to search again this past holiday season, I thought I had already gone through all the options for neon sign repair in Austin. I was so happy to see this new business name pop up in my search! Jesus was able to get the sign fixed before Christmas so I could give it as a gift to my husband. Not only does he run scans/prints for me on the spot (same day turn around), but he genuinely cares about the QUALITY of the work. For example, Chris handles all of my watercolor scans and when he creates the digital files for me he takes the extra time to trouble shoot, adjusting all of the settings and custom color correcting to get the PERFECT files. He's also been super helpful in answering all of my questions and concerns when it comes to sizing my projects for best resolution. Often times Chris's prints he makes look even BETTER than my original pieces! It's really the most ideal co-creation process I've ever experienced with printing my art. Found a broken Neon sign up against the garbage at a buddies apartment. Not knowing much about neon…read moreI felt like there was still something salvageable on it so I picked it up and brought it to Hayward Neon. The guy was very kind and took my sign and tested each tube out. He quickly realized the issue and told me it would probably not be worth the repair cost to get the outer tubes redone but he made a work around so the broken tubes wouldn't interfere with the rest of the sign. Within a few minutes he had the sign that I thought would just be scrap parts working. Best yet he didn't charge me a thing to look it over and fix it. He even taught me a thing or two about how the neon worked. All I can say is if I ever get another sign or need another repai I'll definitely go here first.

Daniel himself came out with a tidy truck full of rigging to do the deed, then educated myself and the best man on what control did what (on a control board labelled in true retentive fashion). They…read morewere able to get me a 3-foot by 4-foot color poster printed and mounted on foamboard by 9:30a the next day with me only getting them the PDF at 2p. For anyone that's ever used Kinkos or anything else, that's pretty darn quick. They also did it for $75 plus tax which isn't bad at all. It was pretty straightforward to upload a PDF to their website, although it could use a bit of a facelift from the late-90s-style java applet that they use. The did respond via e-mail promptly to ask questions about how I wanted it printed and were really helpful when I had questions. The actual poster came out great and it was perfect for what we needed. The north location will tell you that they "don't do color", but what they mean is that they don't do exact color matching for photo-level, perfect printing. They do color just fine and it matched the PDF I gave them as well as I had an expectation that it would. If you need something big printed, it's always annoying that it takes some prior notice and more money than you want to spend, but at least these people minimize the pain and produce good results.

After I saw her reaction, I had enough of feeling like she wanted me to not be there. So I left.
