I love love love Invoke! I finally made it out to their 86th Street studio, and it's such a calming place to practice. I booked a class online like two weeks prior, but then forgot which class I had booked. But I remembered what date and time I was supposed to be there, so I showed up and found out that I had booked a heated vinyasa level 2 class! And wouldn't you know it, that day, I was nursing a lil' hangover. Holy hot yoga! I was totally unprepared physically, but mentally I was excited to challenge myself and told myself that if all else fails, there's no shame in taking a child's pose. I ended up having one of the best yogas sessions I've had in a long time, all thanks to my instructor that day, Jill. I have had her for outdoor yoga before, but this was my first time being in one of her studio classes. Jill was the perfect balance of encouragement and gentleness, and she played great music! The heated yoga classes are no joke -- they're pretty intense, but they're also relaxing and allow you to feel more open and flexible. Make sure to bring water and a towel! read more

Still may favorite studio. A few reasons why: - They have social events periodically. It's a great opportunity to meet the instructors and fellow students. - Outdoor yoga! The sessions at the Ruins in Holliday Park are a great way to start or end the day. - Hot yoga. I never thought I would like it, but I'm addicted. - Private events. My 9 year old had the first half of her birthday party here. They let us bring in (a reasonable amount of) decorations, asked for her favorite artists/songs, and built a yoga playlist from Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendez for a personalized class for her and a dozen friends. The pricing was VERY reasonable (I think $150 or less?) and they are two doors down from Noble Romans, so you can walk over for pizza and presents afterwards to cap off a party. read more

My wife, Cherry's review: I have been coming to Invoke Wellness Center for yoga and pilates reformer since 2016. During these unprecedented times, I decided to get the Warrior Membership so I can get unlimited in-person and online classes. Doing regular yoga has helped my mental and physical health and has eased any anxiety with what's going on around us. I've been very happy with what Invoke has done to keep us all safe. Inasmuch as I really love their heated vinyasas, I'm actually enjoying the Zoom classes, too since I can join classes with other teachers I wouldn't experience otherwise since I only go to their Northwest studio. My journey with Invoke started with corporate Pilates classes. In 2017 I started yoga classes in studio and have never looked back. I love the variety of instructors and classes. I'm a big fan of all the outdoor classes not to mention the variety of workshops on different topics the studio offers. And restorative classes are perfect for complete relaxation. I have been practicing yoga regularly for the past year, and as of November, Invoke has become my home studio. I first started with the Sunday $10 Community classes and then purchased a $39 intro month. During that time, I attended as many classes as possible to get a feel for the studio and decide if I wanted to commit long-term (and pay full price). Here is why I decided to stay: -Option to take a heated or non-heated class: if you do choose a heated class--which helps with flexibility and sweating out toxins--the room can get up to 105 degrees. I will note that the humidity is that as bad as other hot yoga rooms I've practiced in. -Overall instructor knowledge: I notice that most of the instructors really know their shit. They will not only call out the asana and how to get in/out of it, but also they know the little details to help you get the maximum benefit out of each asana. Therefore, I would best sum up their instruction as detailed and refined. My preferred instructors: Megan, Yvonne, Jole, and Jay. -Variety of classes and workshops: Invoke offers leveled Vinyasa and Yin classes, and there are also workshops and special events offered monthly, whether that be hip hop yoga, myofascial release, or an intro to the practice of yoga. If you prefer a slower flow or what to work on the foundations of your practice, then the best place to start is the Level 1 and 1/2 classes. If you like an athletic flow with a steady pace, then you'll be comfortable with a Level 2 class. If you want to focus on a calmer practice that will stretch you out, then you definitely want to check out one of the Yin classes. If you become obsessed and want to deepen your practice, then you're in luck, as Invoke offers teacher training. Right now, Invoke is the best $120 I spend per month for my body, mind, and spirit. This is such a wonderfully open and accepting yoga studio. As a newbie to yoga I never felt out of place or judged here and I loved the atmosphere. The teachers are great at suggesting adjustments based on skill level. I have tried several yoga studios and while all of them have their charm, Invoke is the only place where everything seems to be on point. First, your staff is knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and has made me feel welcome every visit. Also, they clearly explain and show poses, but also walk around and adjust students (with permission). The classes are perfectly taught and the queues that instructors give help me really understand the poses. Also, the hot classes are HOOOT!!! I LOVE IT! I came to Invoke with a year of what I thought was good yoga practice under my belt. Invoke changed everything! Invoke was recommended to me by a friend and I was hooked after 3 classes. The unlimited two weeks for $30 is a steal, and a great opportunity to feel out all the teachers. Cheryl is by far my favorite teacher! She kicks your butt but also challenges you and supports you without hesitating. Laura is also fantastic. Her gentle voice helps you truly relax in yin classes and she has a great way of simplifying each pose for practitioners of all levels. Workshops give you the opportunity to deepen your practice as well as an alternative to the normal schedule. Invoke's atmosphere is inviting and the teachers always welcome new students. If you are new to Invoke I'd advise you to come early, as most classes fill up quickly. Oh, and be prepared to work up a sweat! You leave class feeling like you got beat up and rejuvenated at the same time! Best investment I've ever made for myself. If this place were a song, it would be "Gonna Make You Sweat" if Iron and Wine did a cover of it, because you will SWEAT. Parts of my body that I didn't know could sweat actually started sweating during their heated vinyasa classes. Like most, I did the two week pass for $30, and went about three times a week during that period. The bar effect class was exactly what I needed to kick my ass, and the Yin yoga classes in the evening are perfect after a long day at work and to ensure a good night's sleep. read more

The first class I attended was actually at the Veterans War Monument downtown, not the studio. After attending the outdoor workshop I got an email for a free class in store, definitely a win-win! I was lucky enough to check out Invoke with a friends guest pass, and boy did they kick my butt :) I took Olivia Grace's barre class which was amazing. The studio is small so she is truly able to take time and help each of her students. Being in such a small class was the push and motivation I needed to keep going so that I could keep up with my classmates! Although barre focuses on your legs, Olivia Grace did a good job of also working in arms and abs so that you get a full body workout. If you're looking for a well rounded exercise to tone those muscles the barre workout is where it is at! read more

The instructors know their stuff and are fantastic at verbal cues, as well as small physical adjustments if needed. I don't think I can say enough nice things about the studio, but I'll try to find a few. :) Investment: While looking around, it looks like Invoke offers the most bang for your buck when it comes to the classes and the packages. I did the the new student special 2 weeks for $30.00, and it was well worth it. I was able to explore a variety of Yoga and Pilates classes with different instructors. After my promotion ended, I did the "Intro to Yoga" workshop to follow up. It's $55.00 plus you get two weeks of unlimited classes for free. I'm glad that I made the investment in the workshop because it carried out through my other practices. Location and Space: I love that Invoke has two locations, and The Invoke Wellness Center is very convenient from my work and my home. From the lobby area to the studio, it feels warm, open, and inviting. The studio is lovely with the hardwood floors, the mirrors, the ballet bar, and the fireplace. I feel that the decor helps me get into the zone and focus better during the practices. It's a very peaceful and relaxing environment People: Invoke has a nice and supportive community. For someone who is fairly new to yoga and the studio, I immediately felt welcomed by the staff, teachers, and other students. To begin, the staff is wonderful and helpful. Anytime I have had a question or request, they have gotten back to me very quickly. And for as many that come through the studio, I'm happy that they remember my name. The teachers have been amazing and encouraging. During the classes, they give good clear directions that are easy to follow. I took a great hot yoga class here from Kara while I was in Indy for a long weekend visiting family. I used MindBody to look up studio locations near me which is how I found them, and the class schedule was posted there as well. It was $17 for a drop-in class and another $2 for a yoga mat rental fee. I wanted to try a pilates class too, but it didn't fit into my schedule unfortunately. Next time I'm in town I will plan ahead. There is a fireplace burning inside of the studio which creates a really cool vibe. Everything felt very clean and inviting. It smelled nice and there was a retail section if I wouldn't have had workout clothes or a cold water bottle. If you haven't already tried this studio, you definitely should. I was needing yoga after an injury sidetracked my usual athletic lifestyle, but didn't have the nerve to sign up. New, is always scary. My wife, who is remarkable, bought me a private session at Invoke, to get my 'foot in the door'. Cheryl was my private instructor, and was so warm and amazing. She knew how to teach and inspire me to commit to a new way of life, through yoga. I now attend several classes a week, and LOVE it! The staff there is so nice, Tina is so much fun at the front desk. What a total game changing experience. My three favorite instructors are, of course, Cheryl Milton for her amazing knowledge and attention to detail. She is so attentive to my positioning, yet stays aware of my limitations. Kara Nefouse is another awesome instructor that I go to. She is very intense, and smooth with her instruction. She is super strong! I always leave her class exhausted, but in the good kind of way. Erin Eoff is my noon class instructor, she is so nice and attentive. Her class has a slower pace, which allows me to focus more on my proper breathing technique. It seems that there are two sides to yoga, physical and spiritual. Having a slower pace allows me to learn how to accept the peace that yoga can offer. She too, focuses on positioning. She does this awesome shoulder adjustment for the final pose, I don't know what it's all about, but it really helps me calm down and focus on relaxing. As a new guy to yoga, I have a lot to learn. These three instructors have different styles, but all offer unique perspectives into the practice. I have been to some of the other instructors classes, and enjoyed them too. I need to log more sessions with them, before I can give an honest assessment. I'm an athletic guy, with injuries. I am new to Yoga, but not new to health. Invoke has opened the door for me to rebuild my strength and stamina. I would have never guessed how challenging yoga could be! It can grueling, satisfying, and peaceful all at once. If you want to feel welcomed and be greeted in a friendly manner by the staff, I recommend taking your business elsewhere. It's not that anyone was mean, they just didn't go out of their way to make you feel like they were happy someone new was there. Also, there are not many Zen-like classes here, so if you are looking for that, one more reason not to waste your money here. Very nice yoga studio with a variety of heated and regular classes. I tried the Friday night candlelight flow (heated) with Rebecca as the instructor. It was a great class, pretty vigorous, but definitely a good experience. Rebecca was warm and inviting and led a beautiful practice. My parents (who are NOT avid yogis) joined me, and while they struggled, they still had a good time and plan to go back next week. Only complaint is that the classes are expensive even with a package deal. read more

All the yoga and Barre Effect classes I've taken here are wonderful! Their instructors are very in tune with "invoke"ing a great and mindful yoga practice. I am pretty new to yoga, and didn't know what to expect when I went to Invoke for my first basics class with Laura at the 86th and Ditch location. I came in hoping to get some relief from grad-school, work, and life stress, and to get a workout. The class FAR exceeded my hopes! I experienced deep relaxation and relief during the 1 hour 15 minute class that had lasting effects even in the week following. Laura has such a nurturing and relaxing presence, and the studio & music make for a lovely space. I also felt that nice soreness in my muscles the next day after a workout. I am planning on doing the Intro to Yoga workshop next month & continuing with classes in the future. Great experience! read more
