I had a great time getting 2 of my tattoos here. Both of my tattoos were done by David "Ocean" Hardy @tattoosbyocean. My first experience with this shop, my family experienced a loss and wanted to get a tribute tattoo made for a cousin. It was a brand design with my cousin's initials inside. We asked if they could fit 5 of us in and they were more then accommodating. David made us feel comfortable and was a good guy to talk to. So good, most of returned to get more! I returned to get a karaoke mic on my arm that had the wire plug into my wrist. He got what I wanted down! Consistently great experience. This place is conveniently located near downtown Vallejo off Sonoma Blvd. Parking is no problem with street parking in front and parking lot across the street. It's good to know that there are great artists locally. I see that David specializes in portraits. So if you are looking for an artist that can do portraits well, David is your man! There are a couple artists that reside here and their artwork, from what I have seen, is pretty awesome! Hopefully, you're Yelping adventures lead you to this awesome tattoo spot in Vallejo. This review is for my artist David whom did a good job on my back piece. He knows what he is doing and is passionate on what he does. If he thinks your design isn't right for you he will give you his input and draw you up a new one that best suits you. David is friendly and humorous (all his co workers included) and will take care of you from the top to bottom. His outline for his artwork is absolutely beautiful and shading as well. The whole shop itself is friendly and sweet. They treat each other like family and will treat you like a friend that they had known for a while and make sure you're comfortable. There's two candy machines with jelly beans there for you if you feel like passing out while getting your artwork done. Me and my sister went to get pierced yesterday I got a Medusa piercing and she got and Ashley piercing.I I thought everything was okay until I felt like my lips were literally eating the piercing so I went to a different piercer in Fairfield and he said number one the bar was too small for my full lips and it was pierced incorrectly and also not centered same thing with the Ashley piercer and hers was told that by a different piercer as well I called Hugo and he said there was nothing he can do about it if he knew the bar was too short he should have told us before piercing us because if we didn't get it changed our skin would have started grow around it as it's sinking in.We both asked Hugo if that was the longest bar he had and he said yes only those flower options.He refused to give me a refund but gave my sisters her and would also not give the Owners number.AND WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS read more

Zachary has been a great artist. We've followed him from Allied Ink, is willing to travel to him in Sacramento, and now we see him here at Invictus. His art is clean and his prices are good. Color and vibrance in his tattoos are bright (that's if that is what your going for) but I have seen a few friends go in for different types of art that still look amazing. imagine it's 1* for the specific guy I'm talking about but don't wanna mess up the business reviews: earlier this year I came in for a simple tattoo on my wrist. It was done by an apprentice whose name starts with J. My tattoo healed fine but it's a terrible tattoo. I have to get it redone, unfortunately. In addition, he gave me a lip piercing that did not turn out well. I ended up learning from a more experienced piercer elsewhere that this guy used a bar that was half the length he was supposed to and busted my lip while trying to force the jewelry backing on. My lip swole to the point you couldn't even see the jewelry in a matter of a few days. I did my best to avoid infection, however, I was informed that if I waited a day or two longer I would have needed to go to the hospital. I would not recommend this guy for piercings at all. read more

This place has a friendly staff, and are highly hospitable and made me feel welcome. Lauren Paul gave me a painless and gentle smiley piercing. I've gotten the piercing prior. The first time it was done it was not strait or proportionate but I left it in because it wouldn't be highly obvious hidden behind my top lip. I had my piercing for about a year and then... I got my wisdom teeth pulled and it was required for me to remove my previous 'smiley' piercing and that area heals SO FAST that it was on my list of things to get redone. I've lived in Vallejo my entire life, and it was my first time coming here for their Friday the 13th flash special. Everyone was super nice and it was pretty organized in terms of stations. As soon as you walk in, you give your ID, fill out paperwork, etc. Next you go to the flash tattoo station (which they had alot if great options to choose from for every thpe if tattoo you'd want), choose the one(s) you want, and they print out your stencil to give to your artist. You then wait until your name is called and youre sent to the next available artist. I will say the set prices were also very affordable. Most tattoos were under $100. Overall it was a good experience and my artist was very talkative which i appreciated. Sometimes tattoo artists are quiet which can be both boring and not help take your mind off the pain. He looked at it and said ok here are the tattoo artist books see which one you would want to do the work. Well some women came up behind me and asked to see what I had. Not sure if she was an artist or just someone in the shop. She looked at what I wanted and asked me where I wanted put it, I told her my arm. Then she went off on how it would fit and looked at my other tattoos and said see how the letters are bleeding together? I didn't see where that was happening. But then she show the receptionist it again and he just knotted his head. I was so taken back on the attitude she had.
