We were handed over to the piercers and one asked the other "Do you want her or do you want me to take her?" the other responded "I don't care". At this point I'm don't really feel like a valued customer, I'm just whatever to them. Not one person said hello to me, introduced themself, or even asked me my name. The whole process felt like I was being rushed and they wanted me in and out very quickly (despite no other customers in the shop). I was moved to the small room in the back and every question I asked felt like I was bothering the piercer, giving me short answers instead of helping me to make a decision. The jewelry did not seem properly sterilized, just quickly sprayed down, no autoclave machine. I did not even see the piercer wash her hands. With the unfriendly and unprofessional staff, hot and stuffy room, the piercer's baby crying in the small shop, and unclean practices I chose to leave. I did have to pay $20 because the piercer said she already opened the needle (which was opened before selecting jewelry and marking). Not complaining because I understand those are her supplies, but I wish she waited until she saw that I was ready and comfortable. We showed up today a few minutes early for the appointment. Jose was not there yet. The person at the front counter said they would let him know we had arrived, but after waiting with no communication, we decided to leave. We then sent a text message stating that we would be returning for our $50 deposit. Jose later responded, confirming his arrival after 12 noon and insisted that he was not late. In our view, if you have an appointment scheduled, you should arrive early enough to prepare and begin on time. When we spoke with Jose, the situation quickly became unpleasant. He called my husband names, threatened us, and told us to show up and he'd handle us. He did not apologize and stated that he was on his own time. He also refused to return our deposit, claiming it was non-refundable based on his personal rule, despite there being nothing in writing outlining such a policy. We showed up to collect our money. Throughout the interaction, Jose was disrespectful and insisted that we were wrong for leaving. Not his fault we left. It's difficult to understand why we were expected to respect his time when he showed no respect for ours? The conversation became heated, and the entire experience was disappointing. Unfortunately, this was our first encounter with Jose. Beyond the poor customer service, the level of disrespect and entitlement was shocking. He was clearly in the wrong yet still felt justified in threatening us. Admitting he was wrong, HA! Not Jose. Jose is a dick. Just give us back our money. You clearly like to take advantage of people because you know they won't fight back. Jose is an awful human being and the shop should care who they have representing them.
