Man where do I start, Odie was my artist, he was super responsive and coordinated well up to the date we worked on this project together, I had the idea of what I wanted and gave him a rough sketch and I asked him to make it better, and what can I say the results speak for itself! He delivered! We had a great conversation throughout the session, super chill vibes and a funny dude. Just a chill person to be around. My experience with odie versus other shops I've been to, he has a light touch or maybe it's just the area of skin I got inked, but 75% of my tattoo was a 3/10 pain and highest reaching 7/10. There's parking in the back so your car doesn't get bapped cuz you're near downtown vallejo. Side note he is very well priced and works fast and accommodates. Make sure you have what you want in mind and with his experience of 10+ years he will work with you very well. 10/10 I'll come again if I need work done other than tribal. Kai, also known as Cobra Kai, is a new artist that I so happened to run into while looking for a shop to do to my tribute tattoo. I've spent a while lotta' time in Vallejo with other artists and the style that I was looking for was the American Tradition slash Sailor Jerry type vibe - in which my previous artists couldn't follow through on since their styles were a little different. Fortunately Kai was able to fit me on a Monday and our appointment was set up for 2 o'clock on a ungodly hot day. The shop is in an older home converted into the tattoo parlor with no A/C so your only options are fans and drinking cold waters. Thus, in the future I will only be planning on getting tatts from Kai on cooler days. Unlike my previous artists, she was (obviously) female and we connected really well so my three hour session went by pretty quick with a few smoke breaks. She was awesome and honestly, this chick has a good head on her shoulders... from what I can tell. We talked about her art work, her travels, her personal life from all over the country, and she showed me some of her drawings that she was working on. Her work was amazing. Perfect and better than I could of imagined. It's one thing to see the stencil and another to see the finished piece on yourself. Surprisingly she admitted that American Traditional was something she wanted to work more on but with the work she did on me - she definitely delivered. The red was brilliant and the shading was amazing. The tattoo is healing and the red is still vibrant. For sure I'll be going back to her in the future since I plan on adding more to my piece. After having Van of Lucky Van's tattoo in SF do all my work minus 1 horrible one done in Hawaii... i was eager to find someone just as good in Vallejo but hesitant. When we lost my mother in law in October, my fiance & sister in law came by Pop's to get work done. One went to Jeff & the other to Diego. After Diego finished with my fiance's tattoo, i was impressed. I then decided i would come back to set my appointment. I finally came back one Sunday, at the end of our session i was so in love with Diego's art work. My Hummingbird with Orchid's was way more than what i had expected it to come out as, it was just beautiful. Definitely my only favorite right now. They've moved!! No longer on Georgia but at 800 Tennessee Street. I Love Pop's!!: I was referred there by a friend and made an appointment to see Ann about a tat. The place is very comfortable and welcoming. Designs line the walls like wallpaper and they have binders full of ideas to help you select your permanent accessory. The shop is very sterile. If you plan on getting your tattoo there make sure you have an idea of what you want and then select the right artist for you. You will most definetly want to make an appointment and when you're done it'll be well worth it!. read more

I got my first tattoo at Pop's Old Town Tattoo. It was recommended from my two friends who have gone there for their tattoos before. I absolutely loved the artwork. I was nervous but I didn't need to be. I went to Eoin who I have to say will be the one I will be going to for all my tattoos. I went in ahead of time to get a sketch for my tattoo. Eoin was friendly and very helpful. It's was a big piece for a first tattoo and he had it sketched up in two days. In three days I had a sketch and an outline all ready. It is healing up quite nicely. In a week I'll be able to start the color. I have also gotten a small tattoo on my finger. It was a walk in only three days after my first tattoo. It hurt. My shoulder wasn't bad at all but this tiny tattoo got me. It was worth it however. Quick amazing service and he showed me so many options on the different styles of font! He knew what size to put on my finger so that I could hide it for work and it wouldn't be too small. Needless to say it fits right on my finger nicely. I would recommend going to Eoin. He is funny and very talented. Hopefully you will see so too with all his work posted on his walls. One thing I love going in for my tattoos is that he talks to you during the session, which for me kept me thinking about something else and made the time go by so fast during my outline session. My experience being tattooed by Diego was one of the most enjoyable days of my life. I'm 52 and had never gotten any tattoos. The designs I chose were deceptively simple, which means they required exacting precision. Diego admitted that he was nervous to get them perfect, which says a lot about the man: He cares. We had a great rapport and both had to take breaks when we cracked each other up. Dude, he even let me watch The Great British Baking Show the whole time. So I'm late in my review. I decided when I turned 40, I was going to get my very first tattoo. I did a lot of research on designs and of places to go. A cousin of mine suggested Pop's since she had her very first tattoo done there years ago. We went there so I could check out the place. We got there and made an appointment. Eion worked on my tattoo. I told him that it was my first tattoo ever. He understood and did his best to create a calming environment minus hearing his instrument at work. I have spent a few hours at this place and have the ink to show for it. It's an easy shop to deal with, the staff are nice, quality artists and make you feel comfortable. I have had Ann do work on my leg, she took some idea's that I had and designed a great piece for the right leg. She can do no wrong with her choice of color and has a pretty light hand. Here goes: I'm as girly girl as it gets and I have NO pain tolerance what-so-ever. After debating for 10 years on getting a tattoo, I finally decided to do it. My husband got his three from Pop's Old Town Tattoo and of course, happy with the work, suggested it to me. I went one other place to check them out to get a feel, but after visiting this parlor it was a no brainer. My artist was Joe, and he could not have been any nicer or more patient with me. I wish I could have come out of the place saying it was "just a little ouchy from time to time" but I would be lying my butt off. IT HURT! He was quick, calm, and most importantly eased me. While it may not have seemed like it at the time, his unwavering sense of being awesome helped tremendously with my being able to get through it. (Thank you again, Joe!! ~ from the girl that is still waiting for her lollypop for getting through it.) Am I a pansy? Yes. But isn't that sometimes the review you want to hear? Yes, it's great to read reviews from people who can get inked everywhere and says that it stung periodically- but what about for the first timers? Pop's is the best place to go for a tattoo whether it's your first or if you're a veteran. I just got another AWESOME tattoo done by Joe, and brought my better half in for her very first. Joe is very talented and does great custom work. He can take any design and come up with creative ideas to make it your own. I personally think his talent is amazing and would recommend him to anyone, but from what I've seen of the other artists they are all very capable and will do a great job for you. Vince is so lovable...he gave me my first (**blush**). Seriously though, these guys will give you a great experience in their immaculate shop that will make you want to come back for more. A friend of mine does tattoo's out of this shop... he's semi retired as he now is into law enforcement (go figure tattoo guy = police officer). The shop is clean, well lit. Everything you would want the place you get your first, second and fourth tattoo to be. You know you aren't going to come down with some sort of crazy disease or infection. They have the standard array of cookie cutter tattoos that you'll see on the walls at any shop. I also have taken several of my friends there to get work done exclusively by Ali Ulrich, who is a young artist there at the shop. She is super friendly, as is Vince the owner. Ali does great work, will make a 100 dollar tattoo look like a 200 dollar tattoo, is funny, adorable, and doesn't have half the attitude of most tattoo artist I have had the misfortune of trying to crack jokes with. I heard this place won some awards, so I thought I would go check it out. I wanted to get a piece that represents my daughters autism. They acted like they cared. They even said 'since I can see this means so much to you, well thats how much it means to us" So they took my deposit and said to give them just a couple days. After a week, I called to say wassup with the tat. They never started. Then they asked if I would come back in to trace my arm and promised that they would work on it. NEVER DID. Called my last time and then says they will get to it when they can. SO DISRESPECTFULL and all they did was bash all the other shops in Vallejo when I first met them and they turned out to be the worst. read more

Love Pop's! I've been going there for years. Even got my boyfriend to start going there. They are so friendly, helpful, and everyone there has different taste. So far we have worked with Joe the most. He is funny, fast, and has great idea's. He has created a number of my boyfriend tat's and they look great.
