First of all he has a confederate flag up on his wall which obviously is disgraceful as an American and a true patriot it saddens me; it's also clear he's racist as there's little to no persons of color on the wall art. The arts good you can tell he's an experienced artist but you can also tell when he doesn't put as much effort, but that's not the issue. The issue is customer service I tried to give Ricky the benefit of the doubt in my first interaction when my spouse was getting a tattoo but he was very obviously impolite I tried to ignore it because that's how the older generation is but the level of rudeness and the off standing communication that's clearly impolite isn't needed. Then in our second interaction over the phone trying to discuss a tattoo he was blatantly rude, just not required at all there is absolutely no reason to be rude as a godly man; it's not hard to have common courtesy to a fellow human. To add i've heard from some aunts of mine that he may come off creepy to women as in he crosses boundaries or makes odd comments towards women. Lastly my spouse said he moved her in the chair by placing his hands on her legs which I didn't know about at the time but is obviously crossing the line as well. if you're a woman i don't recommend going here. the old man that own the shop and does the tattoos is literally a creep i got major pedo vibes from him. i legit feared for my safety i thought he was gonna kidnap me or something & he will sit there & preach to you the whole time. I tried telling him I'm religious and I already know what he's talking about but he still kept yapping and as someone who is actually a christian, he's preaching false gospel in the first place ‍. Back to the creep thing, instead of saying, "can you get up I need to adjust your chair" like a normal person this man W NO WARNING literally sticks his hands between my legs and adjusts my seat which was the most uncomfortable thing ever. Really disapointed how I was treated by Rangoon Rick today. I'm a 60 yr old widow, awaiting a hip replacement so standing and walking is very difficult for me. I stopped and sat down in one of the iron chairs out in front of his shop to rest for a couple minutes. I'm really hurting today because of the weather too. He comes out and says, "You have to leave, seating for customers only!" I say to him... "I'm sorry, I have arthritis & my hip is hurting so bad. I'm a senior, could I sit for just a minute? I love it every time I go to only skin deep that I come in with an idea and placement and I always get feedback about if it will work like that or not. I am never disappointed and always have really amazing results. Rangoon Ricky has did a cover up that was more then I ever expected that it would turn out as well as a big piece that wraps around my leg and a chest piece. My chest piece goes with the curvature of my shoulders and a separate tattoo that goes into almost my armpit I absolutely love it! I gave him my idea and placement however my idea wouldn't of worked so he helped me tweak it. I will definitely going back for more and I refuse to go to anyone else but here. One word: Rude. Turn away immediately and go to a tattoo artist who will treat you with respect because this man must be going through his end of life crisis, powerful rude. Right when I walked into this 60s nostalgia shop, I felt like my business wasn't wanted, maybe because I wasn't "tattoo savvy" or something about me turned him off so. It's just drawing & coloring within the lines, and there are a lot of young and up n coming artists who do it just as good as this guy. read more

OMG!!!! I went to Rick because I wanted a hummingbird as an add on to some pink flowers on my shoulder. First of all I told him I wanted the colors to match my pink flowers. The hummingbird turned out to be dark blue bright yellow dark green and red. What was he thinking???? To top it all off the bird looks mean. these dark colors cannot be removed so I gotta change the color of the flowers now which is not cool. Myself and several people I've talked to said they won't go back because he's a minister and preaches. His church believes tatts are a sin so isn't he a hypocrit for inking people?? I am now going to Ann at Allied Ink and she is awesome!! To top all this off he told me he was giving a discount but I got a lot of work from ann at allied for 1/2 of what he charged me and now it looks a hell of a lot better The place is not clean. He even blew his nose with his gloves and continued tattooing me. Isnt that a health code violation? and using a fabric cheap and old desk chair for clients that can't be sterilized?? read more

THE one that i did get here at only skin deep is really pretty! but the guy is a fricking creep!!!!!!! i felt so uncomfortable the whole time not because of the tattoo BUT because of him he! said some hella creepy things to me while i was sitting in his chair. Rick listened, looked at the pictures I emailed him, and drew a fantastic picture. The actual tattoo turned out even better! It fits my arm perfectly. I have visited a lot of tattoo shops and explained to them what kind of tattoo I wanted over the last 7 years. I have never had a tattoo and was looking for a good connection with the artist. The day I walked into Ricky's my search was over. Ricky understood what I wanted and he made me feel comfortable with the procedure. He kept me up to date on his progress of the design and as soon as it was ready I got it done! Ricky has a great talent and I am proud of the work he has done for me. If the artist is in the middle of something, he can't just drop everything and attend to you.
