The technician answering the telephone was very pleasant. He gave me a choice of times. The initial time was later that same day I called! Another time was given in the event that the technician was unable to make the timeframe I first chose. The technician then later called to ask if he could come early!!! YES! He came out, explained thoroughly what the code mean and what he felt the issue was and fixed it immediately. He also explained another issue the code could mean but thought that it was only the fan issue and not a coolant issue. So he fixed it quickly and ensured I knew to call him should the issue reappear. I was very pleased with the honesty and integrity of the men in this company. They chose to do their business in honesty, not overcharging for service not necessary. Because I am an older woman, many companies seem to try to take advantage and overcharge. NOT THIS COMPANY!!! CALL THEM! I now have a fully functioning refrigerator that has been going strong. The whole cost was less than $100. The technician even gave me information on what to ask for at Home Depot/Lowes to fix the issue of re-hooking up the water line after the water line was moved during a downstairs complete remodel.

U.S. Appliance Services is the only appliance repair company I use in this area, and after two…read moreservice calls I don't plan to change that. The call that sold me came over Labor Day, when the freezer side of my refrigerator needed repair. I didn't have their contact information handy, so I started working through every local shop I could find online. Plenty of them advertise 24/7 service, nights, weekends, and holidays. Every one with a website had a closed-for-the-holiday notice or an out-of-office message up, and not one of them got back to me. U.S. Appliance Services did, and quickly. Over the holiday, it felt like they were the only repair company still in business. The only reason this isn't five stars is timing. They already had other jobs booked, so the repair itself happened a couple of days after the holiday. That was reasonable under the circumstances, but a same-day visit would have made this an easy five. When they came out, the visit was quick, efficient, and clean. There was no sales pitch, no push toward an upgraded repair, and no attempt to sell me anything I didn't need. Pricing is clear and transparent, and it's reasonable for this market. My first call with them, about a year ago, was for a dishwasher. It turned out they couldn't fix it, so they charged me what amounted to a service-call fee instead of billing me for a repair they didn't make. I ended up replacing the dishwasher, but that kind of honesty counts for a lot with me. One practical tip: text them. They'll answer messages through Yelp, but texts usually get a fairly quick reply. This area has no shortage of businesses that say they repair appliances. Far fewer seem to have the capacity to show up when you need them. U.S. Appliance Services does, and as long as I live here, they're my first call.

One of the big box stores' websites claimed they had bisque (but not locally) and could deliver in a few months. So we debated a bit about black, white, or stainless. When we needed repairs on two of our other (similarly old) appliances the repairman said the parts were no longer available. I had seen Smith's near the fairgrounds and knew roughly where it was, so I called, got good directions via phone, and was greeted promptly by the owner. When I said I needed an over the stove microwave - in bisque - instead of "sorry" he said he tries to keep bisque in stock and had one in the back room right now, new in box! Would next week be ok? Yes please! His deliver - install - haul away price was far better than the chain store prices AND he had it in stock! The installers arrived on time, removed the old one, checked the new one, and determined that the opening in the cabinetry was too deep ; the new one would go in but the doors wouldn't open. Oops! They called someone to handle the necessary carpentry, which was done efficiently for a perfect fit. No muss, no fuss. The new microwave fits AND works perfectly, and matches our other bisque appliances. Nobody is predicting another 27 years, but that's ok - I'm sure our other appliances will fail sooner or later and we know where to go!

They did fine on the other areas, but completely broke my stairs' landing light. This light worked perfectly the night before they started. They were specifically paid to update the switch. The moment the technician left, the light was broken. When I called, they immediately denied responsibility and claimed it "might not have been working" before--flat out ignoring that I was there the night before using it. To make matters worse, they had the nerve to quote me an additional $2,800 to fix what their own technician just broke. What followed was a painful 6-week ordeal of poor customer service and constant lies. I spoke to management, who promised their senior technician, Anthony, would look into it. Instead, I was ghosted for weeks. Every time I called, I got the run-around: "we will call you Wednesday," "we will call you tomorrow," "we will call you Monday." No one ever called. I had to chase them constantly just to speak to a receptionist. Finally, a manager named Mike called me back. He gave me the run-around, claiming they aren't responsible because "it's knob and tube wiring." He actually expected me to fully shoulder the cost to repair the damage they caused. When I asked him to at least deduct the cost of the switch update from my original bill to account for the broken light and weeks of terrible service, he refused. When I told him I would contact my attorney if they didn't make it right, Mike condescendingly replied, "go ahead."Mike called back later and said, "Let me see what I can do. I've been down the legal road before, but sometimes people are just unreasonable." Not only did he call me unreasonable for wanting what I paid for, but he openly admitted he and this company have been down this legal road before for similar issues. This company seems to think that because a house is old, they have a free pass to cause damage without accountability. That is not how the law works. I have already contacted my attorney, as this company would clearly rather settle this in court than make a good-faith effort to correct their mistakes. If you use this company, beware: if they break something, you will have zero recourse, and they will nickel-and-dime you to pay for their blunders. Completely unprofessional at every level. As I have not heard back yet again and no good faith effort has been made to make this right. It looks like I'm going to be starting litigation just to get them to reimburse me for the work they failed to complete and the wiring and light they broke.
