Susan helped me set up our 5 year anniversary. My wife can't enjoy reds, at least not in large quantities with migraines so we did a sparkling tour, with one exception. Susan helped me narrow down the list, set up the reservations, made sure I knew exactly how to get to the ferry, and all the small details to make our trip amazing and very easy on me. The day couldn't have gone better. KC, our driver, was the perfect balance of fun meets an encyclopedia about wine/champagne. As a self proclaimed "bubblehead" he guided us along our trip, recommending an extra pit stop during our travels because it was a must see he really thought we'd enjoy, and he was right! KC was so wonderful, professional, and went out of his way to make sure our trip was special. I don't have enough adjectives to properly explain just how great he was. He even bought us anniversary lunch because he felt horrible that our scheduled destination was closed! Whether you're celebrating a big trip or just want to experience wine country this is how it should be done. From start to finish the people of Intimate Wine Tours are above and beyond going to make sure your trip is memorable. read more

It was our first visit to Napa except for one of us, so we decided we would go ahead and hire a tour guide/driver when heading out to the wineries. Emily was our tour guide and driver for the day. She first assessed what we individually liked and from what we told her she quickly suggested we would be able to visit about four wineries in about six hours. She gave us a brief highlight of her agenda and right then and there we had a good feeling we were in good hands. She knew exactly where to go. She knew the "back way" to avoid traffic. She was knowledgeable of most of the wineries and she knew a perfect spot for us to have our mid day picnic. Our tour- First stop, Cakebread. Fell in love with their Rubaiyat. Second stop, Caymus. Loved their Cabernet Sauvignon. Third stop, Sequoia Grove. Chardonnay is a must! Fourth and last stop, St Supery. Best moscato e V e r ! For those who want more details about my visit to each wineries, feel free to look them up. Chel reviewed all of them=) Albeit a little pricey, it was totally worth it at the end. We all enjoyed ourselves at each wine tasting. We were all completely "tipsy" in an awesome way. But we didn't have to worry about driving and such. We were all able to purchase all the wines we fell in love with and then some. Ask for Emily. A complete sweetheart with a pleasant personality! #truly#blessed#and#grateful read more

I called Intimate Wine. The lady that answered was very rude. The first call, I was told, very curtly, to call back as she was on the other line. Against my better judgement, I called back and received a quote. When I asked for a total price for the rental? I was told "well, do the math". If this is an example of their idea of customer service, I certainly won't be using their car service. Added 9/15: My review has absolutely nothing to do with the quote. This company could've been the best price in town and I absolutely would not have booked with them due to the attitude of the lady on the phone. We ended up hiring a limo from another company and had a great experience that started with my initial phone call. I understand the manager who responded to this post wants to defend his company; however, my review is accurate and it is unfortunate they can't take responsibility for the lack of customer service. read more

What started out as a rather poor experience turned into a lesson in what 5-star customer service looks like. Without going into much detail, we started our day with a new driver who did not know the valley very well, and was very distracted as he drove, nearly hitting pedestrians, missing stop lights, and nearly getting into a head-on collision. We called the office to express our concerns for our safety and the situation was handled swiftly...with great professionalism. Within 90 minutes, we had a new driver (Gregory...a great guy), saving our day! Thanks Tom for personally getting involved in our matter and making sure that the situation was handled to our satisfaction. This level of great customer service has earned out loyalty. We will certainly be calling again. read more

Intimate Wine tours planned a fantastic two day Napa and Sonoma private tour to six vineyards. They planned a fantastic itinerary. Our driver, Rebecca, was the best historian, current events specialist and well-connected guide we could ever imagine. She knew the best places to eat and drink, the history and many of the staff who gave us special treatment. Intimate and Rebecca exceeded our expectations and this was my fifth trip to Napa. read more

My wife and I would be in Napa for the 3rd leg of our honeymoon and wanted to see as much of Napa as possible the two nights that we were there. Of course, one of the main things that we planned to do in Napa was to drink wine but we had the problem of who was going to drive. Working with Susan at Intimate Wine Tours solved our dilemma! They offer tours where they can supply their vehicle and driver our just a driver. I relayed to Susan that my wife and I were newbies to Napa and would need a lot of hand holding to plan our trip. She came back with a great itinerary that gave us a variety of what Napa has to offer. Josh (our driver) was just great to have around. He knew the ins and outs of the vineyards and was quite informative about the industry. We just had the most wonderful day during our trip. The weather was just absolutely beautiful and we were able to visit 5 wineries that day. Intimate Wine Tours has great relationships with many of the places that we visited and they even snuck us in extra pours! My wife and I had a wonderful time with Intimate Wine Tours and look forward to working them again the next time we are in Napa. read more

I would not use this service!!! I just called after viewing the website to ask a few questions since there is no place on the site to submit questions via email. The woman that answered couldn't have been any nastier!!! When I told her I had a few questions she made a loud huff like I was bothering her. I said Im sorry is this a bad time? She fired back that it's Sunday and she is walking her dog!!!! Wow!!! I'm sorry, i thought I was calling a place of business since that is the number she had on her web page!!! Very rude and unprofessional! I would hate to think if I had hired them and if I had a problem with the driver what kind of response I would get! read more

Amazing!! My husband and I were here on a stopover for 1 day so needed to get the best in while here. Tom was incredible with details and communication. We wanted something intimate and Tom set it up perfectly! Melissa our concierge drove us and enlightened us on Napa! Beautiful day gorgeous wineries (Castello di Amorosa, Schramsberg, Frogs Leap & Carneros). Just wow!! Thanks Melissa & Tom for a beautiful day!!! read more

We have used many limo companies. This was the best idea and I'm so happy we went with this decision. Tom has been informative and wonderful! Thank you for making our wine tasting epic! read more

Had a fantastic experience creating the perfect wine tour with Tom Specht. Based on a few wineries we wanted to see, Tom organized the rest of our day and made great recommendations of places to visit. Our driver, KC was full of local knowledge, professional and friendly. Looking forward to using their service again. read more

Our driver, Josh, was phenomenal! He knew all the ways to avoid the St Helena bottleneck, to call in our order to Gott's ahead of time to avoid the line, and made some great recs for stops between appointments. Most importantly, he got us up to Pride Mountain and back in one piece! He was such a nice kid, too. We loved getting to enjoy Napa to the fullest with a driver who was fun and not stuffy. We will definitely use Intimate Wine Tours for future trips, and I'd ask for Josh in a heartbeat! read more

Josh was our driver for 3 days. Well worth it. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure. Will be hiring him again on our return. read more

1) Talking to Susan to answer any questions and set up the tour was fast and easy. If your a wine tour newbie like us, no problems and she will set you at ease right off the bat. 2) As far as your driver....Ask for KC!!!! I am sure the other drivers are great but we didn't have the other drivers and KC made the trip! Knowledgeable, safe, courteous and just fun to have as we bustled around on the tour. From the other reviews, it sounds like all the drivers are carefully chosen and I am sure they are excellent, KC was our driver and if the others are equal to or better than, you can't go wrong. 3) Price... when you compare the 'per person' charges of other services to the flat fee per hour, IWT is a much better value. Advice for newbies like us, you need to include the tasting and tour charges that each winery will charge you when you do a tasting.(usually about $20 per tasting) Also figure about an hour to an hour and a half per winery. Wine is about what you like, not what your supposed to like so make sure to tell them what your interested in so they can take you where you want to go. Intimate wine tours is the only tour company we will use in the future. read more

The question is not how can you go wrong touring wine country, the question is how can it get any better ? Enter Intimate Wine Tours. In very specific order: 1) Our driver (and now friend !) KC Denham. His passion for wine is infectious. He had my Pittsburgh raised, beer drinking, Steelers loving hubby swirling glasses with dexterity and finesse and referring to a 2014 vintage cabernet as " a petulant child that will calm with age." The visual still elicits a giggle. KC's knowledge of the area, the various vineyards, the land, the history of wine making, and its future are astonishing. And the ease of his delivery parallels that of Morgan Freeman voice over -- you are pulled in with every word and left wanting more ! Most importantly, however, is the man behind the voice. KC is warm-hearted, gracious, gentlemanly, and has a sense of peacefulness about him that draws you in. We couldn't have imagined a better person to share these three days with. And we made a wonderful new friend to boot. 2) Susan -- the woman behind the scenes (and she's pretty damn good at it !). I pride myself on many things, patience is not one of them.Working with Susan this shortcoming was never an issue. She is precise and efficient. She laid out three full days of tours for us, scheduling and setting-up lunches, tastings, tours and the like. She went above and beyond, scheduling our days to allow for a full immersion of Napa, Sonoma, and Alexander Valley. The cadence of the trip -- from small family owned vineyards to larger production wineries was thoughtful and added much to our overall experience. 3) Value in relation to experience -- full-service, quality people and unrivaled customer service. Priceless. We saw more, learned more, laughed more, and certainly drank more thanks to the Intimate Wine Tours. There is NO OTHER WAY TO DO WINE COUNTRY ! Thank you KC and Susan for a memorable visit. We will unequivocally recommend you to everyone we meet ! We only hope that you will not be too busy to squeeze us in the next time we are back ! With gratitude, Tatum & Stu read more

I had a great experience with Intimate Wine Tours. My girlfriend and I took a private wine tour with Tom around Sonoma just before the new year. It was my second wine tour in the area, and this one was both more fun and educational. Tom's knowledge of the California wine industry and it's history pared with personal relationships with many wineries made the tour for us. I highly recommend intimate wine tours. read more

My girlfriend and I had a great experience with Intimate Wine Tours. From beginning to end, their service was fantastic. From a high-level we chose Intimate because we desired a 'private tour' vs. a 'group tour', but did not want to spend the money for a private limo/towncar. So, Intimate Wine Tours was the perfect solution... 'private tour' + lower cost. At first, it was a bit awkward sitting in the back seat of my own car, but by the end of the day, we were comfortable with Josh and we definitely needed the designated driver. I would feel comfortable recommending their service to any of my friends & family. Details... Beginning with my initial call, I spoke with Susan, and she was very helpful in recommending wineries to us based on the types of wine we like, price range, and the ambiance provided of the winery/tasting rooms. She then went on to make all of our reservations, on our behalf, removing any 'work' for us to do. She even made sure we received the confirmations, via e-mail, prior to the trip, giving my type-A personality comfort in knowing 'the plan'. On the day of our tour, our driver, Josh, showed up to our Napa hotel right on time and was immediately engaging & personable. He was laid back, shared a few laughs, and told us about the wineries we were going to be visiting throughout the day. Upon getting to our first stop (Mondavi), he escorted us to get checked-in, and dropped us off to enjoy a great tour. He showed up afterward, right on time, and drove us to our next stops - Cakebread, Honig, Mumm, and Alpha Omega. At each place, he made some recommendations and told us various facts about the wineries. As the day progressed and the wine we drank increased, my girlfriend and I got less & less concerned about the time. Without Josh's help, we would have missed a couple of our reservations. However, Josh very politely & kindly kept us on track throughout the day. At the end of the day, we were going to be late in getting to our originally scheduled stop, so Josh called an audible and took us to Alpha Omega, which was open later. A great recommendation and we appreciated the flexibility. It caused him to work an extra hour, but he never hesitated in making the offer. We will be returning to Sonoma this weekend and we look forward to working with Intimate Wine Tours, again! read more

Susan designed our tour and Emily drove us around. It was great - went to Honig, Inglenook (don't miss the guided tour), Sequoia Grove, and Cakebread - and had a picnic en route. Expensive but good investment, read more

It was our first visit to Napa and the way to go is with a tour guide and driver. Intimate tours recommended to us by a friend that just visiting. Our drivers name was Josh and he was awesome. He knew so much about the are and each of the wineries we visited. They set up all the tours and gave us a schedule which we mostly stuck too and Josh kept us on schedule. He drove the car that we rented and it worked out perfectly. We did two day in Napa and one day of Sonoma wine tours. Amazing trip and well worth the cost! read more

Professional and courteous from start to finish. Our driver, Alex, was awesome! He kept us on track and called our appointments when we started running late. I highly recommend Intimate Wine Tours to everyone! The tour was personalized and I really like that our driver wasn't a stiff in a monkey suit. Intimate really delivers! read more

These guys are great!!!! I called these guys and in 30inutes they were at our hotel. Perfect service.

My husband and I used intimate wine tours for our first trip to Napa and we had a wonderful experience. Our driver Emily was very friendly and so knowledgable. There is no way we could have planned a tour like that on our own. We will be scheduling again for our next trip back. read more

My wife and I used Intimate Wine Tours for two days while in Napa on our honeymoon. We stayed at Hotel Yountville and the concierge strongly recommended this service. We did not have a lot of experience in the area so having the company design our day was welcomed. KC was our driver and we could not have been happier with the experience. He was incredibly nice, helpful, and accommodating. We have nothing but amazing to say about our time with this company. We have been recommending the service to all of our friends and family interested in a Napa trip. read more

Just to start, I never leave reviews on anything, but the service at Intimate Wine tours was fabulous I just couldn't resist. My husband and I had our anniversary in Napa and wanted to be able to go to different wineries without the fear of getting a DUI. At first I was looking at getting a limo but after reading the reviews and getting a recommendation from a co-worker I decided to go with Intimate Wine tours. First, Susan is terrific! I did not have a clue what wineries were good or that a lot of them required reservations and she took care of everything! From setting up the winery reservations, to recommendations on accommodations and best places to eat, she was very knowledgeable on everything Napa Valley. Second, Tom our driver was the best! I was very hesitant on having someone else drive my car, but Tom put my fears to rest. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable of the area and had relationships with the wineries which worked out to be bigger pours on the wine tastings. Our experience was fantastic and we would definitely use them again. read more

Traveling to Napa, my husband and I thought the only option for a private driver was an expensive limo tour. When the concierge at our hotel recommended Intimate Wine Tours to get a driver fully insured to use our rental car, we said yes please! Intimate charges $50/hour plus tip, and it was well worth it. Our driver, Josh, was the best! He knew all the right spots to take us and he was great company. Josh even picked us up lunch from Gott's while we were doing a tasting so that we could have a picnic outside our favorite winery. I would recommend Intimate Wine Tours and will be using them on our next trip to Napa! read more

We just finished our second tour with Intimate. Our driver was Christy both times (we requested her the second). Both visits have been wonderful. Tom, the owner/manager was very helpful in the process of discovering new wineries, and he even called to make sure all our chosen wineries were open (after the earthquake). Christy is very knowledgeable about the area and various wineries, and very friendly/fun. We had an action packed day, going to Domaine Chandon, Cakebread, Frog's Leap, Alpha Omega, and Peju, plus lunch at the Rutherford Grill. We planned our own itinerary, but Intimate is happy to give recs or plan a day for you if you ask. We priced out options previously, and assuming you have your own car, this is the most cost effective way to safely visit win country. read more

Earlier this month (6/11) we visited the Napa and Sonoma wine country with another couple. We stayed at MacArthur Place in Sonoma during our two day wine tour in the Napa and Sonoma Valley. The concierge referred Intimate Wine Tours and based on our experience we certainly see why this wine tour company came so highly recommended. The driver went above and beyond our expectations. Out of so many wineries to visit we were thoroughly impressed by the driver's suggestions and recommendations with some incredible boutique wineries. This created a real personalized tasting experience, which we loved! Our knowledgeable driver made the tour very relaxing, organized and logistically mapped out in order to maximize our tasting experience. We will definitely be using Intimate Wine Tours upon our next visit and absolutely referring them to our friends and contacts. Thanks again for making it such a memorable experience and for truly exceeding our expectations. read more

My husband and I just got back from Napa and had a GREAT experience with Intimate Wine Tours. Susan was really helpful and planned a great itinerary for us - we went to Cakebread, Honig, St. Clement, Charles Krug & Peju. In between, we picked up some delicious salads and sandwiches from Dean & Deluca and ate with a beautiful view of the valley as a picnic. Susan followed-up with us consistently and our driver, Silvano, was great. He was very friendly, made us feel very comfortable, and we had a really enjoyable time with him. We would definitely recommend this! It was our 4th time up to Napa in the past 5 years and the first time we used this company. Our only regret is that we didn't find it sooner. We will certainly be back to wine taste with them again! read more

We were lucky enough to have Tom as our guide our first day and Josh the second. I'm not sure it gets better. They are both very knowledgable and made our trip so much more enjoyable than if we were on our own. I should mention Susan was fantastic in setting up our itinerary. Class acts, all of them. I highly recommend!!! A must for your napa visit!!! read more

We couldn't have been more pleased. Josh was knowledgable, helpful, and patient. He guided us based on our personality and likes. We had a schedule, but he adapted and made great suggestions for other vineyards. What are waiting for!? Don't hesitate. They are excellent and are a value! read more

For a recent family trip to Napa we decided to use a car service, and what a great decision that was! Our driver, KC, was just fantastic!! Our time in the car was both entertaining and informative thanks to his detailed knowledge of the wine industry and all the fun stories he was able to share about the area. We used him several days in a row and his recommendations were always spot on! We had a great time on our private wine tour. Not being familiar with many of the wineries, we left our touring up to our driver. Just back from our 3 week CA Trip...we want everyone to know about how we spent 5 days touring Napa, Sonoma, Dry Creek, Alexander Valley and Russian River wineries with Intimate Wine Tours. IT WAS FABULOUS!!!!! I cannot brag enough about Susan and Tom. Susan worked meticulously with me, for months, to arrange a special week of wineries personal to us. Susan's attention to details and patience in educating me about the area put a level of comfort to the trip that I will always be grateful for - I could relax!!!!! Our personal tour guide and driver each day, Tom, was prompt, professional and extremely meticulous making each day run beyond smoothly. We can never thank you enough - your personal insight into "us" had the giggles going, the discussions deep and the touring terrific. Tom's love and passion for what he does came through in the level of comfort he instilled. We felt our great friend was driving us around, showing off his favorite spots.
