After picking everyone up, our group went to Saddleback Cellars. This was a great vineyard to visit - we were seated right next to the beautiful fields and enjoyed sipping our wine while walking right next to the growing grapes! The lady working there was friendly and it was really nice learning more about the history of their vineyard. They've won several awards, and we could see why! These were some delicious wines. Next, we made our way to Merryvale Vineyards where we also stopped to have our boxed lunch. Their inside space was gorgeous and it was interesting learning about the barrel aging process. We enjoyed our tasting here too! We finished up at Backstage which was one of the highlights of the day - the wines we tasted were excellent and the seating area is just gorgeous, overlooking their beautiful vineyards. We decided to buy a bottle here and enjoyed it later during our trip. Platypus was a great choice for our tour - when I was searching for tour options online it was affordable for our group, had great reviews and I can see why! Army was excellent, I loved that they picked you up and dropped you back to your hotel, and the reduced rates for the tastings helped a lot too! On my next Napa visit I would definitely book with them again.

We've done a total of five Platypus Wine Tours -- four in Napa and one in Sonoma -- and have had a…read moregood experience overall. Some tours have been truly exceptional, while others have been more average. The guides have all been good, although some definitely stand out more than others. Ultimately, though, the biggest factor in the experience is the wineries you visit and how generous they are with their pours. You'll quickly learn what a "revisit" means on these tours. Most wineries are happy to pour you another taste, but some are surprisingly stingy and seem more interested in selling bottles than providing a memorable tasting experience. Some will happily pour their most expensive wines, while others will talk about those wines without actually letting you taste them unless you're willing to buy a bottle. Honestly, that's disappointing, especially when you're there to experience and learn about the wine. That said, Platypus itself is fantastic. The shuttles are spacious, the groups are small, and the overall experience is a great way to explore wine country without the hassle of driving between wineries. My biggest recommendation: tell your tour guide upfront that you want fun, welcoming wineries that are generous with their pours. The right winery selection can take an already good tour and make it an outstanding one. We'll absolutely consider booking with Platypus again!

Napa Sonoma Wine Tasting Driver absolutely exceeded my expectations, and I wished I had hired them for my wedding! The booking process was seamless and transparent. I appreciate how much they communicated with me to confirm the itinerary and sent reminders leading up to the day. We booked an SUV for the day, and the car was in pristine condition and perfect for our group of 6. Our driver, Tony, was very professional and went above and beyond to make our day comfortable and easy. He was punctual, responsive, and safe as he took us to our many destinations for the day. All of this amazing service came at a very reasonable and competitive price. I 1000% recommend hiring Napa Sonoma Wine Tasting Driver for any of your limo/driving needs! We'll definitely be using them again.

Everything ran on time even with multiple stops throughout the day, which was our biggest worry with that many people to coordinate. We shopped around quite a bit for shuttle services and they had the best rates for our group size. But what really impressed us was how flexible they were when we needed to make some last-minute changes to timing and pickup spots. They could have been difficult about billing adjustments but really went out of their way to make sure we were happy. It's clear they actually care about taking care of their customers, not just getting through the job. Made one less thing for us to stress about on an already busy day. Would definitely use them again and recommend to anyone needing reliable transportation in the area

When our ship was delayed getting into port, our carefully planned day suddenly had to change. Nick immediately pivoted, adjusted our schedule and helped rearrange the day so we could still have an amazing Napa experience. He truly went above and beyond. Instead of making us feel stressed about the lost time, Nick handled everything and made sure we could simply relax and enjoy ourselves. He was professional, incredibly personable, knowledgeable about Napa Valley and genuinely cared about making our day special. The vehicle was beautiful, comfortable and immaculate, and the level of service was exactly what you would expect from a luxury private tour -- actually, even better. We travel frequently and have used many private drivers and tour companies, and Nick is one of the best we've ever had. What really sets him apart is his willingness to adapt when things don't go according to plan. Anyone can provide a great tour when everything runs perfectly; Nick proved how valuable he is when it didn't. If you're looking for a private driver or luxury wine-country tour in Napa or Sonoma, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nick and Perata Luxury Tours. We will absolutely use him again. Five stars isn't enough!

The experience is unique and the train itself is a novelty worth appreciating at least once. Service was funny, quick and very informative , telling us about the area, they did a wonderful job handling our large party. However when I think Napa I think wine tasting hopping between venues, exploring different wineries and really immersing yourself in what the valley has to offer. So make time to do both! The Wine Train doesn't quite deliver that and the views from the dome were honestly just okay. For the price point I think the better Napa experience is booking a private driver and hitting multiple venues at your own pace. You get more wine, more variety and a fuller picture of what Napa actually is. No regrets! just a one and done for me.

It was a gloomy rainy day but I still enjoyed myself. First off the lobby area is great, check in is smooth and they have a cool 360 operator that you can take videos on! The food is upscale and could use seasoning in my opinion. But still good. You get 4 courses. Breakfast, Dinner (refer to pic of menu), a cheese course, and a Dessert course. Look - Beef or Chicken- delicious- you cant go wrong and pick the creme brulee as Dessert. If you drink wine (and i mean DRINK WINE) you will absolutely get the bang for your buck. But if youre just there for vibes maybe spring for the lesser price ticket. We stopped at 2 wineries. The last had an Italian market with snacks and sandwiches. The tours itself were informative but wouldnt say fun. Personally wish they had a later start time. The check in starts at 945a and we were done by 4:30p. I feel like my group was tired and took us a minute to get into it. It also rained. But didnt stop our group from dancing in it and the employees joined in which was amazing!! Hands Down the Best Driver in Napa Valley!…read more I discovered George on Yelp, and after comparing other Napa car services--many quoting well over $1,000 for wine tours--it's clear why his customers rave about him. His reviews truly say it all! There were plenty of reasons we chose George over the rest. From our very first contact, George was incredibly responsive and communicative. I had a party of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids) for my husband's 40th birthday celebration and needed a vehicle that could securely accommodate a car seat with a latch system--his car was absolutely perfect. He arrived right on time, greeted us warmly, and was super easy to talk to. Throughout the day, George consistently arrived within minutes at each of our destinations. He didn't just drop us off--he guided us to the exact entrances and exits of every winery, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. On top of that, he shared insightful feedback about why each winery is special, adding a whole new level of appreciation to our tour. Another bonus, he provided water in an iced cooler and white glove door service! What really stood out was George's impressive local knowledge. Without even needing navigation, he expertly drove us from Petaluma to Napa while sharing fascinating stories and history about the wineries, estates, and the region itself. If you want a professional, friendly, affordable, and knowledgeable driver for your Napa experience, George is your guy! Highly recommend and would easily book him for our next trip!

I loved that they plan the day for you so all you have to worry about is getting to the trolley in the morning. We went to 4 wineries and we really enjoyed them. I would definitely go to most of them again independently. The guides at each winery were knowledgeable and I definitely learned a lot. The most expensive stop was $50 per person as they do special pricing for the trolley guests, so you do save a little over going there independently. Lunch was a delicious chicken sandwich and pasta salad with homemade cookies that we ate picnic style at a winery. It was delightful! I appreciated how attentive they were to my allergies. I would certainly recommend the wine trolley to any first time visitors to Napa! If you are a regular visitor to the area I don't know if you'd enjoy it as much.

Quality/Quantity - I had a hard time with the website making my appointment, it's a user issue as I am just not tech savvy. So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. I'll be honest: the planning phase started off a little strange. Molly was my point of contact, and then she suddenly disappeared from the process. Fortunately, everything eventually came together, and we ended up with an amazing six-day vacation, including visits to eight wineries over three days. But the real highlight -- the reason this is a 5-star review -- is Terry. Terry was amazing. Super friendly, super nice, and honestly a good-lookin' guy (even if he did tell us he gained 70 pounds after quitting smoking in 2019). He anticipated every single need before we even had to ask. He brought us breakfast when we were too lazy to get out of bed. He brought us pizza when we were too exhausted to make it to our dinner reservations. He's charismatic, charming, and funny as can be. Even on Thanksgiving Day, he made us feel important and cared for -- you'd never know he was missing a holiday with his own family and friends. He took great photos, insisted on making us feel special at every stop, and truly elevated our entire trip. And the best part? He refuses to accept more than an 8% tip. (Kidding... mostly.) Terry made our vacation. Hands down the best driver we've ever had. If you book with Beau, do yourself a favor: ask for Terry.
