Based on Yelp reviews, I booked a day with Gordy for myself and 3 friends for the one day of our San Francisco trip we had set aside for the wine country. Our day with Gordy ranks up there as one of the best vacation days I've ever had! We sampled amazing wines, we saw beautiful corners of Napa not open to the public, we met some great people, and we hung out with Gordy as if we were friends from way back. One of my friends commented that she hadn't laughed that much in a long time. My friends and I have varying levels of wine knowledge. The winemakers we visited were friendly and welcoming, making us comfortable enough to ask anything. Gordy knows these people personally. They are the kind of people you take pleasure in giving your business to. Gordy takes care of all the details. He'll keep you hydrated with water in the back of his SUV, he'll grab your cameras and take pictures so you can relax and enjoy the wines, and he will ship the wines you buy back home for you. I'm tempted to call this a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but the truth is that I look forward to returning to Napa and touring with Gordy again. I can't imagine a better Napa valley experience. I know for a fact that Gordy is going to read this review and so I just want to one more thing... "Hi Gordy!"

Another 5 stars for Gordy.... My girlfriend and I just finished a quick trip to wine country before we headed back to Chicago following a sibling graduation in the San Jose area. I don't even know where to begin. Hands down, our tour with Gordy was the HIGHLIGHT of our vacation. I was able to find Gordy via positive reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor, and was a little hasty on how dependable that would be. He put all my worries to bed when he arrived early at our hotel, and, with a huge welcoming smile on his face. He was conversational, funny and extremely knowledgeable as we broke the ice on the way to the first winery. He has great stories about the region, and, just about life. We learned about his trips to the the Midwest, and, how proud he is of his sons as they carve out their niche in NorCal and Wine Country. Gordy took us to 5 very different wineries. We felt special at every one as we soaked in everything that goes into wine making. Gordy knows a lot of great people in the region, and he will not take you anywhere that is anything less than breathtaking. As long as I live, I will always remember my picturesque lunch at Saviez vineyards, scarfing down a sandwich from the local market as we took in the incredible views on the private deck with Linda, the winemakers wife. She even picked me fresh rosemary to take home and grill with!! Gordy was even considerate enough to take us on a side trip between vineyards to take a photo of a redwood that had split. He said it was "trippy" and "cool". He was not kidding, it was quite a sight. I truly could go on forever on how incredible this experience was. Gordy offers an incredible way to see the region and at a pretty affordable price. Most importantly, it is a safe way to see valley. If you are coming out to Sonoma/Napa and looking for an incredible way and person see wine country, call Gordy. You will not regret it.

My girlfriend booked Gordy "Leibovitz", as I began calling him for his excellent work behind a camera, for two days of wine tasting based on Yelp reviews. Throughout their correspondence leading up to the trip she kept raving about how nice he seemed and how he was asking all the right questions to ensure our trip was personalized to match our preferences. The others on the trip who hadn't spoken with him were a bit skeptical as to whether two days with the same guide might get stale by the second day. In the end, that turned out to be a resounding NO. Gordy's dynamic personality immediately put us to ease and within the first hour it felt like we were old friends. If anything, it seemed that time went to fast and we could have gone another day. Gordy has lived in the area his whole life and it definitely shows. He knows everyone and everyone seems to know him. He planned two perfect days of visiting boutique wineries, who all make delicious wine, that we never would have found without Gordy. He has a seemingly endless number of wineries on speed dial so I'm confident he can put together a perfect trip for anyone. Gordy's number one priority was our enjoyment and we truly felt that the entire time. He has wine running through his veins and his passion is quickly contagious. Plus, the man's storytelling alone was almost worth the price of admission. I would definitely recommend Gordy to anyone who wants a truly unique Napa experience and doesn't mind laughing until it hurts.

Jessup Cellars--last stop on the tour. Excellent Zinfandel wine!

Gordy gave us a bottle his wine Witchery and we loved it--that bottle lasted 3 minutes because it was so good.

My girlfriend and I recently did the Legacy experience aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train and…read morehonestly it was one of the best experiences we've had together. We started our experience with commemorative Legacy pins which was a really nice touch as soon as we sat down there was champagne waiting for us at our table and the staff throughout the entire journey was friendly attentive. The train itself is beautiful and the ride through Napa Valley was fabulous. We started the morning with the Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict while enjoying wine and the scenery outside the windows. Later my girlfriend ordered the Cracked Mustard Cider Glazed Salmon and I had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin and both dishes were incredible. Everything tasted fresh high quality and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the overall experience. One of my favorite parts of the entire experience was visiting the wineries throughout the journey. Each stop gave us time to explore relax enjoy tastings and really take in the atmosphere Napa Valley is known for. We were also able to shop around for little gifts and even brought home a bottle of wine from one of the wineries which made the experience even more memorable. I brought my drone with me and was able to capture some incredible videos and photos of the vineyards and scenery which honestly made the experience feel even more unreal. Throughout the ride we also enjoyed wine tastings coffee pairings and small bites including the Chef's Cheese Course with fresh bread cheeses olives and local honey which paired perfectly together. The standout moment for me was honestly dessert. My girlfriend got the chocolate brownie dessert and it seriously melted in your mouth. I had the sherbet assortment which was super refreshing and the perfect way to finish such an amazing meal. I also want to give a shoutout to Carlos for being an amazing host and server throughout the experience. Even with a large group onboard he stayed attentive friendly and made sure every guest felt taken care of from start to finish. The entire six-hour experience flew by and every part of it felt well thought out. Between the food wine winery stops scenery and hospitality this is absolutely something I would recommend to anyone visiting Napa Valley.

I purchased the Legacy Experience. Overall, 2.5/5 stars…read moreTrain 3/5, fun experience, but not a necessary way to enjoy all Napa has to offer. The rail follows alongside the highway so views were not necessarily 'outstanding' because I was on the train. I do not need to ride this train to see these views. I did not have to drive, that brings the rating up, but there are MANY ways to not drive in Napa. It was a little rickety, but acceptable. The food, 2/5 stars, substandard for the cost. Portions were small (half a piece of bacon, 1 small egg for a Benedict, etc.) and taste was middle of the road. The service/staff 4/5. Most everyone was very hospitable and did their job well. However, it did feel as if we were 'just another group'. Everything is very script and not especially personalized. For example, I'm on a wine train and no one asked my wine preference. Which brings me to the wine we tasted on the train 1/5. I expected a higher quality of tastings. In addition, offer a choice of flight, white or red or a mix of both. Or, hear me out...offer wine pairings for each course (included with my ticket, not for extra cost). Stopping at the sign and enjoying the tasting in the open car was a wonderful choice, wine selection is greatly lacking and to be honest, a great disappointment. Overall, I enjoyed my time, but this was not necessarily due to being on the Napa train specifically, it was because I was on vacation in Napa. I could see the business cutting costs in almost every aspect and that is unfair because I am paying a premium cost of approx. $100/h. And for some of that time, I'm at the winery and not even on the train. Which brings me to the end of my rating, for the stops 2.9/5. The stops felt rushed, especially our first stop. They are about an hour each, but this includes disembark and reembark times. I wanted a little more time at each winery to make a purchase or walk the grounds. I will not be recommending this particular experience, I believe many improvements can be made. Lastly, I booked this experience due to several social media content creators experience. These creators are getting their experiences paid for. Be sure to read ratings from those of us not being sponsored.

Five Stars!!! I would highly recommend Napa Valley Wine Excursions! Paul was amazing to work with…read more I contacted him two weeks before Dry Creek Passport weekend. I was a bit in a panic because the driver I had set up several months prior cancelled on me. I called around and several companies were already booked. Paul's company was booked the Saturday, but available on Sunday. He went above and beyond and began to reach out to other companies for me and secured someone for me for Saturday. I didn't have to work with two different companies, all communications remained through him and pricing remained the same. Our two drivers (Burt & Steve) were on time, professional and super friendly. They had fantastic vehicles that were clean and more than comfortable. My friends and I had an amazing time this weekend and Paul's team made it even more special. I truly can't say how much I appreciated the level of service we received from beginning to end. Thanks Paul, Burt and Steve!!
